In saudi arabia for the murder of the journalist Jamal Khashoggi. The former love island presenter Caroline Flack has pleaded not guilty to assaulting her boyfriend at herflat in london. Boeing has announced that its chief executive Dennis Muilenburg is stepping down. Mr muilenburg has faced serious criticism in the aftermath of two major accidents involving boeings new 737 max planes in which a total of 346 people died. Last week the Company Announced it was halting production of the aircraft. In a statement the company said a change of leadership was needed to restore confidence. Our International Business correspondent theo leggett gave us some background a little earlier. He presided over an era where boeing came out with its flagship aircraft which we now know contained a flaw, which never should have got past regulators, and it was allowed to continue flying after the first of those two catastrophic accidents involving a plane of indonesia. The plane was allowed to keep flying and another one crashed a few months later in ethiopia. He has come underfire for presiding over an era where the company put production rates and the pursuit of profits over its safety, according to people. It says safety is its number one priority, it always has done, but there has been a lot of criticism of Dennis Muilenburgs response and his attempts to spread blame and say the accidents were part of a chain of events, even when trying to say we own this. I think his departure was inevitable. The fact it happened now has been triggered by the announcement last week that boeing was going to have to close down its plant in Washington State where it makes the plane. Boeing has been saying all year it wanted this aircraft are flying again by the end of the year, that is not going to happen. He has consistently had a problem with overoptimism but i suppose the underlying structural problem that they need to get the 737 max back into service, and yet they need to solve the underlying problem with its automated engine gear. That is something his successor will have to deal with now. His successor will have a bigger problem which is rebuilding confidence in the company. Boeing already has a solution to the problem, the software that is believed to have caused both of these accidents. It is still in negotiations with regulators about when the aircraft will get back in the air because it has to be unquestionably safe when it is allowed to fly again and the regulators own reputations are on the line. They are playing hard ball. But the successor David Calhoun has to say not only is aircraft is safe but the culture within boeing is safe, and there are plenty of people that will criticise it. He has to say to passengers, if you get on board this aircraft, you will not be in danger and that is the biggest challenge he will have to face. The professional footballers assocation has called for a government inquiry into racism in the sport after the chelsea player, antonio rudiger, complained of hearing monkey noises from the crowd during yesterdays premier league match at tottenham. Our sports correspondentjoe wilson is at tottenhams stadium. The stadium behind me is a gleaming addition to the british sporting landscape in itself, an advertisement to the power and wealth of the premier league, but far from futuristic, what happened here yesterday seems to be another worrying indication that things are going backwards. Professional footballer telling the referee, telling the world, he has heard monkey chants. Not on a distant football pitch in eastern europe, this was Chelseas Antonio Rudiger at tottenham hotspur, in englands capital city, famed, theoretically, for its diversity. Rudiger himself posted several tweets expressing his dismay at the incident but also stressing the importance of talking publicly about racism. So, it is notjust forgotten about, as he suggests, always happens. Rudiger also points out that in a modern ground like Tottenham Hotspurs with so many cameras in place, it should be possible to both isolate and punish the offender. Racist behaviour amongst spectators is interfering with the game. Please remember in football there is no place for racism. A warning was made over the loudspeaker three times at the game but there was no move to take the players off. A somewhat confused application of footballs racism protocol. The pfa which represents professional footballers now calls for more. It wants a government enquiry into racism in british football. At the moment, most decent people in this country, i think the majority, are being tarnished by the actions of a minority and all the great things we stood for in 2012, the olympics and all that inclusivity and tolerance, its been eroded slowly and we cant allow that to happen. When englands footballers faced racist chants and nazi salutes in bulgaria, englands manager always stressed there were problems at home to address. Well, he was right. This month there was racial abuse at manchester citys game with Manchester United and now rudigers experience at tottenham. These are just the high profile examples. These are the images the world sees. Now, the police have told us they made six arrests during the match here yesterday. They say none of those were related directly to the rudiger incident which they are still investigating, but they say one arrest was for a racially aggravated public order offence, which suggest to us, there was more than one isolated incident. Earlier i spoke to bobby barnes, the pfas deputy chief executive. Lets be clear about this, when we talk about racism in football, that is a very narrow definition, football in itself is not racism and its not divorced from wider society. People do not come to a football match and become racist. Theyre bringing those views from the Wider Community into the stadium and manifesting themselves in such a way as in any other walk of life they would face severe criminal action for what is effectively