Sitting here to vote we are going to turn our attention on the deal this morning were at the heart of the debate to brexit in westminster this at the beginning of a crucial two morning. Vote in the commons tomorrow. Sainsburys bans fireworks. That is something labour leader the supermarket Jeremy Corbyn strongly disagrees with. Becomes the first major retailer he says this deal is worse to stop selling them ahead of bonfire night. Than the one presented by previous ill be finding out whats pm, theresa may. Behind the decision. Lets discuss this with the shadow chancellor, the premier league steps john mcdonnell, whojoins up its campaign against racism us now from his home. Thank you very much your time today. Following the scenes in bulgaria on monday night, why are you with an increased presence of their zero Tolerance Campaign against this deal . This because we wont weekend. Vote for anything plus another day of rainbow spotting that makes our constituents and our country poorer, and by any across the uk with sunshine assessment, thats what this deal will do. It will introduce checks and showers the forecast but fewer and barriers at our showers the forecast but fewer showers into the weekend have border, and will tempered things and so us for the also. It is worse than theresa details here mays deal because it on breakfast. Removes the commitments she was willing its friday the to offer 18th of october. About a level Playing Field to protect workers rights, Environmental Standards and consumer welcome to a special edition of breakfast. Rights. So its a very bad deal and were here in westminster, where the Prime Minister has around we just cant support it. 2a hours to sell his new brexit deal to mps. Would any agreement have been good borisjohnson returned from brussels enough for last night after sealing you . An agreement with eu leaders. Yes, you know, we his challenge now is to persuade at least 320 mps to back it were in negotiations with theresa mays in a crucial commons cabinet, and we also were discussing with the European Union, and we set vote tomorrow. Out a range of. 0ur political correspondent, a range of nick eardley has more. Proposals. A we have new customs a deal. Union, a many thought this simply close alignment with the single would not happen Boris Johnson market, which would have avoided all these threats we have two our hand in hand economy but also maintain a level Playing Field with workers rights with jean claude and consumer and Environmental Standards. Thats a we thought was a juncker, sensible deal that we could have put after signing off the brexit deal some to the british people and let them thought was impossible. This is a great deal decide, but theresa for our country, the uk. I also believe it is may couldnt deliver that and this deal is a very good deal for our actually worse, thats the worrying friends in the eu. And what it means is that we in problem. Let me put some centreman to you, the uk can come out of the eu and this is from one of your own as one united labourmps, and this is from one of your own labour mps, ronald campbell, quoting kingdom. It removes the from him when he spoke on controversial backstop newsnight yesterday. Yes im going to vote and replaces it with for the deal, the backstop has been new arrangements to avoid a hard dealt with, the big stumbling block border in ireland. With theresa may. I think this Boris Johnson still faces country is fed up with the way a massive battle to get that parliament has run deal through parliament. At the moment, he cannot be things. Its time assured of a majority who will back him in to get a deal the house of commons. And get it through. The next 2a hours will involve some i will have a chat with ronnie intense arm twisting, because the backstop wasnt a big trying to persuade his own mps, issue for us. Ronnie is a socialist labourmp and the independents and some issue for us. Ronnie is a socialist labour mp and the one thing he has stood up for all his life is the from the protection of workers rights. Opposition to this will undermine workers rights get on board. In our country and im the Prime Minister runs a minority government here and, really worried people need to fully officially, every single opposition understand the implications of this party is opposed to his plan. Crucially, the dup deal. Im sure when ronnie looks at who keep the tories in power it, as he did with theresa are not getting on board. In order to avoid trying to get mays york, he himself sat down and an extension he has been too eager by far to get thought, i cant vote for something a deal at any cost. That will reduce the working and the fact of the matter is had he held out and held his nerve standards. Hes fought for he would working people all his life, as have all labourmps, andi have gotten people all his life, as have all labour mps, and i dont believe he will support a deal that will better undermine basic trade Union Employment rights. Concessions. You say we will chat with ronnie which kept the integrity campbell, i imagine you will chat economically and constitutionally of with many labour mps today, the uk. Is there of the uk. A three line whip that will back not the pm will be back at his desk this supporting an agreement . Morning to try and change minds, to convince everyone the chief whip decides with the in his own party that the former leader on the within, but im sure tory mps and some labour mps on this one there will be a who want to see brexit delivered. Three line with and we expect labour mps if he can do that, maybe, just maybe his to look at the deal itself and when deal could get through Parliament Tomorrow. But it is going to they see the deal, we had the first be tight. So just how tight analysis of it and, as i say, its is it going to be . Worth and theresa mays and labour lets take a detailed mps worth and theresa mays and labour m ps voted look at the numbers. Worth and theresa mays and labour in total he has to get 320 mps voted against theresa mays deal consistently and thats what theyll votes in the house of commons do on this occasion. If everyone turns up. I dont think there are currently 287 conservative mps. We can stand by and allow ideal to the first thing the Prime Minister ta ke we can stand by and allow ideal to take place that will make our will be looking to do is make sure country poorer. Just talking about the whip, what none of happens if any labour mp defies them rebel. The whip . Thank goodness thats up to the then, if the dup wont support him, chief whip and not me hell need the backing well, you have some influence over that im sure. Of former conservative mps who are currently independent. You know, you could there are 23 of them potentially be looking at the latest its thought most will support the deal. Numbers of 19 labour mps potentially supporting this agreement. Are you but thats still not quite enough prepared to lose them and expel them he also needs the backing of some from the labourmps and ex labour party . Independents. This still leaves the well, do you know overall vote very close. What, ive got were joined now by our political enough on my plate being the shadow correspondent, iain watson. Chancellor rather than being the chief whip, thank you i will leave good morning. This is it to them in all fairness to a numbers game individual mps, they will look at this deal and i think they will see now and through. We it is just not supported. You cant were told that be in it is just not supported. You cant beina it is just not supported. You cant be in a situation where borisjohnson was coming back from you vote for brussels to westminster is going something and then in 12 18 to undertake a Charm Offensive but i months youre finding your constituents are think it will have to be more losing theirjobs, their wages or offensive than charming and their working conditions are some cases because in trying to corral being undermined and your constituents, some of the people in his own for example, are having their side consumer standards and environmental to back this deal, these are standards undermined. No one can long standing brexiteers and we know support that. That Northern Ireland you on side and they may be tempted to vote what is the alternative, no deal . That would be no good for anyone, against. They will need to be with would it . Being chucked out of the party they do so. Other side of the the alternative is equation as a sensible deal you are pointing out negotiated, thats what we did is that he has with to try labour and from what theresa mays cabinet and the European Union previously and then i hear, you put that to the people and let the number of labour mps willing the people decide. Its three years to support him is relatively now, let the people have a sensible leave option but also the option to low. 27 remain as well and let the people and ten, because they are worried have the final say. I think thats about a lack what the majority of people now of right so want. At the moment weve heard those issues will have to be tight on from eu leaders saying that, look, this is social media there is a catalysing the best deal there is on cioss social media there is a catalysing cross that you have ten mps on the table. What makes you think you can one side and you could end up negotiate anything different . They potentially with a dead seem satisfied with this deal with heat tomorrow be hugely but i very little room, if any, to believe he has fallen short of getting a deal manoeuvre. And he will have a lot its interesting because when we of and we are we re its interesting because when we were in talks with theresa may, facing the most dramatic day obviously we were then i have seen yet tomorrow because the stakes sounding out Michel Barnier and others about the are high and the numbers range of options that were available are close. We will be watching closely. Thank for us and we put forward, you very much. For example, a new Customs Union, close in other news alignment with the turkey has agreed to a 5 day ceasefire in Northern Syria to let kurdish led forces withdraw. Single market, dynamic alignment in the future with the pause in hostilities was announced regard to employment and consumer and environmental rights, after talks in ankara between the turkish president and the us Vice President , and we mike pence. Rich preston we re and environmental rights, and we were receiving positive noises that has more. That could be the form of the deal and those pillars could be the basis for days, turkey has been bombarding ofa and those pillars could be the basis of a sensible deal again that we kurdish posts in Northern Syria could put back to the people for the with heavy artillery people to decide. So there was that opportunity and i think there still fire. Now, some respite from is. But we cant support something the bombing and gunfire. That will undermine the Living Standards of our people. No sensible americas Vice President and secretary of state arrived mp would allow that in ankara to happen. For talks. I think whats become clear looking at Boris Johnsons after five hours of discussion i think whats become clear looking at borisjohnsons statement i think whats become clear looking with the turkish president , at Boris Johnsons statement about the deal is there is clearly the deal electioneering happening. An electioneering happening. An Election Campaign is under way. If was agreed. And when we get to that point of a general election, theres been a lot turkey will pause its military of noise about whetherJeremy Corbyn operations for 120 hours to give is the man capable of leading kurdish fighters the labour party to victory in a general a chance to election. At what point will you be retreat. Willing to accept he isnt the man turkey wants the fighters to push to do away from the borders where it considers them a threat. That . But the ef, made up mainly of to do that . Of because hes the man to do that of kurdish fighters, hes exactly the sort of leader that considers we wa nt hes exactly the sort of leader that we want of course hes the man to do that we need a leader this who is not its basically selling our country out, because thats what borisjohnson territory. Has just because thats what borisjohnson hasjust done. Hes because thats what borisjohnson it says it will not has just done. Hes gone to europe and sold us out, our living leave. 