Arsenal and everton are in new talks its like the word moves. So just for new managers. Several jedi its like the word moves. So just severaljedi are stilljust a jedi. A story of Christmas Joy acorss the generations what happened when young and old got together for a festive celebration. Weve been hearing about how london good morning. Its beginning to look fire brigade has been criticised by inspectors, saying its not a lot like christmas here in covent well run. Garden in london, despite the fact weve been hearing this morning how that its raining. This rain will the london fire brigade has been criticised by inspectors, slowly from the south east through saying its not well run, the day. When the fog lifts, many of and needs to improve. Her majestys inspectorate of fire and rescue services said the brigade us the day. When the fog lifts, many of us will have a dry day but still had been slow to make changes which were needed after some showers in the north west. More the Grenfell Tower fire. We can speak now to matt parr, who carried out that inspection. Details later stop good morning. Give us a few details of the things you are most struck by later stop annual report. It is quite a critical report, actually. Almost the Prime Minister borisjohnson dont know where to start. What is planning to make it illegal for parliament to extend the brexit people have been most concerned about is the training of people that process beyond the end of next year. Are incident commanders. If there is hell add a clause to his Withdrawal Agreement bill, which will go before mps on friday. Are incident commanders. If there is a fire are incident commanders. If there is afire in are incident commanders. If there is a fire in london, the london fire our Political Correspondent brigade is well resourced. Lots of helen catt is in westminster. Helen, what more can you tell fire engines, they will get there us about this process . Really quickly but the incident commanders who are going to be in just tells a bit about what you know so just tells a bit about what you know charge of events, we cant see a so far. Yes, we saw Boris Johnson decent training package for them that reassures the brigade and indeed reassures londoners that they last night admitting his new mps. Hes got that majority in have got the right skills and they parliament. This is the sort of are in date. Will they need to be in difference that majority government your view immediate action about makes. It had been thought he would that specifically . We have said this use these numbers to go towards a softer brexit because he doesnt need to keep the harder ones in his is very concerning, its not the only thing worrying us in the report party on side because of new but thats one of the things and its parliamentary numbers but it seems thatis parliamentary numbers but it seems that is not the case. What we say training in general, weve seen fire that. In borisjohnsons withdrawal engines being driven by people who havent had Refresher Training for 20 years, thats not right either so agreement, once that. In borisjohnsons Withdrawal Agreement, once we leave at the end of january, we going agreement, once we leave at the end ofjanuary, we going to a transition period where they try to negotiate a i think of all the priorities in this report, the first one has got new trade deal. Everything stays the to bea this report, the first one has got to be a big overhaul of the training programme. Lets just talk about same. In the original Withdrawal Agreement, this oven ready brexit that particular role. It is key to deal we heard about over the what controlling a situation is, isnt it . Thats absolutely right. Election campaign, there was a provision to extend that for another this report is not a revisit of what two years provision to extend that for another two yea rs before provision to extend that for another two years before negotiations were going slowly. That is what boris went wrong at grenfell. Thats been covered separately by the enquiry. Johnson intends to take out. Critics what worries us as some of the themes that came up are reflected in say that, but what happens if we dont have one. It doesnt mean we our report and we did our fieldwork two years later and some of the put no deal brexit back on the things we were clearly worried about table . In all that talk with had are still there. One of our utter over the Election Campaign of this other criticisms of the brigade is oven ready brexit deal, there was no you dont think they are sense this was something that Doris Johnson was planning to sprinkle in particularly good at getting new practices in quickly. We had a the last moment, if you like, and it statement from london fire brigade, would be interesting to see if that comes as a surprise would be interesting to see if that comes as a surprise to some voters. That is some of those in the talking about learning from different incidents. Talking about a backbenches. We will talk about that range of new procedures especially with michael gove a bit later. He since the grand belltower fire. They include fire escapes, drones and new technology. Have you seen evidence had a mini reshuffle last night, of that and will it make a most notable were not reshuffling difference . That is fair and the the biggest position. Nikki morgan stays as the culture secretary, things andy rose highlighted, we picked them up in our report and we welcome it. I would say, its really saying its hard to leave the encouraging that the brand new cabinet. She didnt stand at this commissionerfor london encouraging that the brand new election so she is instead being commissioner for london has made appear in the house of lords. Recognised and accepted the criticism weve made of the report she will stay on as the culture secretary until we think the end of and has expressed his determination february. There is also a new to sorted out before we come back secretary of state for wales this and inspect them again. People morning. Well be talking to the cabinet living in london, hearing what you minister michael gove are saying will be concerned about at half past seven. Possible fires in the future. One of various politicians coming your way. The things this is thrown up, fire the aircraft manufacturer boeing says it will be suspending production of 737 max jets next month. Bens here to tell us more. And rescue across england, before wed come in and done this, there hadnt been an inspection programme. London fire brigade arent the only people who have issues but this does show the benefit of having an they have had some bad accidents. Inspection regime and we should be they have had some bad accidentsm doesnt draw a line on the whole backin project but it does put it on hold inspection regime and we should be back in london within a year or two. And were talking about the 737 max its about the system, not individual firefighters. Ive got friends were firefighters. Weve which was involved in two fatal seen great people, dedicated public crashes with over 300 lives lost. Servants, and i think whenever there is criticism in our reports, there the regulator said, were not happy for you to keep flying until you make major changes. Boeing had been is criticism in our reports, there is never front line staff, is criticism in our reports, there is neverfront line staff, the criticism is about how the brigade hoping it would be solved by the end is run and its run from the top, of this year, that the plane would be back in the air by the end of the really. We understand the year that is clearly not going to happen. They got so many planes and storage, 400 complete 737 maxjets commissioner, dany cotton, saw your findings before leaving the role early. To think that was one of the that are simply ready to fly but are reasons why she leave early . early. To think that was one of the reasons why she leave early . I have no idea. She did see the report. Not able to and they are going to suspend production of new ones until ican get suspend production of new ones until i can get those up and running. The regulator says it is happy with some of the progress made but isnt happy theyve got a lot on their plate. Enough to let them fly again, given those fatal accidents. And that thank you very much for your time this morning. Means quite clearly some significant costs. Ive been looking at the carols in Covent Garden this morning bringing us some christmas cheer. Numbers. Saying it will cost them about 9 billion so far, this lots of festive cheer and there she suspension could cost them even more is. Below the apple market. Good on what they need to do is make sure they are able and safe to be up and running before they can start making morning. What a treat it is to be new ones but the implications for other airlines are pretty here in Covent Garden this morning. Significant. You have that, and we as dan said, this used to be the will carry on. Fruit and veg market in Covent Garden but became what it is now in the 70s. You get lots of craft inspectors have criticised the london fire brigade, saying it is not well run, stalls, lots of restaurants, that and needs to improve. Kind of thing. Strict we might be her majestys inspectorate of