a hate crime. I mean, obviously there is cctv footage, there are lots of mobile phone cameras in the crowd, do you think the culprits will be quickly identified and dealt with at an individual level . I think with the modern technology, we have cctv in most crowds, i think it is not a real stretch to identify the people and i think the clubs when they are identified, the clubs do impose pretty long if not lifetime bans. The issue where it falls down, when they do come out of football system, if you like, into the widerjustice system, they tend to get sentences which are no more than a slap on the wrist. That hardly serves as a deterrent. You can have all the campaigns but ultimately we, as the pfa, the premier league, you know, do not have the powers to actually sanction members of public. That responsibility lies with the public authorities. And is that why you want the government inquiry, because you want those sanctions to be beefed up . Very much so, but equally we have a situation where football is the national sport. I think great merit can be had by working together to try and find solutions, without doubt we within the football world are committed to dealing with this problem and im sure the government would equally want to ensure they protect the National Game and also ensure that the laws of the land are respected, because you know the things that go on in football grounds and on social media are really a throw back to times that we thought we had left long behind us and my big concern is if we are not careful and dont preserve oui game as best we can and use what tools we can, we will be in a situation where potentially you have parents being turned off the game and saying, they will not want their children to come and watch the game. Prince charles is visiting people affected by flooding last month in the village of fishlake in South Yorkshire. Our correspondent dan johnson is there, dan. The prince has been there, what has he been doing and saying and what have people been saying to him . He has had quite a warm reception in a fish lake. You might think people have Better Things to be worrying about basing christmas not even in their homes, and as a people in this area, not just this their homes, and as a people in this area, notjust this village, but they were pleased to see the prince. They welcomed his visit and the attention it brings, the fact that someone attention it brings, the fact that someone is the period to see what they are suffering. The level of damage is intense and we are seven weeks on from when the flood hit this village and others along the river don and north nottinghamshire and derbyshire. Lots of areas, thousands of people across those three counties were affected but the prince came to meet some people here. He toured some of the houses, here. He toured some of the houses, he saw the Community Centre and a church that acted as a refuge for the village in the middle of the floods and heard some of the frustrations that people have about the flood protection that is in place for this village, they work that has been done further upstream that has been done further upstream that they feel has maybe sacrificed their village, and frustrations people have had getting pay outs on insurance. There has been a real problem with some people not having insurance or insurers not paying out, and the inefficiency, the amount of time it has taken to get things moving. People know this is not just a things moving. People know this is notjust a clear things moving. People know this is not just a clear app things moving. People know this is notjust a clear app that things moving. People know this is not just a clear app that will disrupt their christmas, this will ta ke disrupt their christmas, this will take months, if not even years. There are still teams going around clearing up the bits of rubble from the floods that hit at the start of november. You talk about the warmth of his reception, we are only a couple of days since the general election, we have seen calls today foran election, we have seen calls today for an overhaul, a government overhaul of the funding for flood defences. Some of the leading politicians in those areas that were hit, especially led by the elected mayor of South Yorkshire danjarvis was here to meet Prince Charles saying we need in effect a Corporate Committee for the north, the Emergency Committee that meets in london. They want that to be replicated on a regional scale so if there is a intense flood event or something similar in the north or a region of the country, they can have the same scale and speed of response you would get with something that would qualify as a National Emergency. This never did, even though people were crying out for that at the time and borisjohnson received a message directly when he came to visit. This was never declared a National Emergency so people want to see these events take more seriously, given what resources and funding, and the message with thatis and funding, and the message with that is that more money needs to go into flood protection and defence work, not just to into flood protection and defence work, notjust to protect the one village that may have been hit this time. People are crying out saying what needs to be examined more carefully is the impact that has further downstream. No good protecting this village, if next went to the one further down gets hit. Thank you. Five people have been sentenced to death by a court in saudi arabia for the murder of government critic Jamal Khashoggi in istanbul last year. 3 more have been givenjail sentences totalling 2a years. The prosecutor said Saoud Al Qahtani an important aide of Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman had been investigated but not charged and was released. The country faced International Condemnation for mr khashoggis murder in the saudi consulate in turkey last year; saudi arabia blamed it on what they called