300,000 people, mostly civilians, standards, jobs and, yes, have been displaced from the area and there are fears that this pause he has in hostilities will do nothing sold out the to help that. President trumps withdrawal of us dup by the troops was condemned across the american political looks of it spectrum with many of them accusing him of abandoning us allies too we want a Prime Minister who but mr trump has praised the amazing will bring the country back outcome saying it will together, who is honest, straight save millions of lives. Talking and will build consensus in but there are doubts over our country. The country is divided whether the agreement drawn up and thats why you need a new type in ankara over the last 2a of leader likejeremyjeremy hours is workable at all. Neither the kurdish leadership and thats why you need a new type of leader like jeremyJeremy Corbyn who can bring the country together, nor other key groups, hes the leader we want and such as syrian or russian governments, when we were involved get the opportunity for a general in the talks. Police have arrested more than 700 election i believe people will elect people during a week long him. Those momentous scenes yesterday in into saturday, looking like a drier day, always the risk of a shower brussels, what happens next but largely dry, sunshine here . So, the chancellor has and temperature at 15 celsius, still quite breezy. To bring back similar conditions for sunday largely dry but again the risk the deal to parliament and get a of a majority of mps to approve it. As you just heard, the shower. Im back with the latest from the bbc london newsroom numbers are in half an hour. Really, really challenging so he plenty more on our website will be holding a meaningful vote on at the usual address. Saturday. If he passes the bye for now. Meaningful vote, its not the end of the process. Next he has to bring in the process. Next he has to bring in the Withdrawal Agreement bill, the Domestic Legislation needed to hello this is breakfast implement the deal, and he has to with Charlie Stayt and naga get mps to continue to munchetty. Back the heres a summary of implementation of the deal and we know that bill is going to be long, this mornings complex and controversial. Its not main stories from the final step but if he doesnt bbc news. Get the final step but if he doesnt get the bill in place by the 30,000 were here in westminster, where the Prime Minister has around 2a hours to sell his of 0ctober, the bill in place by the 30,000 of new brexit deal to mps. October, the uk Boris Johnson returned from brussels last night could still leave after sealing an agreement with eu without a deal, thats a really important part of all this. How does that play in terms of time . Leaders. Sist how does that play in terms of time . 31st of october. His challenge now is to persuade what is the time period . The at least 320 mps to back it government controls the agenda in in a crucial commons vote the commons, they can rush legislation through very quickly and tomorrow. He says he is very confident we saw backbenchers do that in but his opponents have insisted september and they passed the he cant be sure of victory. So called benn act. That will lets speak to the foreign secretary, be dominic raab, whojoins us now highly controversial because the bill will be long and it will give from our westminster ministers extensive powers to make financial papers no payments to the studio. Good uk and will include whatever powers from our westminster studio. Morning to you and i for good morning to you and thank you for your time this morning to ministers need to we implement whatever have been here before where we have had a deal with the eu but replaces the Northern Ireland the commons away. What is protocol, the backstop, so it different this will be controversial and there wont be time . It is a win, much time and it will still need to win, win deal. It go to the house of lords and the is good for the uk, letting us take government doesnt control the agenda there in the same way so they back control of our laws border need peers to play ball and get the and legislation through quickly. Money. We have removed joe, theres a conjuring process in this undemocratic backstop and transition toa terms of the timing, isnt there . Undemocratic backstop and transition to a best in class who decides what and trade deal and it when . Thats right, and in a sense this is isa to a best in class trade deal and it is a cracking dealfor Northern Ireland because not only are they a series of hurdles that boris being out of johnson has to pass in order to get uk customs territory to the finishing line. But they have frictionless access to we assume on the 315t of october, but perhaps the Single Market and we have this later. As maddy talked about, the consent mechanism which means that first of those hurdles are a series of hurdles in parliament but every four years, on a majority in after that he ultimately has to convince the Northern Ireland assembly, they will make sure they consent the public and thats really what this is all about. He has to to being bound by the agri food and convince them that this deal is industrialised goods that allow that right for britain and good to happen. And i think it for is a good britain, and crucially that this dealfor the eu. We have deal represents a fair reflection an of opportunity now to get the exit the referendum result. In other words, that its a real delivered, faithful to the referendum, and move on. As a brexit. Yes, he is overcome the early hurdles he government we can then lift the has to do with the European Union, clouds of brexit as a country and talk about the other things that i but its unclear whether he will clear the hurdles with believe your viewers want to see us parliament. Address such as more police on the if he gets through that he streets and levelling up will actually be in a strong position when it comes to Public Opinion education funding, expanding broadband for the because if he gets the deal through economy. This is an opportunity to parliament, he will almost certainly ta ke economy. This is an opportunity to take britain forward. The reality receive a boost at least of in the the vote in the commons remains. To short term from that, and if he doesnt, then only around one in describe it as a win, seven leave voters is win, win. The likely to dup would describe it blame him for the as lose, lose, situation anyway. Lose. Have you given in other cases they will blame up on other people, so it will probably be ok persuading the dup to vote with the but thats only in the short term. Government . We have not given up the key question is, longer term on will all this discussion be a our dup friends. Our responsibility is to set out the deal talking point or will it and argue for be a its merits and benefit in turning point in relation his electoral to Northern Ireland, as fortunes . Electoral fortunes are what i want i said, it to pick up on because when you look is to make sure, and this was at what he released on twitter in a key his speech about this, he brought aspect for us and something the eu compromised on and i wish in education and Police Spending stop he is to recognise that, that northern obviously electioneering. Ireland stay within the uk customs territory but at the same time we its been an Election Campaign since he took over but its not official sought to yet. Hes talked secure full about. Hes been frictionless access to there will be no emphasising again and again how it isa emphasising again and again how it is a choice between his deal or a infrastructure of the border and we Jeremy Corbyn government. He secured, it was not there last time, will be a consent mechanism, notjust wanting to place everything in those terms in the one but every four years to make sure that the parties of northern hope that there ireland, by a majority, agreed to will be stay in the arrangement with conservative voters or potential annette. I want to ask conservative voters or potential conservative voters or potential conservative voters nationwide who will be willing to hold their you about the nose vote tomorrow and the extent relu cta ntly, will be willing to hold their nose reluctantly, even bitterly, and vote for him despite their views on brexit in order to avoid a jeremy to which you are trying to persuade the corbyn government. Labour mps who may be minded on maddie, bring us back to today and this occasion that they can vote with the tomorrow and that vote, government. I presume you are making because no matter how bold. Were going to effo rts government. I presume you are making efforts to approach speak to dominic those people . Raab later this what figures do you have as it morning. They will be stands this morning . Im emboldened not sure i by not just the morning. They will be emboldened by notjust the pictures weve seen out of brussels, the camaraderie and will divulge figures the sense that something has been on bbc achieved and is finalised. Its brea kfast will divulge figures on bbc breakfast but of course we need to not final until the vote tomorrow and get the house of commons to come were going to say a lot this together from all parties and, morning, the vote is indeed, the country to come very, very together. So we make the argument, tight. Its only right particularly to the mps who we talk about are what if, what if the vote doesnt go worried about no deal that this is an opportunity