fire and rescue services said over but we still have a glitter the brigade had been slow ball. Look at that twinkling away to implement the changes which were needed after and all the lights. And notjust a the Grenfell Tower blaze, in which 72 people died. Glitter ball, we also have annie our Home Affairs Correspondent know s bauble as well. You can see tom symonds reports. Our reflections on that one there as well. And if youre coming down here its a tough, physicaljob, even with somebody you love, well, look when there are no flames and at the size of the mistletoe. Its firefighters are just demonstrating john almost. Its nice and dry typical procedures. Todays report makes no criticism of those on the frontline but it says the london fire brigade is not well run. Its because outside, it is still pouring buckets. The forecast for today is a slow to learn lessons and has a long wet one in the south east, some of way to go in improving its us will see some sunshine but first efficiency. There is one particular thing in the morning, there is some patchy fog and ice to watch out for. Concern, not enough training, especially for incident commanders and training which is not pass or if you are travelling early on, do bear that in if you are travelling early on, do fail. So what happens if officers bearthat in mind. If you are travelling early on, do bear that in mind. The setup todays weve got low pressure to the dont perform well . Nothing. No, north west and we got a weather front in the south east and its that weather front that is producing they are just back on the system. What do you think of that . We said the rain. Through the course of the day, will slowly ease towards the east but it will is going to have a it is one of the most worrying wave on it. It may look like the causes concerned. Thats why we said rain is ending but it will come back again through the day. We also have we graded the training as london fog this morning to watch out for. Fire does as inadequate, its got to sorted out. Which is significant because it is now more than a year some of that will be quite slow to than the bin london fire clear. Most of it should lift and commissioner told the Grenfell Tower public enquiry. I wouldnt expect for many, dry with some sunny us public enquiry. I wouldnt expect us to be developing training or response to something that simply spells. Still some showers crossing shouldnt happen. Meaning a spa on scotla nd spells. Still some showers crossing scotland through the day. The scale fire on the scale of grenfell. She has now resigned, temperatures generally in the range 57d but partly because of todays report. Temperatures generally in the range 5 7d but in the south, a little bit the new commissioner says he is higher than that. As we head through committed to making improvements. The evening and overnight, it dries australia is braced for extreme temperatures this week, which could bring the nations hottest day on record. Up authorities have issued fresh warnings the evening and overnight, it dries up and its going to be a quiet about bushfires as forecasters night weatherwise but we are predict temperatures could break expecting fog to form, anywhere from the record set in southern australia, in 1960 when a high of more than 50 east wales to the midlands, into degrees was recorded. East wales to the midlands, into 0ur reporter phil mercer east anglia. Also in the south west, the cloud will be building ahead. Joins us from sydney. Thanks are coming on the programme. Some of us will also have some frost the numbers are pretty ridiculous. In the morning. Tomorrow we start what is expected in australia this week . What weve seen is this off with that dog. Tomorrow, the massive hot air across the east will be best but cooler in the australian continent from west to west. Much windier and east will be best but cooler in the east and what that could mean. For west. Much windierand rain. Gusts of wind, 45 55 in the west, more example, South Australia could have back to back days of 49 and 50 than that with exposure. By the time we get to thursday, all the rain celsius. Here in New South Wales, we coming and is going to be pushing northwards with some showers behind have 110 bushfires still raging, it and it will dry up later on in many out of control and the fear is the other thing you will notice that this burst of heat will about thursday is its going to be exacerbate the fire threat, parts of milder across the board. It is syd ney lovely here. And i can say is, in exacerbate the fire threat, parts of sydney expected to swelter through march to this, keep dancing. Conditions of 44, 40 five celsius. So you have to remember that of all the Natural Hazards in australia, we think of bushfires, we think of look at the right, a giant storms, heatwaves are by far the mistletoe. It looks so spectacular. Most deadly of those natural she has no one to give a kiss to hazards. More australians die in heatwaves than all of those other though. Someone will come and find Natural Hazards put together so the her. Dont say that laughter moving authorities, for example, in South Australia have issued a code red warning for Vulnerable People so much of australia expected to swelter through these extreme conditions, adding to very dry on. Ive onlyjust recovered from the fact that my mum,. This is important. I had a perfect millennium falcon. My mum gaveit perfect millennium falcon. My mum gave it to somebody and swapped it. What was your reaction to the numbers . Very accurate. My immediate my gave it to somebody and swapped it. My mum swapped it. 29 years ago she worry was for my closest friends in south wales because it seemed to indicate that we were losing more did that. She swapped it made of seats than we did. If im honest, i wasnt surprised. I felt it on the doorstep and the day in the pouring hers to get a little barbie car. Did that. She swapped it made of hers to get a little barbie canm still hurts. Ive moved on. It could rain in the rhondda and then later on cardiff north and many of us felt it was coming because we walked into a trap. Its my biggest worry. Bea still hurts. Ive moved on. It could be a big week for arsenal or whoever is the next leader of the Labour Party Needs to show that everton. Its looking more understand quite how bad a result this was. Bad because people like me and more likely. Mikel arteta will be to represent some of the poorest the new arsenal manager. Hes currently pep guardiolas constituencies in the land will find assistant at Manchester City, and finished his playing career it 100 times more difficult to be at arsenal where he was captain. Able to deliver for the waspi women club bosses were spotted outside artetas house on monday morning, and they are now in talks with city. Or miners widows who dont get as much from the pension. It makes it ten times more difficult. When you everton are also after a new manager and theyve made Carlo Ancelotti their first choice. Talk about understanding how bad a result it was, what is the atmosphere going to be like, there will be some of a different opinion, the same thoughts we saw from jeremy corbyn, that the argument was one but the election was lost. You dont win the argument unless you win the he was sacked by napoli last week, election, to be honest, and in many but had Great Success at chelsea ways i think we lost the argument where he won the premier league and the election before the election and fa cup in 2010. Started. We should never have voted everton have yet to make an offer to the italian, but they will step up their efforts to bring him for this general election at this to merseyside this week. To italy next, where the top league time, that was a strategic error but serie a has been heavily there is a much bigger point in a criticised for a new anti racism way which is this the fourth general campaign. This is it. It uses images of monkeys election defeat for us in a row and with painted faces. The artist who designed them says they are the metaphor at each stage, weve been getting, for human beings. There have been big problems with racism in italian football we are winning fewer and fewer seats recently, and just three weeks ago and fewer votes so thats a real clubs in serie a said they would do more to tackle the problem. Problem for a long term trajectory the anti Discrimination Group fare so my point is, its not that im has responded on social media. It says the images are an outrage arguing we should suddenly reverse and counter productive. Every single policy decision with they also said that the campaign was like a sickjoke. Made, its more that our trajectory, 0ne game in the premier league last night, and it was wilfied zaha who stole the show with a lovely solo goal to save a point for crystal we are on the wrong trajectory. Palace against brighton. There is no guaranteed right for any a nice way for roy hodgson Political Party to survive or even to celebrate his 100th game in charge of palace, be the main opposition party. We really have got to get our act together. That means listening far more to people in communities like who are now up to 9th in the table. Mine and more to people in communities like mine and i represent a former