20 vehicles carrying medicine and food passed through on saturday the first since israel tightened its blockade of the territory. The Rafah Crossing is on the egyptian border and is the only route not bordering israel, which means its currently the only potential way to deliver humanitarian aid into gaza. Well have the latest on the aid trying to get into gaza in the next hour. In other developments in the conflict today, irans Foreign Minister has accused israel of committing genocide in gaza, and has warned the situation in the middle east risks spiralling out of control. Israel has been continuing to carry out aerial bombing of gaza. These pictures are from the past hour. Its nowjust over two weeks since the hamas attacks inside israel, in which 1,400 people were killed. The Palestinian HealthMinistry Says about 4,700 gazans, mainly civilians, have been killed in the israeli air strikes. Israels military has warned civilians in gaza to keep moving south for their own safety, as it prepares to increase pressure on hamas, which is designated a Terrorist Organisation by the uk, us and other western governments. The Israeli Defense forces said one of its aircraft also targeted a mosque in the palestinian city ofjenin, in the occupied west bank. Israel says the mosque was used by a hamas cell as a base to plan and execute attacks against civilians. The israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, has met soldiers at the israel lebanon border. He reiterated his support for the troops in their fight against the iranian backed hezbollah, a group that, like hamas, is considered a Terrorist Organisation by the uk, us and others. Mr netanyahu said hezbollah would make the biggest mistake of its life should it start a war with israel. Translation we are now. In a double battle one here, at the lebanon Israel Border to make sure hezbollah back off, and the other battle, there in the south to ensure a decisive victory that will crush hamas. If hezbollah decides to enter the war, it will miss the second lebanon war. It will make the mistake of its life. We will strike it with a force it cannot even imagine. And the significance for it and the state of lebanon will be devastating. The israeli Prime MinisterBenjamin Netanyahu. There have been quite a few updates today from gaza and israel. As explained, there has been intensified bombing of gaza by Israeli Forces. There has also been a plea from many aid agencies to get more aid into gaza because the people there are, in the words of one aid agency, suffering a catastrophic situation. Our coverage this hour starts with this report from wyre davies. Israeli air strikes against what it says are strategic hamas targets have left parts of the gaza strip looking like a wasteland. Such bombings, say palestinians, is indiscriminate by its very nature and are resulting in thousands of civilian casualties. Many of those victims are children. These casualties were filled in central gaza. There are other graphic images too distressing to broadcast, showing the bodies of at least a dozen children. At another hospital in gaza city, this 18 year old us citizen who lost a sister in the shelling urges the American Government to get him and the surviving families out of gaza. After 20 trucks carrying basic food and medical aid were allowed into gaza yesterday through the border with egypt, it was hoped a similar number would cross today. But, says the un, its nowhere near the 500 trucks daily that are needed to sustain a population of more than 2 million. 30 , according to our sources, of the infrastructure is already destroyed. The un says that many who fled south to escape israeli bombing are now heading back to homes in northern gaza, towards the shelling, so dire is the humanitarian situation. Some people will die if they dont get insulin on a regular basis. There are 50,000 pregnant women in gaza. Water is absolutely necessary to keep them alive. But the situation is set to worsen. Thousands of israeli troops, tanks and heavy armour are preparing for a full scale Ground Offensive in gaza once bombing from the air achieves its objective. Its what israel says it has to do if hamas is to be crushed. I have no doubt that israel will need to go in on the ground to be able to effectively hurt and undermine and weaken hamas, but also to be able to project power in this region and show the world and its other adversaries that are watching that we have capabilities, and i think its a matter of day or days until that happens. But israel knows a Land Invasion of gaza could trigger conflict in the wider region. In the palestinian west bank, a hamas cell preparing for an attack was hit in the city ofjenin, they say. In southern lebanon, where hezbollah have threatened to avenge any invasion of gaza, Cross Border Skirmishes may be a portent of things to come. But israels Prime Minister warned hezbollah and its sponsor in iran not to get involved. If hezbollah decides to enter the war, they will be making the biggest mistake of their lives and hit with unimaginable force, said the Prime Minister, talking to Israeli Soldiers in the north today. One factor that mr netanyahu cant control is the fate of 200 israeli and International Hostages being held by hamas in gaza. Free them now Theirfamilies Fear an israeli invasion could put their lives in further danger. Live now to our correspondent paul adams injerusalem. Before we talk about mr netanyahu and what he said to troops on the