to get a deal and a with Boris Johnson . Thats exactly right and with Boris Johnson . Thats exactly deal that is faithful to the rightandi with Boris Johnson . Thats exactly right and i think no one can predict what will happen. It is likely to be referendum. I think there will be a few votes either way. People listening to that and believe this is a moment to focus if the deal is rejected, the government has also minds. We have a good deal, it dealt with the tabled a motion lion share of the concerns that that says mps people like i had about the last would deal and it is an for us to be in favour of a no deal brexit, move forward. And for those who are thats in line with the benn act, worried about the risk of no deal, the legislation passed in september trying to stop a no deal so its this should focus minds because we likely they would move that motion to try to get a majority in the have a chance now to get house of commons or leaving without brexit done a deal. We know theres not a with a deal and allow the country to majority in the house of commons to move forward. A do that but they will try little confused to do what they can under the benn act to not about why you are still talking asked for an extension. If mps about why you are still talking about no deal. That cannot happen reject a deal and reject no deal, because your government has said they will comply the government will be obliged to seek an with ben act. Exception youre not too confused. I think you know the Prime Minister has been extension of quite clear that we leave at the end of october. We also heard article 50 but its up to the eu 27 from to agree that and they might propose brussels people saying, as a matter an alternative date. To be clear, of fa ct, that will play out on saturday and brussels people saying, as a matter of fact, that there will not be any more delays nor we will know by the end of the day whether that letter will extensions. It is decision time is of be sent . Thats right, and the government has the point i will said, and its worth mentioning this, they have told the scottish gently make is for those who have courts they will send that letter so been arguing above all to avoid a no i think that will happen. The question is whats happening with deal scenario this should mind with the extension, what annette because the best will happen with way to do the extension, what will happen with that, and to give effect to the the extension . Weve now referendum, is to support this got a deal deal. Donald tusk has not said there with the eu, its not about trying cannot be a to negotiate Something Different and johnson is happy with what hes further extension. It negotiated so it comes back to whether we are using that time to seems that borisjohnson, have a general election. In that the situation, the government needs the position hes taking is that somehow support of Opposition Mps to take us the eu has said they cannot be an into an election. We extension. But that is not saw in september he tried twice to get true. |j am listening to whatjean claude a juncker said in the majority in the house of commons, a two thirds majority, in favour of an wider mood music early election and its likely he coming from others to will try that again and its worth we often find adding on monday and this, there are nuanced tuesday we are having votes on the queens speech, or different views depending on who you speak to. The Government Programme for the parliamentary session and theres that there is a sense, a questions about what happens if he cant pass that. Theres lots going palpable sense of the channel in on. What we havent spoken about is the uk now the potential for a second referendum, of haggling. There the snp is three years is tabling of been spent going over it an amendment all prime for minister. Even his a second referendum, whats the critics would have to concede to feedback on that . Theres a suggestion the second change that allow referendum would be very close if it took place, but theres no the shot and the best shot of particular decision on what question would be asked in getting to the house of that referendum. Commons our would you simply repeat the job now is to point out why this is question . That probably wouldnt make much sense. Would you offer a good dealfor the uk borisjohnsons deal and the terms and that i describe, guarantee make much sense. Would you offer Boris Johnsons deal and remain make much sense. Would you offer borisjohnsons deal and remain as make much sense. Would you offer Boris Johnsons deal and remain as a simple one to option, or offer boris trade, allowing a continue security johnsons deal, no deal cooperation is a country and and simple one to option, or offer Boris Johnsons deal, no dealand remain as an option and if that all areas of operation we can still do without being bound happens what happens if remain gets 40 and the other two options by the legislative rules from the eu. Get 30 , is good news for the uk city and remain the winner in that situation . That makes things very difficult and those who wish to criticise or more confusing. It will all come out on to this deal will be holding saturday. That is the step beyond. Thank britain that clear with a good list certainly you so much and good to see you this not clear with a good list certainly not clear that there will be any changes morning. Now i know they it is 6 26am. We have said that only are coming to you through the deal and the leadership from westminster all morning trying of the Prime Minister has shown we to make sense of what happened after can get done and the country moving borisjohnson forward. I think that is a positive to make sense of what happened after Boris Johnson reached to make sense of what happened after borisjohnson reached a deal with eu thing for the country. Leaders and now hes getting ready to put it to a special session of many People Parliament on saturday. Time now to get the news, are not vested in brexit but they travel and weather where think now is the time to get it done you are. And move forward. Many people good morning from watching the programme this morning will justifiably ask bbc london. The vote does london conservative mp mark field has announced he wont stand at the next not doorway tomorrow, this is not general just conjecture, it is a real election, blaming what he says possibility. What will Boris Johnson is a deeply divisive s government do . Political atmosphere. Mr field, whos held the seat of the cities possibility. What will Boris Johnson s government do . We are focused on of london and westminster the deal on saturday and all our since 2001, said tensions over effo rts brexit would define domestic the deal on saturday and all our efforts are going into that. The politics for Prime Minister has been clear, we years to are leaving at the end of october and the right way to do that with a come. The tech industrys warning deal and turn of a loss of talent from the capital after brexit. An so far, the uk based opportunity and we are absolutely focused on getting the deal through the house of start ups, they have the eu market, which is commons on saturday. Fantastic. Now it might be that they and the approach to the tory rebels are forced to look who have lost the width, how will outside of the you approach them . Those uk, like today, looking at Continental Europe or the us and decisions are for the chief wit but it is now this is good, this increases time to come together. That is true the on all sides of the party. And competitiveness, so i see some it is positive aspects in this one as true on all sides of the house of well. More than 200 bars and commons. Though, as he he hasnt been lets assume he can get the biggest fan of the venue, all of his own party plus all of the independents calling it a hellhole in the past. To support the conservatives, now lets return plus labour mps to westminster who previously with naga voted for mays and charlie. Thank you very much. Deal if the Prime Minister we are trying way to get all of them and the dup, hed just to figure out what is going to about have a majority but the dup happen because in 2a hours the prime has said they wont back it, so on these minister will prepare to step into assumptions, the pm still the house of commons for a vote on doesnt have the numbers. This brexit deal. He needs at he simply has to convince more labour or other least Opposition Mps to vote 320 mp5 to this brexit deal. He needs at least 320 mps to sit at him. For it. One of those he is hoping to convince is so, lots more from westminster for this lib you this morning. Dem. Chuka umunna, whojoins us going to concentrate for a moment on another now. He talks about story weve been talking about for the last two or getting brexit done three days. And this own research ben was covering this, lots of users who have mobile phones and use says that this proposals would lead to a the operator three who are having problems with services and trying to 6. 7 drop in gdp and a drop in real wages. Figure out when they are going to in context, that head to the economy get their service back and we tried that we saw in the gsc and to get in touch with three the reason i do not call it a deal is yesterday. Victoria looking at this, lots of people back because what it is is a Withdrawal Agreement. It does not include a online but explanation as to why it happened in trade deal with the eu that will ta ke trade deal with the eu that will the first place . We havent had an take negotiate. All we have here out and out is a gangplank into thin explanation as to why its happening air, that is and we also know some people are still experiencing problems. The way one former conservative minister described it, because it three says the majority ta kes minister described it, because it takes us into the implementation of its customers do now have full period which goes until the end of service, however, it is aware of a small number who still cant next year and we have no idea of what will happen. Would anything make calls, send texts or access their data. Have been good enough . The advice is to turn your phone off and then turn it back on. You have made but given that it is more than 2a it clear that you campaign to remain. At the beginning of the hours after the problem was first discovered, could parliament i was arguing for us to remain in the Customs Union and Single Market but the you be government all that out but we have been quite due clear as liberal democrats that we wa nt to some clear as liberal democrats that we want to stop it altogether. Best deal we have is as compensation . Martyn james is a consumer expert an eu member to at resolver and can talk to us say we are seeing reports are about our rights potentially some labour mp in these situations. Supporting Boris Johnsons proposals, i am staggered. A very strong sock and this is a suit game historic trail of the labour this morning. Nice to you a bit too interest and that is not what i say, much for this time in the morning thatis interest and that is not what i say, that is what the tuc general why not, push the boat out lots of secretary says. She says people have been getting on contact this sells on twitter and say dont be workers rights down the river ridiculous, you are without your and phone for a few hours and surely you labourmp, iused dont need compensation but this is workers rights down the river and labour mp, i used to be one, admittedly are not planning to stand real because people have suffered loss in the last again at the next election. 