On the israel gaza war. In the last hour or so the United Nations has said that it has been told by the Israeli Military that more than a million palestinians must leave the Northern Gaza Strip within the next 2a hours. In a statement the un spokesman Stephane Dujarric said the United Nations considers it impossible for such a movement to take place without devastating humanitarian consequences. The United Nations strongly appeals for any such order, if confirmed, to be avoiding what could transform what is already a tragedy into a calamitous situation this is the scene live in gaza where it has just gone 7 00 in the morning. The un said the order by the Israeli Military also applied to all of its staff and those sheltered in un facilities, including schools, Health Centres and clinics. Live now to new york with our correspondent, nada tawfik. We have heard this message from the un urging israel to rescind this Evacuation Order. What more can you tell us about where this message, how this message has reached the un via israel and the un response . Liih israel and the un response . Un Officials Israeland the un response . Iii , officials were actually informed by their Liaison Officers in the Israeli Military. Through both their humanitarian organisation and some of their Safety Officers on the ground. They said they were told just before midnight local time the un needed to evacuate the entire population of Northern Gaza within 24 hours. The un said it is simply impossible. Impossible, they say, for such a movement to take place without devastating humanitarian consequences. We already know gaza is one of the most densely Populated Areas with more than 2 Million People, this area we are speaking about has 1. 1 Million People. This order applies to even un staff and Those Sheltering In Un schools, un Health Centres, clinics. The un now saying again it is simply impossible to comply with this without devastating humanitarian consequences and they are strongly appealing for this to be presented. They say is already a tragedy, already humanitarian crisis in gaza and this would lead to a calamitous situation. We have actually had reaction as well from israels ambassador to the un. He in an angry response set the uns response to israels Early Warning to be president of gaza is shameful. He accuses the un of Turning A Blind Eye to the arming of hamas and its use of the civilian population and billiard infrastructure in gaza to hide weapons. They said they should focus on returning hostages, condemning hamas and supporting israels right to defend itself. We have heard from the un numerous times as well about when israel issues warnings ahead of airstrikes and tells the population to seek safety, the un saying there is no safe place in gaza. There is just simply, there is no safe place in gaza. There isjust simply, including for their stuff, they have already lost numerous dap that have been killed. They see the seat is communing a humanitarian catastrophe, no food or water going on. Now again, the wind once more sounding the alarm, saying this is just an impossible order for them to comply with. So that is the response from the United Nations. Anything yet from the United States . Antony blinken in the region pledging solidarity with israel but also urging proportionality and i expect we wait to see what they have to say about the proportionality of this response . Proportionality of this response . Proportionality of this resonse . 3 ~ proportionality of this resonse . , ,. , response . Thats right. We have not et response . Thats right. We have not yet heard response . Thats right. We have not yet heard from response . Thats right. We have not yet heard from antony not yet heard from Antony Blinken. He is there in the region. Will also be getting a Security Council meeting, close consultations, tomorrow at the un. We will certainly wait to see what the reaction of the International Community is to this. Now, ican International Community is to this. Now, i can tell you that certainly there has been concern amongst the palestinians. The Palestinian Mission to the un, saying they do certainly condemn what hamas has done but saying that what is happening in gaza is collective punishment and saying these are civilians that need to be protected. The un again saying these are civilians that need to be protected under International Humanitarian law and so as you say while we have seen that very strong support for israel coming from the us, other European Nations saying their support is rocksolid, they have as part of that statement though very much kind of without emphasising that part of the statement said that israel does have to comply with international law. We will wait to see if they think this is a proportionate response because that of course is the law in war for proportionate response. But as i say nothing yet from the United States at the moment. The United States at the moment the United States at the moment. ~ . , ~ moment. We saw Antony Blinken in tel aviv moment. We saw Antony Blinken in tel aviv yesterday moment. We saw Antony Blinken in tel aviv yesterday pledging in tel aviv yesterday pledging solidarity with israel. Today he is injordan, meeting the king, also the palestinian leader. How would you describe the nature of his mission . What exactly is he