Few months ago, the end of the six possible on october 31 the bbc has learnt that three but he said that unfortunately vietnamese families fear nations, it was the latest example it depended on the eu. That there loved ones were amongst of your site getting a good start the 39 people who died and we talk about a mental block for it puts him at odds in the container on wednesday. One family received a text saying the address that in that short space with the chancellor sajid javid, that their relative was suffocating. Of time . A lot of it is experience. Who said this morning that the uk it has previously been reported that the individuals would not now leave next week. Were chinese nationals. You learn from experience, sport is one of those things value generally, eu ambassadors, meeting i spoke to our home affairs in brussels this morning, correspondent Daniel Sandford some things you cannot teach, earlier about this development. Agreed brexit should be delayed something you have to learn from but any decision on how long that experience. The other thing is the extension should be wont be taken teams work much harder of the field until after the weekend, to bea teams work much harder of the field to be a tidy unit and that helps them get through more difficult amid reports theyre waiting to see essex police said all situations on the field. When you the people who died in that refrigerator 12 are chinese. The outcome of mondays we started being contacted think about the task at hand, it paints a pretty bleak picture. You parliamentary vote on a general by people who were vietnamese do base that on your history. Your election in december. They are aware of a third family closure to many people to actually early december. The Prime Minister this morning would not go as far as of a 19 year old man who also appears to be missing. Be on the site, to see where. The chancellor sajid javid in saying that is three families who have been directly or indirectly that the uk will not be able to where it happened. I think thats in touch with the bbc. Going to be a good thing for the leave the European Union at the end we are also aware of at least two other vietnamese families entire Leicester City family and, as of october now, at that deadline you say, its nice maybe for who are making appeals next thursday and insisted we still supporters of other clubs that have could but that was down to the eu. By social media. It is up to Jeremy Corbyn to decide whether he wants to get heard about the characters this deal done or not. Personality to go and pay tribute to and we are making it very very clear that we will, the reports, we were reporting as the chancellor rightly said this on this story right him. From the beginning, since announcing his highly morning, we will give some extra anticipated foray into wwe they were picking up on these. Former heavyweight champion tyson fury has been accused time to get this thing done by Deontay Wilder of using it if and only if the labour party as a way of getting out the vietnamese social media sphere, will agree to an election of their heavyweight duel in february. Vietnamese chat forums the wbc heavyweight champion told on december the 12th. A british newspaper said fury were reporting that it had is getting in his excuses early. And as far as i can see been very tragic. Earlier, fury told my colleague at the moment, the labour party jane dougal he doesnt care a large loss of life what wilder says or does. Is split from top to bottom, but also in terms of people and they cant work out being smuggled around the world, whether or not they are in favour of an election, which is the thing it is very significant they are supposed to be its confirmed, february 22, as far campaigning for for the last three and a half years. Asi its confirmed, february 22, as far well, it sounds like your that there could be any vietnamese as i know, its on but you want a wilder has a fight with lewis ortiz government is split as well. People on board, that was just the chancellor was clear, speculative about the point next so we will have to see what we wont be able to leave and there were these individual on october the 31st. Was he wrong . Stories starting to come out. Well, at the moment its up happens. Deontay wilder said he does to the eu as you know and it looks more and more likely, to decide whether or not they are going to give certainly not all of the people not think it will happen. Us an extension. Happens. Deontay wilder said he does not think it will happenlj happens. Deontay wilder said he does not think it will happen. I have no as things stand, we can leave interest in what Deontay Wilder says on october the 31st. Or does to be fair. Parliament, as you know, on board because the timing of some has decided that they want to ask you can hear the full interview of these contacts at the families with tyson on sportsday at 6. 30. Brussels to keep us in the eu. At the families have had, one last story to bring you. Lewis hamilton can win his 6th f1 thats not my policy, the last timings they have had to do drivers World Championship this its not something i support. Coincide with the moment im totally against it. Weekend if he beats mercedes the refrigerated trailer teammate Valteri Bottas we should be leaving crossed the channel. By 14 points in mexico. You can follow coverage via the bbc on october at the 315t. Sport website and app first practice starts at 4pm thats at the moment the eu is trying to make up its mind what to do. The Vietnamese Embassy in london all the sport for now. We should be leaving on october the 315t. Confirm there was contact about a now its time to get some woman fade to be one of those found of your questions on brexit answered what im saying to Jeremy Corbyn, with ben brown at westminster. And the labour party, dead. A spokesman for the embassy is if they want to make some progress on this and build said there contacted by a family on the success that we had from vietnam which said their in agreeing that deal on tuesday, daughter had been missing since the lorry was found. A spokesman said then its very very simple, we can bring back the withdrawal bill, they have contacted essex police and they have contacted essex police and they are waiting for an answer. It we can discuss it again in parliament, we can have is the latest we have from the more debates on brexit, Vietnamese Embassy full toss in if thats what he really wants, ive been asking my question is all london. You are watching afternoon but theyve got to agree a deadline. To various politicians but this is live, seven minutes past three. When you ask your questions about brexit and hopefully we get to a nswer brexit and hopefully we get to answer them. Jill rutter the Prime Minister then turning his now to westminster for the latest from Research Group uk sights on Jeremy Corbyn, Brexit Developments ben brown is there. In a changing europe is with us. The Prime Minister then turning his sights onJeremy Corbyn, the labour thank you for being with us. Most of party and other opposition parties eu ambassadors met today to discuss in parliament over his challenge to a brexiter extension for the uk. These are from twitter. Daniel first them to back a general election, but they agreed in principle they should of all, can the Prime Minister be an extension but they didnt reject any extension from the eu . We is not conceding as the chancellor agree how long the extension did now that the eu has said it will would be. They will meet again next know the eu ambassadors have been accept a request for an extension to meeting today to discuss an the brexit process, the uk cannot extension, the Prime Minister reject leave at the end of this month. So any . Not on his own, no. One point week. France are pushing for a short from a member of that act that mps what of that challenge to opposition extension and countries like germany parties . You heard the prime say it could be the end of january enacted in september was to take the minister saying there thatjeremy 2020 next year. In the meantime, question of extension out of the corbyn should in his words man up, borisjohnson still pushing and priming of thes hands, so if the eu the labour leader has been speaking this morning as well and saying that going for a general election on proposes january he has to accept december the 12th, just before it. If they propose a different he is happy to back a general date, which is possible, if at some christmas. Is he going to get it . Election but only if the prospect of well find out on monday