border we have been hearing about an accident when an israeli tank apparently accidentally fired on an egyptian post near the border with gaza, can you give more information about this . ,. , gaza, can you give more information about this . About this . Yes, the Israeli Defense forces have about this . Yes, the Israeli Defense forces have released about this . Yes, the Israeli Defense forces have released a about this . Yes, the Israeli Defense forces have released a statement i forces have released a statement saying that one of their tanks did as you say accidentally fire on an egyptian position near the kerem shalom crossing, that is a cross in from the gaza strip into israel right at the southern end of the gaza strip, very close to the Rafah Crossing where the aid trucks had been trying to enter into gaza. The incident, according to the idf, is being investigated and details are under review. The statement concludes that the idf regrets the incident. Some sources from the egyptian side are suggesting that two egyptians were injured in this and that an egyptian watch postal lookout post was destroyed, but we dont have very clear details on that. But i think what it is is indicative of the extremely fraught and dangerous situation that exists down there at the southern end of the gaza strip, where on the one hand, there is this really increasingly desperate effort to try and get aid in from the egyptian side welcome on the other hand, the israelis are continuing to pursue their military objectives with absolutely overwhelming force while on the other hand. Lets absolutely overwhelming force while on the other hand. Lets talk about what while on the other hand. Lets talk about what we while on the other hand. Lets talk about what we heard while on the other hand. Lets talk about what we heard earlier while on the other hand. Lets talk about what we heard earlier from | about what we heard earlier from Prime Minister netanyahu talking to the troops on the israel lebanon border. Tell me the message she had for hezbollah and for those who he believes may want to fight a proxy war with israel he had. Yes. Believes may want to fight a proxy war with israel he had. War with israel he had. Yes, he said to the war with israel he had. Yes, he said to the troops war with israel he had. Yes, he said to the troops he war with israel he had. Yes, he said to the troops he was war with israel he had. Yes, he said to the troops he was visiting l said to the troops he was visiting that essentially come israel is now fighting on two fronts. 0n the one hand trying to destroy hamas once and for all gaza and on the other hand, trying to persuade hezbollah not to join this battle hand, trying to persuade hezbollah not tojoin this battle in gaza. Not to feel this is a moment it should be trying to exploit. We have seen the simmering tensions over the northern borderfor the seen the simmering tensions over the northern border for the last two weeks with multiple exchanges of fire between israel and hezbollah. There have been fatalities on both sides. The israelis are sufficiently alarmed both to have moved significant numbers of troops up to the border, but also to have evacuated Tens Of Thousands of People Living in what are considered to be vulnerable communities along the border. So mr netanyahu really had a message for hezbollah which is, if you make the mistake of escalating the situation here, then you will look back on the 2006 lebanon war and you will wish you were back there. In other words, you have not seen even a fraction of what israel is capable of doing. I think the israelis obviously would prefer not to fight on two fronts simultaneously, but they are also conscious that they have in the Eastern Mediterranean and American NavalCarrier Group which could, should things escalate further, play a role in any conflict in the north. Finally, let me ask you about plans. Because we have been talking to various people about potential Ground Invasions, Ground Incursions by israel, but complicated quite a lot by the Hostage Situation in gaza. , ~. ,~ gaza. Yes, i think the Netanyahu Government gaza. Yes, i think the Netanyahu Government is gaza. Yes, i think the Netanyahu Government is acutely gaza. Yes, i think the Netanyahu Government is acutely conscious| gaza. Yes, i think the Netanyahu Government is acutely conscious that on the streets of israel, there are families protesting every day, demanding the safe release of what we now think are still 212 hostages being held in the gaza strip. That is the latest figure put out by the israelis, it has gone up in the last 24 israelis, it has gone up in the last 2a hours as they have identified more they think are being held in gaza. And also that pressure is coming from outside, from the united states. Joe biden has said on more than one occasion that the fate of american citizens being held in gaza is one of his highest priorities. So these are extraordinarily complex issues that add to the existing complexity of what it is that israel is planning to do in gaza, which is a major operation designed to uproot hamas once and for all. And i think thats why we are still now two weeks and a bit on from the events of october the 7th, we are still in a situation where air strikes are still going on and we are waiting for the Ground Invasion to take place. For the Ground Invasion to take lace. ,. , ~ ,. , for the Ground Invasion to take lace. ,. , ~ y. , for the Ground Invasion to