2a hours. But what i would say to them you really absolutely, as you rightly say, people rushed onto twitter and want your last act in social media to talk about the politics to be various ways people have been sponsoring one of the most deprived of their phone, almost right wing conservative nationalist projects this country has ever finding itamusing, but deprived of their phone, almost finding it amusing, but the fact of seen . The matter is we are which would rip us out of the Single Market and give us all the sections strongly encouraged to go to a Digital Economy so lots of banking is online on the environment and lots of people pay for and employment, things consumer, why would you do that . I with their mobile phones and people. Ive heard lots of reports do not understand it and i really would invite them to think that the from people yesterday from people about what they are going to who said they couldnt buy do tomorrow. Honey labour mps you tickets because they use contactless on know their phone but a more serious of thinking of that . Only problem thats affected lots is one has been cited so far. I would be the new 2 stage authentication process surprised if any more actually when you pay for some goods and a joined him. But, obviously, text is sent to your mobile. This is that something that people will be meant text is sent to your mobile. That mea nt lots text is sent to your mobile. That m ea nt lots of text is sent to your mobile. That meant lots of people werent able to reflecting on. It is a big pay for essential things, and in one moment for our country and dont think for case it resulted in a labia i was speaking to was left stranding a one minute i say to your viewers who board saying theres are one minute i say to your viewers who a re royally one minute i say to your viewers who are royally that up with this brexit a serious chaos and mass, dont think consequence, especially if you cant access consequence, especially if you cant that if a ccess your Boris Johnsons chaos and mass, dont think that if borisjohnsons proposals chaos and mass, dont think that if Boris Johnsons proposals go chaos and mass, dont think that if consequence, especially if you cant borisjohnsons proposals go through on saturday that that will be the access your funds a lady end of the matter. It will not. Will i was be is more negotiation and we will speaking to was left stranded be is more negotiation and we will abroad. This has been a serious be on this effect again at the problem, especially if you ask around it without help. End of next year because they will not bea of next year because they will not be a trade agreement. There is if you are one of the more than 12 million with the three network, not enough time to negotiate that with the eu by the end of next year. For what kind of compensation could you get . Some people, the argument you make theres a couple of different their make sense. People are fed up variations, and i should say with the process of phrase you to mentioned was again begin people dont get too excited, this to know isnt encouraging compensation where did it now, tomorrow, if the culture but when a similar problem vote goes against borisjohnson, happened last year with 02, they who compensated 25 million of their knows what will happen, is what some users from what i understand, but people are saying. That really is they gave them a credit for a two boat into who knows days worth of loss to what. Is there accommodate what they lost on their any evidence that the eu is ever going to offer a deal that is plans. There is no right to compensation and different from the one that we have 0fcom, the regulator, says you might now . They have offered a be entitled if theres been a deal. If significant outage but if you had a you want to use direct impact through things youve that terminology, lost as a consequence, not being they have offered for us to stay able to buy something or having to in they have offered for us to stay in pay extra money, then you can the Single Marketing certainly complain about that. Keep your receipts, take photos and get market. We that proof together have safeguarded the and make the situation to prevent us complaints. Some people might from crashing out and the Prime Minister, have missed flight if there is no agreement that has status updates, that kind of thing, been finalised and agreed to by so the advice is to collect as much Parliament Tomorrow, will have to evidence as you can . Absolutely. Its worth bearing in stand sting and extension and mind that in this day and age, you donald might not think about things that tusk, the president of are important. Lots and lots of the european council, is clear that that has not people have easy tickets been ruled out. Lots of where they are automatically saved onto your parliamentarians have good relations with other government phone and they werent able to access their tickets because of in the eu. Wi fi problems. Do simple but that does not get us anywhere. All things like take screenshots and make sure that does not get us anywhere. All that gets us the codes are visible and is until christmas. Make sure that if you are making a complaint, ultimately referred back to the people. What we you have proof of what you had to pay out. Have had. Do so very quickly, if you are and happy with what you ask three offers, can about Boris Johnsons agreement, this agreement . Do you say remain . You go further . How do you assess you can, and there are two Ombudsman Services, both are free and theres it . Whatever you Ombudsman Services or communications that deal with three have as your leave option has to be defined. You could complaints. Thanks, martyn, and thanks for either put your help. Remain, which is absolutely key. The this is the statement from three, they say theyre liberal democrats will fight to aware some remain in the eu, unlike customers are experiencing issues and their engineers are trying to the labour fix this to help with party who has refused the process. To commit. Now to reiterate, customers should turn it could be the Prime Minister s their phone on and Withdrawal Agreement all this off again and predecessors Withdrawal Agreement. The problem we have had all along is their phone on and off again and their plain mode on and off again, that a fantasy brexit was presented which should resolve to people. You can have all of the the issue. Benefits of eu membership without airplay. They expect it to paying the subscription fee that be solved later today and they are sorry for mcphee or abiding by the rules and thatis the inconvenience caused. If we get mcphee or abiding by the rules and that is what borisjohnson initially told the british people in 2016 and any updates i will let it has turned out to be a fantasy you know. And that is why we are in lets return to westminster and speak to naga and charlie, who have the mess we are now because in Parliament Quite a lot of news trying to square the circle of for us today. All we certainly do, the method fantasy, at least i suppose now with the withdrawal victoria, im agreement know what is trying to think of peoples faces and is not Withdrawal Agreement on a paper with who are three customers remain, refer back to the people. The only way to clear up the who are being told to turn on mess. Just one more thing, the referendum and off their phone s topic can you imagine . Went in favour of it is the guys that get paid the king the eu. Big tomorrow, in every other commons bucks for that kind of advice, could vote in favour of this isnt it . Deal. Bucks for that kind of advice, isnt it . There phones. Can at what point do you accept that you |magine . This is where we are at . |j Scientists Say theyve at what point do you accept that this is where we are at . I think it developed a technique to use would be profoundly under the satellites to spot big groups of whales that have washed up credit to younger is out of the eu on the on the shore. Theyve been using satellites basis of this agreement because it to investigate the largest ever recorded stranding, involving 3a0 what people in whales which washed up on the coast of chile four years ago. 2016. Forget over 0ur science correspondent, rebecca morelle, has more. It was a stranding on a huge scale. 2 million young people who have had a last year in australia, on this so far at all more than 150 whales washed up but by the time rescuers got their, most were dead. Who could not now, though, theres a new faster vote in 2016 who can now way to track strandings, vote overwhelmingly, they oppose us from space, using powerful satellites scientists can scan leaving the eu at all and this would be imposing something on which is thousands of kilometres of coast, that they thoroughly reject. I think zooming in on the animals until the body that they thoroughly reject. I think that would be fundamentally of a beached undemocratic. If that happens, whale is those in parliament who are representing the young people and the rest of the revealed. Country, if it happens and they pass satellites can enable us to take pictures and see whale strandings it, you will not accept it . You will much more rapidly than people have keep fighting . I will keep fighting capacity to do on the ground in remote areas, and theyll give us to the im not about to pretend that that extra opportunity ido to the im not about to pretend that i do not think that remaining in the to react eu is by far the best deal on the table. And i will continue to fight quickly. For that because it is the best the hope is the technology could reveal how many whales thing for my constituents in the best thing for my country. And the are stranding and where government s own Economic Research they are stranding, which could help backs that up. Thank you very us to understand whats causing these deadly events. With so many pressures much for joining in the oceans, scientists backs that up. Thank you very much forjoining us are watching whale numbers carefully, using satellites this morning. To monitor them will be key. Rebecca we are at westminster through the morrell, morning. Mat, it has been raining a bbc lot in london overnight, dont know news. About the rest of the uk, you can tell us now. Absolutely stunning pictures, great good morning, thundery downpours earlier and more to