Team, hasnt been firing on all it is a huge weekend ahead cylinders yet, so perhaps reverting at the Rugby World Cup for three home nations, as england him to his preferred position. Cylinders yet, so perhaps reverting him to his preferred positionm george is doing well, why not keep coach eddie jones brings him for such a big match . Because he brings in henry slade, and it brings captain owen farrell back in at fly half, them slightly more attacking options dropping george ford going forward, which perhaps they feel against australia could be for the game against australia. And i will be Getting Better at important. It is a big call. It is a looking after built heritage. This big hole, but it is a formation they site has just been placed have used in the past, so they are looking after built heritage. This site hasjust been placed on the looking after built heritage. This site has just been placed on the at risk register, and i will be finding reverting to something tried and out what can be done here. In the tested as well. Big weekend ahead for england, scotland and ireland forecast, there is rain around in at the Rugby World Cup. The form of showers. Sunshine and they have all got their quarter finals in japan, showers for the next few days, but i eddiejones making a significant will have the full details right change to his england side here in breakfast. For saturdays game against australia. Captain owen farrell starts at fly half, so george ford drops it is thursday 17 october. To the bench. Our top story with just hours to go henry slade comes in at centre. Before a crucial eu summit, the Prime Minister is facing a last minute scramble to agree a brexit deal with leaders. The world of boxing is coming in spite of the secrecy to terms with the death surrounding the talks, it is understood almost of another fighter. All outstanding issues have been american patrick day has died, agreed, leaving only a handful of technical difficulties to overcome. Four days after a fight in chicago. Manchester city were held to a 1 1 draw against Atletico Madrid well speak to our Political Correspondent helen catt in westminster in a moment. In the first leg of their last 16 Champions League tie. But first, lets get elsewhere, there were wins the latest from brussels, from adam fleming. Adam, whats happening today . For glasgow city and arsenal. And englands women will play in front of a sold out Wembley Stadium for the first time, after the fa confirmed more than 80,000 tickets have been it was so much will they, wont sold for next months they, all day yesterday. Where are friendly against germany. We now . I think there is going to be some will they, wont they, again today. Apologies that it is a slightly confusing picture, but here is where i think we are. The uk in what an atmosphere that is going to the eu negotiating teams have pretty be. Astonishing, isnt it . 80,000 much finished revising the brexit tickets for that one. Sounds like a deal. So there is a new draft treaty floating around, and we have all great occasion. More on all the that ideas about what is in it. I sport coming up a little bit later, and we will have a look at the will come back to that in the inside pages as well. Lets take a look at this mornings papers, and the brexit talks second. But it will only be the real dominate the front pages. The guardian writes that the Prime Minister has conservative eurosceptics on board with his deal, but it will be a last minute scramble to secure the backing deal once the uk government officially signs up to it. They have of the dup. The telegraphs headline says, not officially signed up to it yet, now we can see the light, and as helen will explain in a referring to a comparison mrjohnson made between brexit talks minute, that is because the dup, the and the film shawshank redemption, governments Northern Irish allies, have got lots of problems with it. In which the lead character escapes so this is not a done deal yet. If jail after a long crawl through prison sewage pipes. It does become one, we expect boris the daily mail headlines with another analogy made johnson to come here, probably this by the Prime Minister, afternoon, maybe even earlier, likening brexit talks to climbing before the summit starts, and all mount everest. The leaders will get togetherjust after lunchtime, have their brexit discussion, and in an ideal world, the picture is of Prince William eve ryo ne discussion, and in an ideal world, everyone will sign off on the brexit and kate during their royal tour in pakistan. The mirror says dup leader Arlene Foster has dismissed deal at a big political level and reports her party is ready to back then start the process of it being mrjohnsons deal as nonsense. The paper is also focusing approved at westminster and also on the death of former emmerdale being approved possibly as soon as actress leah bracknell. Next week in the European Parliament as well. Which means the deal could be signed, sealed, completed, before brexit day on 31 october. Whether brexit day on 31 october. Whether brexit they can actually happen on 31 october is a question mark about that as well. Whether there is a so we are going to have a look at deal or not, and it is complicated enough, but we havent even started some of the inside pages. And i am about what is in it. That will take probably another hour. We have loads talking about pensions a lot this morning because we know it is of time, dont worry. Thank you. Notoriously complicated to work out lets speak to our political how much you might need to put aside correspondent helen catt, who is in westminster. So adam outlined some of the 110w how much you might need to put aside now to get the retirement that you expect later on. A lot of tools will tell us if you save this much you will get £10,000 a year, £15,000, problems there. This morning, head and they are always really disappointing. We always need to save much more than we ever think. Of Boris Johnsons problems there. This morning, head of borisjohnsons trip to brussels, what the industry has done is come if that happens, there are a whole up bunch of things that remain to be what the industry has done is come up with a plan and what the daily mail have done this morning is try sorted out here. Absolutely, and while talks may be less formal than and come up with a formula. This is we have been seeing in brussels, the sort of lifestyle you might they are no less crucial. If you expect. So holidays, for example, a think about it, theresa may reached big thing in retirement, they suggest you get one week in the uk a deal with the eu. It was here at ona suggest you get one week in the uk on a coach holiday, three nights in a b b. Whereas if you are saving up to £30,000 a year you might get a couple of foreign holidays, two westminster that hit the buffers weeks in italy, maybe a week in spain. £10,000 a year from the three times. What we have seen over the last few days is groups of mps moment you start earning . No, this going in and out of downing street, isnt about saving, this is what you having these conversations with the Prime Ministers team about whether might put away to get that annual 01 Prime Ministers team about whether or not they might support proposals, what they would need to support those proposals. We understand those income. From when . There are so many other sort of discussion they have been having. A couple of key groups have been focused on here. There is scenarios. Whether you are a couple the erg, known as the hardline or single, when you start saving. Brexiteers in the conservative party the messages always save early and who want a looser relationship with save when you think. And a lot of europe. They have been making positive noises about Boris Johnsons proposals although they say they wont sign up to anything workplace pensions say on your until they have seen the full legal current earnings and savings you will get a pension of around £10,000 text of a final deal. As adam said, the other key group is the dup, ten or £15,000, but when you are at work, when you are 25 or 30, you have no idea what that buys you in mps from Northern Ireland. They have not signed up to these proposals so retirement. You might think it is sunshine, holidays and cocktails on the beach. The reality is often very far. They were saying that gaps still remain as far as they are concerned. A lot of it seems to relate to this idea of how Northern Irish communities give their consent different. What the industry is to entering into any backup trying to do is make it more clear arrangements on the island to avoid about what you can realistically expect, given what you are saving. Checks on the island of ireland. So we will have more details for you in it looks like there is more talking about half an hour. We will have more details for you in about halfanhour. Obviously events in bulgaria on monday night we have to be done. We expect to see them covered closely. Inevitable that other sports are perhaps taking a going in for more talks today. As look at themselves, and in the lead up ever, it is going to be in the look at themselves, and in the lead up to that quarterfinal, players have been asked whether they have detail of whatever deal is brought experienced racism in rugby and they back from brussels to see whether or not it will or will not pass say they have seen players being parliament. Thank you very much. Around 10,000 protestors have taken abused. He says not at england or to the streets in a third night of violent unrest in barcelona. Thursday to saturday, a story of sunshine and heavy showers, some becoming heavy and thundery. An area of low pressure setting to the west of ireland is like a cooking pot of showers, or popcorn. They are going to be the showers. Either way, i think we will all see rain at some point. Most of us will start the day dry, a bit of mist and fog, east of scotla nd dry, a bit of mist and fog, east of scotland temperatures below freezing. Notice how through the day, the showers push northwards and eastwards, becoming heavy and thundery. Northern england stays dry and temperatures into the teens, similarto and temperatures into the teens, similar to what we had yesterday. The breeze will pick up through the day and tonight with winds in the southern areas close to galeforce if not a little bit more. These showers keep going overnight and become more extensive as we go to the start of friday. Temperatures not as low as they this morning but rather fresh. Through friday, showers possible just about anywhere, most likely to be wales and south west. The chance of one or two downpours in the next few days and these will continue with the risk of flooding, continuing into saturday and sunday. We will try and get a better picture. We will sort that out. Two months after a British Airways flight filled with smoke and was forced to make an Emergency Landing in valencia, several passengers have told the bbc that theyre still suffering from breathing difficulties. The airline says, for legal reasons, it cant comment on what caused the incident until a spanish air accident investigation is complete. Our transport correspondent tom burridge has been to meet some of the passengers still trying find answers to their health problems. There was a lot of smoke pouring into the plane, very rapidly. What does my doctor need to know. Loads of other questions. Should it have been into the air . British airways excess for legal reasons cannot comment what causes smoke to pour into the cabin, until a spanish air accident investigation is complete. What people may not realise is the air you breathe on board virtually every major passenger plane comes in via the engines. The engines have been stripped of this aircraft. Once compressed air goes through and into the cabin. If oil or hydraulic fluid lea ks, the cabin. If oil or hydraulic fluid leaks, it can contaminate the s supply ina leaks, it can contaminate the s supply in a cabin. Pilots and cabin crew tell us this scenario is consistent with this particular air flight. Consistent with this particular air flight. We have spoken to pilots crew and sent flight reports the point to less severe few events on ba flights in recent weeks but they are not limited to uk airlines. This australian gp regular treats pilots and cabin crew exposed to toxic fumes. If i had and cabin crew exposed to toxic fumes. Ifi had seen and cabin crew exposed to toxic fumes. If i had seen one or two patients over a number of years, i thought, not sure about that but i am seeing several hundred and we are seeing hundreds, if not thousands, worldwide, and it is chronologically related to a few event. This former pilot, who had to retire because of health problems, linked to breathing in toxic fumes in flight he