a rogue operation. Earlier i spoke to our middle east correspondent martin patience and i asked him whether saudi arabia will now be hoping to draw a line under the whole affair. I think with time, with these prosecutions, you are right. This has been saudi arabias worst diplomatic crisis in many years. The central contention, critics accused the saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman of being behind this killing or having known something about it. That is an accusation he has always denied but with these prosecutions, i think the saudi authorities will be hoping to draw a line under it. They were saying it was not premeditated but that has been called into question by a un expert who says two hours before the killing took place, some of the men who were found guilty of murdering Jamal Khashoggi were discussing his death. That suggests it was premeditated. She came out and said the hit men has been sentenced to death but the masterminds of this killing, they have not been touched by this investigation. I think saudi arabia will continue to face criticism but a year afterJamal Khashoggis death, they will be hoping that the rest of the world will move on. The key voices in the rest of the world are, to a certain extent, mr khashoggis family and government of allies, the british government, the american government. Tell us about reactions from these important quarters. I think absolutely critical in all of this will be washingtons reaction. According to reports in american newspapers, the ci concluded that mohammed bin salman, who is in effect the ruler of saudi arabia, must have at least known about this operation. America does not want to throw saudi arabia under a bus for a couple of reasons. One because it sits on huge oil wealth which is needed for the Global Economy but secondly, america sees saudi arabia as a critical ally in the fight against iran. What was seen as washington trying to manage this relationship, but i think all eyes will be on what perhaps President Trump or his senior aides, whether they are satisfied. I think many other western countries will take a cue from washington. The headlines on bbc news. The former love island presenter Caroline Flack has pleaded not guilty to assaulting her boyfriend at herflat in london. There are growing signs that the Islamic State group is re organising in iraq, two years after it lost the last of its territory there. Kurdish and western intelligence officials have told the bbc that is in iraq are now more skilled and more dangerous than alqaeda. Kurdish Security Forces are warning that history is in danger of repeating itself, as orla guerin reports. From a hilltop in northern iraq, a sweeping view of territory reclaimed from the Islamic State group. The kurdish peshmerga, who helped drive them out, tell us now they are making a comeback. The militants are exploiting an area of no mans land, disputed terrain between kurdish and iraqi forces. Looking at this territory here now right in front of us, do isis have free rein here now . Yes, i can say, yes. Especially between, the delta between the great zab and tigris river, they are permanent there. Are you worried . Of course. Of course im worried, because they are a really big threat. Day by day, we can see the movement of isis, the activities, they reorganise themselves. Is has done that an hours drive away in hawija, which was their last stronghold in iraq. The authorities have planted theirflag, but the militants are hunting local officials. Like the father of these children. He was a mukhtar, a village chief, who monitors comings and goings and informs the police. The youngest keep asking when daddys coming home. His mother is overwhelmed by grief. At the loss of her bright eyed boy, shot dead in october. She tells me he was their breadwinner, their guide and their shepherd. It is by night that is emerge, spreading their terror as before. This chilling propaganda video shows a mukhtar being led away to his death. Nine have been killed in hawija alone. The area is tense. We have to travel with an armed escort. Iraqi forces are facing an enemy that is close but hard to find. Well, is cant hold territory here any more, but they can still strike. Theyve been carrying out deadly attacks here, and they can still create fear among the local population. Many in the area are too frightened to speak. Militia fighters in hawija are on alert. One of their checkpoints was targeted earlier this month. Hussein hamada survived but saw two of his friends killed. Translation its very difficult. I still cannot sleep and i go to a psychologist. They were my guys. We would eat and drink and sleep together. They were my brothers. Since the caliphate crumbled, is has been driven underground to caves and tunnels beneath these mountains. But iraq has seen terror grow from these beginnings before. And the fear is a new threat is coming, for the region and the west. Orla guerin, bbc news, northern iraq. The presenter of the itv show love island, Caroline Flack, has pleaded not guilty to assaulting her boyfriend at herflat in north london. Helena wilkinson was in court and she updated us a little earlier. We also heard from Caroline Flacks defence solicitor that her boyfriend had given a statement which was read out in court. Her boyfriend does not support the prosecution case. He said he has never supported the prosecution case and he says he is not a victim, but the prosecution say they are going to continue with this case. The duke of edinburgh has spent a third night in hospital where hes being treated for what officials describe as a pre existing condition. He remains at the King Edward Viis hospital in central london, having travelled there on friday as a precautionary measure. Buckingham palace say the admission was for observation and treatment. Earlier during a visit to South Yorkshire, Prince Charles was asked about his father by a member of the public rich preston is outside