More to regulate in game spending we speak to a mother whos son spent more than 3000 pounds in one game. And coming up more wickets for australia on the first day of the final ashes test match. The Prime Minister has denied lying to the queen about his reasons for suspending parliament. Boris johnson was speaking after scotlands highest civil court ruled yesterday that the shutdown was unlawful because it was intended to hinder parliamentary debate. Mrjohnson also dismissed concerns about newly released government papers detailing preparations for a no deal brexit scenario that contained warnings of medical shortages, food price rises and major cross channel trade delays. Mrjohnson said the documents were just part of sensible preparations. 0ur Political Editor Laura Kuenssberg reports. Almost a year to the day, this document was snapped by a beady eyed photographer in westminster. A hint of the turmoil the government believed might come if we leave without a deal. 12 months later, after leaks and suspicion, at last, ministers have been forced to publish the actual details. Do you know what were actually doing . I dont. Lets hope they do know what theyre doing, because leaving without arrangements in place could mean shortages of some food, protests, severe disruption at the irish border and much more. If we have to come out on october the 31st with no deal, we will be ready. And the ports will be ready, and the farming communities will be ready, and all the industries that matter will be ready for a no deal brexit. Stop the coup after clashes in parliament, mps did change the law to make it much harder for the government to take us out if there is no agreement with brussels by the end of october. But the Prime Minister is adamant he would find a way round that to stick to his deadline. So, neither side has any intention at this stage of backing down. If we were to allow the country to leave without a deal on the 31st of october, we would not be serving our constituents well. We would be complicit in doing something that would be very disruptive in the short term, very damaging in long term. Is there any progress, do you want to tell us whats going on . Im very impressed. The only clear way out of the wrangle for the Prime Minister is to do a deal with brussels and leave the eu in an orderly fashion. There are whispers of progress in london and brussels. But the eus chief negotiators not so sure. We are still ready to examine objectively any concrete and legally operational proposal from the uk. The law has been changed to make it harder for the Prime Minister to take us out of the eu without a deal. But its not completely off the table. So while ministers suggest these are just worst Case Scenarios, the anxiety in whitehall and beyond cant disappear. Nor can downing street escape a judges ruling yesterday that the way they suspended parliament was against the law. Number 10 is fighting on many fronts. This is not normal the Prime Minister, having to deny he lied to the monarch. Did you lie to the queen when you advised her to prorogue, to suspend parliament . Absolutely not. Indeed, as i say, the high court in england plainly agrees with us. But the Supreme Court will have to decide. There will be that other verdict next week. But the opposition just doesnt buy the governments arguments, or whether they are ready for no deal. Thats why we are so angry that parliament was prorogued, because i should be in parliament at the moment with the ability to interrogate the Prime Minister and ministers. Mps could be ordered back on the road to westminster by the courts next week. Were in a strange limbo. The only certainty, change of some sort is on the way. So as weve heard ministers have finally published details of the worst Case Scenario for the impact of a no deal brexit. The government tried to resist published the operation yellowhammer document, but mps voted to force them to release it. The 6 page paper outlines a series of reasonable worst Case Assumptions lets have a look at the key ones. The document warns of some shortages of fresh food, and overall there will be less choice in products and increased prices. It notes that vulnerable groups will be impacted by this. Significant distruption at dover and other Channel Crossings would persist for at least three months, with some lorries waiting more than two days to cross. The docuent says that if this is unmitigated, there will be an impact on the supply of medicines. And the document warns of an increased risk of public disorder, as protests and counter protests will take place across the uk. 0ur economics editor faisal islam has more on this and how local authorities are dealing with these risks. If after a no deal brexit blockages and disruption are to be avoided, or even lessened, much depends on what happens in places such as here, on the banks of the humber. Already, by tonnage, the uks biggest port. Last night, the government forced to reveal its no deal 0peration yellowhammer document, worst Case Assumptions that could lead to fresh food shortages, medicines and fuel problems, and even mentioned a risk of an impact on water supplies, affecting hundreds of thousands of people, arising from britains reliance on imports from europe of Water Purification chemicals with a short sell by date. It is here at the port of immingham that some of the solutions can be found. They store the essential chemicals here, but also the government chartered emergency ferries that are also coming here and were supposed to be carrying those perishable water chemicals as category i supplies. Also including medical supplies, medicines, veterinary medicines and Nuclear Power plant parts. Much boils down to what happens here. Hauliers on the short channel crossing in kent. Can a quarter of a million businesses that fill this lorries, that