mining constituency with really significant problems. We dont have the benefits Manchester City against of some of the big cities and it is real madrid looks to be the most enticing tie the kind of place where weve done really badly. Im very fortunate that ive managed to retain my seat from the draw for the last 16 with a decent majority but we really have got to listen to those communities around the whole of the country. We are offering genuine hope and notjust the kind of pie in liverpool under 23s coach Neil Critchley says theyre notjust throwing a Team Together to play the sky version of hope but a real aston villa in the quarter finals opportunity of hope and change. Will of the efl cup tonight. The reds will field a youthful side you, and im sure you and others , with the senior team facing monterrey in the semi finals we re you, and im sure you and others were raising these genuine concerns, of the Club World Cup in qatar tomorrow. The group of players that will take and the builder before its called. The pictures is one that we that co nsta ntly. The pictures is one that we that constantly. It not like were what was the response from others in throwing a Team Together. We will be the party . To be honest, its what nearly everybody was saying. We are well prepared, weve got enough time, we will know how we are going also throwing resources and all the to approach the game and its wrong places. It seems like somebody important we play like a liverpool decided, we made another strategic error, that we were going to try to team. Win an extra hundred seats. When you are making the point, what was the former wales backs coach response . There wasnt much of a rob howley has been banned response, to be honest, pretty much from rugby for 18 months, a blank because i think people with nine suspended, for betting on matches, thought that people like myself. We including wales games. The suspension is backdated to his withdrawal from wales World Cup Campaign in september. We re thought that people like myself. We werejeremiah thought that people like myself. We were jeremiah or cassandra crying the panel whojudged howley found thought that people like myself. We werejeremiah or cassandra crying in the wind but we really have, we that from november 2015 to september this year he put 363 bets cannot afford to continue to make strategic errors like these in the on rugby union matches. Future and i havent got a candidate, i dont know im going to end up supporting but me, the most important thing is that the next and finally, we like to bring leader needs to be able to show in you people who are sucessful at more very short order that they than one sport. Understand why this catastrophe world chess champion Magnus Carlsen is top of the premier leagues fantasy football rankings. Heres the norwegian grand master in the dayjob. Happened last week, as a strategy for dealing with turning that while his chess game is more deliberate, he says his Fantasy Football Team selections are based partly on stats and partly around, and this is going to be a on gut feeling. Massive mountain to climb, 123 seats we re massive mountain to climb, 123 seats were got to win an next general election of the conservatives were got to make inroads again in wales and scotland as well so this is going to be no mean seat and incidentally, i would say i dont absolve people of myself like there he is, that is what we were myself of some of the blame, i think waiting for. That is his name at the the whole of the labor party has questions to answer. We need to do some really deep soul searching going to find the answers of the future. We cannot possibly continue as an option with half the dlp and half of the Parliamentary Labour Party sort of in high dudgeon with the other half of the party so thats the other thing im going to look for in the next leader and deputy leader and for that matter, shadow cabinet which is, its got to bea shadow cabinet which is, its got to be a unity first strategy. Alistair mcgovern felt the next labour leader needed to be a woman. Do you agree with that . Probably needs to be a woman. Nearly all the candidates who seem to be making the pace seem to be women and i think that would be good for us and we are fortu nate. That would be good for us and we are fortunate. We are now the first, apart from the greens, may be, because Caroline Lucas has been their only mp, more than 50 of the Labour Party Parliamentarians are women and that is a real acid and strategically for the future, we need to be able to win over more women. need to be able to win over more women. Asset. I think the slogan we had was misguided and i worry about the right wing drift of the conservative party. But if you knocked on the door, we were saying a new thing every single day of the week. I happen to prefer the 2017 ma nifesto week. I happen to prefer the 2017 manifesto because i thought it was clearer and more precise but i like a lot of the policies this year. I think this is less about policy and more about having that strategic vision. If they supported us going into this elephant trap of this general election, have they learnt a lesson . Would you then support rebecca long bailey . Lesson . Would you then support rebecca long bailey . lesson . Would you then support Rebecca Longbailey . I have not heard anything from rebecca yet. Not me personally but she has not been out there saying what her strategy is and what happen in the general election. I am still in the very early stages and by the way i am not standing. No one is asking that but a lot of people thinking of sending for this that and the next thing and i want to play my part, i think some of us made a strategic error of our own back into thousand 16 after the referendum result, sort of stormed out. The first thing we have to do is bea out. The first thing we have to do is be a really good opposition. People before the general election we re people before the general election were saying youre not much shape as an opposition, how can you be good asa an opposition, how can you be good as a government. 0ne an opposition, how can you be good as a government. One thing that stinks for the new government, the culture secretary saying i cannot be bothered to stand for a constituency but stays on in the government. You are referring to nicky morgan and we will ask that question of michael gove. Thank you for clearing up the fa ct gove. Thank you for clearing up the fact about whether you were standing for leadership or not. Laughter i feel terribly upset now, you are laughing. Iam feel terribly upset now, you are laughing. I am a loving because you are laughing. If you would like to declare you want to stand today, thatis declare you want to stand today, that is fine. No, ijust want us to represent mike constituency my, and to think with a deep seated problem is, what i will be able to achieve is limited because of them will be a tory government for the next four and a half years. I have not done any crying about it yet because im still sort of. I was not surprised but i am shocked. You consider running for deputies so you not too far off. I think i am not going to go anywhere near that. Lots of much better people much Better Qualified to be able to do that but it is an important thing. People like myself, all of us, have to be prepared to take apart in the leadership of the labour party if thatis leadership of the labour party if that is what others want. Maybe nobody wants to be anywhere near that leadership team, again. Laughter. That leadership team, again. Laughter. But the shadow cabinet made a massive strategic error in going for this general election and some of us made a strategic error in storming out of the shadow cabinet and we need to be a party of unity to go forward and take the fight to the government. Thank you for your time. It is so interesting, the time of the interviews. Michael gove coming up in about ten minutes as well. Carols in Covent Garden this morning bringing us some christmas cheer. I was there recently, it is looking stunning. Is that snow . It is but it is not real snow, i do not want to fool you. At the same time, we will have both sides of the weather front coming into the south west, introducing mcleod. Temperature wise, around freezing orjust below. Some areas will see a touch of frost. Tomorrow morning, we start with the fog. Some will be slow to lift. The east will be drier and brighter. The west is wet and windy. We are talking to the little boy with a prosthetic arm which is just been fitted. It is designed into their style of the incredible hulk. He is able to hug his little brother for the first time. He and his parents found themselves in a situation where he was being frustrated at school, picked on and bullied so they crowd funded £16,000, found someone who could design an amazing prosthetic arm and i love the fact that technically the way he gets the fingers and thumbs together is to squeeze and airbag up here. We will speak to him later on the programme. Time now to get the news, travel and weather where you are. Good morning, im asad ahmad. Im back with the latest from the bbc london newsroom in half an hour. Hello, this is breakfast with Louise Minchin and dan