come today animals. Anything that can be done across the uk. Great to stop those strandings will day if you like be warmly welcomed. To spot your rainbows, plenty you can see were coming around, sunshine in between the showers and a few areas should stay from this largely dry. The team behind it say the ambition start will linger is to make the square mile but a bit of brightness on a mindful the horizon, fewer showers, and drinking place. Turning lets take a look at chillier. Into saturday, the travel situation now. And the 0n the tube, thejubilee line has no most persistent rain across parts of service between neasden and waterloo after engineering south and south east scotland into faults were found on some trains. Feeling cooler, but at diverts. Now the weather with kate kinsella. Least, naga and charlie, into next good morning. Weve had some heavy showers week most will start overnight, rumbles of thunder, flashes of lightning the week and theyre likely to continue reasonably dry. Back through the course of today as well. To you both. Heavy showers, sunny spells between them, however. Though, like i said, thanks very much, we have a special you might get a rumble of thunder and see some flashes of Lightning Programme this morning on bbc on the heaviest showers, brea kfast programme this morning on bbc breakfast and westminster ahead of the vote but youll get clearer spells, so sunshine bursting through. The showers continue through the afternoon, tomorrow. Blowing through on quite a brisk south westerly wind and quite a saturday morning sitting in the commons, very unusual. A gusty wind actually, we will be a0 a5mph gusts potentially speaking to key and temperatures today between 12 and 1a celsius, so feeling a little bit cooler. Players this morning 0vernight, we still have the risk to get a sense of what they are of some showers, but theyll become thinking. John mcdonnell from the labour party will be with us and fewer and further between. If you get one, though, foreign secretary dominic raab will could be quite heavy. Will be with us later as well. Clearer spells lets think about other things in life. Bonfire night is in a couple towards dawn, of weeks, perhaps you are buying fireworks for a bonfire and the wind that little bit lighter. Party . Sainsburys is not the place you are minimum temperature between 8 10 degrees celsius. Into saturday, looking like a drier going to buy them at. Why . Victoria can tell day, always the risk of a shower but largely dry, sunshine and temperature at 15 celsius, still quite breezy. Us. Similar conditions for sunday its that time of the year, largely dry but again the risk with bonfire night, diwali and then of a new year all coming up. Most shops start selling fireworks shower. Im back with the latest from now until the end of december from the bbc london newsroom but sainsburys wont be one of them. In half an the supermarket has hour. Plenty more on our website confirmed at the usual address. They are banning the bye for now. Sale in all of their2,500 stores after ca m pa ig ns from those who consider them a public nuisance and a threat to safety. Retail analyst and fellow dog owner Catherine Shuttleworth is with me now. Good morning to you. Good morning. How are you . Im good, thank you. Why have they decided to do this, is it one Campaign Group who have in dominating . Sainsburys have said they overview all the products they sell through the year constantly, and this year they decided they wont sell fireworks anymore as part of the review and they think that is good for people who own dogs and for the elderly who are bothered about fireworks. 0ne elderly who are bothered about fireworks. One of the other reasons is selling fireworks is a quite good morning, welcome complex process for a to breakfast with Naga Munchetty supermarket. And Charlie Stayt in westminster when you buy your fireworks, they where Boris Johnson faces arent on a shelf in the store, they the political fight of arent on a shelf in the store, they are ina arent on a shelf in the store, they are in a glass cabinet his life. He has around 2a hours to persuade that is locked and a member of mps to back his new brexit deal staff has to agreed with eu leaders, unlock the cabinet every time you wa nt to unlock the cabinet every time you want to buy fireworks and they have and it to age gate you, checking your over 16, because its illegal wont be otherwise. That is a really expensive way of easy. Doing retail in as i have never tired of telling supermarkets. The you, and i repeat again, other reason that sainsburys have i dont think there is any case for delay. Looked at this and thought, maybe we should get on and get it done. Its not worth us let the people have a sensible leave selling them there are strict rules and regulations about the sale but they option and let the people have a final make good margins on them, dont say. They . Is this a mps will hold a rare saturday sensible business decision . Sitting here to vote on the deal. It isa decision . It is a good margin but the cost of this morning, were at the heart selling them is high, and when they of the debate at the beginning buy the fireworks from the suppliers of a crucial two days they cant sell them back on in british politics. Mps will hold a sale or return, and theres a limited period rare saturday when you can keep them sitting here to vote on and they are dangerous to keep in the back of the deal more than 700 people are arrested shops, which are busy places. They across the uk in a week long will have balanced those two things operation to tackle so called county off. Now were changing the way we lines drugs gangs. Around fireworks night. We still do them but we go to more organised sainsburys bans and finite by the council or a local fireworks. Charity, and the the supermarket becomes the first major retailer to stop selling them, bigger event is ahead of bonfire night. Ill be finding halloween for retailers and they will be getting more out whats space in the behind the shops towards pumpkins, decision. Glowsticks the premier league steps and ones and so on, up its campaign against racism, following the scenes in bulgaria which they are on monday night, with an increased still selling in sainsburys this presence of their zero tolerance year, than traditional Firework Campaign this weekend. Items. Another day to spot rainbows, plenty its interesting, isnt it . More of sunshine and showers, than 300,000 people last year signed a petition saying they wanted a but what of the weekend . Full ban to the public on the sale of forecast here on fireworks and they wanted them to be breakfast. Restricted to specific events, as you say. I mean, do we think we welcome to a special edition of breakfast. Are going to see this were here in westminster, where the Prime Minister has around with other 2a hours to sell his new retailers, the likes of tesco, brexit deal to mps. A big player, are still selling them . And they are adamant they will borisjohnson returned from brussels continue selling them. Bonfire night is all about blowing up Parliament Last night after sealing and here we are that agreement with with charlie and eu leaders. Naga standing outside it his challenge now is to persuade arouses at least 320 mps to back it strong emotions and its a bit strange, isnt it, that we still do that and theres environmental in a crucial commons vote tomorrow. Issues around sticking things of course, we need to get in the airand then the house of commons to come issues around sticking things in the air and then blowing down into gardens and the rocket stakes and together from all parties and indeed the like. Theres different consumer groups who have the country to come together. So, we are making the still got different argument, particularly to those mps i opinions, especially older people, and they can become a real nuisance think who are worried about no deal, because it used to be that you would this is the opportunity to get do it on the fifth of november, on a deal and it is a deal bonfire night, now it stretches for that is faithful to the referendum. I think there will be a lot three weeks and it feels like youre of people listening to that. Living in a zone of fireworks and this is a moment to focus minds. Thats difficult for many people, we have got ourselves a good deal. Particularly pet owners. Many people it dealt with the lions share are disturbed by it. Its of the concerns certainly that people like me had about the last one of deal and it is an opportunity those traditions we are starting to for us to move forward. Rethink in the uk. For those i think who are worried and not just pet about the risk of no deal, this ought to really focus minds rethink in the uk. And notjust pet owners, you can because we have got a chance now imagine veterans and those struggling with ptsd, for example, to get brexit done with a deal there is a big group of people who and allow the country to move forward. Really struggle with this period all the Prime Minister says the way through to new he is very confident, year. Absolutely, and its about the way but his opponants have it continues and carries on insisted so that he cant be sure will have been in sainsburys mind as well, and thats what people will of victory. The alternative is a sensible deal think about, they negotiated, that is what we were no responsibility about fireworks and their neighbours doing with theresa mays and their community. We will leave it there, catherine cabinet and the eu previously, and put it to the shuttleworth, thanks very much. What do you make of that . Do people and let the people decide. Three years on now, let you agree with sainsburys decision . The people have a sensible leave option and should also the option to remain as well there be a ban all year on the sale and let the people have the of fireworks to the public . Let me know what you think, and also if you final say. That is what the majority of area people now want. Know what you think, and also if you are a pet owner, how does it impact were joined now by our political you and your pet . 