have never acquired paperwork or checks for european trade, get ready on time . Its all new to anybody thats around now. So i do think it will be. Theres going to be delays, no matter what. The old days used to be the same, when you used to cross borders to different countries, you always had to wait then. The yellowhammer sassumptions have been filtered down to councils. Bbc news has obtained the internal planning of many local authorities for this. We have previously showed Hastings Council discussing how to stop individual stockpiling referred to as rationing. Chichester District Council is buying a 2a,000 litre fuel tank and filling station with taxpayer brexit funds to deal with any disruptions. We can also show that on water supplies, considered a low to moderate risk generally, dudley council, for example, has a document identifying constraints on supply of Drinking Water due to shorter shelf life of four to six weeks of imported chemicals is a moderate risk. Social care problems are again mentioned in yellowhammer and in council documents. For example, the isle of wight, warning of the extreme impact of the failure of a social care provider. Yellowhammer also warns on inflamed tensions in Northern Ireland. These documents show that North Ayrshire council fear a no deal brexit could see greater sectarian tensions, including in the west of scotland. Elsewhere in scotland, first minister Nicola Sturgeon said its version of the yellowhammer documents from the same day was a base scenario, not the uk governments description. The yellowhammer documents are a worst Case Scenario. They are produced so that government can take plans, take steps in order to mitigate any of those consequences. So far though, the turbo charging of no deal planning is yet to change the governments own no deal assessment. Faisal islam, bbc news. Im nowjoined by Charlie Maclean bristol, founder and director of plan b consulting, a firm specialising in Emergency Planning and crisis management. Thank you for being with us. The government keeps saying this is a worst Case Scenario. Government keeps saying this is a worst Case Scenario. In your experience come is that wise and sensible to do, worst case planninguk . I think what the problem we have to do is those that are planning for brexit need to have something to plan against. Because the problem is a little bit if you say i think 80 of lorries will get through, and use i say 20 , we could spend a lot of time arguing about who is right there. And we can waste our energy on trying to the side. So i think the government has to give us i think the government has to give us something to plan on. And some number so that gives us and start our planning. I think the government has a bit of a tricky view to do there. They did not want to go to worst case because that will look like armageddon, almost like it is not worth planning because it is so bad. But it needs to give us a certain kind of amount of worst case, so i think governments have a balance there to do, but i think the planning assumptions within the document have been very useful for those doing Business Continuity because of the lease gives you numbers to plan against. From what you have gathered, what do you think the most serious impact of ano you think the most serious impact of a no dealer brexit would be . This document is the worst Case Scenario but it is alarming and talks about refinery, closures, strikes, mass delays at the channel ports. Even social unrest. I think there are a couple of things there. I think what we will find is that the very obvious things might be planned for. I hope they will be planned for. Like the supermarkets getting food. There will not not be food. I think that planning will help. What will end upa that planning will help. What will end up a little bit like the response from the fukushima tsunami where it was at strange, subtle things that were, the impacts where. After the earthquake, he didnt see too many black cars because you could buy them. You cannot buy them. And honda can i get started car parts. They have to go on half time working. Could not get started. What i suspect will happen, and armageddon but what there will be is, you will suddenly notice certain things are not in the shops, you cannot buy them or they are in short supply in i think there will bea short supply in i think there will be a slightly eclectic mix of things which perhaps people could not predict. How do you think the british people will react, if it is a scenario like in america are the british people still work enough to deal with it or whether be perhaps a panic buying . I think there always isa panic buying . I think there always is a little bit of a panic buying. But i have been doing a lot of research and looking into what happens after hurricanes. Actually, there isnt the panic and looting. Not the kind armageddon you see on disaster films. They are not the kind armageddon you see on disasterfilms. They are not not the kind armageddon you see on disaster films. They are not real. Im the whole, disasters, people are very good at sharing stuff and looking after each other. Often you get a great sense of Community Come after a disaster. Everybody is in the same vote and they had to help each other. I personally think the british people are a pretty stoic lot. We wont get the choice we didnt get before, there might be the art of riot over the last avocado, but i dont think on the whole we will be stoic. We will look after each other and i think we will put up with not having some of the food we normally get. Get to talk to you thank you forjoining us. Thats good to talk to you. Boris johnson insists government documents warning of price rises and disruption to medicines after a no deal brexit are a worst Case Scenario and denies misleading the queen over his