walker. Our main story this morning any delays to brexit beyond the end of next year will be made illegal under new plans from the government. As it stands, the post brexit transition can be extended by up to two years from the end of 2020. But the Prime Minister borisjohnson will remove that option from his Withdrawal Agreement bill, which will go before mps on friday. Lets talk now to his cabinet colleague, michael gove, who is in westminster. A little bit later this week, we will have a queen speech. And then on friday, will bring back the bill which will make sure we leave the European Union and are parliament will ensure that is done by the 31st of january stop we talk about what you mean by being done. The chances ofa you mean by being done. The chances of a complete deal by next december is unrealistic, and will only be the bare bones. Will formally leave the European Union, on 31st ofjanuary, thats it. And then will have conversations about a new relationship being based on the trade and friendly cooperation in the political declaration that the eu have signed up that commits them to finishing those conversations by the end of 2020. We had reaction from the cbi, Carolyn Fairburn saying one of the things that is really important to understand is, living through the last three years, these rolling cliff edges, climbing down again could not be more damaging. Lets make sure we dont end up with none of the cliff edge. You are saying it will all be over what is it me the business was waiting for these conversations be finished . I think weve seen some of the reaction just finished . I think weve seen some of the reactionjust in finished . I think weve seen some of the reaction just in the last day or two. Yesterday, the stock exchange, the measure of confidence in British Companies rose dramatically. Business recognises the certainty of a majority conservative government allows them to invest with confidence and that is good news in particular for jobs confidence and that is good news in particularforjobs and confidence and that is good news in particular forjobs and of course, i will be working with business to make sure we pass on new confidence to workers and higher wages. This is go back to that. Well be up by December Next year. I want to be clear because you talk about other conversations. What will wont be done, how can businesses be certain how trade is going to work from the date . Will be outside the Single Market and outside the Customs Union and that means we will have an opportunity to regulate our businesses in a way that makes sure they can we can take on more workers, paid in higherwages they can we can take on more workers, paid in higher wages and produce more effectively and will be able to trade with other countries across the world on new terms, there are rich opportunities for business and the conservative majority the voters insured was in Parliament Gives us a Firm Foundation on which business and citizens can have. there is no deal by the date, does that mean there is a hard brexit or not . The brexit we are committed to delivering is in our manifesto. We need to make sure that we honour that. One of the problems with the last parliament is there were mps in the parliament to promised we would leave the European Union and did not honour that promise. There is a clear signalfrom the honour that promise. There is a clear signal from the voters they wa nt clear signal from the voters they want exit done. The Prime Minister recognises that is a commitment that we have to keep. I want to ask you what you think about this. The Power Parliament is taken away and making it enshrined in law, you dont give it enshrined in law, you dont give itan it enshrined in law, you dont give it an opportunity to scrutinise everything. Parliament will be scrutinising both the Withdrawal Agreement bill and other legislation. The bill will be scrutinised in debt by the house of commons and the house of lords. There will be days during which mps can ask those tough questions. It was in 2016 people voted to leave and they want us to get on with it. Of course they Want Parliament to do thejob properly. Of course they Want Parliament to do the job properly. If there is no deal, we leave anyway. Were going to leave on the 31st of january and the political declaration which goes alongside the Withdrawal Agreement commits both sides to making sure the follow up conversations are concluded by the end of 2020. Does that mean you could enter a period of time with no dealing place for the eu . Were going to make sure get this done in time. In the past, he was committed to changing the Withdrawal Agreement. Changing the backstop as well. At the time people said, you cant change this. As far asi said, you cant change this. As far as i can work it out, you seem to be avoiding the question. Weve heard from the eu, only a barebones deal would be available. We will get a deal on the political declaration commits both to that. The European Union have committed to getting a deal by that time. Can i also ask you, theres been so much change in the last few days in the conservative party now has voters have never voted conservative before. What are you going to do to improve their lives . A huge amount. As the Prime Minister said, their fingers may have hovered over the ballot paper before they decided to put their trust in us. Its a humbling thing to have so many back the conservative government. We need to keep our promises and brexit done. We also need to make sure we invest in the National Health service and there will be legislation that commits us to a funding guarantee for the nhs and we need to level our Educational Opportunity across this country. 0pportunities not spread across this country so we need to invest in making sure schools and in particular further education are provided for people. We need them and we need to make sure we invest in our police force in order to on the nhs, this was talked about over the nhs, this was talked about over the weekend. This new bill to enshrined in law extra money. Youre making these promises. Does it need to be enshrined in law . Parliament matters in the legislation matters. 0ne matters in the legislation matters. One of the things about leaving the European Union is there is more powerful parliament in passing this law is a guarantee on our part that the nhs is our number one domestic priority. It will receive the funding and the support and the leadership needs in order to be there for everyone when they needed. 0ne there for everyone when they needed. One other question, we understand nikki morgan is no longer an mp, she will go to the house of lords but she is staying on as culture secretary. It does that work . She is brilliant. Nikki is an absolutely outstanding minister. Its really great she is still in the cabinet. Do you think its acceptable that somebody has not even an mp is making an important decision. Those who are outstanding public figures in the cabinet. Andrew adonis and peter mandelson, you have someone, and want to have them. We want to make sure we roll out broadband. Also working in our world cup bid for the future and making sure the Rugby League World cup is a big success. I dont know about that. The decision of who sits in the cabinet for the Prime Minister but its just wonderful cabinet for the Prime Minister but itsjust wonderful nikki cabinet for the Prime Minister but its just wonderful nikki is cabinet for the Prime Minister but itsjust wonderful nikki is in cabinet for the Prime Minister but its just wonderful nikki is in the cabinet. There may be a reshuffle. Whatjob do you want . I will do whatever i am told. 0k, michael gove, thank you very much indeed for joining us. Carl is out and about in Covent Garden. A magnificent christmas t. Its amazing, very beautiful. We will be with carol very shortly. Sally said talking about some possible movement in the biggest teams in the country. So it could be a big week for arsenal and everton, lets start in north london because its looking more and more likely that mikel arteta will be the new arsenal manager. Hes currently pep guardiolas assistant at Manchester City, and finished his playing career at arsenal where he was captain. Club bosses were spotted outside artetas house on monday morning, and they are now in talks with city. Everton are also after a new manager and theyve made Carlo Ancelotti their first choice. He was sacked by napoli last week, but had Great Success at chelsea where he won the premier league and fa cup in 2010. Everton have yet to make an offer to the italian, but they will step up their efforts to bring him to merseyside this week. To italy next, where the top league serie a has been heavily criticised for a new anti Racism Campaign. This is it. It uses images of monkeys with painted faces. The artist who designed them says they are the metaphor for human beings. There have been big problems with racism in italian football recently, and just three weeks ago clubs in serie a said they would do more to tackle the problem. 