butjeremy argument going on in the eu about a no deal brexit is completely ruled what they do, you can only reject it out. Heres what he had to say. Corbyn the labour leader said he would only agree to a general get no deal taken off the table with contempt of parliament. That first, because it would be election then if no deal was might consent of parliament. They catastrophic forjobs, businesses in britain. Com pletely election then if no deal was completely ta ken off would have to agree to go with a take no deal off the table election then if no deal was completely taken off the table by different date or no date. Jeff is and we will have the election. The Prime Minister. Lets get more on this no deal, think what it does, now from our Political Correspondentjessica parker. Ford in bridgend gone, asking how much will we have to pay nissan in sunderland ready to go mrjohnson was in Milton KeynesEuropean Union during an extension . Today, and again saying he really if they lose their trade access, the interesting thing is actually it wa nts today, and again saying he really wants this christmas election. Yes, airbus in north wales, really trying to push that idea and really just changes where the interesting thing is actually it reallyjust changes where things are and so on all across the country. Hang on. On the day that of course we have so, how long do we have to wait, only valid because as part of the then, because if he doesnt say had the chancellor of the exchequer saying he doesnt think that 31st of deal, we paying our contribution what you want him to say. I think probably a couple of. October deadline can be met, boris how much longer . That he owed under the 2014 2020 eu i think probably a couple of days. Johnson wasnt quite willing to say so himself today. He says have to tx sot that was Jeremy Corbyn speaking financial framework, you are wait to see what the eu has to say which we expect may now be on monday that wasJeremy Corbyn speaking on itv. Jonathan, Jeremy Corbyn not as you are outlining but boris entirely clear about his position, that he owed under the 2014 2020 eu financialframework, you are paying out until december 2020. If we are johnson really trying to put the saying if no deal is taken off the pressure onJeremy Corbyn ahead of in an extension, we keep paying table he would go along with the this vote on monday as to whether to that, scout is a budget contribution idea of a december election, but have a general election on december from a member state. If we left, we the 12th, telling Jeremy Corbyn to count as part of our financial isnt it the reality that a lot of settle m e nt man up and go for a snap poll, lets count as part of our financial settlement but it does not change labour mps isnt it the reality that a lot of labourmps simply isnt it the reality that a lot of labour mps simply dont want an here at all so if you want the election at the moment and wouldnt listen to what borisjohnson has answer, it makes no difference if vote one even ifJeremy Corbyn tells been saying. It is up to Jeremy Corbyn to decide them that they should . That is the you extend to how much we pay. If we whether he wants to get this deal done or not. Leave with a deal that is. If it is case. There are many labour mps who and we are making it very, without a deal, some people say we very clear that we will, are not happy about the prospect of would not pay that financial as the chancellor rightly said this an election in the coming weeks. Morning, we will give some extra settle m e nt would not pay that financial settlement but the eu has made they look at the opinion polls and time to get this thing done absolutely clear that the moment you if and only if the labour party Start Talking about trade with them think frankly their party doesnt again, they would say, what about will agree to an election stand a chance of winning at the on december the 12th. And as far as i can see all that money you are asked. Joe is moment. Jeremy corbyn would of at the moment, the labour party course disagree with that and there are many labourmps asking why Boris Johnson all that money you are asked. Joe is asking why borisjohnson what an course disagree with that and there are many labour mps who would be up is split from top to bottom, election. Why is he wanting one . For the fight but that is part of and they cant work out whether or not they are in favour the dynamic here you have in that is probably want to go to the of an election, which is the thing downing street strategists. Boris parliament, with opposition parties being in the curious position of they are supposed to be campaigning for for the last being in the curious position of being very reluctant to push for a three and a half years. Johnson. Lets ask why might you want well, it sounds like your one. One of which is because he is general election, which in normal government is split as well. Times are something you might expect for them to be very keen to have. The chancellor was clear, we wont be able to leave governing in a menorah position, he that is part of the equation when on october the 31st. Was he wrong . Has made that worst by expelling Jeremy Corbyn is calculating whether well, at the moment its up those tories who rebelled against to the eu as you know them from the party. Its very clear to back borisjohnsons called for to decide whether or not an early election or not. As things they are going to give us an extension. As it wasnt a reason i was trying as things stand, we can leave stand if the eu doesnt respond to on october the 315t. To govern that it is difficult for a government to get business through that request for an extension, parliament, as you know, has decided that they want to Ask Parliament so if you want to be a taking it up until the end of brussels to keep us in the eu. Prime minister who does things, and he would put a lot of emphasis about january, it is very unlikely labour will back a general election when his ambitious point in his speech. That vote happens in parliament on thats not my policy, its not something i support. Im totally against it. If you want to do that, he needs a monday, which means borisjohnson if he still wants the election will we should be leaving majority, slightly more venal you, have to try and try again until on october the 315t. At the moment the eu is trying you might be looking at polls and either opposition parties relent to make up its mind what to do. Thinking he is doing well at the over there is a vote of no moment. That is a good to trying confidence in his government or he we should be leaving on october the 315t. Achieves one byte some other means, what im saying to Jeremy Corbyn, to do whatever the opposition is and the labour party, doing, they appear divided. Third, but for now it something of a is if they want to make some stand off. Progress on this and build next year, he has a really difficult but for now it something of a standoff. Thank you. Johnson blake on the success that we had negotiations coming up because although we will say ive got brexit has been in Milton Keynes with the in agreeing that deal on tuesday, done, if you get a feel through, Prime Minister. Lets go to thatis done, if you get a feel through, that is the easy part. It does not brussels. Our correspondent adam then its very, very simple, we can fleming is there. There was eu bring back the withdrawal bill, seem easy, it has in the last three ambassadors meeting this morning to we can discuss it again yea rs. Seem easy, it has in the last three years. But part two is what our discuss the brexit delight and in parliament, we can have future relationship is and that is extension but they have delayed the likely to be every bit as decision on the delay. They met, more debates on brexit, controversial in parliament. We saw if thats what he really wants, some skirmishing around that. With but theyve got to agree a deadline. Discussed but they did not decide the most raw agreement, with a such as the Political Uncertainty as majority of his own and with his they see it in the uk. They will life of conservative as well, so a carry on speaking to each other over conservative party of the johnson the weekend and reconvene in person thats Boris Johnson thats borisjohnson the Prime Minister speaking in Milton Keynes image, he would have a free rain to on monday, or maybe even as late as earlier. He really wants for tuesday, which means it could be negotiate the kind of brexit he quite some time before we get a christmas this election, doesnt he wa nts negotiate the kind of