says, says retrofitting and paint would help. If the industry simply installed filters on current aeroplanes and designs of future applets, like the boeing 787, that no longer take care for the engines and they have a duty of care to everybody who flies. British airways and easyjet told us they have been testing filters. Ba also said it encourages staff to report few events and said it would never operate an aircraft if you believe there was any health or safety risk to customers or crew. Still to come on breakfast you know how much you need in your pension to live comfortably in retirement . We will be talking to the lady in waiting to princes margaret. Her family set up mistake, the island where all the celebrities go. Time now to get the news, travel and weather where you are. Good morning from bbc london. Im victoria hollands. Hundreds of overseas dentists, fully qualified in their home countries, are being turned away from training places here due to a lack of funding. Figures from the British Dental Council show in the past three years around 650 applicants to the dental exam have been refused. They say they cant increase places without putting costs up, but some fear without changes the current shortage of dentists in the capital could get worse. At the moment, it is not a crisis but it is getting towards a crisis. It is not a good situation and certainly needs to get better. The numbers really depend on how successful it is and how quickly we can do it. If we can do things quickly, we can slowly build this up but if we do not, we will then be facing a massive shortage. Almost 15 years since london won the bid to host the olympics on a promise to help reduce health inequalities, theres still an east west divide. Thats according to the think tank, centre for london. It found that, on some measures, People Living in the east, which was home to the games, have fared worse, with some of the lowest levels of adult physical activity in the capital. The London Legacy Development Corporation says tackling entrenched issues needs co ordinated action and funding from a range of sources. Londons earliest surviving fire station and a pair of victorian chapels are in danger of decaying due to neglect according to Historic England. Its annual Heritage Survey found 648 sites in the capital are at risk. But theres some good news, the chapels at isleworth cemetery are now being restored and brought back into use. Lets take a look at the travel situation now. All lines are currently running a good service. On the trains, trains suspended between watford junction and houston following signal problems. On the roads traffic on the a13 is building westbound from dagenham into barking. Now the weather with elizabeth rizzini. Good morning, feeling slightly cooler this morning with temperatures in single figures across the board. Beautiful autumn colours across the capital but a lot of these leaves likely to be on the ground after the next couple of days with a windy spell ahead, plenty of blustery showers but also sunny spells. In spite of the secrecy surrounding the talks, it is understood almost all outstanding issues have been agreed, leaving only a handful of technical difficulties to overcome. Around 10,000 protestors have taken to the streets in a third night of violent unrest in the spanish city of barcelona. The protests are against the jail sentences handed down to nine catalan politicians following a failed bid for independence. The leader of catalonia has called for an immediate end to the violent street protests, saying the movement should remain peaceful and there was no excuse for burning cars. President trump has said borisjohnson asked him to set up a meeting between the family of a teenager killed in a Road Accident in northamptonshire and the American Woman suspected of being involved. The parents of harry dunn flew to the us to persuade Anne Sacoolas to return to the uk after she claimed diplomatic immunity. The visit comes as donald trump sent a letter to turkeys president erdogan saying, you dont want to be responsible for slaughtering thousands of people, and urging him not to be a tough guy or a fool. So far president erdogan has dismissed calls for a ceasefire. Raheem sterling has joked that he can call it a day on the Champions League after being awarded a gold blue peter badge. The Manchester City and england player received the award in recognition of his success on the pitch, and also for his work combating negativity, including racist abuse. Only a few gold badges are awarded each year for outstanding achievements. Sir david attenborough, ed sheeran and David Beckham have also been given one in the past. You are an inspiration not only through your actions on the pitch, but also of the pitch, for standing up but also of the pitch, for standing upfor but also of the pitch, for standing up for peoples rights. So with that in mind, it would be an absolute honour to award you our highest accolade, and that is the blue peter gold badge. You are in very prestigious company, so congratulations. Thank you, thank you very much. Have you got one of those . No. Clearly some clerical mistake. David beckham, charlie state. No, ijust meana beckham, charlie state. No, ijust mean a regular blue peter badge. Charlie stayt. I think mean a regular blue peter badge. Charlie stayt. I think i stole one from a blue peter presenter. So we know the lineups now. Yes, this is where they pin their hopes on the team who will get them over the line at the quarterfinal stage. But these guys are best friends. Owen farrell on the right, george ford on the left. George ford has been starting fly half throughout the whole tournament, but he has been dropped and owen farrell will come in and replaced him at fly half. Imagine what that dynamic must be like for those guys, best friends, and yet one guy will get it. Dont care, you want to be on the team. There has to be a little bit of that. Am i right in thinking they dont use the word dropped . They call them starters and finishes. Yes, everyone plays their part. So eddiejones restoring owen farrel to his preferred position. Unfortunate perhaps for george ford, who has been one of englands standout players so of far. Butjones going for the trio of farrell, tuilagi and slade he selected in the six nations. I think the great thing about the world cup is that each games just by itself, so whatever youve done in the past doesnt really affect what youre going to do on saturday. And what we do know on saturday that we are going to be well prepared for the game. We have had a physical prep, we have had a good tactical prep. The players are enjoying being injapan. Prep. The players are enjoying being in japan. They prep. The players are enjoying being injapan. They are ready to go, and we know australia will be the same, so we know australia will be the same, so thats going to be some sort of a game. The world of boxing is coming to terms with the death of another fighter. The american patrick day has died, four days after suffering a brain injury during a bout in chicago. He was 27 years old. Promoter lou dibella said day chose to box, knowing the inherent risks that every fighter faces when he or she walks into a ring. Boxing is what he loved to do. If things werent bad enough, there has been a blow for Manchester United ahead of their game against premier League Leaders liverpool. Paul pogba wont be fit to play at old trafford on sunday. He has failed to recover from a foot injury. And keeper david de gea is also a doubt after he was injured on international duty. It has been the worst start to a League Season in 30 years for united. Manchester city have work to do to if theyre to reach the quarter finals of the womens Champions League. They were held to a 1 1 draw by Atletico Madrid in their first leg at home at the etihad campus. Janine beckies opening goal cancelled out late on. The second leg is on 30 october. Elsewhere, there were wins for glasgow city and arsenal. Next to some brilliant news for englands women. They have sold out Wembley Stadium for the very first time. The friendly against germany next month could beat the previous attendance record for a womens game in the uk. That was just over 80,000, for the 2012 olympic final between United States and japan. The record for an england home match isjust over 45,000. Weve all been so excited for this wembley game, and to play against germany, one of the most famous fixtures in the whole world. And, speaking on behalf of the girls, i think we really deserve to go and play in front of them types of stadiums, in front of them types of people that are coming to watch us, and we need to put on a performance as well. The venue for the first spanish el clasico of the season next week between barcelona and real marid could be moved. The nou camp is due to host the fixture against real madrid, but as weve seen this morning, protests have been sparked in the catalonian capital after nine separatist leaders were jailed on monday. Police and demonstrators have clashed in the city centre this week. There was success for Great Britain on the first day of the european track cycling championships in the netherlands. Emily nelson won gold in the scrath race, taking the lead at the beginning of the final lap of 40 in the 10 km. The 22 year old held on until the finish line to win ahead of irelands shannon mccurley. Jack carlin, jason kenny and ryan owens had to settle for silver, though, as they were beaten by the netherlands in the mens team sprint. Plenty of sport as we gear up for that big weekend injapan, england, ireland and wales all in action. Clear your diaries, people. Have you got Something Else to show us . No, i will leave that with you for later. Charlie feelsjustified will leave that with you for later. Charlie feels justified about his ant story. He will bring you those details later. Fast ants. With hours to go before a crucial eu summit on brexit, a deal still hasnt been finalised. After days of reports that the talks were making good progress, leaders will gather in brussels hoping for history but bracing for bumps in the road. Lets discuss this with barbara wesel, european correspondent at german news broadcaster dw news, who is in brussels this morning, and Henry Zeffman from the times, who is in westminster. Good morning to you both. Barbara, if we can start with you, all the focus will be on brussels. Can you give us a sense of what you are hearing on what could be a crucial day . I mean, basically, i hate to sort of correct you, however, from our point of view, all the focus is on london, because that seems to be where the problems are now. That seems to be where the brexit deal, this last minute agreement, is being held up. So in brussels they say we we re held up. So in brussels they say we were more or less ready last night. The ambassadors of the 27 member states, remaining member states, we re states, remaining member states, were briefed, and they said, ok, time is really very short. We dont like this. We need a bit more time, maybe a technical extension, but basically we will look at it and basically we will look at it and basically it seems to be done. But now, as things are being held up in london, it seems typically are really heading into extension time once more, because this is really a huge deja vu for everybody involved here. Yes, it is a very important point you make there, and henry, do you want to pick up on that . Quite rightly, barbara is saying that we are told there is a new draft treaty effectively ready to go in brussels, where barbara is, and yet this morning, we have to assume that there will be more talks at number ten downing street just there will be more talks at number ten downing streetjust to work out quite how this is going to play out. I think borisjohnson is simply determined not to sign up to anything which he cant be sure of getting through the house of commons. That is the mistake that theresa may made three times, it was humiliating for her and it ended her career humiliating for her and it ended her career in downing street. So what the Prime Minister is doing is trying to make sure that anything he might agree on brussels, and as barbara says, it sounds like he has got somewhere with the eu 27 leaders, or rather their representatives. But there is no point from his point of view bringing it back to westminster if it cant get through, and that is why the Democratic Unionist Party are so why the Democratic Unionist Party are so crucial. The numbers are going to be really tight. Even if borisjohnson can going to be really tight. Even if Boris Johnson can get this through the house of commons, the dup has ten votes. That is really important in and of itself, but also the dup are really important in getting that la st are