This weekend. It will get to a frosty start, below freezing for some. By the end of the weekend, much milder. Along the way, some rain and some sunshine. There is a bit of rain out there today, outbreaks of rain continuing to work across scotland. A bit of snow over the highest round here. Some pretty hefty showers working across parts of england and wales, perhaps the odd flash of lightning and the odd rumble of thunder that has all this wet weather swelling away. Temperatures will fall away through the afternoon. But Northern Ireland are having a decent day. Through this evening, the skies were clear out and the winds will fall light. You can see a few mist or fog patches. A bit of cloud and rain in the west corner later. Elsewhere, around or below freezing. There is your frosty start to the weekend underneath this ridge of high pressure. But we see a Frontal System pushing in from the west. Cloud and rain with that, and as it moves its way in during the day on saturday, this will be a gradual process. We will see that milder air working its way northwards and eastwards across the uk, so temperatures will be heading upwards as the day goes on. A sunny but chilly start for northern and eastern parts. More cloud and rain towards the west. A lot of that rain will not be particularly heavy. We will not be particularly heavy. We will see some heavier bursts across Northern Ireland into south west scotland, the wind picking up here as well. Those temperatures rising by mid afternoon. During saturday night, we keep that feed off Milder Airfrom the night, we keep that feed off milder air from the south west. This Frontal System will bring heavy bursts of rain in places, but look at the temperatures for sunday morning. A frosty start to saturday. For sunday, many of us will start the day in double digits, so a completely different feel as we start the second half of the weekend. Some rain to clearfrom eastern parts. A lot of cloud, but that will break to give some sunny spells and a scattering of showers. Temperatures on sunday afternoon, easily 14 or 15 degrees in north east scotland, 16 or easily 1a or 15 degrees in north east scotland, 16 or 17 in parts of eastern england. More ups and downs to come next week and some rain at times. But i think we will generally land on the mild side of spring. Thanks, ben. And thats bbc news at one. We are in the countryside out here record breaking irish trainer Willie Mullins is looking to win the gold cup for the fourth time in six years how do you rate his chances . The short answer, is highly. He has the right hot favourite in last years winner. He will be delighted that this will be soft with a bit of heavy further go kart. Willie balances just one the first hurdle. Hes off to a good start today full stop he has another horse in the race, monkfish, which is a bit of an outsider. Hasntjumped a big fence for three years, but could come up in the top three. You mustnt also rule out anyone else. This is great for people like me, Carrick Rambler won the grand National Last year. Hell be the first to win a grand national and the cap. It could be a bit too soft for him, well find out later on. Of last year, and many others to look out for. To tennis where Carlos Alcaraz remains on track to defend his indian wells title but his place in the semi finals came at a painful and somewhat unique price. The two time grand slam champion was stung on the forehead after a swarm of bees invaded his match against alexander zverev. Play was suspended for an hour and 40 minutes as the swarm was cleared before alcaraz returned to win in straight sets. The sky had a thousand flies, stuck in my hair, owing to me. It was crazy, and one of them was hitting on me. But, yes. Itried crazy, and one of them was hitting on me. But, yes. I tried to stay away from them, but it was impossible. As i said, stuck in my hair. I was running out. Im a bit afraid of them, so i had to stay safe and yes. I was running everywhere, nothing came about the bees any more. Lets speak to our political corespondent, hannah miller. Thanks so much for your time. What more do we know about these reported donations that went known previously . Hatchback, can you hear me . Apologies, were having some issues coming to hannah. Welcome back to it when we can. Violent online content is now unavoidable for children in the uk, with many being exposed to it while still in primary school, according to a new 0fcom report. The regulator is urging social Media Companies to strengthen Child Protection on their platforms. Our Technology ReporterShiona Mccallum reports. How much time do you think you spend on your phone a day . Even Prince William is asking these questions when meeting with a group of schoolchildren at a west london youth centre yesterday. Hours. Thats quite a lot. But i bet you feel better coming here. But when children are on their smartphones, their innocence can soon be compromised. 0fcom say out of the 247 children it spoke to, all of them had encountered a range of violence, including gaming content, variable discrimination and fighting. And all of them, some as young as eight years old, had seen these posts pop up on social media, Video Sharing and messaging sites, many before the minimum age requirements. Children should not feel that seriously harmful content, whether thats violence or content about eating disorders or suicide and self injury, should be an inevitable or unavoidable part of their lives online. I think Todays Research really sets out clearly that the platforms just need to do more. So what can be done to prevent this type of harm . Well, from this research, a lot of the children didnt know and felt they had no control over it. They also said they had no trust in the reporting systems on social media platforms. The children in this research said that they wanted the internet to be a safe place to be, but many had to rely on themselves to keep it that way, rather than the adults in charge. Now, of course, when a child has been exposed to violence its really too late it cannot be unseen. Esther ghey knows that all too well. Her daughter, brianna, was murdered after her killers were able to access violent content. I would like to see phones that are made suitable for young people. And i really think that if this was in place before, then this could have prevented what happened to brianna. Kids are so much more tech savvy and i wasnt aware of what brianna was looking at online. Two other studies for 0fcom also had similar messaging. One said suicide, self harm and eating disorder content
