Tweets. With me is iain anderson, founder of the International Communications agency, cicero group. Now i must be careful because if i use the name of the amazon assistant, it sets them off. I apologise if that has happened to you this morning to lets get straight into the newspapers. An angry session in the Uk Parliament as they reconvened. Angry, fiery and as they reconvened. Angry, fiery and a real sense of mps feeling almost emboldened now. Repeated calls to the Prime Minister to resign. The worst and most acrimonious session of parliament i have ever watched andi of parliament i have ever watched and i have been watching parliament for a very long time and mps almost screaming at each other. And the Prime Minister doubling down on his view that a legal challenge to his shuttering of parliament, the corroding as it is known, was, in his view, wrong. It was notjust the Prime Minister yesterday who said that, cabinet members were lining up to make that point that in their view they respect what the Supreme Court has said but they believe that the ruling was wrong. This has incensed and already incendiary situation and frankly between now and the end of october, the language, if we thought it could not get any worse, is probably likely to become much worse. As reflected on the front page of the daily mirror where they refer, to that mention of jo cox, the mp who was stabbed. She was murdered during the referendum campaign, such was the frenzy of discourse whipped up during that campaign. And many mps say they now fearfor campaign. And many mps say they now fear for their safe. They have campaign. And many mps say they now fearfor their safe. They have had Death Threats and threats made against theirfamilies. Death threats and threats made against their families. And they we re against their families. And they were urging a toning down of this really infla m matory were urging a toning down of this really inflammatory language. This the daily mail mirror is no supporter of Boris Johnson. It the daily mail mirror is no supporter of borisjohnson. It is very much a left leaning newspaper. But actually since he kind of responded to those comments in the commons yesterday by dismissing them asa humbug, commons yesterday by dismissing them as a humbug, actually some important centre right commentators have been pretty queasy about the way in which he has gone about this. But also, i detect a bit of dissent amongst his own ventures over the way he is handling this as well. Cabinet minister ina handling this as well. Cabinet minister in a very late night tweet last night saying that all politicians need to be very careful about their language. It is notjust those sitting in front of him that oui those sitting in front of him that our incensed, i also detected there are quitea our incensed, i also detected there are quite a lot of concern within his own government and within his own supporters as to the kind of language that he is using. own supporters as to the kind of language that he is using. If we turn to the front page of Financial Times it refers to the fact that in a defiant tone the Prime Minister was setting out the election that he wa nts was setting out the election that he wants and i think this is what some people fear would cause even more division, if it pitted people against the parliament. He repeated the idea that the establishment elite is trying to scupper wrecks it completely. Look, scupper wrecks it completely brexit. Look, Boris Johnson said he did not want an election and then threw away his majority by expelling 21 members of his own party. And then said he does wa nt his own party. And then said he does wantan his own party. And then said he does want an election. This has been a deliberate strategy to create a headline and the Financial Times has effectively played back to everyone this morning, a People Versus Parliament election. And in a way, forjohnson, the more angry and more intemperate, the more sheltie parliament looks in his view, the better for parliament looks in his view, the betterfor him parliament looks in his view, the better for him because parliament looks in his view, the betterfor him because it parliament looks in his view, the better for him because it was this Remainer Parliament that is blocking, locking brexit. Now it is a gamble and borisjohnson is a gambler. He has been a political gambler. He has been a political gambler all his life. But unless he can secure the deal with the European Union by the end of dover, and he may be able to do this and that really is his get out ofjail ca rd that really is his get out ofjail card here. That if he cannot and we are still in the eu as we go into november, well, the brexit party will be riding high in the polls. It causes a difficulty for him. It is a gamble. This time of year, Party Political conferences in the uk dominate the political pages. One story from the Labour Party Conference on the front page of the daily telegraph, this notion of scrapping all controls on immigration, so described by the paper. And i was at the Labour Party Conference paper. And i was at the labour party c0 nfe re nce over paper. And i was at the Labour Party Conference over the weekend and i am going to the conservative Party Conference in manchester next but normally this story in any normal environment, if there is anything like that any longer, would be absolutely huge. Basically an policy from labour on immigration. The tories are responding at the back end of the story saying that that is not actually what british people want. But a pledge to create an open door policy on immigration, that was not even in labour manifesto in 2017. They spoke about control immigration. It is a complete about face by the labour party and if there was no row in parliament this would be the bigger story to discuss today. A big story that affect us all, the changing environment, the changing climate that we hear so much about and this striking image on the front of the figaro, a lone house. This is a classic news moment where a picture speaks a thousand words. I dont know whether this picture is in france. My assumption is that it is but it highlights the Intergovernmental Panel on climate change, the un body s latest report, pointing out that rising sea levels make the Climate Emergency much more evident and people will look at that on their breakfast table this morning and around the world and maybe it is the important wake up call that world and maybe it is the important wa ke up call that everybody world and maybe it is the important wake up call that everybody needs. Rain at times coming our way over the next few days, with some fairly strong wind around at times as well. Now, looking at the satellite picture, weve got some shower clouds heading our way for today. This area of cloud, just to the north, is going to be bringing some rain across parts of the uk on friday, and then as i spin right the way across towards the other side of the atlantic, well, weve got this juicy looking cloud, quite a deep area of low pressure thats going be bringing some wet and windy weather for some of us as we head into this weekend. So rain will continue to be blown our way. Now at the moment weve got some rain crossing the country. It will tend ease across the west with showers following. The winds continue to pick up as well. So its becoming increasingly blustery, particularly around the coast and hills. Its a mild start of the day, with temperatures around 11 15 degrees. Once the sun is up, the rain still with us initially, will clear away from england and scotland, in the showers really do start to pack in. Now, for Northern Ireland and scotland, the showers will probably tend to merge together to give some lengthier spells of rain at times. And things will begin to get a little bit cooler across the north as well. Therell be some bigger gaps between the showers in southern and eastern parts of england, but no one is immune from seeing an odd heavy downpour. And through thursday night those showers will continue to rattle in as well with those brisk south westerly Winds Continuing to push the showers in, particular into western coast and hills. Temperatures then through thursday night, between around nine and 13 degrees, and then for friday, well, weve got further showers swinging our way. The showers will tend to most together to give some longer spells of rain. And this time its properly most likely across england and wales. But there will be plenty of showers for scotland and Northern Ireland. It will continue to be quite gusty as well, gusts of wind running in at around 30 110 mph across the south of the uk. And the temperatures continue to slowly slump. So highs of around 1a or 15 degrees for scotland and Northern Ireland. Even turning a bit cool across the south east. Now this weekend we do have some heavy rain and some strong winds on the way, thanks to that area of low pressure i showed you a moment ago. But the northward extent of where that lows going could change a little bit before we actually get to the weekend. But here it comes, through the weekend, the heaviest rain and strongest winds will be heading across england and wales. But it could cause localised disruption. The unsettled weather then continues, would you believe it, well into the first part of next week as well. Thats your latest weather. Good morning, welcome to breakfast with Naga Munchetty and charlie stayt. Our headlines today parliament is back, and angrier than ever, as furious mps confront the Prime Minister. To talk about morals and morality is a disgrace Boris Johnson ignored calls to resign and mocked labour forfailing to back a general election. They have until the house arises today to table a motion of no confidence in the government. Come on, come on. After