0ne game in the premier league last night, and it was wilfied zana, who stole the show with a lovely solo goal to save a point for Crystal Palace against brighton. A nice way for roy hodgson to celebrate his 100th game in charge of palace, who are now up to 9th in the table. Itll be a strange night for liverpool, as they play aston villa in the quarterfinals of the league cup because their entire First Team Squad they play the mexican side monterray tomorrow live on bbc two. Its the start of a really busy period of fixtures for the european champions and it means that the team to play villa tonight will be made up almost exclusively of youth players and withjurgen klopp also in qatar, the man in charge tonight is liverpools under 23 coach. The group of players that will take the pack is the one that a work with constantly, so its not like we are throwing a Team Together. So, we will be well prepared. We have got enough time, we know how going to approach the game, and its important that we dont play like a liverpool team. Englands women have won the first of three t20 matches against pakistan in kuala lumpur. 0pener amyjones top scored with 53 as england reached 154 for four from their 20 overs. In reply pakistan were dismissed for 125. World chess champion Magnus Carlsen is top of the premier leagues fantasy football rankings. Heres the norwegian grand master in the dayjob. He is famous for his focus. But he says his Fantasy Football Team selections are based partly on stats and partly on gut feeling. Yesterday morning i told you that our very luxurious cushions from spoty were very much in demand the other night. Lots of you got in touch to say we should auction them. So thats what we are going to do. Weve given them to doddie weir an hes going to auction them in aid of his charity raising money for research into treatements for mnd. The more i think about it the more, he was the absolute standard style. That was the moment. He was hit and he was great fun as well. That whole experience i imagine was exhausting. But afterwards, he spoke to everybody, the next morning he spoke to everybody and was in a brilliant, positive mood. Great to see. Very funny on stage as well. He meant so much to 70 people. On the night in the auditorium, it was proper goosebumps. Carol is in Covent Garden where unfortunately you change the lovely makes no for real rain. That is very true. Good morning. You can see the fabulous Christmas Tree behind me, standing 55 feet tall. As londons largest hand picked Christmas Tree, from a Christmas Tree farm in the west midlands. Its taken 35 years to grow that particular tree and privilege to be that you see here in Covent Garden thats been cut, another ten will be planted. Another thing you cant help but notice all the twinkling light twinkling lights. There are 30,000 those and if you lay them on a scale, they would weigh three tons and it would have to be a pretty big brain scale. As Louise Minchin, its been raining in london. Forecast for today is a chilly one. The risk of ice, particularly to the far north of scotland, with some fog, most of that will lift but it will hang around, around the vale of york but when it does lift, for many it will be dry and some of us will see some sunny spells. You can see the pressure chart, low pressure to the north west and a weather front to the south east and its that weather front producing the rain that will have ripples on it through the day so although it might like the rain is stopping, we will see some more of it later on. The first thing this morning we do have the rain, its already produced 15 millimetres of rainfall across parts of kent and sussex overnight. That will be on and off. Some of the pod will lift, we will see it brightening up, a few showers in the west, the showers in the hills in scotland pulling up to the hills in scotland pulling up to the far north and temperature wise, what were looking at between five and seven generally, locally in the south between seven and nine. A transient ridge of High Pressure building, allowing fog to form. Some of this will be dense and some could be freezing. Around about freezing temperatures. Some frost around. Tomorrow we start with the fog. Some will be slow to clear, some will drift north. In the west, rain and strong winds, 45 55 miles an hour and with exposure it could be 75 Miles Per Hour. By the time we get to thursday, were looking at rain and showers. Later on the day, it will start to dry up. It will turn milder. Temperatures into double figures for many of us during the course of thursday but it does not last. By the weekend, we start to see them sleep once again. It is lovely here this morning. If it does not make you feel christmassy, nothing will. Thank you very much. 55 feet high, the Christmas Tree. A ruling at the high court yesterday could have big implications for the people who run our post offices. Bens here. This is one of the most incredible stories i have covered. It all centres on new Accounting Software introduced by the post office in 2000. It was supposed to streamline post office accounts. But bugs in the system made it look like money was missing. Sub postmasters and mistresses, the people that run post office branches, were blamed. Many lost their livelihoods and some were sent to prison for theft and fraud. Theyve always maintained their innocence, and more than 500 of them brought this case to court to do that. Last week, the post office agreed to pay £58m in compensation over the way it treated them and yesterdays ruling that the Computer System was faulty could be crucial in clearing the names of 34 people convicted over this. Seema misra is one of those 34 fighting to clear her name. She was convicted of theft, sent to prison while pregnant. She joins us now from her home in woking. Good morning to you. Good morning. I cannot imagine what you have been through. How harrowing it was. Give usa through. How harrowing it was. Give us a sense of how it all came about. It all started when i took over the post office and they denied from day one there was anything wrong. The way i was treated, you are the only one this is happening to so how come youre post office is having an issue. They were acting like a mafia, if anything happened they would take everything away. Everything would be lost, the name, the family. You were running a shop alongside the post office and at the end of the day, there was a big gap between what was in the teal and what was supposed to be there. between what was in the teal and what was supposed to be there. I had to physically go to the shop and put it into the post office and they said that you can get a credit note and get the money back that never happened. Within a month, isaid and get the money back that never happened. Within a month, i said to my area manager, something is wrong. Iam my area manager, something is wrong. I am putting money from the shop floor to make it balance and were not anything incorrectly. They said they would get an audit done. Within three months of mejoining, the auditor came up and despite me putting money in every day, they made another loss of £3600. Instead of helping me, they gave me warnings. That was like a big, big set back. They threatened to take the post office away. We all do that if the post office is gone, that is it, end of story. I was into the post office until two in the morning going through each transaction. How could we not see anything. We could not find anything. No help at all from the post office stop they basically accused us of doing something wrong. Because other post offices that were doing fine and in 2008. Offices that were doing fine and in 2008. Sorry to interrupt. Were not talking just a few pounds here and there. Some were big values. What impacted it have on you personally. You were pregnant and already had a son at the time . M was the worst experience. Could not believe it was happening to me. I pleaded not guilty because even my previous solicitor said to me plead guilty and you get a lesser sentence but why should i plead guilty for a crime i have not committed. We were hoping to getjustice so when the jury hoping to getjustice so when the jury came back with a guilty verdict, it was life shattering. I could not imagine Something Like that could happen. Luckily i was pregnant because otherwise i would definitely have killed myself. My older son, everybody suffered, the whole family. This is absolutely incredible. You are then sent to prison for 15 months. You are pregnant with her second child. You went to prison for something that was not your fault, went to prison for something that was not yourfault, you had little support and nowhere to turn to . Nowhere and i was so scared for my childs safety in there, it was the worst, worst experience. I did not know how i could get out alive of here. The post office offered compensation, £53 million on the table now. I cannot imagine that would make any difference to what you have been through. Your real challenge is to clear your name properly. Where are you up to in that . The fight is still on. I want to get my name cleared. After the judgement, we are a step closer but we are still fighting. This is the important thing yesterday that they acknowledge that the Computer System was at fault. That could pave the way to clearing your name because for the first time it establishes that the system was at fault . Definitely