Of water have not been drunk by you in plastic. Cheering thank you. A century from Jonny Bairstow helps england to a big total against india, but the match remains on a knife edge. Well have the very latest in half an hour in sportsday. Good evening. Donald trump has become the first sitting us president to enter north korea, stepping onto its territory after surprise talks with its leader, kimjong un. They met in the dmz or demilitarised zone between north and south korea. Speaking warmly about each other, the two leaders agreed that negotiators would now aim to restart the stalled talks on north korean denuclearisation. From seoul, nick bryant sent this report. Meet me at the dmz, said the president. His impromptu invitation on twitter to the north Korean Leader, like a diplomatic form of online dating. Donald trump was savouring this moment, a smile of satisfaction as his choreography came together. Because the chance of this brief encounter had kim jong un almost skipping down the steps. And from the lips of this brutal dictator came almost starry eyed words of welcome, delivered in english by his translator. It is good to see you again. I had never expected to meet you at this place. This place is the 38th parallel, the line that divides the korean peninsula, a threshold no american president has ever crossed. I thank you as well. Youre the first us president to cross the border. So this time, it wasnt a handshake that made history, but a footstep. Donald trump leaving his security detail behind and striding out alone into what, for decades, has been enemy territory, a country that less than two years ago he threatened to totally destroy. His visit lasted just over a minute, more than enough time, his critics will say, to legitimise this totalitarian regime with one of the worst human rights records on the planet. But that didnt seem to trouble the president , who has formed an improbable friendship with a tyrant he used to ridicule as little rocket man. Stepping across that line was a great honour, a lot of progress has been made, a lot of friendships have been made, and it has been in particular a great friendship, so i just want to thank you. That was very quick notice, and i want to thank you. There were chuckles as well from south koreans who watched on tv, and looks of utter disbelief generations here have lived with the threat of annihilation from the north. In their sit down meeting, kimjong un praised mr trump, saying his visit was proof of a willingness to eliminate the unfortunate past and open a new future. And the president delivered another invitation, to visit him at the white house. Donald trumps unorthodox diplomacy has certainly reduced tensions here, but it hasnt stopped the North Koreans from expanding their nuclear arsenal. This friendship has produced smiles, handshakes, photo opportunities, but not the supposed goal of us policy the denuclearisation of the korean peninsula. He ended his trip with a speech to us troops, staged to look more like a campaign rally. Another made for television moment, but who would have thought that make America Great again would also elevate north korea . Nick bryant, bbc news, seoul. Earlier, i spoke to the former British Ambassador to north korea john everard, who gave his assessment of todays events. The two leaders reaffirmed the relationship which is a good thing, it means both are less likely to do something that might put the relationship at risk. Kim jong un less likely to test for the missiles, President Trump less likely to turn the screw so that gives breathing space. They have agreed to restart official level talks. The problem is, in terms of substance, the United States and north korea are miles and miles apart, both on denuclearisation and on sanctions against north korea. They are about as far apart as they were when donald trump walked out of the last summit in hanoi in february. Unless one side or the other gives ground, those talks will go nowhere. With the way this came about, it was an Early Morning tweet from President Trump while he was at the 620, actually, if kim jong un wants to meet, i am up for that. The logistics of that, presumably that puts lots of pressure on the officials on both sides . One suspects some preprepared theatre. The north korean bureaucracy cannot react that fast, to deliver the leader and a full entourage to the demilitarised zone within 2a hours. I have my doubts. I am pretty sure that the North Koreans either knew that this meeting was going to go ahead or at the very least had a contingency plan ready in case it did. Who do you think benefits more from this meeting out of the two . Difficult to say, both leaders benefit a great deal. Donald trump has launched his bid for the presidency. Being seen to be the man who is solving the problem of north korea will not do his campaign any harm. Kim jong un is seen to be the leader who is able to talk to us president s. He is the only north Korean Leader who has achieved that so far and that will play well, both with his people as a whole, and in particular with his senior officials, some of whom we believe are suggesting he is being a bit soft on the americans. We gather that their face to face talks in private went on longer than anyone expected, but there has been no indication about what exactly they discussed yet . That is right, we do not know. We will probably not find out any time soon, it was a closed door discussion. We know the leaders agreed to restart talks, but they may or may not have discussed anything else of substance. Remember that kim jong un wrote to donald trump a couple of weeks ago and president moon of south korea, who saw the letter, said there was an interesting bit in there. They may have talked about that. We understand that the president of south korea was present for part of the discussions and that was an unprecedented part of this get together. Yes, i am sure the president of south korea loved that. Domestically he is in deep trouble and he is desperate for a breakthrough. He has been trying to talk up the summit furiously. The former British Ambassador to north korea speaking to me earlier. Police have named the pregnant woman fatally stabbed in south london yesterday as 26 year old Kelly Mary Fauvrelle. Her baby, delivered by paramedics at the house where she was discovered, remains in a Critical Condition in hospital. Police have made two arrests but say they are keeping an open mind as to the motive of the crime. Caroline davies reports. 