I wa nt to i want to transform our economy. I want to make sure our economy works for everybody. Does that mean overthrowing capitalism . No, it means transforming capitalism into a new form and i think there is a whole debate going on, notjust here but in america and elsewhere, about how our economy is failing the vast majority of people. Could this be the kingmaker . The leader of the Scottish National party has made it clear she would only offer her backing to one side. Clear she would only offer her backing to one sidelj clear she would only offer her backing to one side. I would never put borisjohnson into downing street. To get a budget through and a queens speech, labour in a minority position, and scotland would have enormous leverage then andl would have enormous leverage then and i would exercise that firstly in line with scotland because my interests. Also hoping to pull in the voters in this stretch, the lib dem leader, who says neither Boris Johnson orJeremy Corbyn are fit to be pm, but could she work with someone else . There are clearly lots of people in the labour party who i do work well with and have worked well within the last two and a half, three and a half years, we have been working on a cross party basis to try to secure a peoples about, and that kind of cooperation will absolutely continue. With the big day fast approaching, the stage is being set. All the players can do now is keep drilling down on their core messages. Susana is here now. Susana, we have seen this morning a suggestion in the polls there is a tightening apparently of the conservative support. Is that for all the parties . I think all the parties know they need at this moment to get people on side and therefore we can see them out in what we call those key marginal seats where things can change with literally a few hundred or thousand votes, sometimes less, can swing it one way or the other. We will see them out campaigning in these last days, and i think the key thing will be undecided voters, will the parties have time to turn them around to their way of thinking . Also tactical voting. We have heard so much more about it in this election than i think any other and we have websites telling people how to tactically vote depending on what way they want to go, but will that be enough . It seems quite organised this time, but tactical voting is a difficult thing to achieve in order to get people to bow to a certain way. Certainly when i have been out and about people are talking about it more so than i have seen before. The weather, another factor. It more so than i have seen before. The weather, anotherfactor. We have been hearing there will be bad weather later on this week, of course one of the pitfalls of having a general election in december, and we have all been out there in the rain following the candidates around. Ive certainly been doing that and im sure others have. At the moment for the parties i think the moment for the parties i think the focus has to be on their key messages, whether it be brexit or Public Services, focusing on those key areas and trying to bring that support to their cases in these last few days before we get to that general election on thursday. Susana mendonca, thank you very much. In india, at least a0 peple have died in a fire at a factory which makes school bags in a commercial district of the capital, delhi. Emergency services said their work had been hampered by the narrow streets but they had been able to rescue more than 50 people. From delhi, Pratiksha Ghildial reports. The fire broke out on the ground floor of this multistorey factory, in the early hours of the morning, and then quickly spread to other levels. Rescue services say dozens of workers were sleeping inside the building at the time. Translation there were about 30 people from my village at the site. I have been able to see some of them but i havent been able to spot them all. This is a really congested and densely populated area of delhi. The alleyways behind me are too narrow to be accessed by fire engines. As a result, firefighters had to fight the blaze from a distance of about 100 metres. The countrys Prime Minister Narendra Modi described the fire as extremely horrific, and expressed his condolences to the families of the victims. Those who survived the blaze are now being treated in the citys hospitals. The rescue operation was a challenge because it was congested and secondly because there was lots of smoke and lots of plastic burnt inside. It was difficult to carry out the rescue. Fire accidents are common in india. Many buildings here lack properfire exits common in india. Many buildings here lack proper fire exits and illegal construction is rampant. The cause of the fire is uncertain and an inquiry has now been launched into the incident. Pratiksha ghildial, bbc news, delhi. Lets take a look at some of todays other news. Hes only the fourth heavyweight in the sports history to win a direct rematch. Our Sports Editor dan roan watched from saudi arabia. It was a fight he simply dare not lose. As he strode to the ring here at the edge of the desert, anthonyjoshua knew his career and credibility were on the line. Opponent andy ruinunior, intent on proving his shock victory in their first meeting earlier this year, was no fluke. In theirfirst meeting earlier this year was no fluke. But after cutting the mexican inside the first round, a slimmed down joshua never looked back. Using his jab to expertly control the rounds and Constant Movement to keep his distance from his much heavier rival. It wasnt a classic. The fight never turning into the explosive slugfest that saw ruiz stun the boxing world back in june. Instead, a far more composed joshua kept to his plan, racking up the points and gaining revenge with a unanimous victory. The british fighter able to celebrate becoming just the fourth heavyweight in history to regain his world title at the first attempt. Tonight was just about winning, and