really important in getting that last domino to fall, which is the 30 odd eurosceptics who voted against theresa mays deal three times. If the Democratic Unionist Party back borisjohnson, the tory the Democratic Unionist Party back Boris Johnson, the tory era eurosceptics are likely to back borisjohnson as well eurosceptics are likely to back Boris Johnson as well and a deal can get through parliament. Tory eurosceptics. Tell us who you think is prepared to be the one who gets the blame . Because so much of this is about all the people saying we are ready with a deal, we want to go with the deal. In a way, this is about who is prepared to be the bad quy about who is prepared to be the bad guy and say no, we are not in on the project, however close you might be. Well, there are lots of tory mps who are under theresa may thought that if they voted against a deal, that meant that no deal brexit or a hard brexit was likelier. Those who wanted a hard brexit i think got what they wanted, they got Boris Johnson in downing street, and he is negotiating in a slightly different way, different direction for the future relationship. But the benn act, which forces borisjohnson future relationship. But the benn act, which forces Boris Johnson to ask for an extension if you cant get a deal, means the calculation is a bit different. You might get a general election if you vote against it this time. That general election might lead to a Labour Government and the Labour Government now say it would hold a referendum against a softer exit deal and remain. Sol think the calculation for tory mps has changed. The number of potential rebels if Boris Johnson has changed. The number of potential rebels if borisjohnson brings a deal back here will be far fewer. But it is still going to be really close and that is why Boris Johnson is not going to sign off on anything until he is really sure it is going to get through here. And barbara, last thought from you, if we could. In terms of the european perspective, is it now seen that all the problems lie in downing street, and that the uk and the uk political Decision Making . Absolutely positively yes, because from the european perspective it has a lwa ys from the european perspective it has always been like that. I mean, the european side sort of did their bit in this sort of stage of negotiations. They did reopen the old Withdrawal Agreement and say, 0k, old Withdrawal Agreement and say, ok, we can reshape it. We will do something rather similar to the old Northern Irish or Northern Ireland only backstop, but we give it a different name. We call it the fabulous solution, whatever, and then we sort of put it on paper and we agree on it again. So if this doesnt fly, i mean, this is the second attempt of the whole european body, 27 member states, sitting down there and saying all right, were ready to do it. And then, if it doesnt fly, i mean, finger pointing from london to brussels is going to be really futile. Wont happen. The eu sits here and they heard Angela Merkel and macron last night at their press conference saying were almost there, the deal is within reach. If it doesnt fly, it is london, and they will have to look at themselves and their own problems and say we should have sold them in advance. We should havejust and say we should have sold them in advance. We should have just taken com pletely advance. We should have just taken completely different approach to brexit. Really interesting to hear your thoughts this morning. Barbara is from dw news. Thank you very much. Bye for now. This we will Bring Development if they come. Were talking about retirement now. So many people think, if ijust saved, i have the perfect retirement but it doesnt quite work out like that . Cruises, cocktails, the things they planned but we do not know how much we need to be getting paid out to have the lifestyle we want when we retire. Yes, its pretty confusing. So the industry has come up with a guide. It suggests three different lifestyles and how much money your pension will need to pay out each year to get you that. Of course, there are a lot of different factors the age you start saving, how much you save, and how well your pension provider invests the money. But for the minimum level one that covers all your bills, with a bit left over youd need about £10,000 a year. The state pension is around £8,700 a year and with a basic work pension on top, you should get that £10,000. But what does that get you . Well, it says you couldnt afford a car, youd spend less on food and you could probably have one uk holiday a year. So, if youre aiming for a bit more, the moderate standard of living, youd need around £20,000 a year. For that, youd be able to run a car, probably have a couple of holidays in europe, and spend a bit more on the weekly shop. But youd need to have more than the minimum workplace pension to get this. And if you want what it calls a comfortable standard of living when you retire, youll need at least £33,000 a year. With that, youll get some luxuries, longer holidays maybe a cruise, more money for your weekly food shop and some cash left over. But to get this level, youll have to pay in more to a well performing pension pot. So remember this is about what you will be paid out. Its not looking at what you need to pay in, because that is different for all of us and depends when you start paying, for how long, and how much your employer adds to your pot. So ill speak to the pensions Industry Trade body in the next hour to look at how useful this new guide could actually be to encourage more of us to save for our future. You can often logon into the internet and you can get a guide. If you start paying more in now, you get more out of now. That is the rule of thumb. But it is not always easy. Absolutely. But if you want that lovely retirement, you need to put more in now. Matt is in bath. Good morning. Iam inside beckfords tower, which isjust under the outskirts of bath, overlooking the city and how is this for a spiral staircase . Hundred 54 steps all the way to the top. At the time, it was built in 1887, William Beckford is to sit here and contemplate life and do his art history and his writing. It is on the at risk register along with 246 other places which have been named today. All these need urgent care and attention and we will find out more later in the programme. Lets take a look at the forecast. An uphill battle to find anything dry for any prolonged length of time. Friday, saturday, sunday, sunshine and was around in some will be heavy and thundery over the next few days and developing quite widely. That said, most places start the day drive. Temperatures below freezing in parts of eastern scotland. Not far off that in other parts. Southern counties of england, showers becoming heavier. Thunder. Developing further northwards and eastwards. Some parts good state dry. Wanted to avoid the showers altogether. Temperatures are similar to what they were yesterday. For most sitting in the teens. Usually, as we get showers, we start to see them fade away but that will not be them fade away but that will not be the case as we go through tonight. The showers keep going and develop more widely. You could have some showers bashing off the windows as you sleep tonight and it. The temperatures from dropping quite as much. We should not have a frost with temperatures in the low single figures. Either way, with temperatures in the low single figures. Eitherway, call with temperatures in the low single figures. Either way, call start with temperatures in the low single figures. It is here where totals could top up. Starting to feel cooler. Another feature is totals could top up. Starting to feel cooler. Anotherfeature is the strength of the wind. Up to 50 miles an hour along southern counties. By saturday, strong winds further north, still some showers developing through the day. The heaviest across northern scotland and maybe out towards the west. Potentially a slightly drier day for southern counties of england but cannot guarantee it. Temperatures in the lower double figures rather than the mid teens over the next few days. That is what the weather is looking like. We are inside beckfords tower but just take a like. We are inside beckfords tower butjust take a look like. We are inside beckfords tower but just take a look at what this stunning bit of architecture looks like from outside. I will be chatting about what it means to be on the at risk register. The shot of you on the staircase reminds me that halloween is around the corner. A sinister laugh, a genuinely sinister laugh stop it is eerie but beautiful. Angry clashes between politicians have become an all too familiar scene in the commons, as mps thrash out the twists and turns of brexit. A group of teenagers are now campaigning for a tougher code of conduct, and yesterday they went to meet Speakerjohn Bercow to try and enlist his support. Breakfasts tim muffett reports. They are to cowardly anger. Continuing to call a bill that this house has passed, a surrender bill, is deeply disrespectful. Frustration. This Prime Minister to talk about moral loss and morality is a disgrace the terms of our politics seems to have changed. And these five young people from Greater Manchester want to the nastiness. We have begun discussing the dehumanising language that politicians are using and not all of them obviously but a lot of them are and they are not being held to account. The whole base of this campaign is that if we were to do this, speak the way they speak, we would be faced with sanctions. How let down do you feel by politicians . Hugely and it is disappointing because they are supposed to represent us. They met through a charity called the reclaimer now 67,000 signatures on the petition to call for more respect in politics. Good morning to you. They have come to the speaker of the house of commons residence to get his support. If we acted like the way this politicians had been acting,. There is a balance between free speech, on the one hand, and good conduct on the other, it is not totally straightforward matter. Which sorts of words shocked or horrified or upset you. Words that we felt should have been kept in the past, like lynching. It was not language used in the chamber. My attitude is to ask colleagues to think of each other and of the reputation of the house. It should not be happening in this day and age and it does not represent us clearly and it does not represent us clearly and does not provide a suitable role model. The biggerfaction in our politics and think the only legitimate view is their own and anybody who disagrees with them should be denounced, treated rudely, you know, those people frankly need to be called out. How did you think that went . I felt frustrated. I com pletely that went . I felt frustrated. I completely understand he does not have a possible responsibility but he does have a responsibility to mediate and control how things are delivered within parliament. He supports our movement and what we are passionate about, however we did not get a confirmation of what he is going to do to help with that. John bercow has assigned their petition but these five young people wa nt petition but these five young people want a tougher code of parliamentary conduct introduced. Without it they feel respect in politics would have gone for good. Boris johnson feel respect in politics would have gone for good. Borisjohnson is supposed to be heading over to the eu summit today, trying to get a deal agreed but the problem is, who in the uk is going to agree with that. As we understand it, there is a d raft that. As we understand it, there is a draft treaty ready to go. All dependent upon politics in the uk and who will support it. Were getting a statement and the last minute from the dup, crucial, of course, to support the government might have. Some of the lines from a doctor we have been involved in ongoing discussions with the government. That is a crucial line. As things stand, we could not support what has been suggested on customs and consent issues and there isa customs and consent issues and there is a lack of clarity on vat. They also said they would continue to work with the government to get a sensible deal that works for Northern Ireland and protects the economic and constitutional integrity. The dup offers ten potential role to support the Prime Ministers deal and that also could help persuade those in his party have been resistant to a deal, if their agreement with what is happening with the Customs Union had been agreed but at the moment they are saying they could not support could not support what is been suggested. We will keep you right up to date. If we can do things quickly, we could slowly build this up but if we do not, we will then be facing a massive