trying to achieve . Exactly is he trying to achieve . ,. , achieve . Certainly, for the United States, achieve . Certainly, for the United States, the achieve . Certainly, for the | United States, the massive concern obviously they want to stand behind israel. They are israels strongest ally but they also want to make sure that this does not burn into a wider regional conflagration and so that is why we have seen us warships sent into the mediterranean. They say to send a very strong signal to other actors in the region to not take advantage of this moment. They are concerned about, for example, has fuller in lebanon or iraq engaging and making this a regional conflict. Has fuller i think he is also going to the region to speak to other arab nations. There is a real push from the un at the moment to try to get countries like the United States that have some power to exert some pressure for a humanitarian corridor into gaza. Again, israel, we have heard from the israeli ambassador to the un saying they will not even discuss that until they have hostages released until their operation in gaza is complete. So at the moment, despite days of pleas for humanitarian corridor, and from other nations, not the United States, the United States has not heard from a ceasefire but we have heard that from others, despite all of that no movement on that front. We will see what Antony Blinken comes back with. I think another point in his trip, saudi arabia and israel were talking about normalising relations. He wants to make sure those talks do stay on track as well. A lot he will be discussing with the various leaders in the region. fik. Discussing with the various leaders in the region. 0k. The Israeli Government needs to get access to gaza to be able to do that, where hamas is obviously based on where the architect of the recent attack is located. In terms of the area of focus, the Israeli Government is going to have to collect a great amount of intelligence that they can leverage to find hamas leadership. That does take some time and at the same time, while the grounding in gaza goes forward, it is going to be very difficult because we have all seen the scenes in gaza, the rubble, it will be very difficult for counter insurrection when you have so many areas in which they can take advantage and you have hostages on the ground as well, whether as lack of information about their own location. Israel has told the United Nations that more than a million palestinians must leave the Northern Gaza Strip within the next twenty four hours. Stay with us on bbc news. Hello. Well, so far this month, many parts of the country have been experiencing unseasonably warm weather but now the transition to something colder is upon us and before that happens, a lot of rain through the early hours across many parts of england and wales. The Colder Weather has already reached scotland and Northern Ireland. The colder winds are coming in from the north, so clearer spells here and colder in the morning, but across the bulk of england and wales its overcast, outbreaks of rain heavy at times. This is the Weather Front and, once it clears away, that Colder Weather will sweep in from the north. So still a very mild morning in the south, the mid teens. And then its difficult to summarise the weather through friday across england and wales because it will change quite a bit from heavy rain to sunny spells, perhaps some thunderstorms, gusty winds. Its about 50 miles an hour on the south coast. So really changeable picture on friday across england and wales. But scotland and Northern Ireland hear different story, scattered clouds, a few showers, windy, cold winds in the north and temperatures around 12 degrees there in edinburgh. So once that Weather Front clears away friday night into saturday, it opens up the doors to those cold winds coming in from the north. Nothing particularly unusual for the time of the year. Its just that its going to be quite a shock to the system, especially for those of us that have been experiencing these high temperatures so far this month. So here it is saturday. The winds are coming in from the north now for a change rather than from the south. And these are the temperatures on saturday, 14. So a degree maybe or so around the average, colder than average i think in aberdeen, around eight degrees celsius. And then saturday night into sunday, the winds will fall light into the centre of the country and with clear skies, that means cold weather, a touch of frost, i think even barely above freezing in rural spots in the south of the country. But with that and with an area of High Pressure building over the uk, its going to be fabulously sunny apart from some showers in the northwest of scotland, but below average temperatures i think across the board, whether youre in the north or the south, itll be around say 10, 10 to 13 degrees. And that High Pressure is with us monday and into tuesday. Were right in the middle of that high. That means light winds, perhaps a touch of frosts and murky, foggy mornings. But i think towards the end of the week, it looks as though things could turn a little more unsettled and once again, a little milder. Thats it for me. Bye bye. Is just an impossible order for them to comply with. Live from london. This is bbc news. The dangers of de globalisation.