reasons for suspending parliament. The number of people convicted of rape in england and wales falls to its lowest level since records began. New figures reveal that cancer survival rates in the uk remain below those of other high Income Countries. As you just heard. The number of convictions for rape has fallen to its lowest level since records began. The Crown Prosecution Service says there has been a drop of nearly 30 compared to last year. Yet the number of allegations of rape being reported to the police is at an all time high. Our Home Affairs Correspondent june kelly has more. Rebecca began a relationship with a man who lied to her that he was a police officer. In fact, he was a convicted criminal with a history of violence against women. She discovered this after he attacked her. He just went into a complete frenzy and thats when he started to physically assault me. He was punching me in the back of the head about four or five times. He tried to bite my hand, and then the violence just escalated, and that was when it progressed on to raping me. He then held her hostage in her flat. He attacked me again, and this time he had a huge kitchen knife and raped me for a second time. After being raped, rebecca had some seemingly normal whatsapp exchanges with her attacker. She says because she was terrified of him, but she was told that because of this he would not be prosecuted. How did you feel when you learned that . Somewhere between absolutely broken to absolutely livid as well. It was, hang on a minute. Youve let him out based on a really weak reason. This record low in prosecutions is evidence, say campaigners, that prosecutors are trying to second guessjuries by screening out tougher cases. Not so, insists the director of public prosecutions. There has not been a change in approach from prosecutors at the cps. We operate on the basis that juries are objective, impartial and reasonable. That is what a prosecutor bears in mind when making his or her decision. Rebecca was told by a specially trained rape lawyer that her case wasnt going to court, a conversation she can recall in detail. Hes raped somebody, theyve come forward. There is so much evidence there. Youve let a known rapist go, and i said that to her. And she shrugged, and she went, ive heard worse. Rebecca says she was left suicidal by her experience and shes unsure whether she would advise other complainants to come forward. Meanwhile, the Crown Prosecution Service says it will now ask a watchdog to review its work. June kelly, bbc news. Joining me now is amelia handy from the Charity Rape Crisis england and wales, which helps victims of rape. These figures are quite astonishing really. The number of convictions for rate falling to his lowest level since records began. Yet the number of allegations of a rape is at all time high. How surprised are you by these numbers . Rape crisis in english and wales are not surprised at these numbers. They are very disturbing and alarming figures but our front line workers who are working with survivors of Sexual Violence and abuse are telling us every day that there are fewer and fewer cases of rape and sexual abuse going to court. So these figures are not a surprise. Fewer cases going to court, what is the reason for that . It isa court, what is the reason for that . It is a complicated issue. We know that prosecuting rape and Sexual Offences a re that prosecuting rape and Sexual Offences are notoriously difficult and challenging for prosecutors, very often these cases hands on consent and therefore, what we are seeing is that in these cases, victims are scrutinised, they go through a very difficult time to the criminal Justice System through a very difficult time to the criminalJustice System and this sta rts criminalJustice System and this starts off from reports through to court we are seeing very u nfortu nately court we are seeing very unfortunately that widespread rape stereotypes about victims and behaviour expected of the victims is very prevalent and we are seeing this through all levels of the criminal Justice System. This through all levels of the criminalJustice System. Therefore really rape crisis in england and wales come as we have done for quite some time, we call for a ruths and brents reform to the criminal Justice System as things stand. That is to the police and the cps and the courts. You are saying the criminal Justice System has submits, rape myths about victims. Explain a bit more. A rape myth, example our work is here, very frequently, if a young woman is out and parting with their friends, decided to drink come and meets up with she may have previously dated, anything around that nature, it will be scrutinised and it will be implied that perhaps because of our character, perhaps there was something that she was actually in some way asking for and i would like to reiterate that rape is never something anybody asked for in these views are absolutely abhorrent. You are talking about changes needed in the criminal Justice System but also changing attitudes from the Justice System and from the police . Absolutely. I would just say that rape myths and stereotypes, it is a social issue as well. We see the societal attitudes reflected in the criminalJustice System. What would be message to anybody who is a rape victim indices these figures about the number of convictions following to the lowest level since records began . And worried about that . Of course it is appalling and distressing. For those victims of rape and sexual assault. What i would say is that rape crisis england and wales offer specialist support, counselling support, therapeutic support and for those who wish to report to the police, we have independent Sexual Violence advocates who will help you decide whether that is a process you wish to go through and we will support you through