To formula i and red bull have confirmed their design chief adrian newey will leave the team in early 2025. Newey is widely regarded as the greatest designer in f1 history, but last week told red bull that he wanted to leave. It follows the controversy involving allegations about team principal, christian horner, who was accused of inappropriate behaviour by a female colleague claims hes always denied. Though newey s next team is not known, ferrari are the favourites to sign him. Formula one reporter jenny gow explains how valuable he is. He is the mastermind behind red bulls success and previous to that with mclaren, he spent almost 20 years with red bull and in that time he has masterminded two periods of utter domination. One at the moment has seen Max Verstappen go on to win three world titles, maybe a fourth one. He has won 118 races with red bull, and his car is basically what has enabled the team to have such a dominant streak in f1. He will step away from his duties with the f1 team at the end of this year, and most chief designers, most talent within f1, have a non compete session involved in their contract. He does not have that. He has managed to get out of it so he is free to go to another team. And with these massive Regulation Changes for 2026, he could well oversee the development of another winning carfor that era. It is massive news, possibly even bigger than Lewis Hamilton leaving mercedes to go to ferrari. It turns out eddie jordan is his manager. He thanked him for his friendship and his management. So hes instrument on this decision. Ive seen a podcast where he thought that maybe it was time that newey was to point from f1 and retire, would step away. But everyone said he would not want to retire. He go to aston martin, where theres a lot of money being put up for him tojoin . Or would he go to ferrari . Everyone is dying to know what hes going to do. Boxing is known for being a High Intensity Work out and a great way to let out your frustrations, but its not always been the most inclusive sport. Well, one gym on the south coast of england has been running adaptive boxing sessions, making the sport accessible to people who use wheelchairs, have Cerebral Palsy or parkinsons. Its hoped that in the future, it could be included in the paralympics. Juliette parkin has more. The murals may be of former champions, but the motto here is, anyone can box. When it comes to boxing, people think its not an accessible sport. They think, you know what, everyone s there getting hit in the head. Kieran green has Cerebral Palsy and has been training here forjust over three years. He now works full time to deliver the gyms adaptive programme, which has no barriers to inclusivity. Weve got a safer style of boxing. Its notjust for getting hit. Actually, we teach the defences. Its actually, you know, highly skilled, high tempo. Yeah, its all about the fitness and fun as well as the sport. A one to one online session for a junior living overseas, a way to fight parkinsons with twice weekly sessions, a wheelchair programme, just some of the training on offer here for all abilities, plus outreach events in schools and in the community. The men and women that come down to this club are physically and metaphorically fighting parkinsons. The thing about parkinsons is your torso, your muscles get stiff over time, as well as other symptoms affecting the condition. And this just loosens you up. Its great all round exercise. Everyone should have a go at boxing, basically. Letting out your frustrations on a punchbag is a tremendous thing. I come from kent, all the way to brighton, because the sessions are that good. Being in a wheelchairs sometimes difficult and its good to get out stress and its a great Stress Reliever to come down and do some boxing here. And its the only place, really, that you can come to and do this. The programme has been carefully planned over time, with safety at the forefront. There is a pathway for those who want to train, like kieran, to compete, with the aim of seeing adaptive boxing included in the paralympics. Its not about what you cant do, its about what you want to do and what you can do with a few adaptions. Its hoped that more gyms will throw their gloves into the ring in terms of providing inclusive boxing for all. As champions look on, could one day a paralympian be featured among them . Juliette parkin, bbc news. And finally, a 16 year old british golfer will be up against some of the best players in the world when he makes a daunting first appearance on the pga tour in texas on thursday. Great things are expected of kris kim who starred in europes victory at last yearsjunior ryder cup. Probably first hit a golf ball what i was around five, my mum used to play on the tour and used to watch her and ended up falling in love with it myself. Ive exams to pass english and i school, three days after i get back and so, i try to forget about them for the time being and focus on this. You can get all the latest sports news at from the bbc sport app, orfrom our website thats bbc. Com sport. From me and the rest of the team at the bbc sport centre, goodbye. Hello. On wednesday evening in france, we saw some pretty nasty storms with hail and thunder, gusty winds, and they have been drifting towards us. If we look at the Satellite Picture over the radar superimposed, the rainfall, you can see these dark blue colors indicating the very heavy rainfall and drifting in from the south towards the uk. So i think through the early hours we will have had some downpours. If they havent reached you already, they may be on the way, but of course not everybody is going to get them. Its near enough impossible to exactly predict where the storms will be, but north of that, its a completely different picture across Northern England and scotland. Some clear skies overnight. Now lets have a look at the early hours. This is widespread rain in the south west. I think the more vicious brief downpours with hail, Thunder And Lightning and flash flooding in places will be further towards the east. And some of these heavy showers may last through the morning and possibly pop off during the afternoon as well again around here. But by the time we get to Northern England, Northern Ireland and scotland, its mostly sunny, but note windy weather on the north sea coast, a chilly breeze. So it will keep things cool here. Maybe only 12 degrees on the north sea coast, 20 possible elsewhere across england. But i think the best of the weather for sure around the Western Isles with light winds and sunny skies. Now, the Weather Front still with us on friday. I dont think that is going to be itself producing any thunder. The showers could be developing across more northern parts of england through the course of the day. And again, its across the north and the north West Of Scotland where we have the best of our weather once again, 20 degrees celsius. Compare that to so many other major towns and cities, only around 13 or 1a degrees. And this does sometimes happen when we have easterly winds that sheltered part of Western Scotland tends to warm up in the sunshine. Now, heres saturday. You can see a fairly cloudy picture with a few blobs of rain here and there, maybe sunnier skies for a time in the south. And the temperatures are recovering somewhat, typically the mid teens to the high teens. Now, overall, the Bank Holiday Weekend is looking quite mixed for most of us. Temperatures stabilising around the average. I think the high teens across the south of the uk and not far off the average across many other parts of the uk, but for the time being, watch out for those storms in the south.