brexit he wants long term. Brett is asking, decision from the eu on the duration come at the present he once. All he of any extension. The agreement on what happens if the deadline is wa nts for come at the present he once. All he wants for christmas. In the old days the need for the extension, if they extended to january 31, which looks the Prime Minister could say we are dont we could head for a no deal having election and call an quite likely, but no election is brexit is that is hardly surprising election, remind us why a prime so called, so the situation essentially that they cant agree on how long it nowadays has to get the support of should be. Adam, that this palm and. The fixedterm parliaments that exists at the moment remains. Act is what changed everything. The that is all speculation. What would agreement, is it the french and Prime Minister needs two thirds of not change . That would be the uk particularly president macron at the mps to vote in favour of the snap heart of that disagreement arguing would still be an eu member, we for a shorter extension and other election on monday. Thats why he would still be an eu member, we would still be facing a new deal countries may be saying give them needs labour mps, he doesnt on his exit, assuming the deal has not been three months till the end of own side have enough. There are approved on the 31st of january but january . That is totally right. Possible other routes the government the other thing we still know is could look up to try and bring about Emmanuel Macron stands basically there is a nodal majority and that alone saying they should be a short a snap election including this idea extension either to the 15th or 13th ofa a snap election including this idea of a one line bill where you could parliament so we might expect to maybe even name the date and that see, though the one thing that would would only need a simple majority, change would be a different speaker, of november perhaps because a short we might expect to see mps try to do not two thirds of mps but the sharp extension isjust what they did in september and of november perhaps because a short sharp extension is just a short sharp extension is just a short complication there is that could be sharp shock of the british amended in a number of ways that ensure the Prime Minister could not Parliament Needs to finally row in behind this deal and get it passed. Could make life potentially a bit ta ke ensure the Prime Minister could not take the uk out of the eu without a more difficult for the government. I deal. We might also see patients however the other 26 countries are think that is why the government is going again for the deaf tpa option really begin to fray in the eu opposed to that. They say, look, the because you know president lip of the Prime Minister said that as it is known, what it is suggested he was compelled to do by the over the last 26 hours we will try British Parliament matt wrote the deontmacrponay president macron letter. It says 31st of january and again againstand it makes sense to do that is the day. If you do something sooner what over the last 26 hours we will try again against and again. Labour saying no deal has to be taken of of that data is missed and then the table and lets have a listen to eve ryo ne of that data is missed and then everyone is back here having the the table and lets have a listen to the labour Leaderjeremy Corbyn. Is not particularly keen on the deal same debate again butjust in two but you might find yourselves on repeat from now. We are there is weeks time and also what about if you create the situation for an weve got to get no deal taken off the table first, accidental no deal where the process because it would be catastrophic forjobs, businesses in britain. For another extension after the 15th take no deal off the table 01 for another extension after the 15th another question, can we not have a or 30th of november just for another extension after the 15th or 30th of novemberjust doesnt and we will have the election. Work . So that is what you have got. No deal, think what it does, ford in bridgend gone, referendum on general election at nissan in sunderland ready to go the same time . You like that is a idid speak work . So that is what you have got. I did speak to a couple of diplomats good idea, two for the price of one, from a couple of countries this if they lose their trade access, you could solve everything and then morning saying that actually the airbus in north wales, you could solve everything and then you could solve everything and then you could vote it on the election, fa ct morning saying that actually the fact that labour wont support the and so on all across the country. On the issues like the Health Election and the other opposition hang on. Parties show no sign of ever so, how long do we have to wait, service, education, those sorts of agreeing to the election, it makes then, because if he doesnt say issues and make your mind up on what you want him to say. Brexit at the same time but the them think maybe Emmanuel Macron is not totally wrong. Problem is if i think probably a couple of. Electoral commission which is the how much longer . I think probably a couple of days. Body that regulates elections in they cant break this deadlock on this country has warned very this site about this we could be he is saying he will have an strongly against doing that because heading for an emergency summit and while it would be cheaper, you only just imagine that, an emergency election if no deal is completely summit by the eu to try and agree taken off the table, but how exactly need to book one bunch of polling stations, they think there is a real the extension deadline on tuesday or could be taken off the table. His danger you would end up with two parallel campaigns confusing the wednesday, what about even if it is suggestion was a Prime Minister would come to the house and say so on brexit day itself on the 31st of electorate and you could produce a and give some kind of guarantee. We october, imagine how that would we re very muddled outcome so strong and give some kind of guarantee. We were hearing earlier from advice as you should not do both at feel. Quite surreali and give some kind of guarantee. We were hearing earlierfrom the shadow the same time. Theoretically it is october, imagine how that would feel. Quite surreal i suppose october, imagine how that would home secretary diane abbott who was feel. Quite surreali suppose is october, imagine how that would feel. Quite surreal i suppose is the a nswer to talking about some sort of legal feel. Quite surreal i suppose is the answer to that. Thank you very much, adam fleming for us in brussels. Guarantee. The thing is it isnt just a question about whether they possible but what you would have to lets get more on this now could be a no deal on october the do is watch the timings as well because when you do elections after with the mep and chair sist, of the brexit party richard tice. Could be a no deal on october the 31st, or a no deal at the end of an five weeks, 25 calendar days, thank you for being with us. Good extension on the 1st of february, one of the concerns being slightly less than five weeks, the afternoon. Do you want an election highlighted is that even if mps referendum is that quite a bit on december the 12th . Yes, the longer because we dont have any sooner on december the 12th . Yes, the sooner the better is for the brexit approve their Withdrawal Agreement, may be at the end of the Transition Party is concerned. We have been period, even though you have agreed standing legislation about having a saying for months that we need a the terms of divorce, you can still referendum so you have to have quite general election and we need a leave then fall back on to say wto terms a long process to put a bill through alliance to deliver a thumping majority. The only way we can get a parliament, decide who gets to vote, in terms of trading at a Free Trade Agreement has been reached, so that proper proper brexit done. At the is whatJeremy Corbyn is referring it might not be the same franchise moment is what we have got actually to when he talks a potential as the general election franchise, is there is huge brexit fatigue and trapdoor within the brexit deal, but might have people voting one and not the Prime Minister has used that he there is another complication for has felt compelled to concede huge Jeremy Corbyn. Yes, he will say and the other but the Electoral Committee are supposed to consult on of course opposition leaders will