the hospital in central london. What are the hospital saying and what did Prince Charles say in a nswer to what did Prince Charles say in answer to the question . We have had no official update from the hospital since that statement on friday which said the duke of edinburgh was coming into treatment and observation for that pre existing condition. They seem fairly relaxed and said this was a precautionary measure, and the duke came in under a court of his doctor. It is a small hospital in central london, has been treating the royal family for several years and members of the public were asking Prince Charles about his fathers health on his visit to fishwick. How is your father . Hes all right, once you get to that age, things dont work as well. So at some concern from members of the public asking Prince Charles, he said he is being taken good care of under good observation. I am sure they are hoping he will be out in time spent christmas with the family but no official update from the hospital or palace yet. Thank you very much. A major search operation is under way in east sussex to look for a firefighter who hasnt been seen since friday. Anthony knott, whos a father of four from orpington, went missing during a night out in lewes with friends and colleagues. Juliette parkin is in lewes for us. Whats the scale of the search operation there . The search here to date has been extensive. We have seen Emergency Services vehicles coming and going from here all day. Search and rescue teams have even been out searching the alleyways of various backstreets and going from place to place asking for cctv. It sits on the river i did teams have been out searching various waterways around this town. Anthony knott is a london firefighter but colleagues on the London Fire Service have been down here helping the local crews and police and the coast guard with the search. This is what the fire service told us earlier today about the extent of the search and rescue operation. When they were at the end, we know that anthony was there and it needed to step outside, either to take if uncle or a breath of fresh air, and the last acknowledgement of his whereabouts was around quarter past seven on friday. Either to take a phone call or a breath of fresh air. We know he was at the lamb inn . We understand he had come down here on a christmas night out with work colleagues, he arrived late afternoon, they had been to various pubs then went to lamb inn at about 730. He stepped outside to use his phone then lost contact with the group who moved on without him. It is believed he has not used his phone or bankers since friday evening. What is the advice to members of the public and want to help with the search . Volunteers turned up at the fire station this morning wanting to help out in some way with the search operation. They we re way with the search operation. They were given these flyers and told to ta ke were given these flyers and told to take them around the town, showing them to people. We have seen a number of these flyers put up in local shops and businesses. They can help in that way, they can help by calling the police if they have seen any sightings of Anthony Knott. They have been asked not to search any local waterways. There has been a lot of rain fell in the last couple of days in some areas are dangerously flooded. We understand that Anthony Knott has Young Children and we believe his partner is currently here speaking to police at this local police station. She and everybody involved in this search operation is very keen to find him as soon as possible. Very worrying. Thank you. Now its time for a look at the weather with darren. We lost an mp only four years ago and we think that was such a similar moment but that was such a similar moment but that has been and gone. I am talking aboutjo cox, that has been and gone and we have not used that as a moment to think, what are we doing here . It has got worse. How can that be . The australian prime minister, scott morrison, has restated his support of the coal industry, despite conceding that Climate Change is a factor in the extreme hot weather fuelling the countrys bushfires. Despite the heat easing today, more than 100 fires continue to burn across the state of new south wales. Phil mercer has more. The fires that have incinerated the land and left communities in ruins have been called monsters and beasts. Lives have been lost and hundreds of homes have been destroyed. A long drought has made the ground bone dry. Hot and windy weather has conspired to raise the threat level in parts of australia in recent days to catastrophic. Scott Morrisons Centre right government is an Ardent Supporter of the coal industry. It generates much of australias electricity and pumps billions into the economy. To some of his critics, he is a climate criminal. Mr morrison concedes there is a link between Global Warming and the bushfires, but he says there is no need to panic and impose new Carbon Emissions targets, which he calls reckless and job destroying. You dont run government on sentiment. You run government on the facts, and you run government on what you need to do to protect our environment, its sustainability for the future, to protect our economy and the jobs and livelihoods that australians depend upon. 100 blazes still burn in new south wales. Some are so big theyll only be extinguished by heavy rain that might be months away. This is a national crisis. Fires are menacing communities in the states of South Australia and victoria. Western australia and queensland have had dangerous days, too. Bushfires have always been part of the australian story, but this fire season has not only started earlier than usual it is far more intense and could get worse. Phil mercer, bbc news, sydney. A 36 year old woman, who was injured in a bus crash in swansea earlier this month, has died. Jessica jing ren, who was a visiting academic at the citys university, was on