every step. Thank you for talking to us. Police have arrested five people in response to proposed plans to illegally fly drones near heathrow airport. Police say theyre fully prepared for the protest tomorrow and are prepared to make more arrests. A new study shows cancer survival in the uk is improving but that it lags behind that of other wealthy countries. The research looked at five year survival rates, and found they were worse in the uk than in australia, canada and ireland. Our health correspondent, dominic hughes, reports. For some years now, the uk has lagged behind other developed countries when it comes to treating cancer. The gap is closing with definite signs of improvement, but the latest Research Shows theres no room for complacency. We know that we dont have enough radiologists, we dont have enough endoscopists and we dont have enough of the pathologists that read the tests, and so we have something of a bottleneck in the nhs to be able to get people through the system. And this can make our gps slightly more reluctant to refer at the earliest possible opportunity when there is this bottleneck in the system. The latest data looks at survival rates for seven of the most common cancers in seven high Income Countries with similar healthcare systems. The uk was at the foot of the league table in five of the seven cancers, including pancreatic cancer, where less than 8 survived five years after diagnosis. In australia the five year survival rate was close to 15 . Faster diagnosis and swifter treatment are the key to better results, and unions say that means more specialist staff trained to identify and treat cancer. We do think there needs to be a focus on specialist nursing and continuing professional development, investment in that, and also time given so once weve got the numbers we can spend time developing them into specialist roles so they can contribute fully to the service delivery. The government points to cancer survival rates in the uk that are now at a record high. And analysts have welcomed nhs englands plan for the coming years which targets the improvement of cancer services. Some of the measures in there do line up with some of the things that studies suggest may be behind the uks poor performance. So those will be things like speed to starting diagnosis, picking up all the symptoms that might lead you to that suspicion that theres something that needs to be looked at there again. I think those probably are along the right tracks. Because these statistics take a while come through, it may be some time before we really know whether they work or not. The uks record on treating cancer is getting better, but todays figures show there is still a long way to go. Dominic hughes, bbc news. A long way to go. Lets talk about that with the nhs gp doctor ellie cannon. Who practises here in london. Thank you for being with us. What is the problem here in the uk . Why are we still behind . There are probably two main problems. Both go down to access. We know it is hard for people to get into see the gp come it takes time and can take weeks to get an appointment. That means people are being diagnosed later. So gps are just as equipped as in other countries, they know how to diagnose and we have good gps, people are coming in just that bit later they a delay in the other problem with access is the access that gps like myself have to the imaging that we need, to the x rays and ultrasounds, for example we pancreatic cancer, patient a ct scan for the end gps are not able to refer for that type of imaging. For the end gps are not able to refer for that type of imagingm that a question of resources or not enough money being spent . That a question of resources or not enough money being spent7m that a question of resources or not enough money being spent . It isjust not enough focus of resource, the pathways are not there. There is a blanket ban where i work on gps ordering ct scans. Which might make sense for a lot of other parts of the body, but if i suspect pancreatic cancer, i need to get a ct scan quickly. It is just about sensibly putting the money in the right places. How frustrating do you find that as a front line doctor . That we are lagging behind australia, canada, ireland was michael should be doing betterfor us michael should be doing betterfor us that we should be doing better. Things havent really got that much better in 20 years. All the countries have got better but we still lag behind. Treatments are getting better. Surgery is getting better. We know if health tech has a role. I really think it is down to access in a terribly frustrating. We had a two week delay the for the last few years. But there is still these blocks getting into your gp and then also getting the access to those scans. We have been talking about this of the country for years. I think certainly at the moment, primary care, getting those appointments to see your gp is very hard. We know that. We know we dont have enough gps on the ground. There are gp surgeries, all over the country where they are not enough to gps there for the patients to see. And people will wait three or four weeks to see agp come if you have already got a cancer, that is time you just cannot afford. When the patient does come to you after that delay, you may only have ten minutes with a patient. How hard is it when there are symptoms for you at the front line gp to spot those symptoms . It can be very hard. Gp see a lot of people with a lot of symptoms that mimic cancer. They do not have cancer. Most people i see with tummy aches or headaches or all of those things thankfully do not have cancer. And we have that ability to bring patients back and this is why i emphasised we have to have that ability to be able to scan patients easily to get diagnostic blood test easily, because that is how we separate