the question to make sure it is fair concessions to try and get it done say, iam of course opposition leaders will say, i am gung of course opposition leaders will say, iam gung ho of course opposition leaders will between the two sides and a whole say, i am gung ho for of course opposition leaders will say, iam gung ho fora of course opposition leaders will say, i am gung ho for a general election, of course i wanted to have by the 31st october. What has he the other guys out and get the keys different bunch of processes run so conceded . The real key is what to number10, it could be confusing. We are the other guys out and get the keys to number 10, but plenty of his own Michel Barnier in strasbourg the mps are not keen on an election. One other day when he said in a running out of time but howard wants of the reasons they think a december to know what it would take to election is not a very good time to guarantee that a nodal brexit is off Committee Meeting he said that go to the polls, its rather cold, the table. If borisjohnson can essentially this was going to be at not idealfor least three years of negotiations on go to the polls, its rather cold, not ideal for activists out in the snow if they are in areas where that a free trade deal. That means might happen, but if you talk to guarantee that. You like there is some labour mps, frankly they fear actually the bill has just gone up only two ways of doing so they might not do terribly well. Definitively. One is to pass a deal. From 39 billion to over £65 billion. What about the other opposition when the piejobs from 39 billion to over £65 billion. When the pie jobs for people they parties, the liberal democrats, snp, will be absolutely furious that we a bit like theresa may. The second are still going to be strapped in what have they been saying, what is is to revoke article 50 and stop the their position . The snp have been the sing for years to years to come. Whole process. Thank you keen on the idea of an election for very much indeed. Answering them light is on the reality Boris Johnson has told the brexit partys a little while now and iain black gloves . Johnson has told the brexit partys gloves . That is why he is doing for the westminster lady was talking pretty well the opinion polls, he is about potentially an even earlier election around december the 5th, chipping away at your performance on with a considerable amount of the pulse. We would be thrilled if clarity as well. Seem to favour the vote of he adopts our clothes of a clean no confidence rate. Early break brexit. That is what we have indications i think is that it will be very difficult for borisjohnson britains biggest remaining been urging him to do and that is payday loan provider, to get the majority he would need on quickquid, is to close what we know is the best thing for the country. Like when you say clean monday. The liberal democrats again with thousands of complaints saying they are up for an election about its lending still unresolved. Break you mean no deal . Obviously when you have longer nights then you have a better chance there is an overwhelming sense of that was an excruciating day for of seeing it, but i think there is relief now that the climb has them because the two people they no pattern particularly to these most loved the new world with those closed. It will be lifted as of under the knife at the same time, so solar winds that come out and head our way. They are not always a horrible day for them and my today. I can feel it. Time to have a deflecting towards the poles but husband as well. Luckily, everything thatis deflecting towards the poles but that is where we tend to see them most of all. A lot of green in these good rest and heal up. More than 35 went smoothly, we came out of pictures but lots of other colours. Theatre both of us with no real people have died on uluru since the yes, this is from oxygen. But will issues and here we are six months 19505. People have died on uluru since the 1950s. Today a man held down by you be able to see the same thing on, happy as larry, feeling good and tonight . I think the storm is not rangers is another reminder that the quite as strong. You might be able really healthy, so its great. Only rock can be unforgiving. Despite the to and it is worth weather watchers six months on, it seems like you sending in any pictures tonight but it does not quite as powerful and bounce back remarkably quickly. You dangers and cultural sensitivities, some climbers hope one day to may be a little bit weaker but worth might yes, the thing with the living return. I hope they reopen it and i donation which is why they are so heading out for a look because we will have some clearer skies across hope the people do reconsider and i this part of the uk. For a north goodis donation which is why they are so good is often the kidney works hope the people do reconsider and i north . Yes, for anybody living in straightaway and our operations were hope they may in time make a clear actually run concurrently so dad went down a couple of hours before i path for people to enjoy the rock did and was still in theatre when shetland, probably quite used to again. Its not universally popular, seeing Something Like this. Those they were starting to operate on me, closing the climb will bring to an who havent seen it before will be so they were able literally to take really excited and i am excited just the kidney out of one operating talking about it but the skies are theatre, clean it up a bit, make end years of distress for aboriginal probably used to seeing it, sure it was flushed and ready to go spectacular. Hello, this is an afternoon live, im martine croxall. Three vietnamese families have contacted the bbc saying they fear their loved ones are amongst the 39 people who died we have had sunshine of the parts of in a refrigerated container scotland. Cold enough for the first in essex on wednesday. Snow of the month in the mountain one family received a text saying that their relative was dying tops. A few more wintry showers. And couldnt breathe. It has previously been reported that the individuals across northern parts of scotland. Were chinese nationals. Tu phan from the bbcs Vietnamese Service is here with more. Wind is blowing through the channel. This is a really horrific development. Tell us more about how its not moving very far at all. It came to light. Since the news should be largely dry in parts of broke about the lorry with 39 bodies england, scotland, not much rain in the south east where it is on wednesday morning, there has been particularly mild overnight with a lot of interest and concern among huge temper that might enrich a contrast night. That rain keeps the vietnamese people in the uk as going into saturday. Notjust over well as back in vietnam that there south wales but also over the hills might be vietnamese victims. Since of wales. We will see heavy rain and last night we have received the risk of flooding and travel information from three families, we actually spoke to them. They are disruption. There is a rain band, very worried that their loved ones not moving from overnight. Slowly it might be on the lorry. One will head down toward the south east of england. Should be drier across particular case is of pham tra my. Wales, southwest, Northern England she is a 26 year old woman. The last eventually. Continuing in the north west of the uk. Getting colder message she sent to her family was from the north as well as that rain moves into the south east of england very distressing. She was saying, i and weve the last of the mild air love you, i am sorry, it didnt work but it will be wetter in the afternoon on saturday. That for the out, and i am suffocating. I front afternoon on saturday. That for the fro nt ta kes afternoon on saturday. That for the front takes the rain away from the south east and then High Pressure couldnt breathe. So, since then the signal to the west of the uk means we drawdown this cold north westerly family have not been able to contact wind. That will bring a frost. We her and they asked the bbc to pass head into sunday morning, an extra on details, her details to the hourin head into sunday morning, an extra hour in bed under the duvet. It will police. We have done that. Also we not warm up a great deal. Some gales have heard from two other families, in the north east of scotland. Northern scotland will see most of one of them is of a 26 year old man the showers, many other places and another one is of a 19 year old should be dry and sunny but it will feel a lot cooler