26 year old Kelly Mary Fauvrelle was eight months pregnant when she was stabbed to death in south london. Paramedics and Police Arrived at this address at 3 30am yesterday morning. Kelly mary was suffering from stab wounds. Unable to save her, they did deliver her baby. Taken to hospital, the child is still in a Critical Condition. Neighbours say they were woken in the middle of the night by noises from the house. My sister woke me up, because she heard people screaming, and she was alone, and she was scared, yeah . And, well, we look out the window, and we saw police and ambulances on the street. Then, um. After about ten minutes, i saw someone from the ambulance come out with a baby, and they put the baby in the ambulance. Others were distressed that Something Like this could happen on their street. I think the feeling is upset, upset for her. Hopeful for the child, but the neighbours were definitely, definitely upset. Today, forensic officers have been conducting a search of the entire street, including the house where kelly mary was found, trying to find anything to inform their investigation. A 29 year old man was arrested yesterday on suspicion of murder. Another 37 year old man, also arrested on saturday, has been released under investigation pending further inquiries. Caroline davies, bbc news. The shadow chancellor, John Mcdonnell, says labour needs to move now towards support for another brexit referendum. Mr mcdonnell, who wants the party to adopt a remain position, said Jeremy Corbyn was still trying to build consensus with the trade unions on the issue. Heres our Political Correspondent, tom barton. Theyre two ofJeremy Corbyns closest lieutenants, John Mcdonnell, his shadow chancellor, and Len Mccluskey, the leader of the unite union, labours biggest financial backer and a close ally of the partys leader. But over brexit they are divided. In the last few months, John Mcdonnell has become one of a number of members of the shadow cabinet to move towards supporting another referendum. And today, he admitted that he was a little bit frustrated that the partys policy hasnt done the same. Weve all agreed that we have to go back to the people. Yes, of course, we want a general election but we have to go back to the people on any deal or no deal, most probably in a referendum. And im almost certain, in a referendum. The discussion then is about what attitude should labour take. I have said publicly i would vote remain, id campaign for remain. But that other big beast of labour politics Len Mccluskey says the party needs to look before it leaps, suggesting John Mcdonnell was panicking. I dont believe there is a panic, and my message to everybody is stop panicking. Stop putting pressure onJeremy Corbyn. Hes demonstrating real leadership by seeking a consensus view across our party. Jeremy corbyn, change your mind it is notjust in labours top ranks where there is a discussion taking place over the partys brexit policy. Some members are calling for the party to take a stronger remain position. Others say the referendum result needs to be respected. But these two men will be key to how labour finally resolves this tricky debate. Meanwhile, the two tory leadership candidates have been outlining their spending plans. Borisjohnson said hed be prepared to borrow for great Infrastructure Projects and use financial headroom to invest and cut taxes. If you look at february alone, the chancellors revenues exceeded his expenditures by 4. 5 billion. In february, that is when people tend to pay tax. If you look at different months, actually you are in deficit. Believe me, there is cash now available. Are you prepared to see borrowing go up . I think at the moment, there is the headroom available and we intend to use it, and i also think that you can do some great things to stimulate Economic Growth with tax cuts. It was a simple question, are you prepared to see borrowing go up . If it is borrowing to finance Infrastructure Projects. VeryJohn Mcdonnell of you. And there is the opportunity to borrow at low rates to do things for the Long Term Benefit of the country, then we should do that. And jeremy hunt pledged to make Cutting Corporation tax a priority, warning that a no deal brexit would delay some spending pledges. A no deal brexit is not my first choice, but in the end, if the only way to leave the European Union is without a deal. Im sorry. Let me finish, andrew. If the only way to leave the European Union is without a deal, then i would do that and we will make a success of it and we will protect the union but we would have to be very sensitive to the concerns that people like David Mundell raised, because youre absolutely right, it would not be popular in scotland. I do not understand how it can both be the union first every time, and being prepared to endanger that by going for a no deal brexit. Those two things must be in contradiction . No, because it is not a question of choosing one or the other. It