because there is a hope and we knew we had been fighting with the truth for the last 14 yea rs. With the truth for the last 14 years. The truth always went so it definitely will be done. How are you now . I am ok. Before, people were asking me and i can say, i am the former post mistress. You are somewhere through trying to clear all of this but you loss the business and the post office. What does life look like for you now . For the last ten years, i have been unable to work because of the conviction i had. Nothing i could do what i could work. I applied to be an urban driver but even that was refused. Uber. I could not even get insurance. When i was coming back from india it was terrible because immigration had to pull me aside because of the conviction on my passport. I am glad you are able to see some of the light in this. What would you say to the post office this morning . They cannot even imagine what they put us through. They cannot imagine. They have to go to jail to see how it feels. Seema misra i am glad you can see the light at the end of the tunnel because you have been through some awful times as a result of this andi some awful times as a result of this and i am grateful that you came and spoke to us. Best of luck in trying to clear your name properly and draw a line under all this. Thank you. Thank you. In a statement, post office chairman, tim parker told us the firm accepted its past shortcomings and sincerely apologises to those affected when it got things wrong. He says the judgment does recognise improvements we have made and our Current System is robust. As we heard from seema misra, some huge implications for people involved. Really, watching that interview, the devastating impact not just interview, the devastating impact notjust on her but other people as well over many years. And being able to smile about it, hopefully knowing the end is inside but she thought of trust over but without her children she was in a desperate situation. Thank you very much. If you have been a big fan of strictly come dancing, obviously it finished over the weekend and the two people who produced this on saturday night. They will be with us in about 20 minutes time, Calvin Fletcher and 0ti mabuse, the champions for 2019. We missed the plank. The press up job thing. Maybe he could do one life. There we go. That is incredible. I am sure i can do that. That was the most disparaging laugh surely, that was really showing my true feelings about that. I have a bit of a sore shoulder at the moment. Time now to get the news, travel and weather where you are. Good morning from bbc london. Im asad ahmad. The watchdog which overseas the london fire brigade says the lfb has been wasteful and slow to implement changes needed after the Grenfell Tower fire. A report found it was inadequate at getting the right people with the right skills. Andy roe, whos due to take over as londons fire commissioner injanuary, said he was committed to making improvements. The mayor of london, sadiq khan, has ruled himself out as a potential successor to the labour leaderjeremy corbyn. Mr khan said his focus is on delivering for londoners but he suggested mr corbyn should step away from the leadership role, sooner rather than later. Party officials have suggested mr corbyns replacement could be in office by march. Police commissioner, Dame Cressida dick, has told bbc london she would encourage the kind of acts of heroism that helped stop the London Bridge attacker usman khan. The attacker murdered 25 year old jack merrit, and 23 year old saskia jones last month. He was eventually tackled to the ground by members of the public. The commissioner supported what she called active citizenship. The singer, ellie goulding, was one of several people who came to the rescue of a motorist on the a40 in west london yesterday. She saw this happening, a car being shunted down the road by a royal mail lorry. Ellie was among several people who managed to attract the lorry drivers attention and get him to stop. Police are investigating. Transport london have sorted out their problems on the website. Central, circle and dlr are all part suspended. Minor delays on the hammersmith and city line. Circle and hammersmith city line have minor delays. Also delays because of a signal failure on the city line. 0n the trams, theres no service between east croydon and sandilands because of power problems. 0n the roads, ususal delays at blackwall tunnel. Now the weather with kate. Good morning. Yes, its a mild start this morning but its also a rather wet one. Weve had some heavy rain overnight and i am afraid there is more to come, really, through much of the day, it going to stay largely wet and largely cloudy. The rain perhaps becoming patchier. There are some heavier bursts but then it returns as we head towards the end of the afternoon and into the evening. The temperature today, again is not especially cold, seven, eight celsius as a maximum. That rain will gradually creep away eastwards overnight tonight and were left with the cloud breaking and therefore clear skies. So we may get a little bit of mist and fog first thing tomorrow morning. The minimum temperature down to one celsius out in the suburbs so a much chillier night than last night. A bright start tomorrow. Some sunny spells around. Temperatures back up in double figures but it is a rather unsettled week. Really, throughout and into the weekend. Never very far away from any rain and the temperature remains reasonably mild as we head through to the weekend. Va nessa Vanessa Phelps on bbc radio london is on until ten a. M. Good morning, welcome to breakfast with Louise Minchin and dan walker. 0ur headlines today borisjohnson promises a new law to block any brexit delay beyond the end of next year. Planemaker boeing suspends production of its troubled 737 max airliner its been grounded for nine months after two deadly crashes. London fire brigade is criticised for poor management and training just months after similar concerns were raised at the Grenfell Tower inquiry. Arsenal and everton edge towards new managers. Arsenal are in talks with their former captain mikel arteta, whilst evertons first choice is carlo ancellotti. From last minute stand in to strictly winner Kelvin Fletcher will be here with dance partner 0ti mabuse to talk about their amazing journey. Good morning from Covent Garden in london. We are surrounded by Christmas Trees, beautiful perfume coming from them, but there is rain in london. In the south east, that is the forecast, rain on and off. When we lose the fog elsewhere we will see brighter skies, but still some showers in the north west. Its tuesday the 17th of december. Our top story the Prime Minister borisjohnson is planning to make it illegal for parliament to extend the Brexit Process beyond the end of next year. Hell add a clause to his Withdrawal Agreement bill, which will go before mps on friday. Earlier the cabinet minister michael gove insisted that a trade deal can be struck in the available time. We will get a deal. The political declaration commits both sides to that. So, Michel Barnier and the European Union had put in black and white and have committed themselves to making sure that we get a deal by that time. 0ur Political Correspondent helen catt is in westminster. It is very interesting hearing what they are planning to do, it was not mentioned before . This seems to be a real statement of intent on behalf of the government and borisjohnson. Last night he met his new mps in parliament, he has the majority which will allow him to take brexit in whatever direction he pleases and get it passed on through parliament. Some speculated that might mean he softens when he was taking brexit, this seems to imply that he is not. Softens where he was taking brexit. So the oven ready brexit dealerjohnson talked about during the campaign is the Withdrawal Agreement mps will look at on friday and that us out of the eu formally at the end of january. As and that us out of the eu formally at the end ofjanuary. As part and that us out of the eu formally at the end of january. As part of that it provides a transition period where they will stay the same and you wont really notice any difference, because we will not have an immediately new trading agreement to go to with the new so it needs to be negotiated. To go to with the eu. There is a clause which says it could be extended by an extra two yea rs if could be extended by an extra two years if both sides agree. Boris johnson is ruining that out. He did not explicitly say that in the Election Campaign, he promised he would not extend the transition periods but this seems to be going a step further perhaps by removing the optional together. You heard michael gove talk about the political declaration, that is another part of the oven ready brexit, an agreement between the eu and uk to say they will try to conclude the new trade deal by the end of december, so the question critics are asking is what happens if you dont . Michael gove did not quite address that, he just said we will get a deal. If you dont, critics say are we just looking at another no deal this Time Next Year . Thank you, helen. Ben has had a busy morning. The aircraft manufacturer boeing