shortage. Its thursday 17 october. Our top story with just hours to go before a crucial eu summit, the dups Arlene Foster has issued a statement saying her party could not support what is being suggested on customs and consent issues. If any deal that is available is to get through the commons, we know from the eu that the draft treaty proposal is theoretically ready. The eu saying they could accept a deal with the uk. Well speak to our Political Correspondent helen catt. So just take us through the exact wording of this statement and what it means for borisjohnson. Wording of this statement and what it means for Boris Johnson. Yes, and we saw theresa mays deal hit the buffers at westminster, and it looks like westminster might be the Sticking Point again this time. And as you say, the dup, which has ten mps at westminster representing Northern Irish seats, has issued this statement saying that as things stand we could not support what is being suggested on customs and consent issues, and there is a lack of clarity on vat. Most of that relates to borisjohnsons proposals for a place in what was known as the backstop, so this is the backstop arrangement if a Free Trade Agreement cant be reached, which would mean you wouldnt have to put a hard border on the island of ireland. Originally Boris Johnson had been proposing Technical Solutions to try and stop having have customs checks. This appears to have customs checks. This appears to have changed in the negotiations to a political solution once again that the dup says it cannot accept. Then this idea of consent. What it means bya this idea of consent. What it means by a consent issue is that, to enter this political arrangement, it would see Northern Ireland following different rules to the rest of the uk on goods. In the dup, there is an issue about how Northern Ireland would agree to entering those arrangements, so the dup are saying that it would need the explicit support of both communities in Northern Ireland. So they have an issue with the mechanism that is being proposed for how Northern Ireland would agree to that. This is really important because the numbers here in parliament are really tight. And we have seen mps going in and out of downing street over the last few days as borisjohnsons team try to build a majority for any deal he brings back. They have had some quite positive noises from other groups who didnt back theresa mays deal, like the conservative backbenchers who wanted a hard brexit, for example, have been fairly positive, although they say they want to see the full legal text before they commit to backing any deal. But if you cant get the dup on side, it is difficult to see how he cried, quite get the numbers to get any deal over the line here. Take us back to the here and now, because there are 27 other european leaders awaiting borisjohnsons arrival, possibly in the next few hours. Is it conceivable he would go to brussels, knowing that he doesnt have the support of the dup . to brussels, knowing that he doesnt have the support of the dup . I think we would expect to see some more talks with the dup, although having said that, there have been several hours they have spent in downing street this week talking with the pm, with the pms team, to try and reach some sort of agreement. It would seem perhaps unlikely that he would seem perhaps unlikely that he would go without having them on board, so i think we will have to see what happens over the next few hours. But certainly we would expect to see more talks being held between the dup and number ten. Lets speak to our brussels reporter, adam fleming. The eu has said we dont have a problem, we have the Technical Agreement on paper. It is what you can do back home, mrjohnson. This throws the choreography for the summit which starts in the next few hours into jeopardy. In summit which starts in the next few hours intojeopardy. In an ideal world borisjohnson would come here maybe even before the summit to steal the deal, and all of the leaders would get together right at the beginning of the meeting and approve this revised brexit deal, then send it to westminster to be approved by mps, and then send it to strasbourg next week to be approved by the European Parliament. But that requires the uk government to have signed up to the deal that the two negotiating teams have come up with. And of course, the dup, saying what they have said this morning, seems to have put a spanner in the works. It is just worth saying that the negotiators have tried to address some of the dups concerns in this revised brexit deal. So for example, these customs checks which would ta ke these customs checks which would take place on goods going from Great Britain to Northern Ireland in the future, there would be exemptions to be agreed so that those checks could be agreed so that those checks could be kept to a minimum. And they have tried to create a consent mechanism, as helen was saying, for the stormont assembly, which has the potential for the Northern Ireland assembly to vote to come out of these arrangements. However, you can see why the dup might be concerned, because god is this idea of what we used to call the backstop, which is a sort of safety net, maybe it will happen, maybe it wont happen, maybe it will be replaced. The idea itself has been replaced with a new set of arrangements for Northern Ireland that could be permanent, if the Northern Ireland assembly wants it. And that is why this is such a Pivotal Moment for the dup, because this deal that has been negotiated and could be agreed to today could lead to a permanent settlement for Northern Ireland. So that is a big deal. Thanks very much, and i should explain, we have had these comments from the dup in the last ten minutes or so saying they cannot support what has been suggested when it comes to customs and consent issues. However, the statement also made very clear, from Arlene Foster and nigel dodds, we will continue to work with the government to try to get a sensible deal that works for Northern Ireland and protects the economic and constitutional integrity of the United Kingdom. Though talks are still going on. Around 10,000 protestors have taken to the streets in a third night of violent unrest in barcelona. We have tried to put some calls into them to find out what is happening. Maybe they cant call us. So if you are watching, give us a call. We wa nt we want to bring you right up to date this morning with the developmentjust in the last half hour. This is a statement from the dup saying it cannot support the Prime Ministers proposed brexit deal with the eu as things stand. Prime ministers proposed brexit deal with the eu as things standm has made clear it will try to continue to work with the government to get a sensible deal that works for Northern Ireland and protects the economic and constitutional integrity of the uk. Lets speak to the first Vice President of the European Parliament and irish mep mairead mcguinness, who joins us from Eu Parliament now. I must get your reaction first of all to the dups latest comments. Well, good morning to you, and i suppose this is a story which changes by the hour, and that statement is very clear, but also a little bit of concern. Because last night, and the negotiators worked through the night, we had dealt with theissue through the night, we had dealt with the issue of how stormont would have a say on the arrangements around the customs, that the uk sorry, Northern Ireland would remain in the Customs Union. That is quite difficult on the eve of the meeting. You have read the positive part of the statement is that the dup will continue to work with the government. But it is quite a dramatic statement, and i would be concerned at this stage. I have a lwa ys concerned at this stage. I have always been cautious. A lot has happened in a few days, and we were certainly making progress towards a Withdrawal Agreement. I am wondering now because this is all happening live, as i speak to you, whether there will be any draft legal text for the leaders to consider. And i think that is a difficulty, because the leaders will not involve themselves in the negotiations. They wa nt themselves in the negotiations. They want that to happen between the uk and the European Union, led by Michel Barnier on our side, and then they want to look at a draft legal text. I think the british Prime Minister is also looking to the house of commons on saturday to perhaps have a vote. These things look more difficult as we talk this morning. So i think it will put a little bit of a cloud over things here in brussels, and the rain had stopped. We had dreadful rain here yesterday, and certainly the statement will impact on the situation. The real issue is, if you get a Withdrawal Agreement and legal text, will the house of commons actually support it . And that has a lwa ys actually support it . And that has always been very clear from the eu leaders, as well. Tell us, you are someone leaders, as well. Tell us, you are someone who is there in the midst of this. What are you hearing in terms of how optimistic or how willing eu leaders are to have a meeting with borisjohnson, if leaders are to have a meeting with Boris Johnson, if there leaders are to have a meeting with borisjohnson, if there is still so much discord and lack of support for any potential deal at home . Well, this is a council meeting, so Boris Johnson will be coming to the council meeting. I expect that he would like to come to the meeting where all these issues are resolved. I think the European Union is aware of the difficulties in the uk around this issue. We have lived with it for some time now, from 2016. It is quite hard to understand that, at the end of 2019, we are still no closer to finalising an agreement, despite all of the negotiations, all of the effort. And the reason is that those who painted exit is a very simple process, a light switch moment, were wrong. Because it is not simple, and as you can see, it is not simple to get people to agree to things which are essential if we are to live up to commitments on both sides, particularly around the very sensitive issue of the invisible border on the island of ireland. So i think that leaders will want progress. I imagine they area will want progress. I imagine they are a little bit like me, wondering what is going to happen next, what can Boris Johnson do what is going to happen next, what can borisjohnson do or say . It would be strange and indeed very concerning if what was agreed around customs and the stormont issue were rolled back on at this stage. That would amount to a reopening of the entire package again, and really, i mean, iam entire package again, and really, i mean, i am at a loss even, a loss for words, to say what that would mean. It certainly would kick off timelines and deadlines and lead us into a very difficult situation. Is your impression that leaders have done everything they can to get the deal over the line . I think the European Union, including the leaders, have been really patient and understanding of the political dilemma but we also recognise that the uk voted to leave the European Union. I think what is difficult for all of us in this parliament is that we remain the closer to that happening and i repeat the point, even though people would not like to hear it, the reality of brexit was not spelt out and we are learning how complicated it is. We have to protect the interests of citizens both in the uk and the European Union and sensitive issues like the irish question and we know that consideration was not given to that but let me try to remain hopeful and see a way that perhaps the qp statement is not a fate a complete and we can find a way to reach an agreement that is essentially a first hurdle because as the European Parliament we have to ratify it and the house of commons and we will be looking closely to the numbers and the sounds coming from the house of commons where we are absolutely clear they will be a majority and certainly if the dup were to hold to its statement, it would be difficult to see a Withdrawal Agreement get over the line. Yesterday and late into the night, we thought things we re into the night, we thought things were moving. This morning it is a different. Perhaps by lunchtime it will be different tomorrow we may differently about what is happening but it is very much a live issue and a running story in brussels. You say youre being hopeful the discussions will continue and the dup said it will continue and the dup said it will continue and the dup said it will continue to work with the government to try and get a sensible deal that works with Northern Ireland and protects the constitutional integrity of the uk. Tell me, lets say borisjohnson leaves the uk today, arrives at the eu