the double decker when it hit a bridge. Rhys williams reports. Sorry, we dont seem to have that report. We will bring it to you in a couple of minutes. The former labour leader, ed miliband, is to take part in a review examining the partys heavy defeat in the general election. The activist group, labour together, is setting up a commission tasked with mapping out a route back to power. The review will be led by the former shadow education secretary, lucy powell. I spoke to lucy powell a little earlier on, she explained what the review was trying to achieve. We are looking to have a comprehensive, objective and inclusive process taking us into the new year where we hear from members, activists, defeated candidates, pollsters and others and we are also going to talk to the public in many of the seats that we lost in this election, to really work out what are some of the underlying trends, some of the issues that we have faced and how we might seek to address them. So that we can produce ahead of hopefully the ballots going out for the leadership race, we can produce a really big piece of work that withstand the test of time and to help shape and chart that way back for the labour party over the coming years. One thing that will puzzle some observers is that you have invited a former leader of the party who lost an election. Have you also invited the former leader of the party who won several elections . Actually you learn much more from doing things badly and wrong orfor making mistakes then you often do from learning other things, but ed miliband, yes, he is a former leader but he is also a current mp. He is very relevant to the debate were having today. Represents one of the seats that is so called part of the red wall where there was a big swing away from labour and he like many other mps and activists has spent many, other mps and activists has spent any other mps and activists has spent many, many days and hours over the last weeks and months knocking on doors and speaking to the electorate stop he is very relevant to today and he has got that experience. Of not just being part and he has got that experience. Of notjust being part of an Election Campaign himself but from being in the topjob in campaign himself but from being in the top job in the Labour Party Campaign himself but from being in the topjob in the labour party in understanding the pressures of that. A wide range of people. If i can just pursue the point. Some would say a failure to look hard at what went wrong in 2017 and a failure to really face up to mistakes then is one of the things that went wrong in 2019 for your party. We have lost four elections in a row now and we havent actually taken the time to look deeply at what has been going on in those elections. Sorry, but in which case why bring on a person who fell to look, why bring ed miliband when he failed to look hard at what went wrong when he was in charge. We should have looked at 2015 and im sure he would have advocated that as well, but the answers dont lie in the past to this. The answers lie in the past to this. The answers lie in the future. We had to learn the lessons from the past and everybody has something to contribute in learning those lessons but i suppose what i would say in response to that, if people think the answers only lie in winning an election 22 yea rs only lie in winning an election 22 years ago, before the Global Financial crisis, before brexit, before mps expenses, before we had some of the wars and humanitarian crises, i think they would be just as wrong as well. The answer to this light in the future. The Electoral Coalition that the labour party now needs to win back is a very different electoral challenge, the one that tony blair faced, when he was standing as labour leader. You could bank on dozens of returning labour mps could bank on dozens of returning labourmps in could bank on dozens of returning labour mps in scotland where we now have one, in wales where we have lost many and right across the north and midlands, seats that have been labourfor100 years and midlands, seats that have been labour for 100 years that are no longer labour and some of those trends are not just longer labour and some of those trends are notjust about longer labour and some of those trends are not just about this longer labour and some of those trends are notjust about this one election or just about this one trends are notjust about this one election orjust about this one or one particular leader. These are trends that have been coming for a while as well and unless we actually look at those and try to reconnect with some communities we have lost touch with, it will not matter who becomes the next leader because that alone will not suffice. One more question which is do you think that there is any chance that your party can actually learn from the lesson is that it derives and put them into practice given that critics would say it is in the fall of several large vested interests and sectional interests and therefore it willjust do what is in the interests of those groups are . That is one of the things we are trying to overcome. Labour brings together people from all different traditions and factions within the labour party. Whether you are momentum or progress, your voice is important and you want to hear from you and from local government, trade union movement, scotland, wales and eve ryo ne movement, scotland, wales and everyone else too because if now is not the moment for us actually to put aside some of those factional, sectional interests and start to come together, if now after this really big defeat in this election is not the time to do that then i dont know when is and we all want, most people in the Labour Party Want to see a party that can win and win elections again. We also want to see a party that is unified and most of all you want to see a party rooted in our values. As we mentioned a short while ago, a 36 year old woman who