Adelaide Strikers star Jake Weatherald had an eventful match on Sunday after he was run out twice on the same ball during the first innings before putting in a contender for catch of the season.
Weatherald (31 off 26) was on the wrong end of a bizarre dismissal. The Adelaide opener was at the nonstriker's end when teammate Phillip Salt blasted a Chris Green delivery, which bounced off the Thunder bowler's hand and landed back onto the stumps with Weatherald too slow to back up.
However, the play then continued when Salt opted to run for a single, with Weatherald slow to realise his teammate's decision as he failed to make it up the pitch in time, effectively being run out twice from the same delivery.