summitand leaves the uk today, arrives at the eu summit and the dup position has not changed by the time he meets the leaders, what is there to talk about . At first, the real concern we would have is one party cannot veto a deal. These are concerns of farmers, manufacturers in Northern Ireland who are concerned by a no deal brexit and wanting a close relationship. There is a concern of the view of one party is louder than the view of one party is louder than the rest. When you say, if the Prime Minister he will be here this morning i expect that we need to discuss a draft agreement. The fact that might not happen if this statement from the dup impacts on thatis statement from the dup impacts on that is nothing to do with the eu leaders. It is a uk having difficult getting consensus and i think it speaks to this bigger point that, over the years since the referendum, it has been impossible and i understand the difficulties for the house of commons to unite stop we met mps yesterday and their agendas are very different. They would like the uk to remain in the eu and i expect they would not mind a Withdrawal Agreement if we get over these other issues but the problem that has arisen because of the dup statement maybe is not a surprise but it will not help the process but it may not be the only problem we face in these negotiations and there isa face in these negotiations and there is a sense this morning of deja vu. We have had these moments and feelings before and it has not ended well. I am concerned we do not have a similar moment today but you are asking me what might happen and i do not think anybody knows. Leaders wa nt not think anybody knows. Leaders want progress, they cannot have this issue hanging on the agenda all the time. We have different issues to discuss in europe to try and resolve and this is a never ending one. Picking up on something you said, a lot of the focus has been on whether the dup will agree with the proposed d raft the dup will agree with the proposed draft but when it comes to the customs situation with Northern Ireland, what other problems can be anticipated or being looked out for . I think one of the problems. The first problem is that we need to get the vat issue sorted. I am not sure if something has happened but at 5am this morning there was no development. That in fact is part of the deal that is not fixed. What is worrying now is the two issues that are resolved may now be called into question because of the view of one party in Northern Ireland and not the majority in Northern Ireland and thatis the majority in Northern Ireland and that is the crux of the issue here. The other problem, if all things work out and there is a drafted legal text to consider, we look at the house of commons and we have had a difficult moments and votes and there was a sense in which the Prime Minister would like everything voted through on saturday. Wrinkly i think thatis through on saturday. Wrinkly i think that is big ask but that is because parliamentarians would want to look at the details. Frankly. Last night we move forward two steps and this morning it looks like we went back to. But lets try to rise our mood with the light rising outside but we also need to be realistic and pragmatic and to say to our uk colleagues, we need this to move. We need to have an end to the divorce settle m e nt need to have an end to the divorce settlement and that is only the first step. There is then a discussion on the future relationship and time. Way back, the clock has done the lap three times at this stage. The real pleasure to talk to you, especially as this news has been coming through. In the last 40 minutes or so, the dup have said that they could not support what has been suggested on customs and consent issues. We will have more throughout the programme on that breaking news. We have some gorgeous views to show you and matt is in the middle of them, at beckfords tower at bath. Good morning, this will get even better as it gets lighter. Take a look at what it looks like in a full daylight from the top of beckfords tower. A stunning neoclassical tower, built between 1885 and 1887. An important landmark here. In the uk we are very passionate about our built heritage but beckfords tower, like 247 other properties, have been placed on Historic England at risk registry. They need urgent care and attention to safeguard the survival. We will find out what can be done here in the next half hour. Looking at the forecast, at the moment it is not bad, a bit breezy and on the chilly side but today, and through to sunday, a story of sunshine and showers. Show is becoming more widespread as we go for today and tomorrow. All because of the low pressure. A bubbling part of showers. Show is becoming more widespread. Frost around for some of you but eastern scotland and england, you could stay dry all day. Elsewhere, showers in the south and west widening. A rather cool day but not far from what we have seen in the past few days. Usually, by note the past few days. Usually, by note the showers fade away but tonight they will keep going and start to spread to areas that avoid them through the day. Still on the heavyside for some adequately to surface water for tomorrows rush hour. The wind will be strong. Quite a windy day through southern counties of england especially and the channel islands. Showers just about anywhere through the day. Take something warm with you. If we can do things quickly, we could slowly build this up but if we do not, we will then be facing a massive shortage. Lets take a look at the travel situation now. London Northwestern Railway and Virgin Trains are suspended between watford junction and euston following signal problems near queens park. On the roads in bowes park , traffic on the a406 north circular is slow eastbound from bounds green road towards the works at palmerston road. This is the northbound traffic. Very slow as you can this is the northbound traffic. Very slow as you can see. This is the northbound traffic. Very slow as you can see. As you would expect this time in the morning. Now the weather with elizabeth rizzini. Good morning. Its feeling slightly cooler this morning, with temperatures in single figures across the board. Some beautiful autumn colours across the capital at the moment, but a lot of these leaves likely to be on the ground after the next couple of days. A windy spell of weather ahead, with plenty of blustery showers around today but also sunny spells. And lots of dry weather too, particularly so this morning. Weve got some arly mist patches. Its slightly milder towards the south east, with a bit more cloud here, but there will be some sunny spells developing just about everywhere. Not too long though before we start to see these showers track in, on a brisk south westerly wind. Some of the showers likely to be heavy. Top temperatures only between 12 15 celsius so cooler than it has been. Overnight, tonight, some clear spells, the showers will continue through the early hours and still very windy, especially in the south. Slightly milder than it was last night. Tomorrow windy, up to 30 40 Miles Per Hour and the chance of some showers. Im back with the latest from the bbc london newsroom in half an hour. Plenty more on our website at the usual address. Bye for now. Hello, this is breakfast, with Charlie Stayt and naga munchetty. Here is a summary of this mornings main stories from bbc news the Prime Ministers proposed brexit deal has suffered a setback this morning. In the past hour, the Democratic Unionist Party has said it cannot acccept the plans, as things stand. Borisjohnson is heading to brussels today for a crucial eu summit. The dup says it could not support what is currently proposed on customs and consent issues, but that it will continue to work with the government to try to get a deal that works for Northern Ireland. If a deal can be approved, it will go to a vote in parliament over the weekend. The dup would be key to the Prime Ministers chances of getting it passed, as the government does not have a parliamentary majority. It is quite hard to understand that, at the end of 2019, we are still no closer to finalising an agreement, despite all of the negotiations, all of the effort. And the reason is that those who painted brexit as a very simple process, a light switch moment, were wrong. Because its not simple, and as you can see, its not simple to get people to agree to things which are essential if we are to live up to commitments on both sides, particularly around the very sensitive issue of the invisible border on the island of ireland. One of our political correspondence, norman smith, understands that Boris Johnson is not due to have any more meetings with the dup today. In the next ten minutes we will be speaking to the secretary of state for housing, communities and local government. We will get his reaction to that breaking news in just a few minutes time. Around one in eight schools in england, wales and Northern Ireland do not have a library, with primaries less likely to have a dedicated reading space than secondary schools, according to a new study. Absolutely, and where we learn which players the respective head coaches really rely on. We are at the business end of the tournament. They were expected to get through the group phase and now were into the quarterfinals, and he has restored captain farrell to fly half in place of george ford. I wonder what the dynamic is between those two, because they are great friends. So eddiejones restoring owen farrell to his preferred position. Unfortunate perhaps for george ford, who has been one of englands standout players. Butjones going for the trio of farrell, tuilagi and slade that he preferred in the six nations. I think the great thing about the world cup is that each games just by itself, so whatever youve done in the past doesnt really affect what youre going to do on saturday. And what we do know on saturday is that were going to be well prepared for the game. Weve had a good physical prep, weve had a good tactical prep. The players are enjoying being injapan. Theyre ready to go, and we know australia will be the same, so thats going to be some sort of a game. The world of boxing is coming to terms with the death of another fighter. And, just because youre a world famous footballer, it doesnt mean that you get out of dressing up for your daughters birthday. Here is liverpool superstar mo salah all dressed up as a charachter from the disney film moana for his daughters fifth birthday. He did use the hashtag amazingfather in the tweet, so he is obviously pleased with his efforts. You cant disagree with him there. Did he call himself an amazing father . And this, for comparison, is what they were recreating a slightly different physique to salahs. But a lovely sort of grass skirt. A full wreath around the neck. I could see you in that, charlie. You didnt have to say that, spoil the whole thing. Have you dressed up for your little ones . I havent, yet. The time now is 7 40am. He is very good at telling the time, isnt he . In the last hour, the dup has said it cannot back the Prime Ministers proposed deal with the eu as things stand. The support of the party is crucial for parliament to approve Boris Johnsons plans so their rejection is a considerable blow for his brexit plans. So how is the government going to get the dup behind the deal . To read you a little bit of the statement, as things stand, we could not support what is being suggested on customs and consent issues, and there is a lack of clarity on vat. Lets speak to one of the Prime Ministers cabinet collagues, robertjenrick, secretary of state for housing. He is in westminsterfor us. Very much appreciate your time this morning. You will understand that i would like to ask you first about the dups statement, because it is happening as we speak. Can you give me your reaction . Well, look, we a lwa ys me your reaction . Well, look, we always knew these negotiations were going to be difficult and were going to go down to the line. We are working very intensively with the dup, with the European Union, and other partners, to try to secure a deal. So a very sensitive moment in the negotiations, but we remain, i think, cautiously optimistic that because the parties still want to get a deal, there is a way through this. But the Prime Minister is going to be working as hard as he possibly can in the hours to come to try to bring people together, forge a consensus, and move forwards. borisjohnson meeting the dup this morning . Well, the dup were in downing street last night. You will have seen Arlene Foster walking into number ten yesterday evening. They have been intensive negotiations, i am sure those will be continuing in the hours to come. All sides, i think, in this now want