as well. Southern woman, also with the same concerns. Parts of the uk further north, one interesting thing is that the family of pham tra my has told us that the smugglers, the people 911dc. Smugglers have returned the money which they paid to them in order to bring her into the uk. That is this is bbc news our latest headlines. Telling i think. It is extremely the Prime Minister insists the uk alarming and it begs the question can still leave the eu next week why would they do that. And a lot of and calls again for a december money changes hands, doesnt it, to election get people to this country . Yes. We for mps across the house to have any believe these families have paid the people smugglers tens of thousands of pounds in order to get into the credibility about delivering brexit, they now have to commit to an uk and we are hoping to receive more election on december the 12th, so thatis election on december the 12th, so that is what wishing for. Information. There appears to be a but the chancellor said earlier the brexit deadline of october list of 11 victims, vietnamese the 31st would not be met. Meanwhile eu ambassadors agree to another brexit delay victims that the community here in but wont announce a new deadline the uk have been able to establish and we hope to have more details date until next week. Very soon. How much information of labour has to decide whether to vote the families in vietnam got about for a december election Jeremy Corbyn says his conditions the families in vietnam got about have to be met. The journey that their children, well have all the latest that the relatives would be making . They have got information up until developments from westminster. They are about into the uk in some our other main stories two more arrests in connection with the deaths of 39 people whose bodies were found cases, they have been able to get in in a lorry in essex. Touch with the missing relatives investigators blame design flaws right up until then. They sort of and human errorfor the lion air crash last year off the indonesian know where they were going. |j suppose this tells us the power of coast in which 189 people died social media, doesnt it, that news of something that is happening here in essex is reaching those families in vietnam. Yes, absolutely, they are following it very closely, what police are saying, but the uk government is doing, they can follow lets get more on this contact from very closely in vietnam. Postmortem examinations are being carried out the refrigerated lorry on wednesday on some of the bodies. Morning in essex. Concern is their Richard Galpin is in essex for us. Relatives may have been among those who died. Our Home Affairs First of all, tell us about these correspondentjoins us now. Daniel sanford our Home Affairs Correspondentjoins us now, arrests. Obviously some very with some developing news about the nationality of those 29 significant developments. It seems people who died in that container. The Police Investigation is moving essex police said all the people who at speed. As you say, to mark more died in that refrigerator 12 are chinese. We started being contacted people have now been arrested, both by people who were vietnamese and in particular that it being contacted yesterday by the family of a in their late 30s, a man and a woman in their late 30s, a man and a woman in the chester area, they are from warrington. They have been arrested 26 year old woman from vietnam and he was very concerned because they on suspicion of conspiracy to traffic people and on suspicion of paid traffic is £30,000 for her to be moved from vietnam to the uk, 39 counts of manslaughter. This staying in touch with her during her afternoon the bbc has been able to speak to some of the neighbours of journey and they had a message from these two people. Very well, we her later on tuesday night, uk time, saying, sorry, im not going to make it, im suffocating. They had seen the news about these dead bodies spoke about football, got on very well with the children. You couldnt being found in the orient they put two and two together and worried. Meet more well behaved well with the children. You couldnt meet more well behaved are well mannered children. I cant say any theyve not heard from her since. More than that. I wasjust so shocked. I feel for the children. Staggered about the news. Such a shock. Of course, the other person weve had contact from a 36 year old who has been arrested a couple of man taking a similar route from days ago now as the driver of the lorry, a 25 year old man. He has had vietnam through china. She was we assume further questioning today. The police managed to get more time so that they could speak to him for turning off her phone, she was longer. That time has run out now as trying to avoid capture while she far as we understand it, so we are waiting to see what the next move of was in the container and they the police will be in his case. Havent heard from her since. The people that they had to pay to smuggle her to the uk have since richard, thank you very much. Richard, thank you very much. Richard galpin in tilbury. Returned some money. To the family. They are aware of a third family of lets turn to brexit a 19 year old man who also appears now and to westminster, where ben brown has the latest. Welcome to westminster. To be missing. That is three eu ambassadors have agreed that the uk should be offered families who have been directly or a further delay to brexit indirectly in touch with the bbc. We are also aware of at least two other but they havent yet decided on a new deadline date. Vietnamese families who are making appeals by social media. The report, they will meet again next week to we we re appeals by social media. The report, decide that. We were reporting on this story so, will this lead right from the beginning, they were to a general election . The Prime Minister says he wants to hold one on 12 december, picking up on these. New vietnamese if the eu offers a brexit delay until 31 january. Brussels says it hopes to finalise a date by early next week social media sphere, vietnamese chat forums were reporting that it had so we should get some clarity in the coming days. This report from our political been very tragic. A large loss of correspondent nick eardley Jeremy Corbyn has said if no deal is taken off the table, labour would life but also in terms of people being smuggled around the world, it is very significant that they could support a general election. Boris johnson has told him to man up. Our Political Correspondent nick eardley be any viennese people on board, reports. It goes on. A prime that was just speculative about the point and there were these minister who can force brexit individual stories starting to come through, facing mps determined to keep control of the process. Can it out. And it looks more and more continue . He thinks not. A few days likely, certainly not all of the more scrutiny for his deal and then people on board because the timing a general election as a way out. More scrutiny for his deal and then a general election as a way outlj think for mps across the house to of some of these contacts at the families have had, the last time have any credibility about they have had to do coincide with delivering brexit, they now have to they have had to do coincide with the moment the refrigerated trailer across the channel. Commit to an election under. The time for corbyn, man up, lets have an election on december the top. Brexit next week, it looks almost impossible now. A few weeks ago it was halloween, no ifs, no buts, now sport now on afternoon live there is about. Because of the with holly hamilton a big weekend of rugby the semi final stage with england actions of parliament and especially facing world champions new zealand. OfJeremy Corbyn, we have had more but preparations today hampered by the weather. It does feel like there is a stone deader and more delay and now we coming for england. As if obviously have to accept we wont be able to leave on a total of 315t because parliament has requested an the prospect it has been teaming extension and although we havent heard back from the eu yet, its down in yokohama. It is expected to likely i think we just have to assume that they will agree to clear out for saturday at i dont parliament was not request. Eu ambassadors met today to discuss an extension, but they are waiting to see what parliament does next. The think it was but a bit of rain is eu ambassadors will discuss a second time and the extension request for the uk. To force an