trusting my process. I know maybe i couldve done more at times, but sometimes simplicity is genius. And that was the motto keep it simple cos its going to lead to a genius performance. I dont want to say that the three months of partying, or that i had celebrating and whatnot, cant affect me, because to tell the truth it kind of did. But what can i say . The next news on bbc one is at the earlier than sual is at the earlier than usual time of five to five goodbye from all of us, have a good afternoon. Hello. We have some very strong winds on the way over the next 2a hours. Thanks to the first named storm of the season to affect the british isles, and it is this area of cloud you can see racing towards ireland. It is the Pressure Gradient that makes the wind blow and look how tightly packed the isobars are. Ferocious winds brought in to the south west of ireland, but you notice this opening up and they are notice this opening up and they are not so windy. In other words, the ferocious winds will not last so long but the potential is there for them to be very damaging. For the United Kingdom through the rest of todayit United Kingdom through the rest of today it is blustery, with gails farming quite widely, windy conditions and that they of sunshine and showers with gales forming. Colder than yesterday. We spoke about the ferocious winds in ireland and the gusts could reach 80 miles and the gusts could reach 80 miles an hour. There is a red weather warning from irish forecasters in this part of ireland. Our strongest winds in the uk are from overnight across wales, South West England and may be the south West Midlands with gusts reaching potentially 65 75 mph. When is this strong are perfectly capable of bringing down trees so there is the might like he was speaking at a frantic pace. As you are saying, he spent some time making calls to voters at this call centre. Obviously, trying to persuade them to try to vote for the conservative party. Also, there were a lot of senior ministers there who we re a lot of senior ministers there who were doing the same thing, and spent quite a long time doing it. In his speech, though, there was a measure of caution. He was saying that we are in the final furlong, but we are not quite there yet. We need, as he put it, to keep working hard. I think there is some concern. They obviously want to keep going. You know, really pushing the campaign as ha rd know, really pushing the campaign as hard as possible right the way through till the last minute. They are not taking anything for granted. He was using a lot of sporting metaphors. Notjust he was using a lot of sporting metaphors. Not just the final furlong but also rugby metaphors, in which he said keep the ball firmly at the back of the scrum and drive for the line. So, at the back of the scrum and drive forthe line. So, obviously, he is wanting people to keep pushing, and not to go slow and this at all. I suppose one of the things that if he we re suppose one of the things that if he were to engage with some of the arguments of his opponents and concede territory. His approach seems to be to relentlessly say the message time and time again. And hope that that will be sufficient for the voters to put their message across. The memory, all too recent, of the last general election 2017 when theresa may went into the election with an big lead and look how it turned out. I suppose things can change quite quickly, and not even get picked up in the polls if we are not careful. I think absolutely that. We had a brief chat with one of the ministers, and he was saying exactly that, that they really are haunted by what happened backin really are haunted by what happened back in 2017, and it really hovers over them, and of course they are hoping that that is not going to happen again. As you are saying, some of the opinion polls are showing that the gap is narrowing to a certain extent. That is definitely a certain extent. That is definitely a concern. Thank you very much. We expect to hear from the labour leader in panga south wales. He is, right on cue, making the whole thing look bland. He is with the welsh labour party. In north wales, lets see what happens. Lets get the sound up so you can hear it. Obviously, he is posing for photos. Wales is not going to be easy for labour this time, as the party has acknowledged. They have a tough fight ina acknowledged. They have a tough fight in a part of the country which, after all, has really been labour to its bootstra ps which, after all, has really been labour to its bootstraps for the best pa rt labour to its bootstraps for the best part of 100 years now, and emerging as the Biggest Party in wales. We think hes going to be introduced, shall we come back to this. We are listening. Thank you very much for having me here today, in bangla, across the bridge from anglesey. Cheering really fantastic to be here and it is brilliant that jeremy really fantastic to be here and it is brilliant thatjeremy is here today as well. It is great to see so many of you here as well. We will come back to that whenjeremy many of you here as well. We will come back to that when Jeremy Corbyn himself is speaking. It is just approaching 16 minutes past one. As the final few days of campaigning get under way, the conservatives promise to introduce an australian style points based immigration system to control unskilled migration. Meanwhile, labour sets out its plans for social care if it wins the election, by offering more funding and free personal care for older people in england. A man has been arrested in connection with allegations of racist abuse directed at players during the man city, man united game yesterday. The environment has been a key issue for the Political Parties throughout their election campaigns, but have their claims stacked up . Roger harrabin has been examining the main parties biggest promises. Ill tx 00v and you can find out more on what all the parties are pledging on this