was injured in a bus crash in swansea earlier this month has died. Pilots and cabin crew, their dreams over. The collapse of thomas cook has left a devastating legacy than three months on, many still cant comprehend. Being a stewardess for thomas cook defined me, and thats gone now. That feeling of loss, you know, wheres my career gone . I couldnt even get dressed. I couldnt face the world. Now, as christmas approaches, scores of former staff like betty and ian, whove waited months for benefits, say theyve been badly let down. You realise youre just a number. It doesnt matter what you have contributed or done. You are made to feel that it all doesnt matter, these are the rules, thats what they do and that is the end of it. Ex employees say they were given conflicting advice as to whether they were entitled to jobseekers alliance or universal credit. Some cases have been closed and some have still not received £50 in 12 weeks. I had to wait five weeks for my first payment to come through, which was fine, but the day before the payment was due they closed my claim and basically told me because ive made too much money, but the money i had was my redundancy money from thomas cook but i havent claim anything so im living off savings now. The job centre there. Ian, a pilot for four decades, admits hes had a better time at hisjob centre in chorley. We were looked after and given a lot of help, but speaking to my colleagues, i know some of them were treated pretty appallingly. Within the last week, i have speaking to dozens of former thomas cook employees from across the country. While some have managed to find work, others have had a much tougher time and they claim its because thejob centre has poorly advised them and many are not willing to speak on camera in case it damages their prospects even further. I spoke to my friends a few days ago and they havent got any otherjob yet because they cant face going to an interview, cant face going out of the house and theyre still really struggling. They told us their dedicated staff have helped thousands and they urge people to stay in contact with theirjob centres so they can urgently fix their claims. Tens of thousands of people in the uk use british sign language. Now a scientist from Leeds University is helping to update it, creating signs for describing the latest discoveries in the world of astronomy. This report, by our science correspondent victoria gill, will be translated simultaneously into bsl. So far, we have looked at some simple terms, such as the moon, sun, Northern Lights and some of the planets like saturn and jupiter, but we definitely need more new signs. Explaining the mysteries of our universe is tricky in any language, but in british sign language for many of the latest discoveries in the astrophysical world there simply are no words, so those words, new astronomical signs, are being created. The planets that you will find in protoplanetary discs are not the same as the extra planets that we observe in planetary systems. Teaming up with british sign language linguists, one astrophysicist is helping to develop signs to encourage deaf astronomers, students and enthusiasts, to join the celestial conversation. It is a field of science that is rapidly advancing and it needs new language to be able to communicate these new discoveries. Ifind personally its really so exciting that i could actually design a sign myself together with them, i could input into what the sign would be and it would be there forever in the british sign language, so, wow, i find that amazing. Ok, so it is not implying an orbit. It is more than 20 years since the discovery of the first planet outside of our solar system, the first known exoplanet. Exoplanet. Today in this small workshop that discovery is finally being given a sign. For some of these complicated concepts there are foundations in language that already exist, so there is a sign for planet, but there is no sign for exoplanet, so that could be a planet that is far away. So it is about building on the foundations that already exist as well as visualising the science. Once the new sign has been decided on it is added to a video dictionary. This project has made me realise how useful it is. Ive been involved in astronomy for a while but ive realised how valuable these new terms are going to be for members of the deaf community. Actually, its increased my interest as well and given open access for other people. So i think its very important and i think its important that this happens across a range of science subjects. So beyond just looking at the stars, the hope is that more people will feel empowered to talk about and really see the latest discoveries about the universe. Victoria gill, bbc news. Still cold in the north of scotland after what has been a frosty day for some places today. The main weight of rain will push away into the southern north sea so it should turn drier in Northern England. To the south a little sunshine but also some showers. Some could be heavy particularly toward south west. Temperatures of 12 degrees. Largely dry in scotland and Northern Ireland. Those numbers will drop a bit during the night as well. One or two show first thing across northern scotla nd two show first thing across northern scotland but on the whole it will be dry, lots of sunshine. Northern ireland probably clouding over more during the afternoon and those temperatures may be a shade lower for southern parts of the uk, eight or9 for southern parts of the uk, eight or 9 degrees, six or seven further north. The weather changes on boxing day because the High Pressure gets squeezed away by this low pressure area and these weather fronts. The low Pressure Centre is subject to change. It is moving further north now so a band of rain moving across the whole of the country. This likely to be heavier and for awhile they could be some snow over the higher ground, the northern pennines and the scottish mountains.
