It comes after two policemen were injured by a bomb attack in turkeys capital, ankara, which the pkk said one of its affiliates had carried out. Two attackers died in the blasts. Its the first such attack in the capital since 2016. The bomb exploded outside the headquarters of turkeys National Police force. In response, turley says it launched air strikes against the pkk, which operates across the kurdish populated regions of turkey, iran and iraq. Kurdish media says the strikes were targeted against the pkks stronghold in the qandil mountains, which straddle the iran iraq border.
