DENNIS — Angela and Jim DiTerlizzi have owned a cottage at The Village at Nantucket Sound since 2012.
For each of those nine years, they paid for a resident beach sticker, which they used to access resident-only beach parking lots in the town where they spend their summers.
The perk was one of the reasons they chose to own a home in Dennis, rather than rent a place for a few months each year.
But when the DiTerlizzis submitted their application for a resident beach sticker this year, they received a rejection letter by email.
“Not Eligible: Please resubmit your request as a seasonal beach sticker. Thank you,” read the email, signed “Town of Dennis.”