take lace. ,. , ~ ,. Breaking news now. The family of missing british teenager Noiya Sharabi have confirmed she was murdered by hamas. Sixteen year old noiya, her 13 year old sister yahel and her mum lianne, who you can see in this picture, are now all confirmed as killed after the attack on kibbutz beeri. They are all british. Lianne was born in the uk. Noiya had been missing since the massacre at the kibbutz on 7th october. The girls father eli is still missing. Other relatives have been kidnapped. Her british family told the bbc this afternoon she had been formally identified. They said, noiya was clever, sensitive, fun and full of life her smile lit up the room like a beacon. She embraced every opportunity to help others, particularly those less fortunate than she, and was a gifted student and linguist. Most importantly, she was an amazing grandaughter, cousin and niece. We are heartbroken she has gone, but forever grateful she was here. After yahel s death was confirmed last week the family said she was a bundle of energy who loved riding her bike at breakneck speed around the kibbutz, playing football, singing and dancing to tik tok and youtube with sister noiya and, on occasions her british cousins. They said lianne was the light of our familys life. She had a wonderful, caring nature. She would help anyone in trouble be it physical, emotional orfinancial, she would be there for them. She was funny, with a dry sense of humour. So Noiya Sharabi has been confirmed dead, murdered in that hamas attack in october the 7th. A group of us senators have been holding a News Conference in tel aviv on the situation in the middle east. They included the senior republican senator lindsay graham. Heres what he had to say, this is the message to our friends in israel, we stand with you without apology and your people. I come here because i love israel. I do not hate palestinians, i hate hamas. We are here today to give israel what they need to do the job of destroying hamas. We are here today to tell iran, we are watching you. If this war grows, it is coming to your back yard. There wont be two fronts, there will be three. There is an effort to unleash hezbollah on the jewish state to destroy it, my attention will be to tehran. These innocent hostages get slaughtered, i hold you iran accountable because you could stop it if you chose to. I come here to let israel know that america will be with you. I come here to let the arab world no, lets make peace if we can. Destroying hamas is non negotiable. How we do it, lets talk. Hamas is nonnegotiable. How we do it, lets talk it, lets talk. Some Breaking News in the last couple of minutes, the un Palestinian Refugee agency, the un Palestinian Refugee agency, the one which was created by the un to work specifically for Palestinian People unrwa, it has said 29 of its staff have so far been killed in the goals at war since everything began on october the 7th. That is the un Palestinian Refugee agency which does a lot of work within gaza. And a little bit earlier, i spoke to their spokesperson. Tamara al rifai. We are talking about the issue of fuel because a news agency said it had been told a number of fuel tanks were entering into gaza today. We tried to confirm this news and we spoke to unrwa and they said this is not true and that no fuel has crossed into the rafah border into gaza. Fuel is crucial because of course, many hospitals in gaza rely on it to keep generators going and also water Desalination Plants in gaza that rely on it to keep them going. I spoke to her earlier and she explained the truth behind the rumours. I would like to confirm that no fuel has gone into gaza today or yesterday, or over the last two weeks. So there was confusion over pictures, footage of these trucks, but there are trucks that are on the egyptian side of rafah getting ready to cross and being inspected and there are trucks that are already inside gaza, close to the border. So there has been no crossover, and definitely no crossover of fuel. And on this occasion, unrwa is really stepping up its call to enable fuel to go into gaza, because without fuel, it will not be possible for us, the Largest Humanitarian Agency in the gaza strip, to work after a couple of days from today. Tamara, just explain to people watching this at home what the fuel is used for. Because its notjust put into cars and lorries, is it . Its used in hospitals, its used in Desalination Plants and its used by you as well, as you were explaining. Just give a clear explanation of why fuel is so important to gaza. Fuel is extremely important for the trucks that carry the food, the water, the medicines, the blankets and everything around gaza. So, for the trucks. Fuel is also very important for generators that generate electricity. It is even more important to generate electricity in hospitals for all the Life Support Equipment and machines to be able to function. And fuel is important for generators that generate electricity for the water Desalination Plants, without which, everybody in gaza does not have access to clean Drinking Water. So if there is no fuel, there is no humanitarian aid and there is no Drinking Water and there is no life support in hospitals. Lets talk about what is able to enter gaza, because we saw yesterday, 20 trucks moving in from egypt through the Rafah Crossing. Were hearing about 17 going in today . Thats what were hearing too, but theyre still undergoing verification, according to reports weve received. But i would like to give a little bit of context. Gaza has been under a blockade for 17 years, which really severely affected its economy. 