20 coming correspondent, iain watson. Up later just looking on in business. At dominic plenty. Now lets return to westminster raabs with naga and charlie. Words, you can see the line you have got a dog, how does the government is taking, a time he cope . I have two, one shakes and to focus minds. No matter what trembles and the other one doesnt you mind. It is horrible for the one thought before, i think now. Do you think it is how they are going to that hates it, it try to persuade a small is horrible. |j have got two cats, one that isnt number of extra mps . I think that is bothered and the other right. They are trying to accentuate is petrified. Without wanting to sound too miserable about it, i the positive, we have this deal, this has been going on for three dont small displays where someone says i have years, now is the time, an opportunity to bought a rocket. That alarms get this done. Lots of people still me. Big, organised displays in sceptical about whether it is time to get it done because you places like this, i like those but the rest have to of it, i always find it a embark on trade negotiations and what is it you are actually bit worrying. Doing . The trouble for Boris Johnson, are used to have a big fireworks what is it you are actually doing . The trouble for borisjohnson, some people on his own side do not like party every year, get that going ain who was in the look of the charge . Not me then thats all right deal, long standing brexiteers. They are saying they are thats the safest way worried about effectively a border forward in the irish sea between were in westminster this morning, where borisjohnson Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Is hoping to sell his brexit deal although dominic raab and boris to mps, ahead of a crucial vote johnson are pushing one way, in the commons tomorrow. The dup but what are pushing the other, telling us they will be actively trying to do the get conservative mps to back them and vote against their own prime general minister. You can seejust vote against their own prime scientists have developed a minister. You can see just how high technique to use satellites to spot the stakes are. Meanwhile, john big groups of whales washing up on mcdonnell, as he the shore. They have used these satellites to find the largest ever said, leave areas, stranding, 3a0 wales off the coast desperate to get this done too. John of chile four years mcdonnell trying to tell them, it is ago. Science not good for the rights of workers, correspondent Rebecca Morrell has been looking into please stay in line. I spoke to one it. It was a stranding on senior politician a few a huge scale. Minutes ago and he said tomorrows going to be last year in australia, more than 150 whales washed up but by the time nip and tuck. Rescu e rs 150 whales washed up but by the time rescuers got their, most were thank you very dead. Now, though, theres a new faster much. We will leave it there for way to track strandings, from a moment. Space, a good phrase, nip and using powerful satellites tuck. How has the news been recived scientists can scan thousands of kilometres on the other side of the channel . Of lets speak to our brussels coast, zooming in on the animals reporter, adam fleming. There have been pictures of boris until the body of a beached whale is johnson surrounded by revealed. Satellites can enable us to eu leaders, very johnson surrounded by eu leaders, take pictures and see whale stranding is very warm johnson surrounded by eu leaders, very warm pictures, but the lack of much more rapidly than people have comments about whether an extension capacity to do on the would or would not be granted. Almost like they have said, we have ground in remote areas, and theyll give us that extra opportunity to react done our bit, see what quickly. Happens on saturday. Absolutely what they have the hope is the technology could been saying and what leaders sat on reveal how many whales are the red carpet when they arrived for stranding and where they are stranding, which the red carpet when they arrived for could help us to understand whats the summit yesterday, the big thing causing these deadly they are trying to do to help events. With so is to keep quiet about the many pressures in the oceans, scientists are watching whale idea of another numbers carefully, using satellites delay to brexit, an to monitor them will be extension of the key. Rebecca morrell, bbc news. Brexit process. They want to. They dont want to get involved extraordinary images. Stunning in british domestic political debate but they want to help boris animals hopefully that technology will help why are johnson make the case it is the steel we here at or no westminster . Well, theres a special deal which they think will sitting at Parliament Tomorrow and help to focus minds at westminster this borisjohnson is sitting at Parliament Tomorrow and Boris Johnson is hoping sitting at Parliament Tomorrow and borisjohnson is hoping to get his agreement made with deal. But you talk to people eu leaders privately, look, if something goes yesterday confirmed, convincing mps in parliament to vote with him. Wrong in westminster, the deal does not get through, more time is needed were looking ahead to the vote to have another bit tomorrow and the are absolutely of talking among crucial. Its worth saying at Political Parties in westminster or 7 10am because something massive will we will speak to happen like an election, laboursjohn mcdonnell and well be asking him an extension would be granted on the those questions aboutjust how side of the eu if the uk asked for labour mps will be it. In terms of the contents of the voting. The question is will some deal, we have let forward already to what it means for politics, the eu back boriss is happy with the deal deal . Before then, lets find out whats happening wherever you are this because it meets lots of their red lines, morning when it comes to the news, the travel and whether. Well see Single Market is protected, for example, the big thing the eu has you at given borisjohnson 7am. Example, the big thing the eu has given Boris Johnson is example, the big thing the eu has given borisjohnson is the idea of a good morning from bbc london. Im victoria hollins. Consent mechanism for the Northern Ireland assembly to vote in at least london conservative mp four years time whether it wants to mark field has continue with the arrangements. The announced Northern Ireland assembly could pull he wont stand at the next general out of the arrangements i remember election, blaming what he says how many times the eu said they is a deeply Divisive Political atmosphere. Wa nted how many times the eu said they wanted something that could mr field, whos held the seat of the cities last of london and westminster forever as a permanent insurance since 2001, said tensions over brexit would define domestic policy. Thank you so much for taking politics for years us through that, plenty more from to come. Westminster through this morning, the mp caused controversy and with in the summer after frogmarching a protester at the interviews from chancellors mps across Mansion House speech. Police have arrested more than 700 to continue through the course people during a week long operation of today as well. Heavy showers, sunny spells between them, however. To tackle so called county lines though, like i drugs gangs across the uk. Said, you might get a in total, drugs with a street value of around £a00,000 were also seized. Rumble of thunder heres our home and see some flashes of lightning affairs on the heaviest showers, correspondent, tom but youll get clearer spells, symonds. So sunshine bursting through. Across the country, Police Forces, the showers continue through the afternoon, blowing through on quite a brisk urban and rural, have been working together to move in on the county south westerly wind and quite a gusty wind actually, lines drug gangs. A0 a5mph gusts potentially and temperatures today this was a between 12 and 1a celsius, joint west so feeling a little bit midlands west mercia cooler. 0vernight, we still have the risk operation. Of some showers, but theyll become fewer and further between. Suspected dealers from birmingham if you get one, though, could be quite heavy. Just as the police have changed their tactics, its likely the gangs will too. Theyve shown theyre prepared to protect their trade worth £500 million a year and they seem to be here to stay. Tom symonds, bbc news. Back to brexit now. A momentous 2a hours lies ahead for Boris Johnson here in westminster. The £1 million question can he convince mps good morning. Welcome to breakfast to back his brexit with Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt in westminster deal . Let us take you through some where Boris Johnson faces the political fight of his life. Of the he has around 2a basics. Hours to persuade mps in total, he has to get 320 votes to back his new brexit deal agreed with eu leaders in the house of commons if everyone turns up. And it wont be easy. There are currently 287 conservative mps. As i have never tired of telling the first thing the Prime Minister will be looking to do is make you, i dont think there is any case sure none of them rebel. For delay. I think we should get the dup say they wont support him. On and get it done. In order to avoid trying hell want the backing of former conservative mps to get an extension he has been too eager who are currently independent. By far to get a deal there are 23 of them its thought most will support the deal. At any cost. But thats still not quite mps will hold a rare saturday sitting here to vote enough. He also needs on the deal this morning were the backing of some labour mps at the heart of the debate and ex labour independents. At the beginning of a this still leaves the overall vote very close. Crucial two days in british well, were joined now by independent former conservative politics. Mp Dominic Grieve more than 700 people are arrested across the uk and conservative in a week long operation to mp andrew tackle so called county lines drugs bridgen. Two mps who borisjohnson would very gangs. Mobile phone operator three says it much like to be voting in has restored services for the majority of its customers. Favour of the deal tomorrow, lets do some people are still struggling to call, send texts or access data a very straightforward question first. Andrew, how will you be the advice is switch your phone off and on. Ill be finding out voting . Currently minded to vote for the what your deal unless the sunny devil in the compensation rights could detail comes out today the macro be. During debate the premier league steps up its campaign against racism on saturday following the scenes in bulgaria on monday night unless with an increased presence of their zero tolerance any devil in the detail. The Country Campaign is deeply divided. We need to this move on. My constituents have brexit weekend. Fatigue and this deal is better than and if you love sporting rainbows, the Withdrawal Agreement theresa may brought forward and i am todays the day for you dig sundry particularly pleased with the showers and sunshine in political declaration, loose a the forecast Free Trade Agreement with the but what about the weekend . All the details here eu rather than close regulatory alignment. I will not be voting for on breakfast. This on saturday unless there brea kfast. Is a its friday the 18th of october. Referendum attached to it, that has welcome to a special edition of breakfast. Been my position for a long were here in westminster, time. Where the Prime Minister has around the deal is undoubtedly better 2a hours to sell his new brexit deal to mps. Than leaving with no deal but he borisjohnson returned from brussels has to last night after sealing understand