to secure a deal. Just a week or two ago people we re deal. Just a week or two ago people were saying that the Prime Minister wasnt serious about getting a deal. That proved to be completely untrue. He has been working extremely hard, he had that very productive meeting with leo varadkar a week or so ago and now we have to try and hammer out these final but very important issues around consents and around customs so that we can both answer the legitimate concerns of the republic of ireland that there isnt a hard border and infrastructure around the border in Northern Ireland, so that we can respect the good friday agreement and the Northern Ireland peace process, but the integrity of the United Kingdom remains intact, and the whole of the uk, including Northern Ireland, leaves the eus customs territory as one. That is our objective. I believe that as possible, but there is clearly a considerable amount of work to be done in the hours to come. I understand this has only happened in the last 45 minutes or so, but i come back to my question. It is absolutely true what you say, and looking at the dups statement, they say we will continue to work with the government to try and get a sensible deal. Ijust want with the government to try and get a sensible deal. I just want to establish a simple fact. Will there be meetings this morning between borisjohnson be meetings this morning between Boris Johnson and be meetings this morning between borisjohnson and the dup . Be meetings this morning between Boris Johnson and the dup . Well, i dont know the exact arrangements for the next few hours, but be assured that the Prime Minister and his team are in intensive negotiations with all parties, including with the dup. And we want to provide sufficient comfort for the dup and for unionists in Northern Ireland to feel that the arrangements that we would put in place with this deal are sufficient to give them comfort to support it. Because we want to ensure that, unlike the last deal that the former Prime Minister put forward, that people in Northern Ireland feel that there is sufficient democratic consent for these arrangements that they can move forward, and that no one is ever subject to things, rules and regulations, for which there is no democratic consent to. But we know there are clearly concerns on the part of the dup, and we wa nt concerns on the part of the dup, and we want to try and work through those productively in the hours to come. And i think it is possible all sides in this do want to secure an orderly exit from the European Union, and orderly exit from the European Union, and i think one is within sight, although clearly there are very significant issues to be hammered out. As things stand, will the Prime Minister travelled to meet the other 27 leaders of the eu under the current circumstances, as things stand . I expect the premise that will go to the European Council meeting in brussels stop that is what he would do ordinarily, of course, go to other european leaders to that meeting but his priority at the moment is continuing to talk with partners from the European Union and back here at home to try and get this deal done because we fundamentally believe that the country needs to move forward, we need to secure that deal so we can live in a good, orderly, amicable way that preserves all the relationships we care about at home and abroad and then the country can move on was about issues, whether it is education, housing, health service, transport. It is an important point to make. And get the deal done and move on. On that issue, various announcements have been made in connection to housing, which is one of the things people ca re which is one of the things people care most about. We want to help more people of the housing ladder and one of the big barriers to doing thatis and one of the big barriers to doing that is trying to save up enough money to get a deposit so one way of helping is through what is called a shed ownership, established scheme whereby you can buy a small chunk of your property and then, as your circumstances allow, staircase up, bya circumstances allow, staircase up, by a bit more and slowly build up ownership of your property. We are extending the right to that to all the new social houses that are going to be built by Housing Associations in this country so that people, particularly younger people and those on lower incomes, can have a good quality, secure accommodation when they are renting, but if circumstances when they are renting, but if ci rcu msta nces allow when they are renting, but if circumstances allow they can start to own a part of that and build a real sta ke to own a part of that and build a real stake in society because, as conservatives, we want to build a country where as many people as possible feel they have a real share and a real stake in society. A lot of people would welcome these announcements but at the same time say there are groups of people for whom homeownership seems like it has got further and further away, almost no matter what government has been in power. The issue is real and successive governments frankly have not done enough. I think you are right that Home Ownership feels like an unattainable aspiration for a lot of young people, people in my generation and younger. We need to change that. Were doing a number of different things, we are building more homes stop this year it looks like we will have more homes completed. We are trying to make the Planning System improve, browning symptoms use. A new announcement today on a shed ownership. And there is more we can do and, also, because there are millions of People Living in rented accommodation, who we must look after as well, we want to make sure that councils can build more council houses. We have lifted the so that councils can do that. In particular, families need to know they can live in good quality, safe, secure accommodation which, as you say, maybe for a very long time because not everybody can get on the housing ladder but housing is a real priority for this government because it is so fundamental to all of us. It is about investing in the future, looking after your family, putting down roots in a community and we need to get this right. Thank you very much for your time this morning. This morning, as close as were going to get from the government. A statement from the dup say they cannot support the deal on brexit as it stands. We will keep you updated. Lets get a gorgeous view in bath, where matt is, at beckfords tower and it obviously gives a great view but it is on some kind of danger list or at risk list . It certainly is. A well known landmark but it is on Historic England at risk category along with 236 other properties. To tell us a bit more, joining me is Rebecca Barrett from Historic England. Explain what that at risk registry means . It is published its year and it isa means . It is published its year and it is a snapshot of the health of our historic environment. It includes sites, buildings that are vulnerable and need to be brought back into use. They get a bit of extra attention . Thats right. It is simplya extra attention . Thats right. It is simply a tool to focus attention on those sites most in need. Beckfords tower is one of 237 added to the registrar but more than a hundred have been removed thanks to the dedication and imagination of so many people and organisations up and down the country. Thank you very much. It is a bit chilly appear at the moment. As far as the weather is concerned, it is a little bit chilly. Temperatures close to freezing for many. But the forecast for today and indeed through friday, saturday and sunday as well, sunshine and heavy showers. Some on the sundry side. The reason we have all that is because Blood Pressure is moving in from the west. It is currently centred to the west of ireland, a big public pot of showers. You cannot exactly guarantee they will be on one spot at any time. Most of you start the day dry. Some mist and fog around. Temperatures below freezing through parts of eastern scotland in particular. Showers present northwards and eastwards through the day. They could cause a few flooding issues. Lots of surface water where you see the showers. Parts of eastern scotland could stay dry all day long. Temperatures at around eastern scotland could stay dry all daylong. Temperatures at around 12 16 degrees. Usually by evening and overnight, as the sun drops, we see the showers fade away but that is not the case as the low pressure system not the case as the low pressure syste m m oves not the case as the low pressure system moves right and spread to areas that may even avoid the showers today. A cloud and breeze and not quite as chilly tomorrow. It should be frost free. Tomorrow, the strength of the wind will add to that shell particularly south wales and southern counties of england. Add to the shell. Chill. More showers across the northern half of scotla nd showers across the northern half of scotland on saturday and this is where the windiest weather will be stop temperatures will drop a little bit and the cooler continue with showers coming into sunday as well. The way that light is hitting you, stunning. Keep turning. Keep turning. Keep going. Ok. Best view lovely picture. Were talking about retirement plans this morning. The idea that we actually have no concept of what we need to save today. We all think it is going to wonderful but sometimes it is not always the case. Good morning to you. Yes, its pretty confusing. Many of us just dont know how much we should be saving now to get the lifestyle we want when we retire. So the industry has come up with a guide. It suggests three different lifestyles and how much money your pension will need to pay out each year to get you that. Of course, there are a lot of different factors the age you start saving, how much you save, and how well your pension provider invests the money. But for the minimum level, one that covers all your bills, with a bit left over youd need about £10,000 a year. The state pension is around £8,700 a year and with a basic work pension on top, you should get that £10,000. But what does that get you . Well, it says you couldnt afford a car, youd spend less on food and you could probably have one uk holiday a year. So, if youre aiming for a bit more the moderate standard of living youd need around £20,000 a year. Lets speak about gas. Good morning. Three clear levels of maybe attainment, something to aim for but it is very confusing. This market is notoriously complicated to know what we should be saving. Give us a sense of who should be at these levels. The good news is, a person with a full state pension record and saves at the set minimum level, 8 of salary, they would get themselves into a middle point between the minimum and the moderate level. If it isa minimum and the moderate level. If it is a couple, because costs are shed, to people s working with a full state pension level, they should get to the moderate level. Many will be surprised by what you may not get. The reality is different to a lovely retirement . That is the case. The starting point is youre going to be above the 10,000 but the thing to do is to try and pitch to your future, think about what you want in retirement and then the pension schemes and the services can help you work out what to do and whether you need to save some more. Give us to do and whether you need to save some more. Give us a sense to do and whether you need to save some more. Give us a sense of what we need to save. To get that out, how much roughly should people be thinking of saving as a proportion of their salary . It is complicated and a lot depends on how old you are and a lot depends on how old you are and what you earn. A full pension record, which you get by working or looking after children, 40 plus yea rs, looking after children, 40 plus years, at 8 automatic level, a Single Person will get halfway between minimum and moderate. Many people cant afford to go higher. 