Are you one of those serial lane changes . With me is cornelia meyer, who is ceo of mrl corporation, a business consultancy. Do you drive, cornelia . No, this is my contribution to safety in the world. You are not behind the wheel, ever. No, it is better, trust me. Do you have a drivers license . Ever. No, it is better, trust me. Do you have a drivers license . ever. No, it is better, trust me. Do you have a drivers license . I once had a drivers license when i lived in the states, but it was not for me. We have had lots of viewers get in touch and many said that out of hell is not what to listen to. Bat out of hell. I have been on here for 46 minutes and have not said brexit yet, ifear for 46 minutes and have not said brexit yet, i fear i for 46 minutes and have not said brexit yet, ifear i may for 46 minutes and have not said brexit yet, i fear i may do for 46 minutes and have not said brexit yet, ifear i may do now. Uks Supreme Court will be hearing arguments for three days. It began yesterday. Today is wednesday, i am getting my days mixed up. To what extent a re getting my days mixed up. To what extent are you following this . came back to the uk yesterday. I came back to the uk yesterday. I came in and i switched it on and i stayed glued to the television, because this is high drama at the high court. Essentially, this is about the jostling for power between the executive, the government, parliament, and the law, and obviously Sienna Miller has put forward this thing that the prorogation was unlawful because it put government it put away the power from parliament, where put government it put away the powerfrom parliament, where it ought to be, and lord keane, the governments qc, was speaking for the government, said the prorogation was a matter of higher policy and not law. So it is about, is the prorogation higher policy, which would be within the purview of the government, or is it unlawful . What do you think will happen . M government, or is it unlawful . What do you think will happen . It is very ha rd to do you think will happen . It is very hard to say. It is very hard to say. They have both made their arguments. As you know, there was the high court of scotland, of england and wales, which said it was lawful, and then the high court in scotland who said no, it was not lawful. So it is 5050, but said no, it was not lawful. So it is 50 50, but what you saw was 11 judges sitting. They dont usually set at this time of year, and you dont have 11 judges sitting. And this is what this times article is about, talking about borisjohnson, wanting the most seniorjudges, no jurisdiction over his decision to suspend parliament and they risk entering the political arena. They are well aware of that. If you are a judge, you have to be neutral. Are well aware of that. If you are a judge, you have to be neutralm are well aware of that. If you are a judge, you have to be neutral. It is that balance of power, and this whole brexit drama has brought me to the conclusion that what we really need is a written constitution and a constitutional court, just to have clarity. Because if we had a written constitution, these things would be clear. But because we have this amalgam of convention and laws. Anachronisms. And that works when everybody, you know. Plays by the rules. But not everybody always plays by the rules, so maybe in these times of populism, the time has come to have a written constitution. All right. Well, we shall see how this all pans out and the expectation is that the judges will not deliberate for long, because they realise the clock is ticking and if there is a call for politicians to come back to parliament to discuss brexit and the issues and what is at stake, they need to get back in there pretty quickly. Lets now move on and moved to the front page of the independent, looking at liam fox, who of course used to be the International Trade secretary not so long ago. He is in washington delivering a speech, and he is going to say exactly what President Trump wa nts to to say exactly what President Trump wants to hear, which is, excuse me, uk government, but the Iran Nuclear Deal is dead. I have already mentioned you work a lot in the middle east and you work closely with governments and lots of different parts of the middle east. Your thoughts . Well, i was up until 110w your thoughts . Well, i was up until now really with the europeans, the french, the germans, and up until 110w french, the germans, and up until now also the british, who said ok, lets try to salvage it. Because you saw what happened when trump went out of the nuclear deal. For one year, actually, iran kept to the letter of the law on the nuclear deal, and now you see it isjust getting worse. Now, if, and i dont know whether it is so or not, but if iran is behind that attack on the saudi oilfacilities, iran is behind that attack on the saudi oil facilities, and iran is behind that attack on the saudi oilfacilities, and they have ratcheted it up. And you know, really what i would say is, please let cooler heads prevail. Because the last thing we need is another conflict in the region. Yes, absolutely, and just to be clear for those who are not aware of this deal, this is the nuclear deal brokered by president obama at the time, back in 2015, wasnt it . It was extremely historic, it lifted financial sanctions on iran that had beenin financial sanctions on iran that had been in place for decades and it was a big game changer at the time. Been in place for decades and it was a big game changer at the timem was a big game changer, it brought japan back into the fold of a cce pta ble japan back into the fold of acceptable nations, and it was, you know, the p5 plus one, the permanent representatives in the United NationsSecurity Council plus germany, and the current president of germany was actually very, very involved in getting