election two probably the least of their worries. Thirds of mps need to back one. The government needs opposition votes. Labour has conditions. It might be ha rd labour has conditions. It might be hard to meet. Providing the Prime Minister comes to parliament on monday and makes it absolutely clear he is going to make sure that there is no crash out, because his deal you cannot be a spectator at the includes the possibility of a show. Youve got to be on the stage. No deal exit. He is going to have to youve got to be making the script. Do that. Labour though is split, between those urging Jeremy Corbyn to seize the moment and go for an election, and those worried about the poles who would rather focus on another referendum. As mr corbyn you talk about addressing mulls his options over the weekend, he knows if he backs another election there is no guarantee all his mps will support it. Even among those who are eager for an election, there is deep distrust of the governments motives. The premise is that the other thing as the teams worked much harder of the field. Not playing a straight hand here. What he has nothing to do is in the that helps them get through much short term, to discuss his more difficult situations on the withdrawal beam and bill. We dont consent to the withdrawal print bill. Its about taking a sort of field. 9am in yokohama. They look to year. We want to stay in europe. Thats what scotland voted for. get through to their fourth cup he get his way there will be many final but can they do it . On sunday, more morning sickness. Visits around the country on a general election wales play south africa in the second semifinal and they have a few campaign. For Boris Johnson, injury concerns. Yesterday we spoke the country on a general Election Campaign. For borisjohnson, one about the fact that the williams was thing election and getting one will be very Different Things indeed. Out with an ankle injury and today Warren Gatland has revealed the starting line up to face them on lets talk to john curtice saturday. They both feature, despite themselves being injury doubts for themselves being injury doubts for the game but lee halfpenny has been be very Different Things indeed. Lets talk tojohn curtice in our glasgow studio. How unusual would it be to have a christmas election like this if it were to happen. By modern brought in. He is undoubtedly a big standards rather unusual. The last time it happened was in 1923 when we had an election on the 6th of loss from an attacking perspective december. But it has to be said, and what he has achieved in the game that was actually one of a trio, in the last year or so, but bringing amongst the seven elections that in the last year or so, but bringing we re amongst the seven elections that were held in 1919 23, three of them we re were held in 1919 23, three of them were held in 1919 23, three of them were held in 1919 23, three of them were held in december. Since then christmas has become a much bigger in the experience. Thing, the country shuts down for two weeks and for two weeks before thatis two weeks and for two weeks before that is heavily loaded with various kinds of celebrations, so it might be argued that it has become rather more difficult to hold an election in december now than it once was, the left back Aleksandar Zinchenko even though of course we do have the convenience unlike our has been posting updates on social great grandparents convenience unlike our great grandpa rents of electric lighting and central heating etc, media about being on the way back. But it seems as though we dont like it only adds to the injury woes for the idea of going overwinter butwe the premier League Champions are already missing centre back emerick are happy to go out in image of laporte and midfielder roderigo christmas but apparently upper appeared to pick up a hamstring politics. Boris johnson we know is problem in midweek. Very keen for this christmas election, is he right to can, do you think you would when it . If we look at the poles of the currently stand, you can see why he is minded to go for it. On average now in the polls the conservatives are ten points a Memorial Garden will open as a ahead of labour and some put that tribute to those who died. Even higher than that, some as much a Memorial Garden will open as a tribute to those who diedm a Memorial Garden will open as a as 15, but all those figures on any reasonable assumption point to a tribute to those who died. It will majority conservative government, and probably one with a sufficient majority that mrjohnson would be able to get his brexit deal through bring to have it on the site it the house of commons with relative happened, great for the Leicester City family and nice for maybe ease, and certainly much greater supporters of other clubs. About his ease, and certainly much greater ease than what he faces at the moment. That said however, we have to remember his party will be legacy, his character, his expected to lose ground in scotland, will be expected to lose ground to the liberal democrats, and if the leader of labour were to pull back personality. Wild reportedly said he and that ten point lead is relatively recent, he could find himself facing a Hung Parliament thinks fury will pull out. He spoke territory. The crucial battle is to jane dougal ahead of his match in going to be between borisjohnson saudi arabia at the end of this and nigel farage. You have heard they are sajid javid making it as clear as he possibly could that it month. It is confirmed, it is on. Is not ourfault clear as he possibly could that it is not our fault that we have not delivered on the 31st of october, it the entree wilder has a fight with is parliaments fault, jeremy lewis ortiz next, so we want to see corbyns fault, it wasnt us what what happens with that. Jonty wilde did it, that is not what nigel has been reported as saying he does farage will say. He will say why not think it is going to happen. Didnt you just leave the European Union without a deal, and your deal isnt a very good one anyway and has been reported as saying he does this is the third time in a row that not think it is going to happenlj have no interest is what he says. You have failed to deliver brexit, you can hear the full interview at and it is the relative strength of 6 30pm. One last sorry to bring you. Those arguments, Boris Johnson this housing can wind his sixth saying it wasnt me and by the way formula 1 driver championship this its only by voting for me that brexit is going to happen, and nigel weekend if he beats his mercedes farage saying you cant trust him, team mate val terry bought by 16 he cant deliver, the only party points in mexico. First practice thatis he cant deliver, the only party that is the true believer in brexit is the brexit party, and it is on that battle, the battle that will start at apm. That is all your hitherto Boris Johnson that battle, the battle that hitherto borisjohnson has been sport for now. Winning, but we will have to wait and see whether he continues to win now that he hasnt delivered by halloween. John, just briefly, to now its time to get some of your questions on brexit answered look at the labour side, we are with ben brown at westminster. Hearing even ifJeremy Corbyn were to agree to have an election on december the 12 of mps would not vote for it because they fear the consequences, are they right to be fearful . It is the converse of what youve been sending in your questions relating to brexit i have just been saying. The and here to answer them fearful . It is the converse of what i havejust been saying. The labour is Jess Sargeant from party is ten points behind the the institute for government. Conservatives and they are at 25 , even less than the 28 they got in 1983 which is our all time low, they are led by the most unpopular leader of the opposition ever and the party ifa if a date other if a date in is split on brexit and voters dont understand what their Party Position is. You can understand why labour january is offered, can you prime mps might be a bit nervous against minister declined such a date . That that backdrop. John curtice, thank you for being with us. More with was need him to seek an extension, sebastian payne, whitehall if they agree to the january correspondent of the financial deadline, the eu, he is required to times. We were hearing the cabinet we re times. We were hearing the cabinet accept that. If the eu request a were quite split on thisjohnson idea of pushing for this christmas different date, he can put that to