Acted on rhetoric of the democrats. The rhetoric is causing me to be a shot at and i am the one that is going to say they are destroying the country from the inside and out. He quotes it as a threat to democracy. Again, your response to that, if i may. I think the response to that, if i may. I think the president , the former President Donald Trump, ought to look in the mirror as well. We saw the inflammatory rhetoric on january the 6th. And the attack on the capital. I think both sides should find some stability, lower the volume. As a democratic congressman, All Of Us are also getting threats on our lives. Again, we have seen in the last two months, the Assassination Attempts. I really do think we all ought to take a look in the mirror as democrats and republicans, and think about if there is a different way to have rhetoric. D0 there is a different way to have rhetoric. There is a different way to have rhetoric. Do you think that the have rhetoric. Do you think that the democratic have rhetoric. Do you think that the democratic leadership have gone too far in their that the democratic leadership have gone too far in their attic . I have gone too far in their attic . , ~. , attic . I have gone too far in their attic . , ~. , have gone too far in their attic . , ~. , have gone too far in their attic . , ~. , attic . I dont think that is what led attic . I dont think that is attic . I dont think that is what led attic . I dont think that is what led to attic . I dont think that is what led to these attic . I dont think that is what led to these Assassination Attempts. I do think there is what led to attic . I dont think that is what led to these attic . I dont think that is what led to these Assassination Attempts. I do think there is certainly. For my present s certainly. For my present S Rhetoric is a lot. We rhetoric is a lot. We Shouldnt Respond to it and we Shouldnt Respond to it and we Shouldnt Respond to it and we should find, as democrats, a Shouldnt Respond to it and we should find, as democrats, a better way to respond better way to respond positively with our ideas. I positively with our ideas. I think that is what vice think that is what Vice President harris is trying to president harris is trying to do with her campaign. She talks do with her campaign. She talks about expressing and looking about expressing and looking towards a different future and towards a different future and face the democratic leadership finding a way to heal the finding a way to heal the divisions in american politics. Divisions in american politics. When you say you were all when you say you were all getting assassination threats, getting assassination threats, can you give us an idea of what can you give us an idea of what sort of thing you are facing . Sort of thing you are facing . You know, if you look at the you know, if you look at the capitol police, the secret capitol police, the secret service, the level of threats service, the level of threats across lawmakers in both across lawmakers in both parties, going from death parties, going from Death Threats to threats of violence, threats to threats of and, you know, some of the real hard language that our staff parties, going from Death Threats to threats 0 will face in younger generation will face in terms of that and those burdens. There is still that concern in the united states about reproductive rights. That is going to be a major issue in terms of women being able to make their own Health Care decisions. You see that throughout the harris campaign. How much enthusiasm is there . Do you think turn is going to help the democrats as much as your Party Hopes . Help the democrats as much as your Party Horns . Your Party Hopes . Certainly. With vice your Party Hopes . Certainly. With Vice President your Party Hopes . Certainly. With Vice President harris. With Vice President harris being at the top you have seen enthusiasm go up dramatically. That is manifested with the ability of the Vice President and governor going into rural communities, where, even if we might not win some those counties, we can get a few thousand votes here and there. It will make a difference. I think you will see more of that, notjust her, but All Of Us, going to areas where it is notjust us, going to areas where it is not just about talking to democrats. Speaking to folks that might still be making up their minds. Their minds. Thank you very much for their minds. Thank you very much forjoining their minds. Thank you very much forjoining us. Their minds. Thank you very much forjoining us. Very i much forjoining us. Very grateful. Democrat congressman. Lets turn to party politics. Democrats Party Conference now. With Health Care at the centre of this conference, Deputy Leader Daisy cooper has been talking about her own experiences coping with crohn s disease, and how the nhs helped her get her life back on track. Our political correspondent Damian Grammaticas is in brighton and spoke to Daisy Cooper about her speech. That was probably the Standout Moment from the day so far. When Daisy Cooper, Deputy Leader of the liberal democrats gave that personal story. The first time she has shared that on a public stage like that. It is part of the team we have head over the last three days. Im pleased to say that Daisy Cooper is with us now. You shared the story. You were talking about how you were, the doctors in the hospital told a us four days away from death. That must have been a really tough moment for you. It that must have been a really tough moment for you. It was. I was extremely tough moment for you. It was. I was extremely unwell, tough moment for you. It was. I was extremely unwell, being. Was extremely unwell, being looked after, checked on by nurses every couple of hours. My nurses every couple of hours. My disease was very aggressive, it was right through my insides. It was quite shocking news. I was incredibly weak. As i said in my speech earlier, it was the news that came later that really upset me. They said that really upset me. They said that if i survive the surgery and recovered, all the things i wanted to do i might not be able to do. Because i wouldnt be well enough. For me, that was a very proud moment profound moment. I laid in my Hospital Bed for several hours and when i did recoverfrom a surgery, several years of Drug Therapy and support from the nhs, to work out what i was going to do, work again, how i was going to do it. Thank you to the support on the nhs, they gave me a Lie Life my life back and that is why im here today. Back and that is why im here toda. ~. ,. ,. , today. We are delighted you are here and healthy today. We are delighted you are here and healthy and here and healthy and contributing so much. Why did you choose to share that today . The Health Service was a big theme during the campaign, you could have done it then. Sometimes when politicians share these stories it is for personal reasons. You get to a stage when you are comfortable sharing a deeply personal and private story. We reach that stage at different points as politicians. This is a time when we are calling on the government to have a budget that will save the nhs. Now we have a bigger platform to spread our message about our plans to save the nhs and services. It felt like the right time to me personally but also as politically as well. What do you take from your experience. You say are calling on the government, it is a big theme now. What is the lesson you learned from them that feeds into this . Feeds into this . When i was reall ill feeds into this . When i was really ill 12 feeds into this . When i was really ill 12 years feeds into this . When i was really ill 12 years ago, feeds into this . When i was really ill 12 years ago, the l really ill 12 years ago, the pair was phenomenal. Many people i speak to now tell me, the Nhs Staff were superb. They were absolutely fantastic, we cannot fault them. When i saw them up and what they were trying to do, they were really busy, run off their feet, they were asked to do too many things. The hospital is crumbling, the awards were not big enough. The reason i was there was because i can see my gp. So what i take from my experience, is that the Health Service was in a better service then than now. I really feel for all those people that have shared their stories with me and my mp colleagues. They tell us their stories about how they try to get Help And Care services and how they try to access them. They havent been able to, often with tragic ends. It shows our motivation for really wanting to push his government to go further, faster, have Agency Ambition to save our services. Save our services. Thank you for sharing save our services. Thank you for sharing your save our services. Thank you for sharing your story save our services. Thank you for sharing your story and i for sharing your story and thoughts with us. I am sure we will have plenty of time to push the liberal democrats on their own approach to the Health Service. Both at the conference and empowerment.