those patients with cancer from other people who did not. Could you even have scanning in the gps practises . Is that feasible . Certainly. That would be. It would really be feasible in terms of diagnostic blood test for looking for tumour markers and things that really tell us as a cancer. Useful in Something Like ovarian cancer. There are definitely better pathways. We had done it with the two week way. But as these numbers show, there is room for improvement. Thank you for coming again. A late flurry from just saw them reach 271 for eight at the cloud to play, australia verbally returned to the ashes but that would mean the series is drawn, here a sports correspondent. As we approached mid september, we should be thankful for that fact alone. For much of the story has been of dropped ones. Before he would reach 50, and then en route benefiting and seem to get tickets seem to be a bit stuck himself, beautiful delivery with a clea n himself, beautiful delivery with a clean bowl. No fielders for that. And after that its in like australia were going to take control and an interesting decision for them to both first and by taking four wickets, full deliveries, and in particular to get the best, and four wickets of the day. Still bowling at the close of play, having some fun as the day turned to evening. Now, if england or on the second day and can get their total to 300 and more, maybe that will put some scoreboard pressure on australia,. One big concern are so called loot boxes virtual objects that you can buy during Online Gaming to improve your progress. Gaming Companies Make billions of pounds from them. Now there are calls for them to be regulated and banned from being sold to children. Joe tidy reports from sheffield. Here we go, man its estimated that 37 Million People play Computer Games in the uk, more than half of us, and its growing. But now a Parliamentary Select Committee says its time to pause and make major changes to protect people, particularly from gaming addiction. The proportion of gamers affected by gaming disorder is estimated to be less than 1 , so a small but significant number. But bthere is one area of gaming that mps are concerned is causing problems on a mass scale, and that is loot boxes. Loot boxes are randomised in game treasure chests opened with real world money. Mps want them regulated under gambling laws. At a nearby gaming cafe, owner mike welcomes the idea. My opinion is they are gambling. They have the mechanics of gambling, they act the same as gambling does, you dont know what youre going to get, you put your money towards it and i think they have the same dangers as gambling. But it is not a view shared by all. It is your choice as an adult. Ive spent over £100 on it. I think it was worth it in the end, because it wasnt all at once. You want to something and if you dont get it you keep going until you get it. But i think its only a problem if you cant control it, i guess. Mps say children are particularly at risk of spending on loot boxes. They want the government to ban the feature for under 18s. Families find it extremely difficult to deal with gaming disorder in their children and their young sons or daughter, because even before it becomes a proper disorder it has already tainted and disrupted the good family dynamics. Industry bodies say theyre reviewing the recommendations. We care deeply about player experience. We want players to play safely, we want them to play in a balanced way. We provide technical settings, technical measures, we provide education, robust age ratings, and guidance and information sources. Loot boxes have been banned in some countries. Removing them can be a relatively straightforward software update, but with some games making hundreds of millions of pounds from them, it is unlikely to happen overnight. Joining me now is susie breare, whose disabled son spent £3,160 in one of these games that that was thought to be an educational. Thank you very much for being with us thank you very much for being with us and just tell us what happened. That is an awful lot of money to lose someone that is an awful lot of money to lose someone game. That is an awful lot of money to lose someone game. My sun has severe autism and Cerebral Palsy he relies on his computer and his ipad for education and for entertainment. He is not able to play normal sports like most children, so he relies heavily on his ipad gaming. It was an educational game he was playing and every time he went to the next level, he had to purchase more points. It is a Virtual Reality game, so points. It is a Virtual Reality game, so as points. It is a Virtual Reality game, so as far as he was concerned, he had no idea that what he was buying was real money and the problem is that, in order to play a game that is a so called free game but has an inept it charges the card attached to your ipad. He had severe epileptic seizures and ended up having to play something on his ipad for entertainment and rest bite and one morning, he managed to accumulate this money. I have tried to contact the company in canada, which provided, made the game and they have a subsidiary in london and their Parent Company is in london, i have had endless phone calls and e mails and so far no luck. Have had endless phone calls and emails and so far no luck. He spent £700 in one morning, what changes now do you want to see and are you of the view that this is gambling . No doubt about it, this is a form of gambling . If it is a free game, it should be a free game. If it has an in app purchase attached to it, because people want to go to the next level, then surely the game should have an initial Purchase Price and it should be made much more difficult to get to the next level. As adults, we have a card we are not allowed to spend more than a certain amount, but how come