issue and other policy areas by going to our online guide at bbc. Co. Uk news it has been by far the greenest election so far in britains political history, with most of the major parties committing to cut heavily the gases that are overheating the climate. Weve had the wildfires in australia that have caused a lot of concern, weve had toxic smoke in delhi and, here in the uk, weve had our own heatwave with record temperatures. So what are the parties promising . Well, the green party and plaid cymru both say that by 2030 we should have stopped all the omissions that are heating the climate. That is extremely ambitious. It would mean all petrol and diesel cars off the road, for instance. Labour, their target is a little bit vague, but perhaps somewhere in the 2030s. The liberal democrats and snp both say it should be done by 2045, and the conservatives by 2050. That conservative target may look weak in comparison, but their own independent advisers say that will itself be tough to achieve. So what does friends of the earth think . Weve looked at all the manifestos and all the commitments made by the main parties and i think there is clear blue water now between the conservatives on the one hand, that are offering some good things like the scaling up of offshore wind and various other things, but unfortunately, committing to airport expansion and road building. The other parties, labour, the liberal democrats and greens, are offering much more in terms of tackling Climate Change. And they are not just talking about cutting emissions, theyre talking about policies that will soak up Carbon Dioxide from the atmosphere in the shape of trees. Labours target is really eye watering. They want to plant 100 Million Trees a year. Experts say it can be done, but its a huge stretch. The greens say 70 million, the lib dems 16 million, the snp also 60 million, and the conservatives 30 million theyve been a bit outbid there on the tree front. The other issue is renewables. All the parties are planning very big investment in renewables and also in home insulation. Theres a big difference between them on this, with the greens in particular and labour saying the government should borrow big time to fund major investment, and other parties, the conservatives and the lib dems, being more cautious about that. But here is a warning from the United Nations at the conference this week in madrid. Delegates have been clearly told that the line of omissions of Carbon Dioxide and other Greenhouse Gases is still going up. We have decided, as a world community, that Greenhouse Gases should be going down, but the graph says otherwise. There is a very stark warning from the head of the United Nations. There is no time and no reason to delay. We have the tools, we have the science, we have the resources. Let us also show we have the political will that people demand from us. To do anything less will be a betrayal of our entire human family and all the generations to come. I must say, i have been personally reporting on the subject of Climate Change for 30 years. At last, it seems to me, it is getting the attention it deserves. Whether it gets the policies it needs is a different issue. And you can find out more on what all the parties are pledging on this issue and other policy areas by going to our online guide at bbc. Co. Uk news a man has been arrested after a video posted on social media showed a supporter making racist gestures at the Manchester City v Manchester United match at the Etihad Stadium yesterday. The chairman of the football anti Racism Campaign kick it out, sanjay bhandari, told me that racism is notjust a problem for football. This is a social and societal challenge and football obviously has its part to play. I think, as we have seen last night, Manchester City have acted very swiftly and we applaud that. And actually the supporters acted swiftly. We were inundated with complaints last night, which we passed on. So i think football is taking action. Obviously, it is difficult to say we are really effective as an entire industry because we keep on having incidents but they also reflect the fact that we keep on having discriminatory incidents in society at large and hate crime has been on the rise in the last few years. And of course, it is on the rise in society so it is on the rise in football. And in terms of how it is handled by the clubs, i mean, weve had, as i say, a series of incidents, we had one almost a year ago now, which was a very serious incident. Some are questioning whether the kind of language is enough. You know, condemnations from clubs, threats to actually expel fans for good and yet the incidents keep happening. What is the mismatch between the ambition of the clubs and what is being carried out on the ground . Because, after all, these are very successful clubs in the case of the big clubs. They have a lot of money and resources. They arguably have the capacity to take action and take it very quickly. And obviously what the clubs can do is deal with things that happen inside the ground. Ultimately, when someone buys a ticket that is a contract between you and the club and you agree to abide by the regulations of the club. So if Manchester City for instance want to ban that supporter for life, that is something that they can do. But this is a much broader social challenge, it is notjust a football challenge. And so we have to look at that broader social context and i dont think football on its own can make all of the changes that are necessary and all of the cultural change that is necessary to make society a place where this kind of discriminatory behaviour is unacceptable. What we can try to do is make football a zero tolerance place. But that requires collaboration across the whole of the industry and not just sanctions, it also requires education running throughout the system. Yeah, its interesting you mentioned education because one of the players who was quoted afterwards spoke, pointed