may well be. No, it is not. It is a question of choosing a Prime Minister who has the capability to deliver both. Our Political Correspondent chris mason explained that on the face of it, there doesnt seem to be much difference between the two candidates policies. The biggest distinction, both are making spending promises and talking about tax cuts, on the face of it that is a contradiction, but it is not always a contradiction, but you get that in political campaigns, the big distinction between them is around brexit and the tolerance or not to accept further delay to the idea of the uk departing the European Union. Borisjohnson saying clearly, do or die, the uk will leave on october the 31st, the current deadline, jeremy hunt saying there are circumstances in which he would be willing to delay if a deal was imminent. He acknowledges that a no deal brexit is something he would be willing to entertain. We will see more of these gentlemen over the next few weeks, three weeks until the process is complete. The ballot papers will go to conservative Party Members inside the next week. In mind, they will have the breakthrough that they saw with the brexit party in the european elections, and this question keeps coming back about would they be willing to do some sort of a deal if it came to that . The brexit party is clearly a big entity in terms of spooking the conservatives. It is central to the pitch of Boris Johnson throughout this race, he thinks he is the biggest electoral asset to the conservatives in taking on the brexit party and Jeremy Corbyn and labour, and the resurgent liberal democrats, in recent months. Jeremy hunt says he would be a better negotiator with brussels in terms of trying to get a better deal. Both are saying they would not work with nigel farage and the brexit party. They have argued that given their success in the European Parliament elections, they should be part of the negotiating team once a new government is put together next month. Conservatives from the grassroots up to the leadership candidates will look at the pictures we have shown you from birmingham a couple of moments ago and be very, very aware that if there is a general election soon, both contenders think they do not want one anytime soon, but it is not impossible to imagine a scenario in which one happens in the next year, but if brexit is not delivered, the brexit party could potentially perform very well and it would certainly frighten the conservatives and labour in terms of how well they could perform. The headlines on bbc News Donald Trump says its a great day for the world after he becomes the first serving us president to cross into north korea. A baby, delivered after its mother was stabbed to death, remains in a Critical Condition in hospital. Two men have been arrested on suspicion of murder. Protesters on the streets of khartoum demanding a return to civilian rule across sudan. The Prime Minister has arrived in brussels for what is expected to be her last European Council summit. Theresa may said she thought borisjohnsons do or die approach to the october brexit deadline was not the right way to go. This is likely to be my last eu council meeting, and obviously during the time that i have been attending these eu council meetings, we have been discussing some of the key challenges facing not just europe, but the wider world as well. And of course we have had some tough and long discussions about brexit, we have also talked about how we can protect and maintain our shared prosperity and security. And so for example, when we saw chemical weapons used on the streets of salisbury, there was a very strong, powerful, unified message sent from the uk and the 27 other Member States of the European Union through the expulsion of many so called russian diplomats. The uk has also been leading on the issue of climate change, where we need to ensure we have a better environment for the future. Tonight we will be discussing the issue of the jobs for those who head the eu institutions. I am looking forward to a constructive discussion. And of course once we leave the eu, our relationship with the 27 Member States will continue to be important. They are our closest neighbours and we will continue to facing the same challenges and wanting to work together, protecting our values. Is leaving on the 31st of october do or die the right approach . Well, i have always been very clear that the best approach for the uk is to first of all ensure we are delivering on the vote that took place in 2016, leaving the European Union, but that we do that with a good deal, so we can do it in an orderly way. I still think we negotiated a good deal. I wasnt going to get a majority in parliament for that deal. It will be up to my successor to get that majority, deliver on the vote and take us forward. Adam fleming is in brussels for us. The Prime Minister was speaking to you there. I the Prime Minister was speaking to you there. I wonder the Prime Minister was speaking to you there. I wonder what the Prime Minister was speaking to you there. I wonder what a the Prime Minister was speaking to you there. I wonder what a sense the Prime Minister was speaking to you there. I wonder what a sense you got from her about her feelings of this being her last summit and what she hopes to get out of it. Well, that was the entire interaction we had with theresa may. There was nothing extra to be gleaned from higher than what you suck there. It was interesting she was doing an arrival clip, summing up her role here at the council, balancing being a leaderfrom a party but here at the council, balancing being a leader from a party but having to stick to the rules of a club on the way out the door and talking about