and andrew has an agreement highlighted this, the nature of with eu the long term relationship, as is the leaders. Intention for it to be his challenge now is to persuade significantly at least 320 mps to back it diverging from eu partners, in a crucial commons will lead to extremely difficult vote tomorrow. Negotiations over the 0ur political correspondent, next two, nick eardley has more. Three years. People have to we have a deal. Understand that. Maybe that is what they want and if they wanted, many thought this simply would not happen so be it. But to simply ask Boris Johnson hand in hand with jean claude juncker, me to rubber stamp this is something i am after signing off not prepared to do. If there the brexit deal some was a thought was impossible. Confirmatory referendum attached to this is a great deal it, i will cheerfully support it, for our country, the uk. Even though i happen to think the i also believe it is a very good deal for our deal has many flaws, but friends in the eu. I certainly acce pt deal has many flaws, but i certainly accept all deals have flaws and and what it means is that we in every form of brexit i look at does the uk can come out of the eu not seem to me to have as one many advantages. What does the united kingdom. Confirmatory referendum look like . Advantages. What does the confirmatory referendum look like . |j have always been of the it removes the controversial backstop view you and replaces it with could ask three questions, new arrangements to avoid a hard border in ireland. The Prime Ministers deal, no deal, and Boris Johnson still faces a massive battle to get that remain on the ballot paper on a single deal through transferable vote. Some people say, parliament. I respect them, if the prime at the moment, he cannot be assured of a majority ministers deal is so acceptable to who will back him in heart brexiteers, no need the house of commons. To put no the next 2a hours will involve deal on the ballot some intense arm twisting, paper at all trying to persuade his own mps ha rd deal on the ballot paper at all hard brexiteers. We dont know what and some from the opposition the public want, it is nearly to get on board. The Prime Minister runs a minority four government here and, years since the last referendum, and officially, every single opposition quite frankly i think we party is opposed to his plan. Ought to be crucially, the dup asking people, this is your choice, who keep the tories in power your future, it will affect us are not getting on for decades, and the final thing i would board. In order to avoid trying to get say, if the Prime Minister does not an extension he has been too get the deal across the eager by far to get line, incredibly finely balanced, i dont a deal at any cost. Know what will happen on saturday, and the fact of the matter is had not the end, we are not about to he held out and held his nerve crash out on the 31st of he would have gotten october, thatis better concessions. Crash out on the 31st of october, that is time for parliament to which kept the integrity do economically and constitutionally further consideration. That is my of the uk. View of what we should be doing. The pm no will be back at his desk this appetite out there at all morning to try and change minds, to convince everyone for a in his own party that the former second referendum, that will undermine every simple majority vote tory mps and some labour we ever have. This is the last throw of the dice for those who never mps who want to see brexit wa nted of the dice for those who never wanted us to leave the eu delivered. If he can do that, at all, i maybe, just maybe his am just now to go to my deal could get through Parliament Tomorrow. Constituency and do constituency work and i but it is presume dominic will be going to be staying in tight. London, i have represented the views so just how tight is it going to be . Of my constituents who voted to lets take a detailed look at the numbers. Leave. Coming back one step in total, he has to get 320 votes in the house of commons from that argument to the vote tomorrow, if everyone you will remember the erg, turns up. You are here to speak for yourself, but of there are currently those other mps part of 287 conservative mps. The first thing the Prime Minister the group, will be looking to do is make sure can you tell us how they none of them rebel. Will be voting . They will all be the dup say they wont support him. Looking at the detail of the deal, as hell want the backing of former i have, conservative mps who are currently and come to their own independent. There are 23 of them conclusions. Its thought most will support trying to corral conservative mps the deal. But thats still and say they will vote a certain way not quite enough, is like trying to herd cats. The vast majority will come to the he also needs the backing of some view. Is at your understanding you labourmps and ex labour are taking a different view independents. From this still leaves the some of the erg colleagues . There overall vote very close. Will be a meeting of the erg were joined now by our political on saturday morning before the debate correspondent, iain starts, but i think. You will watson. Good morning, ian. It make a decision as a group . They is all about will advise what the Group Decision will getting this over the line, isnt be but it is not binding. I it . It is. I think we are set for think one of the most dramatic the vast majority of the erg will come to the conclusion this deal days seen in westminster. And to be is tolerable and also we need to get able to say that in these times is quite brexit across the line, what we do interesting. Yes. A new standard has been set. The not want is a second referendum. Stakes are so their wounds not want is a second referendum. Theirwounds in not want is a second referendum. Their wounds in the country will heal once we have high tomorrow it could determine the left, but a second outcome of the next election and the numbers are incredibly close to referendum will reopen wounds borisjohnson will be starting that have not healed and undermine a Charm Offensive today, accentuate in democracy fatally and i cannot ever support it. As far the fact that it is time to get this as referendums deal done and there are great are concerned, ive no idea what the majority in the view opportunities to he will have to of the country will be, but there will be a million be quite charming, frankly, he people on the streets tomorrow asking for one. The idea it is has been a offensive to those sceptical of his nonissue, i dont think he is deal. The dup are worried right. I will be in my about the border in the irish constituencyjust like andrew will be in his over sea and he has the weekend. We both try to respond to to stop short, i think, of telling what our local communities say but them they will be chucked out of the we are there to try party but nonetheless i think he to do our best. Will be twisting arms painfully over finally, it is interesting that erg the next 2a hour was. Who have been so consistent about can he bring the unity of the uk are prepared to enough labour mps . They are worried about a lack of commitment and clear carve Northern Ireland out of black and white underlined in the uk, ifind workers right. If carve Northern Ireland out of the uk, i find it very carve Northern Ireland out of the uk, ifind it very interesting. That rebellion and carve Northern Ireland out of the uk, i find it very interesting. As a unionist. What do you mean . The as she was seven or arrangement that government has come ten mps. And my assessment at the moment to is effectively carving northern is he is ireland out of the falling short of getting the deal uk. Economically. Through tomorrow. An awful lot you cannot escape that. Theresa may of work is still to be done in the next did not want to do it which 2a hours and certainly the is why she wanted the backstop. The changes opposition parties want to keep the to the backstop are focus tomorrow on getting rid of the deal and trying to get an constitutionally quite significant. I will be interested to hear extension instead. Later we will speak how andrew to John Mcdonald of the labour party. Thank explains his approach to this. You very much. We made commitments, no hard border the focus for on us this the island of ireland. Parliament morning is on events here in made those commitments. The only westminster but it is worth checking extra checks there will be between in over on the continent. The uk and Northern Ireland will be lets speak to our brussels on goods that could be re exported to the eu from Northern Ireland, reporter, adam fleming. No checks on goods coming back the what news do you have for us in other way. Northern ireland will be terms of reaction today . The leaving the eu on the 31st of august eu is happy with the revised deal that under the deal exactly the same as the negotiators did with brits because the rest of the uk and they will they will be have every benefit of being in checks on goods the uk Customs Union and the free trade and livestock and Food Products going agreements. Can i ask from Great Britain to you the same Northern Ireland which means they could then question i asked andrew about the go on to the rest of the eu and people in a similar position to you, that means that the Single Market is the rebel tory mps, physically protected. The european you are speaking court ofjustice will be able to to them, your phone is busy, rule on disputes about things that happen in Northern Ireland to do what are you hearing in terms of what with eu law which means the single might change on market is protected in a legal sense this vote from as well. And the the theresa may vote . I think it eu has not had is very difficult from theresa mays vote, to make any changes to its legislation not sure there is a huge about customs or regulations or anything like that. So their amount that will change. There are a group of objectives have been met. Conservatives who have had the where they whip have given ground to the uk is removed, they are described the idea of a sometimes as the 22, but they are a very varied group, good colleagues, consent mechanism with people are treated as friends, they the Northern Ireland assembly so in are very concerned theory in about 7. 5 years, people are treated as friends, they are very concerned about a no deal if the brexit, we are all united in our Northern Ireland Assembly Votes to view that is a very bad pull the plug on the arrangements it can do so. There is a risk idea, certainly. Some of them think like i that do and believe a there may be nothing to referendum is worth take its place after 7. 