out what he called the ignorance of the person who was making, alleged to have made, these noises and all the rest of it to mock the players. In terms of the effect on players themselves, how deep does it go . I suppose you would have to ask the players themselves but i suspect i can tell you anytime i see Something Like that it has an effect on me and it reminds me of every time that i have been abused personally. So of course it has some effect. It must have some effect on the players, as it would anyone who is on the receiving end of discriminatory incidents. And different people are different. Some people might be able to brush that off, some people might take that a bit more to heart. Ava nti west coast has ta ken overfrom Virgin Trains as the operator running the west coast main line. Avantis first train left london euston for manchester piccadilly this morning. Virgin trains was britains longest running rail franchise operating for more than 22 years. Our Business Correspondent Katie Prescott explains what the changes will mean for passengers. Stripped of its colours, one of the last Virgin Trains pulling out of euston station. After a row over pensions liabilities, britains longest running rail franchises being replaced by avanti west coast. Its a joint venture between scotland based firstgroup and the uk arm of italys main train operator. The main change that passengers at euston station will notice will be the change of branding, as virgins red and white livery is stripped away and the staff wear new uniforms. But the people in those uniforms will stay the same, as most of the crew, drivers, and even Senior Management are being kept on. All pre booked tickets will still be valid. Passengers will travel on 20 new british built trains, which willjoin refurbished ones on the avanti service. What were trying to do is we are going to offer greater value for money, were going to increase the number of trains that people are going to see, the number of seats will be far greater in a couple of years. And we want to encourage, its very important, the environmental footprint that we all put on the world, we think rail can make a great impact on that. Avanti is italian for forward. These passengers are hoping that the new franchise lives up to its name as the Christmas Holiday approaches. Katie prescott, bbc news. Let chris back to bangla where Jeremy Corbyn is addressing labour party activists. You will be a great mp and one of a very large number of women mps that will be in the labour party future. Applause for the First Time Ever in british history, our intention is to have at least equal if not a majority number of women mps in the next parliament. That is how flower far our party has come and how far we intend to go. You are going to win. You are going to be the mp here. Applause you are going to gain it because of the determination of all of our campaigners. Yesterday, iwas the determination of all of our campaigners. Yesterday, i was in the vale of glamorgan. A fantastic turnout. Then we went to swansea where we had a huge rally. Then can have it. I have never had a rally in a cattle shed before. It seems fitting, a lowly cattle shed at this time of year. It seems ok. I show ground just outside carmarthen. We had a fantastic rally. It was a bit cold and a lot of people standing around and so on, but there were no cattle there, only people, and it was fantastic. Their campaign is going great. Then we went over and had the biggest rally that has been held in the centre ever a town over the past century. People coming together determined to defeat a stereo to the. This morning, i had the pleasure of meeting our wonderful candidate for a constituency in aberystwyth. Again, fantastic determination. The labour party all across wales is winning this election on the ground, because we have people on the ground talking to people, doorknocking and listening. The beautiful country that wales is, fantastic place, the government of wales are doing its best in very difficult circumstances, but it has lost £1 billion in funding because of the austerity of the tories and liberal democrats in westminster in 2010. When you drive through wales, as i have a number of tail times, ive tried one too many parts of wales and many times in my life. A wonderful diversity of topography and everything else. Behind all that, there are also stunted aspirations and a great deal of poverty. Poverty because of the cruelty in the way in which austerity has worked in this country. To me, this election is about lots of things. Of course, rexs is important part of it. I simply say this, the basic thing is what our future is to me. Simply say this, the basic thing is what ourfuture is to me. In simply say this, the basic thing is what our future is to me. In 2010 a Political Choice was made. They could have invested for the future, instead they decided to plump for the present and damage the life chances fur people all across the uk. That started off with universal credit being rolled out. Universal credit being rolled out. Universal credit is ruling the way cool in the way that it operates. The way in which it does not give support to children in larger families. Which it does not give support to children in largerfamilies. A disgraceful system of interviewing women and asking them to fill in pages of forms because they have given birth to a child as a result of rape. I will tell you what. I was very proud to go to the north east of london, a constituency represented by iain duncan smith, and announced and we do that because of the brutality of what universal credit has done to so many peoples lives. Those who have remained homeless as a result of going into debt. Those who have lost private rented accommodation and those that have gone hungry as a result of it. Im fed up of living in a country where more than1. 5 fed up of living in a country where more than 1. 5 million parcels of food are given out every year in food