8 of your gross salary. That is a very basic level and you want to go a bit higher to get the nice stuff in retirement. That happens automatically anyway. Most of us are doing that already but the question is if you want to do anything on top. Thank you for explaining that because it is notoriously complicated. Some good advice. What i will do complicated. Some good advice. What iwill do in complicated. Some good advice. What i will do in the next hour, look at the three network issue. A busy morning. Good morning from bbc london. Im victoria hollands. Extinction rebellion activist are protesting at a few stations. One man was pulled from the top of a train. Others have glued themselves toa train. Our main story the Prime Ministers proposed brexit deal has suffered a setback this morning. The Democratic Unionist Party has said within the last hour it cannot acccept the plans as things stand. Borisjohnson is heading to brussels today for a crucial eu summit. Well get the latest from our brussels correspondent adam fleming injust a moment but first, lets speak to our Political Correspondent helen catt in westminster. Correspondent this correspondent news coming through, although the this news coming through, although the dup has said it is still willing to talk, this must be seen as a significant blow. We have seen the dup and other key groups of mps going in and out of downing street, having hours of talks as the Prime Ministerand having hours of talks as the Prime Minister and the team try to get them onside with any deal, this morning very clear they are not at the point of being on board and their concerns relate to the back up arrangements that have been negotiated for what happens if a future trade deal cannot avoid a ha rd future trade deal cannot avoid a hard border on the island of ireland. These new back up political arrangements that kick in would effectively keep Northern Ireland, following eu rules much more closely than the rest of the uk. One of the key thing is proposed by Boris Johnson was a way of giving Northern Ireland communities a say on whether or not to continue those. The dup has an issue with the mechanism negotiated which is not the one that borisjohnson put negotiated which is not the one that Boris Johnson put forward, negotiated which is not the one that borisjohnson put forward, under the one negotiated, that would give just a simple vote of the Northern Ireland assembly, the power to decide whether to keep these rules going and the dup concern is that may mean nationalist could keep Northern Ireland more tied to the eu than they would want indefinitely. Nationalists. It is a blow but the government says that talks are ongoing, they have not quite closed the door. We always knew these negotiations would be difficult, we knew they would go down to the line. We are working very intensively with the dup, with the European Union, and with other partners, to try to secure a and with other partners, to try to secure a deal. Very sensitive moment in the negotiations, we remain cautiously optimistic that because the party still wants to get a deal, there is a way through this. The Prime Minister is going to be working as hard as he possibly can, in the hours to come, to try to bring people together, forge a consensus, and move forwards. The dup says it wants to keep working with the government to find what it calls a sensible deal for Northern Ireland, we expect to see a lot more flurry of talks this morning. Indeed. Lets speak now to our brussels reporter, adam fleming. Give us a sense of how this latest twist, this dup statement, they cannot support what is on the table right now, how does that affect things . Potentially messes up the planned timetable for today, in an ideal world, boris planned timetable for today, in an idealworld, borisjohnson planned timetable for today, in an ideal world, borisjohnson would come to brussels around lunchtime, meet the 27 other leaders of the eu countries and they would agree this revised brexit deal. Then send it on its way to westminster to be approved by mps at the weekend and send it to the European Parliament to be approved by meps next week. That is now thrown intojeopardy. The eu have been here before with theresa may, december, 2017, almost the exact same thing happen, and they knew that there was not guaranteed support for this deal in the uk. They were prepared for it and try to address it in advance by making some tweaks to the brexit deal, for example the customs checks that would be done on goods going from Great Britain to Northern Ireland would have some exemptions agreed so they would be kept to a minimum. There is a consent mechanism which means the Northern Ireland assembly could vote to leave the arrangements at some point in the arrangements at some point in the future, put into the new deal to please, satisfy, reassure the dup, and the Unionist Community at large in Northern Ireland. The one thing the eu is not prepared to sign up to is one of the dups big demands, that the Northern Ireland assembly gets to have a veto, a vote, a say, over whether these arrangements come into force at all. The eu are not prepared to give them that. Now the eu is looking for what safety valves it has. This is a two day summit, could everything be moved back a day . Could you have a situation where 27 eu leaders agree their side of the bargain and then give Boris Johnson, the uk, a bit more time to agree there is, then we come back to what the rumours have been all week, will there be an emergency summit next week to tidy all this up . Very good, we will keep in touch with you. Developing story, is what we can say this morning. That statement from the dup, in the last hour or so, saying, as it stands, they cannot support what has been suggested on customs and consent issues. We will keep you across any developments this morning. Movement in london, Extinction Rebellion activists protesting at a number of tube stations this morning, British Transport Police reporting disruption at at least three stations in east london. Video shared on social media appears to show a number of activists climbing onto a train at shadwell station, commuters have been seen dragging protesters from the roof of a train at canning town station. Do not get in the weight of the commute. Arrests have already been made and officers are working quickly to resume services. Another story affecting a lot of people this morning, this problem with the phone network, three. Bens got the latest on this. Finally, confirmation from the country kompa ny that finally, confirmation from the country kompany that there is a major problem, we have been waiting eight hours for this, we have a one line statement curre ntly looking into an issue with the network, we would like to apologise to customers for any inconvenience. The main network, what often happens is that other networks use a bit of the space. Confirmation from the company. Smarty, they rent a bit of space, their statement, they call it a severe technical issue, and what we are seeing, loads of us getting in touch with us, belfast, cardiff, anglesey, sheffield, manchester, london, nottingham. So little information, this, their twitter support page, last updated in early september, looking through to the help pages, it will take you to another site, their help pages, it will take you to anothersite, their main help pages, it will take you to another site, their main website, which is actually not working at all, they say they are down for routine maintenance and therefore not able to offer any help. Some suggesting it might be a move to sg, we know that a lot of mobile phone dividers are doing that. That was thought to be behind some of the problem is that vodafone had earlier in the week. Nonetheless, this has been going on since midnight, so many people getting in touch. Well, josh says, down since 11 30pm, he is in burnley, working nights, wouldnt mind. Is in burnley, working nights, wouldnt mind. And is in burnley, working nights, wouldnt mind. And this goes to your point, wouldnt mind but no communication. Unable to make emergency calls or get in touch with people they needed to. I statement would have been helpful. Just one line from the company, looking into an issue with the network. Some have said they can use their phones. Some find that the bars at the top of the screen find that the bars at the top of the screen comeback but you are still not able to use it, some say they are getting back online, some say turning it off and on again has helped. Thank you very much. The labourmp, Dame Louise Ellman, has quit the party after 55 years, saying thatjeremy corbyn is not fit to be Prime Minister. The Childrens Book the gruffalo is being celebrated on a new set of 50p coins. The story written byjulia donaldson, was First Published 20 yea rs donaldson, was First Published 20 years ago. The new coins, produced by the royal mint, will not be entering general circulation, they are available for collectors to buy, there is a special gold gruffalo coin, it is a snip at £980 this morning ourjob is to keep you up to date with what is happening in relation to brexit. You will know that today was the day that Boris Johnson was supposed to be going to brussels, to meet the other 27 european leaders. This morning, the dup, crucial to the votes in the uk, have rejected the votes in the uk, have rejected the potential deal, saying they could not support what is being suggested. Why is that important . The Prime Minister is likely to need the support of the dup, and then, former conservative mps who lost the whip last month, voting to block no deal. One of them joins us now. Thank you for joining one of them joins us now. Thank you forjoining us. I have got to get your reaction, the latest line from the dup, not being able to support it in its latest form. The important line is in its current form, it is clear that the dup are staying in contact with the talks and continuing to work with the government, which is what we would all want at this stage, they are entitled to represent their interests and the constituents interests, but it is really important that we make progress, so this does not go on forever. I do hope the dup will be able to come to a realisation, and ensure that the deal gets a chance to be put to parliament and hopefully pass, if it is the right deal. Pretty late in the day for the dup to come out with this. I do not have any formal dealing with them, you would have to ask them about that. Everybody knew that, sadly, these things were likely to come down to the wire, peoples bargaining positions are increased when you get to this particular state. One of the reasons for passing the so called ben act, recently, was to make sure that everyone realised that there was a deadline coming up, and that people should work towards it and we have seen negotiations accelerate in the last two or three weeks to get toa the last two or three weeks to get to a position where a deal seems possible. I hope therefore that we can continue with that and that we can continue with that and that we can make progress. Use it as an independent mp after losing the conservative whip, how would you vote if this deal is presented and there are so many ifs, if this deal is presented on saturday, to parliament, for debate . is presented on saturday, to parliament, for debate . I am inclined to vote for a deal that has been agreed by the uk government and 27 other states, i did so with theresa mays Withdrawal Agreement because i thought it was in the best interest of the country that we leave the eu but only with a deal. And i would expect to hold to that, like everyone else i got to see the details of the deal, but i would expect to do that. Because you want to see a deal go through, going back to see a deal go through, going back to the initial subject matter, the dup, they say they cannot support it, do you agree that without that support, looking at the numbers, this deal will not go through. That is the way it looks, because the dup have an influence on conservative colleagues who refused to support the previous Withdrawal Agreement made by the Prime Minister, and the other 27. The dup influence is actually quite strong. It is a collective issue for them to resolve, and that is why the dup position is so very important and the numbers are extremely tight and if that support is not there, it makes a deal likely and therefore we get into an extension period and this would all go on. Im not sure the country can stand it, we want to leave on an orderly fashion, that is the manifesto on which i stood, i still believe it is possible, it is the right thing for the uk to pursue. You are no longer a conservative mp but i presume that you are still in touch with many of yourformer you are still in touch with many of your former conservative colleagues and mp5, what is the mood like in the party when it comes to division and coming together on brexit, and generalfatigue, like you and coming together on brexit, and general fatigue, like you say, and coming together on brexit, and generalfatigue, like you say, the public is sick of this, they want a deal, you say, what is the mood like in the conservative party . First and foremost, we are all professional, does not matter about the degree of fatigue, still have to keep our minds on what is best for the country as a whole. That is what we are here for. We will work through this, we appreciate we have a very important responsibility given to us by the people, we are a citizens assembly, that is what i parliament is, we are having