5 years and that is a pushing for because we think it is big shift from the eu was, remember, the only way we will resolve all those times they said that this problem. If i may, what they wanted was a the only way we will resolve this problem. Ifi may, Oliver Letwin saying there are 100 insurance 17, 18 of policy that could potentially last for ever, no matter what your former tory colleagues who now will be minded to vote with boris circumstances and what eu leaders have done to try johnson. That has been the position and help boris for weeks, nothing new about that. Johnson is by not saying anything have they been promised the whip about a potential extension or another delay to the back . I have no idea. I am break process sure they if this all goes wrong. They are are not being influenced by that. Trying to help him bolster the they are influenced by what they think is best for the country, message to mps with a special sitting of Parliament Tomorrow. Is just asi think is best for the country, just as i am. Totally respectful of their either vote for the deal or point of view. But the numbers that is you it. Thank you very much. Have just given point of view. But the numbers you havejust given me point of view. But the numbers you have just given me do point of view. But the numbers you havejust given me do not point of view. But the numbers you have just given me do not come as we will be any surprise at all. It has back with you later on with plenty been apparent for a long time a lot of more from westminster throughout those opposed to no deal are this morning and prepared to vote for a deal looking ahead to and would not push for a referendum on saturday vote. Mps across the spectrum will be joining us it. 0thers saturday vote. Mps across the would not push for a referendum on it. Others will end the question as spectrum will bejoining us here. To how it pans out in other news turkey has agreed to a 5 day on the numbers ceasefire in Northern Syria to let tomorrow, i dont wish to kurdish led forces withdraw. The pause in hostilities speculate was announced others will and the question after talks in ankara between president erdogan of turkey as to. We have improved the and the us Vice President , mike pence. Deal rich preston immensely. If Boris Johnson to. We have improved the deal immensely. If borisjohnson had not has more. Been hamstrung by a remain dominated parliament who put through for days, turkey has been bombarding the benn kurdish posts in Northern Syria act which has hamstrung his negotiations by taking no deal off with heavy the table, we would have got a artillery fire. Much better deal and a lot quicker. Now hope for the alternative view is that benn act is the one thing that forced some respite. America him to do s vice mike penson the secretary negotiating. Two different angles. Dominic grieve, andrew, thank you of state mom mike pompeo arrived in very much. If ankara for talks with you want a turkeys president. Matt, you promised blue sky would come through and sunshine but you did not say how cold it would be. Idid. Blue cold it would be. I did. Blue sky is guaranteed from me always. 0ver i did. Blue sky is guaranteed from me always. Over the hill, sunshine coming up in north wales. More of us will see sunshine at times today but i think the next all you need to know. Shower clouds revolving around low pressure over night, moving through the day, more downpours to come. Some of you probably got disturbed in the night. Heavy showers and more showers packing into wales and the south west. Torrential rain in north of england at the moment, pushing its way into south and east scotland this morning and early afternoon. Northern england will brighten up. North and west cotton, a few showers, same too in Northern Ireland. West of scotland. Shower is continuing in wales and southern england, not getting any respite. Sunshine in between. But the wind is picking up, gusty afternoon in southern areas, a050 gusty afternoon in southern areas, a0 50 miles an hour gusts possible. Better afternoon for Northern England compared to this morning. When the rain sets in and the central area of scotland, windy throughout, damp and soggy and the day and journey home. Showers in the south. Wherever you are today, on the roads, be prepared, surface water and spray. Tonight, showers continue on the coast but more persistent rain in the south eastern corner of scotland and potentially north east england. Last night temperatures down into single figures, clever frost thanks to the breeze and that breeds will become a feature this weekend, but if you are off and have plans, fewer showers around. Saturday, we have got more persistent rain still across scotla nd persistent rain still across scotland and north east england and showers dotted around and more across scotland and better day in the south compared to the past few days, lighter winds, fewer showers. Chilly breeze making its self known. The weekend, sunday, temperatures will drop even further. Northerly wind for all of us. North east england, south to scotland, rain. For most on sunday, largely dry with a little bit of sunshine and even if it does feel chilly, and the chilly feel continues next week. But the start of the week should be largely dry. Good to know. At least people can play out in half term. Thank you. Some other stories. Extinction rebellion climate protestors will be taking part in a final day of demonstrations across london today. It comes after violent clashes at stratford, canning town and shadwell tube stations yesterday. British transport police say eight people have been arrested. Tim muffett has more. Extinction more than 1,700 arrests, roads blocked, airports, businesses. How long are you standing up there for, because ive got to go to work . How long . Even tube trains targeted. For the past two weeks, life in london has been disrupted. No trains, ladies and gents. Protesters on top of trains. Theres no trains. And Joel Scott Halkes is delighted. So two weeks of protests, what have they actually achieved . What weve seen this week is an incredible outpouring of sacrifice from ordinary people. So weve had doctors, climate scientists, nurses, hairdressers, electricians, all giving up their time and sacrificing their liberty, getting arrested, because this cause is so serious and this is unprecedented in british history where people are saying, enough is enough. Disruption to commuters, criminal damage and Police Brought in from other parts of the country, not doing the duties they should be doing, tube trains jumped on. How does that bring about zero Carbon Emissions . Business as usual, as we know it, the entire functioning of our economy allowed by the government, is driving us and our children towards death and extinction possibly. We need to disrupt business as usual, and right now our protesters have been ignored for so long that they will find any way possible to sound that fire alarm. But a tube train is an environmentally friendly way to travel compared to a car. Itjust seems an odd choice of target. We are following in a noble tradition, from gandhi to Martin Luther king, a history of non violent civil disobedience. This is not about disrupting and stopping Carbon Emissions themselves, its about disrupting business as usual, disrupting everyday life and disrupting the economy to force the government to take action. Over the past fortnight, the protests have been widely condemned. But youre not doing any good for your own cause. If youre going to protest, you want the support of the people. Cant really win the support of the people by disrupting theirjourneys. They should get out of the way they should get lost they should go and find Something Better to do. What this protest group are doing is unlawful. It is causing misery to thousands of people. Youve made your point, 0k. Do you think that some people have actually been put off your argument because youve taken such extreme measures . Its possible, yeah, absolutely, so as a movement we will move through a process of reflection, learning and listening to the public. Earlier this week, police moved protesters from Trafalgar Square after new restrictions were announced under the public order act measures Extinction Rebellion are challenging in the high court. Some of the celebrities whove backed you, some of the people whove taken part in these protests, theres a level of hypocrisy, isnt there . People fly, people driving, and you want zero Carbon Emissions. How does that work . Im a hypocrite, youre a hypocrite, those celebrities are hypocrites, and the reason for that is were all stuck in this very toxic economy at the moment. Our very way of life is incredibly fragile right now, and if we waited until we were all perfect and werent hypocrites, that fragile way of life will have collapsed. Will you do this again . The government is still not being brought to the table, so its going to be on us to increase the disruption and force the government into a bargaining situation where they start to take measures to protect us from this crisis. This phase of protests might be coming to an end, but Extinction Rebellion expect to be back. Tim muffett, bbc news. We will be covering all of that through the day on bbc news. Time now to get the news, travel and weather where you are. Good morning. Today, the showers will be a bit more extensive than yesterday, many more of us catching one. It will stay like that for the next few days, turning quite chilly as well, particularly by sunday. You can see here, from this morning, quite a messy picture with frequent showers moving through the Bristol Channel, through southern areas of england, more persistent rain across Central Scotland and the north east of england, showers for wales, a bit drier in Northern Ireland, but you can not rule out a shower here as well. Tonight, we will continue with that shower rethink as low pressure continues to move eastwards across the uk. Some of the showers could be heavy. With that showery theme. 0ver heavy. With that showery theme. Over the weekend, more showers on saturday, fewer showers by sunday, but look at the temperatures, dropping down, quite a chilly day on sunday. This is worklife from bbc news, with ben bland and Lewis Vaughan jones. Free trade and friendly co operation borisjohnson promises business a Bright Future after brexit. Live from london, thats our top story on friday 18th october. But britains leader is in a race to win support for a deal by saturday, and also faces years of negotiation over eu rules and market access. Also in the programme. Chinas economy splutters the trade war takes its toll as growth slows to its weakest in a quarter of a century. And as Extinction Rebellion protestors descend on the uks capital, we find out how companies, not governments, are under intense scrutiny over their climate credentials. And well be getting the inside track on the s word, sustainability, its a business buzzword for yonks, but is itjust about Climate Change and why should Companies Care . Well find out later. Today, we want to know about e mail overload, should compamnies ban staff from work emails outside office hours . Let us know, just use the hashtag bbcworklife