says it will be suspending production of 737 max jets next month. He has been here to talk about this. It was the big new boeing project which is meant to revolutionise air travel by making it cheaper and more efficient but it was at the centre of two deadly crashes last year, one in indonesia, one in ethiopia, more than 300 people were killed in those two crashes so regulators took it out of service and said boeing needed to make significant changes to how the aeroplane flew to make it airworthy again. That has taken much longer than buy anticipated. It wa nted longer than buy anticipated. It wanted the plane to be in the air again by the end of this year but regulators are still not happy. Boeing now has 400 of these sat in storage, waiting to go, what it has done today is an unsuitable no longer build new ones until it can deliver these, which has huge implications not only for boeing, it has cost around 9 billion already, but also for the airlines which would like to fly these planes, ryanair in the uk is one of its biggest customers and they say it is costing them about £84 million a year because these planes were designed to be brought into cut fuel costs a nd designed to be brought into cut fuel costs and make flights more efficient, so big problems for boeing and the airlines themselves, as we said, they wanted it in the air by the end of this year, that will not happen, they are pushing these new safety features they have installed on the plains to try to get the approval of regulators, so far that has not been forthcoming, so big problems for this plane. New Zealand Police say they have identified all 18 victims of the white island volcano disaster. The eruption happened more than a week ago. The names and nationalities of 17 people have been released, but one person who died in an australian hospital was not publicly named. Two people are still missing and presumed to be dead. Inspectors have criticised the london fire brigade, saying it is not well run, and needs to improve. Her majesty s inspectorate of fire and rescue services said the brigade had been slow to implement the changes which were needed after the Grenfell Tower fire, our Home Affairs Correspondent, tom symonds reports. Its a tough, physicaljob, even when there are no flames and Fire Fighters are just demonstrating typical procedures. Todays report makes no criticism of those on the front line but it says the london fire brigade is not well run. Its slow to learn lessons and has a long way to go in improving its efficiency. There is one particular concern, not enough training, especially for incident commanders and training which is not pass orfail. So what happens if officers dont perform well . Nothing. Nothing . No, they arejust back on the system. What do you think of that . We said it is one of the most worrying causes of concern. Thats why we said we graded the training that london fire does as inadequate, its got to be sorted out. Which is significant because it is now more than a year than the then london fire commissioner dany cotton told the Grenfell Tower public inquiry. I wouldnt expect us to be developing training or response to something that simply shouldnt happen. Meaning a fire on the scale of grenfell. She has now resigned, partly because of todays report. The new commissioner says hes committed to making improvements. Tom symonds, bbc news. The Singer Ellie Goulding has a lovely voice, but it turns out she also has a cool head in a crisis. She was on the busy a40 in london yesterday when she saw a car being shunted down the road by a lorry. Ellie was among several people who managed to attract the lorry drivers attention and get him to stop. She then went to check on the driver of the car, who was uninjured. The met police says no arrests were made. You said you have a friend this has happened to . It looks utterly terrifying . It happened to hand the m62, thankfully like the people in the car she was safe, but it is the sort of thing you would have nightmares about for years to come, being in that situation, thinking what could go wrong. Everyone is ok but probably a little shaken. A five year old boy has been given a rather special early Christmas Present a Ground Breaking prosthetic arm which has let him hug his family properly for the first time. His mum and dad crowdfunded £16,000 for the arm, which comes with its very own special design. Jacobjoins us now, along with his mum gemma and dad chris, from their home in west yorkshire. Frankie is so much for coming on bbc brea kfast frankie is so much for coming on bbc breakfast and talking to us, good morning, jacob, can you show us what your arm does . Can you show him . If your arm does . Can you show him . If you squeeze that tablet you can make the. Thats what ive heard you can. Yes, as he squeezes this padding, it closes the thumb. Can. Yes, as he squeezes this padding, it closes the thumbm can. Yes, as he squeezes this padding, it closes the thumb. It is so impressive. He is just padding, it closes the thumb. It is so impressive. He isjust getting to grips with it. We will speak to jacob this morning but, chris, tell us what situation jacob wasnt beforehand and what made you think you would try to crowdfunding to help jacob and get the prosthetic for him . It is everything we all ta ke for him . It is everything we all take for granted. Even at school at the moment, just tracing the paper around as he is writing, having something to hold it just helps. He just got a little bit upset and frustrated. So me and you, didnt we, gemma, we had a chat and decided we needed to do something, there is very little help for us. imagine you are told no quite a bit and you have to be determined and fight for your son . How did you go about that . We knew the nhs were not going to supply the arm, so we literally went through instagram and everything on the internetjust to find somebody who could help, originally we thought we would have to go to america but then i contacted ben from one company who contacted ben from one company who contacted us and said they could help. It isjust the expense that michael gove eyes it has made a big difference . It isjust the expense. Difference . It isjust the expense. It has made a big difference . Yes, we will reassess it and see what could be gentoo make it better, it is a work in progress, we are learning but also the three companies that have come together, it isa companies that have come together, it is a learning process together. Jacob, my name is dan, i am in the studio not far away from you, we are in salford, can you tell the what your friends at school have thought about it . Look up what your friends then . Good. They all want one . They all want to focus. I think everybody would like an Incredible Health arm for christmas. We have seen some lovely pictures in the paper of jacob being able to hug his brother Sebastien Faure the first time, you are both smiling, moments like that must put a lovely smile on your face. Even though jacob must put a lovely smile on your face. Even thouthacob has had a difficult life with one arm, it is beautiful to see the moments of normality . Things like that, holding two hands, he was holding sebastiens hand and his dads hand at the same time. We were just walking in a line, and sebastien just once, this is amazing, dad. It is the little things. And he pushed the pram for the first time without steering it into the wall. As he grows up, just the arm change, just the Design Change . It will consta ntly the Design Change . It will constantly need to adapting. I think the main purpose of this version is to build his muscles up around his shoulder, his arm, straighten his posture and then hopefully the teams we have been working with, they are all really excited for what the future will bring with the motors and sensors and things. It is looking exciting for the future. Also they are looking at cheaper options, at the moment to get a fully functioning motorised amateurs over £100,000, for the average family it is extortionate and ridiculous and she will not be able to afford it. It is looking promising for the future. to afford it. It is looking promising for the future. I and glad you have made a difference to not only your son but your family. Jacob, is it right you are playing a very special part in the nativity today . Who are you being in the nativity . A king. A king i hope you have a lovely day, thank you for speaking to us and bbc breakfast. What a lovely story, helped by crowdfunding, which is fantastic. £16,000, it has made a huge difference. I think he will be the only king in a nativity play with an incredible hulk arm. Carol is in Covent Garden, it looks stunning . Yes, very festive. We are in the apple market, it is to be the fruit and veg market until the 70s but thenit and veg market until the 70s but then it became what it is now, lots of stalls with antiques, collecta bles. Of stalls with antiques, collectables. Look at the size of this mistletoe, it is huge. I am surrounded by glitterballs and enormous baubles. It is nice and dry here, it is raining outside, the forecast for today is chilly for many parts of the country, there is some risk of nice around there is some risk of nice around there is