election. Yes, not just parliament and if they declined to idea of pushing for this christmas election. Yes, notjust the cabinet but i think his inner circle and the approve that, they can reject the conservative party. Because it is a extension. Quite highly unlikely huge risk for the Prime Minister they will say no to a different date because if you have that election considering they were the ones who which it looks unlikely but if it asked the Prime Minister to extend did happen, the fact is the brexit party would run inside that boris any first place. The electoral johnson betrayed them on the leaving date which is true, not leaving on october the 31st, plus the lib dems amendment, why has that not kicked eating into their vote in the metropolitan places in the south as in to prevent the uk leaving without well. Nobody knows what that a deal following it in to prevent the uk leaving without a dealfollowing it being in to prevent the uk leaving without a deal following it being approved bya campaign will look like. Will it be a deal following it being approved by a parliamentary majority. The a campaign about brexit or asJeremy Corbyn wants it, will it be about domestic issues, so if it becomes about public services, amendment did not mean that, is meant the deal was not approved on infrastructure, the economy, that is much more difficult for the tories saturday and so it kicked in at the to win than if it is a straight vote Prime Minister was asked to request about brexit. I think ultimately the an extension. He has now done that and we are waiting for the eu to say reason they want this election is whether they accept that or not. Ben they cant see a route to getting they cant see a route to getting the brexit deal through the house of on twitter, i hasten to add, is commons without it changing substantially. So the risk of that versus the risk of the election, the asking, the Withdrawal Agreement heralds a two year trade negotiation at which point either a deal is election is the lesser one stop light is a chance of him getting announced and an extension as this christmas election . Jeremy requested or you trade on no deal. Corbyn saying that if he is sure no deal offers a table then he will go along with it. But what does that or betrayed on no deal . Mean because the only way to take requested or you trade on no deal. Or betrayed on no deal . There are two forms, one of which is leaving no deal off the table is to revoke without a restore agreement and the article 50 and stay in the eu or other is leaving without. Without a pass a brexit deal. In theory future trade agreement. In both no deal could never be off the table, you would have another those cases, in order to prevent extension, another cliff edge as that happening, after the deadline long as this process continues most is up, an extension will be needed of the factors labour is just playing political games at the moment because they are way behind and so that will require an agreement from the eu, so there is in the opinion polls, as sirjohn really no way we can unilaterally curtis was just outlining there. And prevent that from happening and they are not in good conditions for there are ways to compel the Prime Minister to seek an extension in them to have an election just before christmas when it is cold, wet, either case. Scott from windsor is dark, and lots of University Stu d e nts dark, and lots of University Students who traditionally back labour are going to be at home. So asking, is there anything to stop Jeremy Corbyn resisting a general they still want an election, just election until after may 2022. There not quite now, but it is beginning to look a little ridiculous for labour. This is the second or third is nothing that can be done to force attempt they have said no to an election and the excuses are them to back a motion but they cant eventually going to run out, but i seek one with labour mps, so the dont see any sense thatJeremy Corbyn will suddenly change their minds and say lets have an election vote that parliament will have on right now or in fact they might want monday requires a two thirds to let Boris Johnson majority and that will require the right now or in fact they might want to let borisjohnson stew in this support of labour mps. If that does very difficult situation that he can not go through, instead the pass this bicycle, cant have a general election, he is getting government could call no confidence brexit delays forced on him by that like a vote of no confidence in parliament and the eu and for the itself it would not require the opposition that is a good place to labourmps, itself it would not require the labour mps, that would just need a have the Prime Minister. We hear majority and conservative and there labour are quite split on this and some of the people around jeremy is in majority and conservative and there is in government, and they could corbyn in the Leadership Circle also pass a one line bill overriding actually would be up for an election the fixed term parliaments act which could only require a simple majority. Rob is asking, what sooner rather than later, but a lot of labour mps sooner rather than later, but a lot of labourmps are sooner rather than later, but a lot of labour mps are really quite happens every december election, if fea rful of of labour mps are really quite fearful of the results and they there is one, if there is no could be like turkeys voting for dramatic change in the parties, then christmas. Yes, there is about 150 plus labour mps who told the party the Prime Minister has a smaller they dont want to have a general election because they think they number of mps, ari back at square would all lose their seats in that situation. But there are others one . We would Start Talking about around Jeremy Corbyn, some of the more die hard club and supporters who say that look at what we did in the future relationship and the Prime Minister would have to proceed 2017, they were 23 points behind and on the basis that has the support of a majority of mps. If the deal is they came so close to winning that not passed and we end up with quite election. They think they can a similar situation to where we are perform that same miracle if you now, mps will have to find a way like it again in a campaign and once through that impasse. One way is you get into that momentum will be behind them and they can talk about other things apart from brexit, and that even if the Political Parties are the same, the number of mps there is this very much divide between people who want to remain in might differ. If there is no deal or the eu and want a cigarette a second referendum, we might find microsecond referendum, and people ourselves in a different situation who are much more devoted tojeremy where there is a majority for them corbyn, but both sides know it is a in parliament. And then we have a risk and we will find out when labour decides on monday but all the question about what happens if the mood music today suggest isnt going dup withdraw their support for the to be election and they wont vote for it so we will have yet more government. Got ten mps that have deadlock and delay and this could go on for weeks and months. Thank you been propping up about this, it is very much. That is the latest from westminster. If you take those challenges and remain passionate about what you want to do, youre more likely to succeed. Youve had yourfairshare of more likely to succeed. Youve had your fair share of challenges, growing up in the 1980s during the civil war. In somaliland. You must have seen and faced some very tough circumstances. I witnessed death and destruction caused by the war. I got stuck and after a month and a half of arduous journey involving traffic in the neighbouring country, i arrived in london. When you came to the uk, you are not afraid to get your hands dirty, picking fruit as a way of funding your education. Your hands dirty, picking fruit as a way of funding your educationm was my first summer in the uk and i did strawberry picking. It was one of the toughest jobs did strawberry picking. I would probe we have been able to eat anything because i could smell the strawberries. Like many other migrants, i had multiplejobs in addition to my full time education and the idea was to send the money back to family members at the money back to family members at the time. That was when i learned the time. That was when i learned the course of being an inconvenience involving sending money back home. That was your light bulb moment . Yes, i thought of a better way of