it done. So just a quick word on this story in the gulf news, riyadh saying oil outputs to be restored by the end of the month. Many have been questioning how long this will take and for how long will this outage carry on for. We have already talked about this to a degree, but very quickly if, from your experience and knowing the oil industry quite well, is this quite difficult to fix quickly . This is very difficult to fix quickly. This is very good news indeed. If it can be restored, these processing plants are not like light switches, you cant just switch them are not like light switches, you cantjust switch them on and off, it takes time. You also have to see that saudi aramco is an extraordinarily competent company, with competence at every level. And if anybody can fix it, they can fix it. As they have an ipo that they wa nt to it. As they have an ipo that they want to launch, they need to prove that they can fix it. Yes, market flotation, and any word on when that might happen . Well, it was supposed to happen sometime ago, and it was scheduled to have the first instalment in the Saudi Exchange at the end of this year. It may go out, because what happened here will clearly influence the valuation of the company. Because if there is more risk, the valuation will likely go down. Interesting story, bill gates speaking to the media about lots of different issues. He was talking to us at the bbc as well, but this story is talking about his view on fossilfuel but this story is talking about his view on fossil fuel divestments. Campaigners are wasting their time, he said. He was talking specifically about the fact it is really popular in financial markets, these sorts of ethical, sustainable funds you can invest in, and he is saying actually thatis invest in, and he is saying actually that is not really where we should focus our attention. He is absolutely right, and this article says it, he says it has probably taken out zero c02. He is absolutely right because in the meantime we need to keep the lights switched on. So we do need these companies for some time to come, and the money is better spent on Disruptive Technologies that help us get over, you know, c02 emitting industries. When you are in the car, being driven around by someone else, what do you listen to . I am sort of a Classical Music person. do you listen to . I am sort of a Classical Music person. I know you are going to say that. But if i was driving and i was listening to wagners valkyrie, i would probably change lanes quite quickly. wagners valkyrie, i would probably change lanes quite quickly. I think iam change lanes quite quickly. I think i am with you on that one. If i was listening to that, i would probably swa p listening to that, i would probably swap lanes too often as well. Thank you for watching, we will see you soon. Hello there. Some more late summer warmth in this forecast but also a hint of some rain where its been so very dry over the last few weeks. Now, most will be dry until weekend, with High Pressure in control. Although, for wednesday there is a bit of rain to be had and that is across the far north of scotland here with this weather front moving in. But that is the exception. For many it will be dry because we have this big area of High Pressure sitting in right across over the british isles. And where weve had the clearer skies overnight, and particularly into parts of england and wales, wednesday starts on a chilly note. The coldest spots in the countryside in low single figures and there will be a few mist and fog patches around. But also a lot of sunshine across much of england and wales, cloudy skies in scotland, outbreaks of rain, including some heavier bursts in the north for a time. Parts of eastern and southern scotland brightening up during the day, more sunshine in Northern Ireland by the afternoon, some patchy cloud though, filtering furth south through england towards north wales and the midlands. South wales and southern england staying mostly sunny and this is where we will see the higher temperatures, around about 20 celsius. Now, as we go on through wednesday evening and night, a lot of clear weather around through Northern Ireland, much of england and wales into southern scotland, some patchy cloud, but also some patches of mist and fog developing as it turns quite chilly once again. The exception will be northern scotland, holding onto cloud, temperatures here in double figures, and still some light rain or drizzle to be had. But for most, thursday starts quite chilly, some Poor Visibility around in places, so bear that in mind. Fog may be slow to clear in some spots. Drier in northern scotland, turning a bit brighter here during the day, and elsewhere there will be good, sunny spells around, and any patchy cloud slow to clear. And those temperatures are just edging up a few degrees, thats a sign of things to come for friday into the start of the weekend. Why . High pressure is still with us, but its moving eastwards, having a flow of air, warm air, to come in from the sale. Thats going to lift temperatures more widely into the low, even for some spots into the mid 20s. Though, particularly by saturday, that will be on a freshening wind coming in from the south or south east. Now, there is a weather system coming our way over the weekend, it isnt here on friday, though. Again there will be some mist and fog patches around, slow to clear on friday, but for most places there be a lot of sunshine, turning breezy in the west and it will feel warm in that sunshine. Now, into the weekend, for many, we will start dry and sunny, here is a view for some places down the eastern side of the uk, 25 celsius in london. But as the weather system moves eastwards during sunday, more cloud around by then and a chance of seeing some rain out of that cloud, and temperatures come down a little. This good morning.