someone ona certain amount, but how come someone on a computer or an ipad can press one button and you can spend £700 over the course of a morning . So for me, there needs to be some sort of regulation for Vulnerable Children and vulnerable adults and for you now have finger touch and you have eye recognition, i think it is opening up a huge can of worms and there needs to be some sort of regulation. Vulnerable children and also a very Young Children who are also a very Young Children who are also involved in this. Exactly because children borrowed their pa rents because children borrowed their parents telephones and you have no idea of what is going on and it is all very well for me to say parental control. My son is 22 and disabled with the cognitive ability of a seven or eight year old, with that does your ipad and telephone is it cuts out, you cannot watch the news, you cannot download anything on youtube and for him, he likes to look at the news, he likes to know what is going on and he likes to access youtube to watch what is going on, watching rugby matches and the like, so you cut out everything if you restricted to that level. Theyre calling for action on this, are you saying that you need action from the government pretty quickly . Very much so, our local mp has been very proactive and is trying to help also, he is trying to take it to government and he has been trying to contact the london based company and again, we have heard nothing back. I just think these company should take some responsibility and yes, my son is disabled and he has lost his entire life savings and we have no recourse, no free compensation re compensation. It is notjust my son, there are hundreds and hundreds of other children out there, every person i speak to, has been hit by this. Every person has set my son has spent £20, my son took my phone and downloaded a game and they spent £30. This all adds up to billions of pounds that needs to be regulation. We hear you. Thank you so much for being with us on bbc news. Borisjohnson Boris Johnson insisted borisjohnson insisted of price rises and disruptions and medicines after a no deal brexit are a worst Case Scenario. After a no deal brexit are a worst Case Scenario. Also, denies misleading the queen for suspending parliament. The number of people convicted of rape in england and wales falls to its lowest level since records began. New figures reveal that cancer survival rates in the uk remain below those of other high Income Countries. With Cystic Fibrosis and their family have been the cost in england saying that is too much. 0ur Health Editor has been talking to some of those affected. Kelly has Cystic Fibrosis, a debilitating lung condition. After campaigning with her mother, shes been on one of the drugs for a few months. Shes now delighted that hundreds of others will be able to get them. Im so overwhelmed with it all. Im just so happy and grateful that its happened now and that everybody has that life chance that ive had the chance. Just that they can follow suit and hopefully within months they can feel like as great as i do. The drugs 0rkambi and symkevi could help about half of all Cystic Fibrosis patients. The Scottish Government will now fund them for at least five years for those whod benefit, after striking a deal with the manufacturer, vertex. Theyre not available elsewhere in the uk. What do we want . All 0rkambi when do we want it . All now there have been protests at westminster after Health Leaders said the drugs were too expensive. The cost regulator nice covers england, and is closely followed in wales and Northern Ireland. Health authorities here say they have to follow the advice of Clinical Experts in terms of whats Cost Effective for the nhs. They say they want to get back into talks with the manufacturer, even though recent negotiations stalled. Whatever happens in the weeks ahead will be closely watched and scrutinised by patients and campaigners. For the rest of the uk, the Cystic Fibrosis trust is calling on Decision Makers to see the announcement today in scotland as proof that deals can be made between the nhs and the drug company, and to see that as an example and Work Together as an absolute matter of urgency. Urgency is what aydas family are calling for. They live in carlisle and might consider moving to scotland to get her the drugs. Heartbreaking, really, to know that only five minutes down the motorway that this drug could be available to her, or is available to her now, should i say. Yet we live in england, in this Postcode Lottery that now exists. It may appear to be a simple solution, but decisions on drugs costing thousands of pounds each month and the best use of nhs resources are never straightforward. Liz brennan joined us earler. Her four year old daughter, annabelle is living with Cystic Fibrosis and their family have been campaigning for the availability of 0rkambi on the nhs in england. She says the medication would make a huge difference to annabelles quality of life what it does is work on the root cause where they deal with the symptoms and so by working on the root cause, it will slow down the progression of her disease which then means that she has every chance to fight these infections in a better way it is less likely to get these infections and generally the toll that it has on her body will be reduced significantly. It is very expensive, hundred thousand pounds per patient per year and it is a harsh reality that i suppose that National Health service has to make difficult choices about the cost of medicines. We know for fact that thatis medicines. We know for fact that that is list price and that is the price that scotland will come to the deal with but we note that it is a very demanding and high costly condition that already costs the nhs huge amounts of money. The condition progresses