thinking about sending many and subsequently ijoined thinking about sending many and subsequently i joined the thinking about sending many and subsequently ijoined the union but after that i started to put together this. A boost to mobile coverage in the countryside the uks four main mobile networks and the government are considering a £1billion plan to improve signal in rural areas. About one third of the uk currently has patchy or non existent mobile signal in so called not spots. The proposed deal which includes ee, o2, three and vodafone aims to get 4g coverage to 95 of the uk by 2025. Barclays backs down after a backlash the bank has reversed its decision to prevent customers withdrawing money from the post office network. There was fury when it said its debit card holders could deposit money but not withdraw cash from a post Office Counter from january. Cancelling that plan, the bank said it recognised the facility was valued by many communities in the uk. How are the markets doing today . As far as the main markets in britain and europe are concerned, the moves are somewhat cautious. Its a case of wait and see until we know whats happening with the proposed delay to brexit and the Prime Ministers attempt to get parliament to back a general election. The pound has been up and down today as a result of that. Its now flat against the euro, down slightly against the dollar. But not huge swings really. Across the atlantic strong results from intel helped to lift the s p 500 index in early trading, even as amazon. Com shares dropped following the companys forecast that sales and profits for the Christmas Season would be below expectations. Richard marwood, Senior Fund Manager at Royal London Asset management. Amazon its sales for the three months to end of sept were up but profits were down. Whats going on . Quite an interesting report from them. They showed very good growth again. What they did flag as they had to, particularly putting more co res had to, particularly putting more cores into being able to fulfil the one day prime delivery. I think it raises this question about we as consumers expecting to be able to get whatever we want as quickly as possible now and potentially not having to pay what a be an economic rate to get that the delivery. In this case, the cost has gone back into amazon. Wpp the worlds biggest ad agency some doubted whether it would be as successful after the departure of sir Martin Sorrell is this the start of a big revival for the agency . It is possibly a little bit too early to say. I think as well as the departure of Martin Sorrell, there has been some confusion about what is happening in the industry. With so much advertising now going online and some of the revenue is going to people like google rather than the traditional ad agencies, todays numbers were definitely a bit better than people thought but before we get too carried away and extrapolate too far, what they reported today was actually growth of the business by about half a percent which is better than peoples expectations of shrinkage by half a percent so its a very marginal improvement on peoples expectations. And glad to have an expert take from the city on the market section about when share prices do things we would not expect. Barclays is an interesting case and point today because it said a worsening Global Economic outlook may make it harder to meet profit targets in future. At the same time, they reported better than expected results. I suppose giving what weve seen this week already with rbs reporting disappointing results, i think when the report was in, the market was quite relieved. It was a short term result but the caution about the general backdrop and Business Confidence is not currently particularly high. When you have low Interest Rates, it is quite hard for banks to make money in a low Interest Rate environment. Thank you. The ftse100 is lower investors moving cautiously as they wait to see what happens with this vote on an early general election. But its still heading for its best Weekly Performance in nine months. The Pound Holding flat against the dollar but down against the euro. Among the shares the ftse100 getting some support from wpp, the worlds biggest ad firm, and barclays their stocks both up after they updated the markets on their performances in the Third Quarter of the year. Barclays advanced after reporting a Third Quarter profit that topped analysts expectations. Wpp jumped after it reported a return to Quarterly Sales growth for the first time in over a year, with a new strategy from boss mark read helping the company win more work. Thats all the business news. The duke and duchess of sussex have attended their firstjoint engagement since they spoke candidly in a Tv Documentary screened earlier this week. Prince harry made a surprise appearance at the event in Windsor Castle to discuss gender equality, which was being hosted by his wife. Meghan thanked attendees for allowing harry to crash the party. Mention surfing in the uk, and you might think of cornwall, or devon. But what about a field near bristol . Its been transformed into a revolutionary new inland surfing lake which can create up to a thousand waves of different shapes and sizes every hour. Itll open to the public early next month and our correspondent Claire Marshall has been to take a look. First light and surfers are gathering, but this isnt hawaii or newquay. This is a field just outside bristol. Because there are waves breaking in the middle of the countryside. Weve been given exclusive access to the final test phase of a revolutionary inland surf lake. Jayce robinson has driven here from st ives, the very tip of cornwall. He is the first pro surfer to be allowed in the water. Look at it. Its just so glassy, and it is like the maldivian ocean. All this was nick houndsfields idea. Wow high five. Its taken almost a decade. Weve got a real opportunity of getting people, particularly kids come off computers, get them outdoors, get them interacting with nature and improve Peoples Health and well being. Rocky surf music. The amazing thing about this is the technology. The base of this lake is shaped exactly like the reefs in the ocean that produce these kind of waves, the best in the world. This is green belt land. The lake needed to fit into the landscape. 16,000 trees are going to be planted around it. And it is truly open to everyone. Spike kane, a surfing legend, has worked with nick for years. So how does it make you feel to see it . Im, like, emotionally, im a mess right now. Just, like, look at this. Music continues. Im at a complete loss for words, about how incredible it is. Some say it will never match the open ocean, but now people have the choice where to paddle out. Claire marshall, bbc news, the wave, near bristol. The humble earthworm is the unsung hero of our ecosystem, playing a vital role in improving the soil. But, after carrying out the first major global survey, Scientists Say theyre concerned about the dangers that worms are facing from climate change. Our science correspondent helen briggs reports. Every gardener knows earthworms are good for the soil. But we dont know that much about them on a global scale. The first global atlas of earthworms has been compiled from 7000 sites in 56 countries. It is hoped the findings will help protect the many species of earthworm living on all continents except antarctica. Dr Helen Phillips is the lead researcher. So we had two Main Findings from our research. First, if you were to go and sample earthworms in the tropics, you would on average find lower numbers of species and abundance than if you were to sample earthworms in the temperate regions. This is actually not what we would expect if you were to only look at above ground organisms. Secondly, what we found was that it was climate that was driving these sorts of patterns in the earthworm communities, which of course has implications with our changing climate. Gardeners here at the chelsea physic garden are doing everything they can to encourage earthworms. They have even created this earthworm hotel. So tell me about this earthworm paradise . Earthworms are really important to gardeners. They help recycle organic matter backed into the soil. In this special memory, we have created a home for them to recycle some of our vegetable peelings on eggshells. Scientists say we need to be doing more to protect the animals living underground as well as those on the surface. This study will help us find out more about the threats that earthworms face. Helen briggs, bbc news.