60 of its inhabitants already depended on food aid before this crisis. So before the 7th of october, gaza received around 100 trucks every day full of food and fuel assistance. So while were all extremely happy that 20 trucks went in yesterday after two weeks of full siege, just for context, 20 versus 100 before this war. Were going to need much, much more aid if we truly want to respond to a humanitarian crisis of this scale and scope of what we are witnessing in gaza today. The situation is catastrophic for many in gaza. Our gaza correspondent, rushdi abualouf, reports from inside one of the aid camps in southern gaza. About 2,000 families living in these tents. They are people displaced from the north, in gaza. This is, a camp has been built by the unrwa. I was speaking to the families here. They said they are struggling to find water. They are struggling to find food. They are struggling to find a bathroom. They said the bathroom here is a real challenge. They said security, also, is a real challenge because as you know, hamas has been under really heavy attack by israel for the last two weeks or so, so there is no police around the area to maintain law and order, a few problems here, social problems in the area. But those people, they said, we have been given very little food, very little water, very Little Medicine to the people who are in need for this. This is an example of how 700,000 people who are displaced from the north are living in a very difficult condition in gaza city. The unrwa is planning to have more and more camps like this, once the egyptians are allowing more tents, more food, more fuel and more medicine. The archbishop of canterbury, justin welby, has visited jerusalem, showing solidarity with anglicans in the city. The Anglican Diocese ofjerusalem manages Al Ahli Hospital in gaza where hundreds of people are thought to have died in an explosion on tuesday. Archbishop welby knows the hospital well, having opened one of its wings. Hes been talking to the bbc s clive myrie. Its just an oasis in the middle of eastjerusalem. We meet in the garden of st georges cathedral. An outpost of the Anglican Church here in the holy land. I come out here early in the morning to pray. Theres been much to reflect on following the bloody events of the last two weeks. Beginning with the hamas attack that filled him with rage. When everyone sees something that is profoundly evil and horrific the slaughter, the butchery, the cruelty to the bodies of infants up to elderly people it is a horror that if you dont feel a sense of anger, i think youre missing something in your humanity. But when you do see the Bombing Campaign that is taking place in gaza, what are your thoughts on that . It breaks my heart to see that. Because i know that if you bomb a city, innocent people die. Horribly. And in agony. Children. People with no involvement, who are just caught up in this horrific and horrendous process. We cant lecture israel, we can appeal. Were not better than them. Were two faced if we lecture them. But we can appeal. And this is what i hearjoe biden doing, what i heard rishi sunak doing, what i hear other people doing, is saying, of course we understand, if we do, of course we know how angry we are, and rightly, and of course you have the right to self defence, and the duty of self defence. But be who you are. Be the best you are. Archbishop, thank you. Thank you. The archbishop of Canterburyjustin Welby speaking to my colleague clive myrie. Three organisations representing jewish communities in the uk have held a Solidarity Rally in Trafalgar Square in london. They read out the names of about 200 hostages captured by hamas and demanded their release. Some of those at the event have links to those taken. Marie van der zyl is the president of the board of deputies of british jews. So many people here in the uk that have got family and friends, people who know the hostages and their families. This is something that is not in a far away place, this is something that is affecting londoners, that is affecting all of us in the uk. If you can hear now the names are being read. It is be ond the names are being read. It is beyond heartbreaking. Iam back in the names are being read. It is beyond heartbreaking. I am back in a few minutes with more bbc news. Stay with us on the bbc. Hello. Well, the sun is back out again. But, of course, weve had a huge amount of rainfall in the last few days. Lets take a look at these figures. And in eastern scotland, it looks as though in excess of 200 millimetres of rain injust that one storm. Wakefield there, 144 millimetres. The South Of England also had a lot of rainfall. And just because the sun is out, it doesnt necessarily mean that the threat is completely over. You may want to check the Environment Agency website, sepa as well in scotland, to see what those river levels are doing. Because sometimes, there is quite a delay from the moment when it starts raining to the peak of when flood waters arrive. But in terms of the weather, at least, its quiet across most of the uk today. 