more and more into intervention and times in the hospital within two weeks and specialised beds and having iv, specialised beds and having iv, specialised ivs which these antibiotics are also highly costly and currently she is already on a drug the cost and thousand a year. The news of this going to get the go ahead in scotland, it must be frustrating that it is not the case in england. We woke up at half past six and found out this news and this isa six and found out this news and this is a landmark day for a campaign we been campaigning for four years for the whole of uk to get access, universal access to the nhs on this and for consult instead of every tourin and for consult instead of every tour in the box to treat this really hard, cruel disease and the fact that now in scotland, our scottish family have woken up with the relief to know that their loved ones are going to get the best possible chance to life, it is such a day to celebrate but it is frustrating. It is heartbreaking to think thatjust because we do not live in scotland, our loved ones currently are not getting the same chance to life. As one of britains most successful 0lympians, jason kenny is best known for his exploits on the track but the six time gold medallist is now backing a campaign to make it easier for children to cycle and play in the street. Hes encouraging parents to ask local councils to regularly shut their streets to traffic, removing one of the main barriers that stop children cycling. I love riding my bike and there are lots of kids out there that enjoy playing together and still benefit from the social interaction and all of the skills that. But this is removing an obstacle that is potentially in the way of making sure that every child can ride a bike and every child has that opportunity to go on and cycle as pa rt opportunity to go on and cycle as part of a Healthy Lifestyle moving forward. That was jason kenny, whos backing a campaign called playing 0ut, and joining us now is one of the founders of the campaign alice ferguson, from bristol. Why did you want to get involved in this . Because of your own children . We started ten years ago, so it is not a new thing and we started on my street my children were quite young and we felt that our children lost the freedom to play out in the main reason for that was just our streets becoming very traffic dominated in dealing like it was not a safe space and we came up with a temporary, short road closure to reclaim the space and give them back some of that freedom and also to build a sense of community on the streets and so that is where it all started as now grown and so that is where it all started as now grown into a National Movement where he found out there Area Movement where he found out there are a lot of parents than for the same way and so, is now happening over 900 streets in the country, promoting it as a really good way to get kids more physically active and also as a way of bringing communities together and overcoming loneliness and isolation that affects children as much as adults and theres a lot that is happening and theres a lot that is happening and british cycling getting behind is fantastic because it shows how those other councils are onboard, behind and hopefully a lot more streets play out. Seeing some pictures of kids playing, and must be very liberating for them. Its our children used to play in the yea rs our children used to play in the years gone by in the streets outside of their yes, it is amazing to see how children respond to something so simple, does bingo to play outside the front door but it is a very simple thing because theyre not used to it. And to feel like it is theirs and they can do their own thing and make up their own games. A lot of children do cycle which is the main reason by british cycling of gun behind it because it is such a nice thing to be able to take your bike straight out of your house got in it. It is a fantastic thing for children. Talk us through what they need to do. The first thing to do was to go to our website and that its pretty much everything that you need to know on there, we have videos showing you how to do it and eventually youll get to the point where you need to apply to the council for where you need to apply to the councilfor a where you need to apply to the council for a place to order a where you need to apply to the councilfor a place to order a road closure and for the moment, 16 councils of a policy in place that supports this idea and were just hoping that all the other councils get behind it so that anyone can do this anywhere they live in the country. So those councils are supportive of this . 63 action of a policy in place but a lot more interested in the process. They are publishing guidance from more councils to say that this is a good thing to do in the councils should get behind it and there is a very simple Legal Process that they can use to do that. So there is nothing in the way of councils being able to get behind this and a lot to gain from it. And you made a very good start but is this something that you hope and expect will grow across the country . We really hope it will and we do not see this is the long term solution, we feel really strongly that children need to be able to play out where they live, wherever they live on an everyday basis in childrens lives have become so much more restricted of regeneration that physical activity levels have become really worryingly low with only one in five children now getting the basic minimum amount recommended by the government and so there are serious issues behind this and we just see this as a step towards that longer term change that is needed for children and, yes. Thank you for speaking with us and a brilliant idea, good luck with that. Co founder of the playing out campaign. Hello there.
