The United Nations has described the situation for Palestinian Civilians as a humanitarian catastrophe. Dwindling access to water, food and medicine as israel tightens its blockade of the territory. Our gaza correspondent, rushdi abu alouf, sent us this update. About 2,000 families are living in these tents, they are people displaced from northern gaza. This camp has been built by the unrwa. These attacks have intensified in recent days but so far they remain content. This morning we visited a number of villages along the border, many residents have left on one of those villages was completely deserted so a lot of people are concerned that the violence could spread, many remember the devastation brought by the war in 2006 between israel and hezbollah so all eyes are on hezbollah, this powerful military in social and Political Organisation supported by iran, considered a Terrorist Organisation by the uk. The israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned hezbollah against escalating the situation promising what he described as an unimaginable response but its also important iran supports hezbollah but also groups in syria which borders israel, iraq, yemen, theres been a number of incidents in those countries in recent days so of the focus has been on what is happening along the border tensions are high across the region. The Home Secretary Suella Braverman is to question the head of the metropolitan police about its response to pro palestinian demonstrations in london at the weekend. The met said it had not identified any offences in a video posted online showing a man chanting the word jihad at an Islamist Group rally separate from the main march. Our chief political correspondent, henry zeffman, is in westminster. What are the governments concerns here . This chant took place as you say at a separate protest to the main protest and that separate protest was organised by a group which operates in many countries all over the world. An Islamist Group which wants sharia law to apply here and all over the world. The governments concern is that when the metropolitan police saw both in person and footage of this chant, they decided that no offence had been committed. The Home Secretary was already going to be meeting sir mark rowley the metropolitan Police Commissioner today, talking about the concerning rising anti semitism over recent weeks and this issue got wrapped into that meeting. The meeting hasjust wrapped into that meeting. The meeting has just broken up and saw mark rowley, the met commissioner has come out and said it is not the job at the met police taste or decency, it is theirjob to enforce the law and he said it is the job of parliament to set the boundaries of the law and perhaps they are not drawn in the right place in other words he says the reason offence were not seen to be committed by the met is because under the existing law, those are not offences and we know this has been history for some time because two years ago before he was running the met he wrote a review for the government in which he mourned Extremism Law was not tough enough to combat the sort of thing so i think you expect renewed pressure on the government, if it is serious about the sort of thing becoming an offence, to change the law. In a briefing just before the comments from sir mark rowley, a spokesman for the Prime Minister suggested the government would not do that so it is unclear but i think there will be pressure on the government from mps and others to find a way to crack down on this. Submerged after the storm, 250 homes were flooded in catcliffe at the weekend, leading to a dramatic rescue operation. The nearby river rother overflowed unable to cope with the exceptional amount of rainfall. So the clean up begins and with the water gone the damage becomes clear. I cannot believe the devastation in the kitchen. Weve got an american Fridge Freezer that has lifted up, put a hole in the ceiling and knocked all the Kitchen Cabinets down. My piano, cant replace that. My auntie just passed away this weekend and that was hers. Catcliffe is a community that has seen the dreadful impact of flooding before. Huge swathes of the village were underwater after a storm in 2007. The authorities said it was unlikely to happen again. We just heard a lady, shejust walked up, has lived here 60 years, and she confirmed these used to be council houses, they were knocked down because they flooded. People have bought after 2007. You cant tell me they bought knowing they were going to flood again. They must have been very secure, for the council to say, its safe. The Environment Agency said it is working hard with the local authority to support areas like catcliffe, but many residents feel angry and upset they are in this position once again. Kindness from neighbours is extremely welcome. A cup of coffee, lovely. But chris and sophie say they will now live in fear, worrying about when the next storm will arrive.