12 degrees in newcastle, around 15 in london, about the average for the time of the year. And weve got quite a chilly evening on the way with clear skies and light winds. There might be even A Touch Of Frost at least early in the night across parts of northern britain. You can see barely above freezing there at 5am in aberdeen. But much milder in the south west of the country, around 13 in plymouth. Thats because we have a south westerly wind. A Weather Front is approaching. Therell be some rain around tomorrow, i think, in the very far south west of the uk. But i think the bulk of the country on monday, again, another decent day, with bright or sunny skies. However, rain is threatening to reach the south later on monday and into tuesday. This next Weather Front sweeps in from the south. So i think more wet weather to come, at least across some parts of the country. So, yes, were in a sort of spell of drier weather now, but more rain is forecast. Its not going to be anywhere near as widespread and persistent at least, not until tuesday or wednesday. Later on wednesday, it does look as though the weather is going to go downhill once again, as another very large area of low pressure sweeps in off the atlantic. And i think its initially western parts of the uk that get the rain early on wednesday. Here it is, the next Weather Front. Heavy rain for south western england, for wales, Northern Ireland too. And then later on wednesday, that Weather Front will progress towards the north and the east of the country and, with that, some very strong winds. So the outlook overall is looking unsettled. No two days are going to be the same. Temperatures will be around average. And if you look at these weather icons, i think at least rain showers most days for most of us. Live from london, this is bbc news. A second convoy of trucks carrying aid is at the Rafah Crossing between egypt and the gaza strip. They are being checked at a verification point. Its not yet clear whether theyll be allowed in. The Israeli Military has expressed regret for the shelling of an egyptian position near the border with gaza by one of its tanks. It said the incident not far from the Rafah Crossing, was a mistake and would be investigated. It happened as checks were carried out on a second convoy of trucks waiting to take humanitarian aid from egypt to the gaza strip. The rafa crossing is on the egyptian border and is the only route not bordering israel which means its currently the only potential way to deliver humanitarian aid into gaza. Israel has been continuing to carry out aerial bombing of gaza. Its nowjust over two weeks since the hamas attacks inside israel, in which 1400 people were killed. The Palestinian HealthMinistry Says about 4,700 gazans, mainly civilians, have been killed in the israeli air strikes. Our correspondent in jerusalem is yolande knell. Explosions. Taking aim, israeli tanks and troops are readying for a Ground Offensive in the gaza strip. Theyve been training for their fight. Commanders have said clearly that forces will enter the territory to crush hamas. For now, the military says it is intensifying air strikes and there was evidence of that in gaza overnight with dozens reportedly killed, including in the south of the strip, after a Million People from the north were told to evacuate here for their own safety. Just a trickle of aid has been allowed into gaza, now under siege by israel. These 20 lorries entered yesterday through egypts Rafah Crossing, today another 17 were sent. With a million displaced people and severe food and Water Shortages in gaza, there are fresh warnings about a catastrophe from humanitarian agencies. We are in regular contact with our teams, who are on the ground and the scenes they describe are horrific. Unfortunately, we are continuing to see the civilian toll of these armed hostilities rise. Buildings are reduced to rubble, people are using their bare hands to try to find survivors under this rubble. Hospitals are at a breaking point. Away from gaza in the occupied west bank, locals inspected the damage after a mosque was hit in a rare israeli air strike here overnight. Israel says it was targeting hamas and islamichhad members planning attacks. And, in southern lebanon, Israeli Forces say they hit back at hezbollah fighters, as they continue mess to Serious Exchange of fire the most Serious Exchange of fire across the border in well over a decade. It all adds to the fear this could end up in a war that is being fought on multiple fronts at once. Yolande knell, bbc news, jerusalem. Tell me more about what was said today and what those organising it are hoping to achieve. Yes. Today and what those organising it are hoping to achieve. Are hoping to achieve. Yes, some real emotional are hoping to achieve. Yes, some real emotional testimony are hoping to achieve. Yes, some real emotional testimony today. Are hoping to achieve. Yes, some i real emotional testimony today over the course of this afternoon. Thousands of people gathered in Trafalgar Square in london. It is starting to dissipate now. Probably around 5000 people on this rally, Something Like that, by theJewish Community. They called this rally bring them home, directly protesting against the taking of hostages from israel. The co organiser include the Jewish Leadership Council and the board of deputies here in london calling for the safe return of hostages to jewish calling for the safe return of hostages tojewish organisations here in london. This rally today very much about showing solidarity, raising awareness about freeing those hostages. There are also Family Members speaking today of some of the hostages, giving real emotional testimony, calling on everybody really