some risk of ice around and we have rain in the forecast but some sunny spells aside from that. On the pressure charge, low pressure to the north west and a weather front in the south east. That weather front will have a ripple on it to the course of today, the rain might look like it has stopped but it is likely to be enhanced and it could be heavier later. A chilly start, some fog patches, most of those will left, some into low cloud, possibly sticking around the vale of york, we have showers on and off for Northern Ireland and scotland but they will push to the north and scotland. Lots of bright weather through wales into the south west, temperatures generally five to seven, locally a bit higher in the south. The rain in the south is clear evening and overnight, a transient ridge of High Pressure builds in and we are looking at a quiet night which will allow fog to form anywhere from east wales to the midlands, lincolnshire and east anglia, some of it could be dense. Temperatures around freezing, orjust above dense. Temperatures around freezing, or just above or just dense. Temperatures around freezing, orjust above orjust below, so some frost around and potentially freezing fog. Tomorrow, the focal slowly left, some of it into low cloud moving northwards, some sticking for much of the day. The east will generally be dry and brighter but cooler, the west will have wet windy weather, gusts of wind 45 to 65 mph. Rain or showers moving across us on thursday, later on we are looking at something drier, brighter and milder on we are looking at something drier, brighterand milder is on we are looking at something drier, brighter and milder is as we see the return to temperatures getting into milder conditions and double figures. I pointed out the glitterball, let me show you it again. It is huge. Kelvin and 0ti who are sitting in the studio would have picked up Something Like this on saturday, not quite as big, and i bet you are glad because this way is 65 kilos. Wow, carol that is an incredible glitterball. Calvin could probably do that with one arm. Kelvin probably could. We have the strictly winners, Kelvin Fletcher, who came on as a last minute substitute, with 0ti mabuse, who lifted the glitterball on saturday night. I am sure a lot of you watched it, but lets remind ourselves of that glorious evening. Aint no sunshine when shes gone. Its not warm when shes away. Aint no sunshine when shes gone, and shes always gone too long. Any time she goes away. I want you to know. I said i want you to know right now. Youve been good to me, baby. Better than i been to myself. The strictly come dancing champions are. Kelvin and 0ti cheering and applause. Kelvin and 0ti join us now. Huge congratulations. Sitting at home, idid huge congratulations. Sitting at home, i did predict this, like i suspect many millions of others, you seemed so surprised. It was a shock. Absolutely, you dont really expect that. It isjust a complete unknown. When your name is read out, it is absolute disbelief, complete disbelief, and i think i looked to 0ti and went off her reaction, i dont think i heard our names being read out and i saw 0ti almost collapsed and that was when. , we must have won did you expect karim to win . Karim or mr. Karim, technically, has been one of the best male dancers, he is a joy to watch. And emma is so likeable, she has come so far from week one. I thought it was anybodys. We were delighted to share the stage with anton and emma and amy and corinne. You two were not originally partnered, what happened to jamie . think it was a tear in his foot, something happened when he was sliding towards me in the launch show and he said, i cant walk. We went to the doctor, a specialist, they said he had to be out for about six to eight weeks just to rest and get better, and in that time no one knew whether i would have a partner or not, it was just a waiting game. How close to that First Programme where you like, kelvin, we need you . I basically had about and our to make a decision. They couldnt tell me too much, they did not tell me it wasjamie, me too much, they did not tell me it was jamie, unfortunately, who me too much, they did not tell me it wasjamie, unfortunately, who had the unfortunate incident. And then i was asked if i wanted to be a part of the show, and naturally one would say absolutely. Where do i need to go . maybe i am completely wrong but i would imagine that most of the celebrities had some practice beforehand, so you went in cold . Usually the celebrities have about a week of prep when they go to our creative directorjason who gives us an introduction to all the dancers so that they are not shocked. He was told on tuesday, we met on thursday, on monday we started doing the samba. So i got no foundation course, ijust samba. So i got no foundation course, i just went samba. So i got no foundation course, ijust went straight in with the samba. And from their on in, all dancers are difficult, dancers are just extremely difficult to learn. loved watching you a couple of minutes ago, you said you had never clapped in this bet before . minutes ago, you said you had never clapped in this bet before . I am cringing a little bit because i suspect i will get messages from 0ti with screenshots saying why were you clapping . for 13 weeks i have had consta nt clapping . for 13 weeks i have had constant screenshots, she has highlighted and drawn on where my church to place, that is how particular djokovic she is very demanding, i expect something this afternoon. Have you watched it back . Yes, when it happened it was so surreal and i wanted to go back and understand what had happened and relive the moment. I watched it back andi relive the moment. I watched it back and i was so proud of him, you compare week one, week four to the final, how much she had improved, his confidence and technique was better, i was so filled with pride. Is this year fight for you in the competition . He is the first one to get you to the winners podium, what is it about kelvin in comparison with some of the other male celebrities, what makes it so easy for you to dance with him and for him to produce that quality . honestly think the way he came into the competition was really special, and the beginning of thisjust kelvin and i kelvin and i, he had not been introduced to everybody and we we re not been introduced to everybody and we were really leaning on each other, but he works so hard. We only started with eight hours, then became ten, then it became 13, really pushing. He is very technical and wants to get every bit right, but besides that i think it was just the love for dancing that he had, it was very the love for dancing that he had, it was very special. You are not alone in your love for dancing and your family . Lets talk about your dad. He has had enough airtime, that lad we will give him some more, we love your dad. Ijono kitto have my reaction but i could not believe that. It is like he should be doing a pantomime i was completely shocked. My dad is a really normal, working class, very unassuming jeff but he has moves side he is prone to the old boogie. He will be so chuffed. Lets get himself an agent. Right up until before strictly, you had just won the british gt championships . I signed up for strictly and then it was a case, sorry, guys, one thing i didnt say, i have one race to do. We almost won the championship, i just i have one race to do. We almost won the championship, ijust had to finish, it did not matter where i finished, we just had to finish the race. But that can weirdly bring somatic pressure. I did a week of rehearsals and then went to donington park in the midlands and competed in the last race, we won the race, won the championship, the team put twinkle toes on the side of my carand team put twinkle toes on the side of my car and equitable in the garage, it was a perfect end to a great season with the team, then straight back into rehearsals. So next year are you just going to conquer the world . it was one of those flicks where thingsjust world . it was one of those flicks where things just line up. World . it was one of those flicks where thingsjust lineup. You are going on the strictly tour . Yes, with mike. Unfortunately 0ti will not be there, but i had janette as my partner, hopefully a good chance for everybody to watch us in different cities. As you well know, make its lovely about everybody, that watching him, the few times i came to it takes two, he has been so friendly and brilliant with so many people and just brings an infectious enthusiasm to everything . Look at him. He was on a show dance and he knocked somebody out, but he did not put a foot wrong. He danced so well, i cant put a foot wrong. He danced so well, icant remember put a foot wrong. He danced so well, i cant remember which dance it was, his tango, he didnt put a foot wrong and i think he represents everything the show is. Just look at him, he is so lovely, full of enthusiasm and amazing, i love him to bits. Have a great time on the tour. You are doing the greatest dancer . Yes, i think that starts in january. The facey were deserved winners, well done. I enjoyed the tour with the glitterball. Time now to get the news, travel and weather where you are.
