particular he said the group would intensify its attacks if civilian casualties were reported here in lebanon. he said that the group would return to its strategy of civilian for civilian, in other words they would target israeli civilians if there were civilian casualties here in lebanon. so i think the fear after this attack is that the situation here could escalate. yesterday, pictures of the car that was hit, completely destroyed, were widely shared on social media, on lebanese television. there was some angry reaction here following that attack, the lebanese caretaker prime minister said turkey has been vociferous in his condemnation of the israeli military offensive, as have arab countries as well, the us secretary of state has won him a line coming into us here, the us secretary of state has warned both hezbollah in lebanon, the militant group up there and iran that it is ready to act militarily against them if they escalate the conflict with israel. we have news that the us has sent a nuclear submarine to the area following two us aircraft carrier is being sent to the eastern mediterranean. all of these signs to iran and iranian proxies in the region that the us is ready to act against them if they were trying to seize the situation and exploit the situation to escalate this war even further. that is just one of the main concerns here. an escalation in the region, scattered showers. some of the showers will be heavy and thundery, particularly in the west. and on wednesday, we'll see some rain crossing from west to east. more on that later. but what we have this afternoon are still a lot of showers in the west, some of them spreading into the midlands and northeast england. but in between and ahead of them, we will see some sunshine, especially northeast