to call for their safe return home. Obviously very emotional speeches as welcome as you can imagine over the course of this afternoon. The names of some of the hostages were read out as well today. They took quite a lot of time today. They took quite a lot of time to do that in order to honour what they felt was a very important situation, to really highlight here this afternoon. They also held a minutes silence as well. Another important part of this afternoon as well. The communities secretary michael gove was also speaking here, i think really is a sign of uk government solidarity with the Jewish Community is here. Thank you ve much Jewish Community is here. Thank you very much indeed. From Trafalgar Square, covering that gathering. Lets talk to you a little bit more about what is happening within gaza. As we are reporting, conditions for civilians in gaza are increasingly dire. Indeed, what is needed right now is to have sustained access to gaza to bring in medical supplies but also, as you say, clean water and fuel. Hospitals cannot run without fuel and without clean water. This is something we have seen in many hospitals, they are using the last reserves, they are rationing the last litres of fuel they have. If you dont have fuel, you dont have light, you cannot have surgical theatres, you cannot run incubators and other things you need to provide life support to patients. Yesterday, we were able to bring in four trucks of surgical and trauma material as well as medicines for chronic diseases, but that is not enough and we need access. We have more supplies ready on the egyptian side and we are ready to bring those in. What we really need is security guarantees that this aid can safely get in. What kind of guarantees, who do you need those guarantees from . Go ahead. This has been negotiated at the political level and colleagues from the United Nations are involved. We, as humanitarians other, standing ready to provide are there standing ready to provide support to palestinians. We just hope that what happened yesterday was just the first of the un supplies coming in and it is encouraging to see there have been other convoys today. Really, what we also need and you have mentioned in your programme, is to look at the situation of the hospitals in the north of gaza in the light of the israeli order to evacuate the population from there. That includes also hospitals. It is difficult, almost impossible to evacuate hospitals from north gaza. Because patients who are they cannot just simply be moved, because patients who are there cannotjust simply be moved, many are on mechanical ventilators, they are newborns in incubators, people are in unstable conditions and it is very difficult to move them. We were calling on israel to reconsider this order. Talk to me about that because israel has said, it has even warned in the last few hours if you are in north gaza then you could potentially be in danger. Because obviously there will be intensified bombing. You need to move south. It is important to underline that there are many, many people who just cannot do that . Exactly. It is a difficult question being asked to Health Workers there, working in those hospitals in gaza, there are more than 2,000 patients in hospital but people in their homes who simply cannot move. People with non Communicable Diseases and people with Mental Health problems and there are 50,000 women. So to ask Health Workers to try to evacuate patients, whose evacuation would probably be a Death Sentence for those people, is something really difficult. People who are on life support simply cannot be moved. So this is why we were pleading with israel to reconsider this order. If you want to know more about what has been happening in the conflict would go to the website. It is being updated minute by minute on the ground and in the uk. Here in the uk, about 500 homes in the nottinghamshire town of retford are being evacuated because of flooding caused by storm babet. The County Council has declared a Major Incident and urged everyone to leave. The river idle has reached Record Levels and they are still rising threatening the town. The Environment Agency says flooding from the storm, which has caused widespread damage in scotland and the north east of england, could last until wednesday. Our correspondent, andy gill, updated us on the situation. Parts of retford are already suffering the aftermath of storm babet. Up to 600 properties are affected by the severe flood warning. That means there is a threat to life. The water is already in liams home. It peaked at around three oclock this morning, thats when we first noticed all the water had come in. The fire service came round this morning and told us that at eight oclock this evening, it is going to rise by 30 or 35 centimetres, so we are going to be really, really hit by it. Some residents have already left. This morning, when i came home, obviously there was all this. So everyone has been asked to evacuate i have tried to get as much as possible up the stairs and out of the way, but, yes, it isjust horrible. The nottinghamshire Resilience Forum says that although no more significant rainfall is forecast, they expect river levels to keep on rising and there could be a threat to life until tuesday. Some of those evacuated are going to a local leisure centre. The absolutely unprecedented rainfall has created so much water, this hasnt happened before. There is such a volume of water coming