to work through this. The mood in the party varies, goes up and down with what we hear about the arrangements being made. As faras many about the arrangements being made. As far as many colleagues are concerned, we have been pretty together in the last couple of days. When it seems possible we might be able to make some movement, i was speaking yesterday to one or two members of the european reform group, a group with which i have not been very much in contact over the years because our views differ strongly, i would years because our views differ strongly, iwould rather we years because our views differ strongly, i would rather we were not in this position at all, i voted to remain in the European Union. I have worked through this, i think that is the democratic decision people have made. The last few days, is the chance of getting a deal seems likely, it has brought people closer together. What is the opinion of borisjohnson at together. What is the opinion of Boris Johnson at the together. What is the opinion of borisjohnson at the moment, because last year, he told the dup, speaking at the conference, he said no british conservative government could or should stand up to regulatory checks and customs controls on the irish sea. Now, we see they are objecting to this, he said he would die in a ditch rather than ask for an extension, a technical extension. It appears he is having to go back on these pretty strong statements. Does the conservative party, do the mp5, do you trust borisjohnson . Conservative party, do the mp5, do you trust Boris Johnson . Yes. I have met the Prime Minister to talk about the deal, and i am perfectly convinced he wants one. But if youre going to make a deal, it means sometimes, you may well have to go back on things. That is why sometimes it is better not to say things during the process of negotiations, because you find yourself pinned on things you might have said in the past. What he has tried to do is be involved in a negotiation, that means concessions either way. When people have said overtime, either way. When people have said over time, the either way. When people have said overtime, the eu will either way. When people have said over time, the eu will never budge on anything, all their fault, we have seen them try to get a deal. The situation we are in today, the eu and the British Government seem close to a deal but part of the United Kingdom cannot quite get there yet. It has been a process, any Prime Minister, anyone involved ina any Prime Minister, anyone involved in a negotiation may have to go back on certain things in order to get a deal finally on the line. This is the most complex thing we have done in peace time probably for a century. Alistair burt, independent mp, thank you for talking to us today on breakfast. If you want a break from some of the complicated issues to do with brexit, have a look at this instead. Matt is at beckfords tower in bath. Simple things to enjoy. Overlooking the beautiful city of bath, if you wa nt the beautiful city of bath, if you want to know where i am, take a look at this, i am on the roof of beckfords tower, built in 1827, for William Beckford. Now, he used to live in bath, this was his daily retreat, he would hop on his horse, he would trot all the way up here and spend the day overlooking the city, he would refer to this cheekily as his garden shed this place, like 246 other places around england have been put on Historic Englands at risk register this year, in that they need urgent work done, care and attention, to safeguard future survival. Not all bad news, 301 places left the register this year. Maybe we are looking after places that little bit better. Here, the big problem is the rain, water getting in. Taking a look at the forecast, more of that to come over the next few days. Its not going to be a case of persistent rain through the coming days, but the headline there, for thursday, could easily read for saturday, sunday, friday, story of sunshine and showers, shower is becoming heavy and thundery at times. It is because of an area of low pressure out to the west of ireland, a bubbling pot of shower cloud, bowing up a bubbling pot of shower cloud, popping up here, there, everywhere, moving in towards us and will affect us over the coming days. At the moment, most places dry, pretty cold start of the day, mist and fog. It is freezing in parts of eastern scotland, showers on the go in southern counties of england and wales and other parts of the western uk. Through the day, with developing breeze, pushing their way a little bit further north and east, may not reach parts of north east england, you could stay dry throughout, but wherever you are , you could stay dry throughout, but wherever you are, a little on the cool side, temperatures 13 to 15 degrees for many. By evening and overnight, usually showers fading away, not tonight, low pressure syste m away, not tonight, low pressure system moves in, though showers not only come in, but some of the showers remain on the heavy side. Service alter around for the friday morning rush in places. While it will be chilly as far as temperatures are concerned, still low single figures, and an added breeze. Southern counties of indian, south wales, to go with the showers, stronger winds, touch and go false, if you manage to avoid the showers, cannot guarantee you will tomorrow, showers will become even more widespread, with some thunder and feeling cool in the afternoon then it will this afternoon. Into saturday, temperatures dropping, strongest wind on saturday will be the northern half of the uk, particularly northern scotland. Frequent and prolonged showers. Something drier further south, may be at times, even here, not immune to showers. Temperatures lower, continuing with cool and showery steam into sunday as well. Dont go away just dont go awayjust yet, i know that this list of sites has been revealed, by Historic England, which could be at risk because of neglect, you have been taking a look around where you are. Gorgeous spiral staircase, why do you think, what is the problem, what is the common theme, is it that there is no money . Not enough interest . theme, is it that there is no money . Not enough interest . I think it is because there is so many of them and dont forget, the way things were built in the past, they do fade into time. The big problem here is that pa rt of time. The big problem here is that part of the building was made with wood and iron, it has not been able to withstand the depth of time. The only spending on it, we know there isa only spending on it, we know there is a limited amount of money available these days. By putting it on the at risk register, it brings certain organisations together to get focused in a positive way on these places and ensure they survive rather than fall into dilapidation. Great to be able to see one of those gorgeous buildings, thank you very much. Commuters have been clashing with Extinction Rebellion activist at a number of tube stations in east london this morning. We have been showing you pictures which appear to showing you pictures which appear to show protest is being pulled from the roofs of trains by angry commuters. Lets get the latest now, Richard Lister is at canning town. Tell us what has happened. This happened just before seven oclock, canning town station here, the underground train affected was knocked in a tunnel, it was not below ground, it was above ground, on the jubilee line, and just before 7am, one protester put a ladder up against the train and climbed up it, and another climbed onto the roof of the train as well. These two protesters unfurled a banner, on the top, identifying themselves as Extinction Rebellion. At that point, things got a bit nasty. A number of commuters on the train got out of the train, one or two started throwing things, a lot of people we re throwing things, a lot of people were hurling abuse at these protesters. Nevertheless, they stayed up there for 20 minutes before one of the passengers on the platform reached up, grabbed one of the protest is by the leg, and pulled him from the roof of the train. Occupys. Another protester got another passenger got onto the train and chased him down the traina the train and chased him down the train a little way until they both came off the top of the train. And at that stage, station staff were starting to restore order. Not before a number of the people on the platform appeared to be beating up one of the protesters that had been pulled off the roof of the train, he looked quite shaken, in the video that i have seen, that Extinction Rebellion was putting on facebook and streaming live. Station staff we re and streaming live. Station staff were trying to restore order, asking people to move back away from the guy who was apparently being beaten up. Metropolitan police say there has been four arrests. Things are moving normally at canning town, slight delays on the jubilee line. London underground has 5 million passenger movements a day. This is clearly a busy time of day, and the potential for disruption is quite large. As you explain, we were looking at the images. We need to bea looking at the images. We need to be a little cautious over what we can determine but you describe the events, what appears to have happen, very accurately you describe them. This is a difficult escalation, we have seen plenty of clashes between protesters and police, people being removed before. This feels a little different. Well, it does, Extinction Rebellion would argue that what they are trying to do is raise consciousness about the message that they are trying to promote, and this sort of action is guaranteed to bring Television Cameras out to get Police Attention and so on. Certainly, the Legal Framework is different now. The metropolitan police a couple of days ago declared all Extinction Rebellion Group Protests are legal, anyone taking part in them can be immediately arrested. Police have been moving very quickly to try to ensure that this kind of thing does not happen. Extinction rebellion say this was going to be two weeks of protest, we are not quite into two weeks, they have a few more days of planned protest, they are determined to continue. Police have put them unnoticed notice, anyone taking pa rt unnoticed notice, anyone taking part will be arrested. More than 1600 people have been arrested. I think the stand offs will continue. For the moment, thank you very much. We will keep you up to date with that and what is happening ahead of the eu summit. Three words you will hear a lot over the next few days, sunshine and showers, and thats because of the low pressure around the western around the low pressure we have a few weather fronts but a lot of showers and you can see from the satellite imagery quite a swell of cloud but its working east, so while there are showers ahead of that across the uk through the morning we will see more as we go through the next few days so sunshine and showers today and it will be quite breezy for many of us, especially around Western Areas and you can see the location of the showers this morning, mainly across southern and western parts of the uk but further east it looks dry with sunshine for most of the day but some showers creeping up here as we go through the afternoon and into the evening and some of the showers are particularly heavy, merging together to give longer spells of rain around the western coasts and temperature is about 13 up to 15 degrees. The showers will continue to drift in north and east tonight and some of the showers could be quite heavy going into the early pa rt quite heavy going into the early part of friday morning but again it could be quite chilly for some of us and temperatures down to single figures, may be double figures across the far south east of england. But throughout friday, here we go again, sunshine and showers for much of the day and showers again toward southern and Western Areas, quite frequent and heavy and the odd rumble of thunder and the further east you are, fewer showers, a bit ofa further east you are, fewer showers, a bit of a chilly day tomorrow with temperatures down at about 12 or 14 degrees. This area of low pressure is still with us as we go through the weekend and will continue to drift eastwards and more showers expected on saturday and more in northern and eastern parts and by sunday they should be fewer showers and just that little bit of dryness but it will be chilly as we go into the weekend. That is all from me. Goodbye. This is worklife from bbc news, with Sally Bundock and karin giannone. Fresh doubts about a Brexit Agreement send the pound tumbling, as warnings mount about the consequences of no deal for the Business World. Live from london, thats our top story on thursday 17th october.