down the river all at once that basically, it is not designed to cope with it. In south yorkshire, the floodwater has been as high as peoples ceilings. Chesterfield in derbyshire has also been affected. Andy gill, bbc news. In angus and aberdeenshire, people are returning to their flooded homes to assess the damage. People are cleaning up and making repairs. Most properties in scotland that experienced power cuts have now been reconnected. Alexandra mackenzie reports from brechin. So, this is where all the damage. Yeah. Has been. Its just devastating. Christine and her partner davey are trying to salvage some of her belongings. Ijust cant get my head around it. So, whats the worst thing for you, do you think, about whats happened . Losing everything. Ive got to start again. For people that doesnt have the money, how can they start again . It doesnt feel like home now. Like many others in brechin, christine has no insurance. She said it was just too expensive because she lives so close to the river. Well do what we can, obviously, help her out and things like that, because she got told she couldnt have insurance here. A lot of companies wouldnt even look at her because its such a high risk area. The flooding has subsided in brechin, and this family has started on the clear up. Weve been in this house 60 years, and ive never seen it as high. You felt a bit helpless to start with, to be perfectly honest, because obviously nobody could get access to places, and we were just wondering and hoping that everybody was ok and safe. That was the most important thing. And then as soon as people could get access, everybody, it was all hands on deck. As it is across all sorts of households across brechin, thats the way brechin does stuff. Christine says her life is in limbo, and even if she can eventually go home, she is frightened this could happen again. Alexandra mackenzie, bbc news, brechin. People are voting in argentinas first round of president ial elections. The far right candidate javier milei is among the frontrunners. Also standing are the incumbent minister of economy, sergio massa, from the center left coalition, and the former minister of security, patricia bullrich, from the center right. Our South America Correspondent Katy Watson reports from buenos aires. Well, the one thing that matters to every single argentinian here is the economy. This is a country that is seeing inflation well over 100 . Everybody s lives are getting more and more difficult every day. So all the candidates are pushing, you know, an improvement on the economy. But as you said, javier milei is the front runner. He is offering drastic solutions, including blowing up the central bank, bringing in the dollar as the official currency. The other two candidates perhaps are a little bit less drastic, shall i say, on the proposals. But thats what people here want. They want these drastic proposals because they want to see change in a country that has been teetering on the edge of an economic collapse for years now. Yeah, you mentioned that inflation that what, 138 , over 40 poverty in argentina. I mean, the economy very much is the focus for people. And what are the candidates saying theyre going to do differently from each other in terms of the economy . Well, thats what is so interesting about these elections, because javier milei has thrown open the elections. Incumbent peronist minister, economy minister is seen as, you know, the status quo, but actually, you know, nothing is going to change under him. When youve got, youve obviously got patricia bullrich, the former security minister. You know, shes, again, one of the political kind of big hitters. Again, no change for a lot of people here in argentina. So javier milei is seen as somebody, hes an outsider. Hes not one of the political cast. Thats what, you know, hes touting himself as. And so thats what people want, is they want different solutions. You know, its notjust about having welfare packages. Its notjust about trying to offer, you know, options of trying to stabilise the economy. Its just thinking up very, very different solutions. But, of course, people are very concerned about that here in argentina, about the instability, about how the markets react to that. But youve also got, you know, other issues beyond the economy that people want to talk about. So javier milei, for example, talks about liberalising arms, restricting abortion rights. Hes also talked about talked down the atrocities of argentinas dictatorship. So all of these discussions are going on in argentina. But its the economy, every single time you speak to every single voter going in the doors behind me, who Say Theyjust Want to be able to live their lives as normal. A second convoy of trucks carrying supplies is being checked at the Rafah Crossing between egypt and the gaza strip. We start this hour at the Rafah Crossing between egypt and the gaza strip. A second convoy of trucks carrying aid has arrived there. The trucks are being checked at a verification point. All are being examined to ensure they are only carrying humanitarian aid. We dont yet know whether they will be allowed to cross into gaza. 20 vehicles, Carrying Medicines and food, passed through on saturday the first since israel tightened its blockade of the territory. The Rafah Crossing is on the egyptian border and is the only route not bordering israel, which means its currently the only potential way to deliver humanitarian aid into gaza