the response of the eu of the salisbury poisonings. She also feels as one of her big somatic triumphs and she wants to make sure we remember that as she is on the way out of the door. Big triumph. They are talking about the eus top jobs as they have come to be known. They need a replacement for donald tusk as the president of the European Council, new president of the parliament. They also need a new Foreign Policy chief and a new president of the European Central bank. All of the jobs are becoming va ca nt bank. All of the jobs are becoming vacant at roughly the same time. There is a lot of compromising going on because they want to balance geography, they countries with small countries, older countries with newer numbers, men and women and also party politics, between the right, left, the liberals and the greens. That haggling is proving very difficult. One thing that proves that, the start of the summit has been delayed by over one hour. Never usually a good sign. I gather they are even preparing breakfast in the talks go on that long. Ijust wonder what effect this has on the talks were brexit. I think it will have a little effect on brexit. That is because the people that have really been in the driving seat of the Brexit Process and the eu side are the leaders. They came together and wrote a blue print as the process should unfold, two days after the referendum in 2016 and has stuck to that test religiously since then. The deal they are prepared to do is the one that has been done. I think the room for manoeuvre is very constrained and it will not make a big difference to the people are in those jobs. It may make a difference for you and i as we observe the process and the chemistry might be different and it might be more of a change to the personalities, but i think the fundamentals of brexit on the eu side will not change. The fundamentals are, a departing country cannot have a relationship with the eu is as good as being in. Whatever the relationship is, it has to respect the integrity of the eus Single Market and eu law. That is not going to change, even if the faces change. One of the names they talked about as a new president is michel barnier, is even the names may not change very much. Adam, thank you very much. There are reports police have fired tea rgas at protesters in the sudanese capital khartoum. Tens of thousands of people are taking part in demonstrations across the country against the military government chanting civilian rule, civilian rule. These are the latest pictures from khartoum. Its the first day of mass protests since a violent crackdown on the third ofjune. Earlier i spoke to Mohanad Hashim from bbc africa whos been following todays events. This latest development is the sudanese basically listening to calls by the sudanese professionals association, the body that has been spearheading this protest movement for the last seven months, to come in their numbers to the streets to convey one particular message to the interim military council, and that is the demand for a hand over to a civilian administration. If you remember earlier injune, almost more than 100 people were killed, according to the opposition statements, when the Security Forces moved in to a sitting camp outside the military headquarters. The sit in site had been there for give or take two months since the ousting of president bashir back april. And is there any indication that the interim military council is showing any signs of being willing to move its position and give in to some of what the protesters are asking for . It is interesting you are asking that, ben. This evening, we are hearing that the military council has accepted the mediation proposals submitted by the African Union and the ethiopian government. However, it seems that the military strategy was, in the aftermath of the crackdown, to cut off the internet, stifle opposition rallies, and that all seems to have backfired. The word of mouth has managed to bring in hundreds of thousands onto the streets of the capital. And it is almost 6 20 in the evening in khartoum now and the protesters are still there in large numbers, hoping to reach the president ial palace. And the timing of the elections why does that make such a difference . For the opposition, they have asked for an interim period between three and four years so that they could dismantle the regime of Omar Al Bashir and do the necessary reforms required within the legislative and other institutions, so that they can pave the way for a transparent, democratic election at the end of that transition period. For the military council on their side and their backers, they seem to say that the quicker there is a public mandate backing an elected government, the country then can look to rebuild. But nine months is considered by the opposition to be too short of a space and that will allow for the former regime to maintain its control of the country. This weekend, weve had stormzy, the killers, kylie, and now Sir David Attenborough has headlined the pyramid stage at glastonbury. He made a surprise appearance on the main stage, not to perform but as part of the campaign against plastic in the oceans. That is more than a million bottles of water have not been drunk by you in plastic. Cheering thank you. Now on bbc news its time for sportsday. Im ben croucher. Thanks forjoining us on sportsday. Its been a tense and dramatic sporting sunday. Heres whats making the headlines. Its been a real humdinger in the cricket world cup between england and india. Can england cling on for a much needed victory . Max power. Verstappen storms through the pack to claim a memorable win at the austrian grand prix. Theres a surprise winner in the european games to as lauren smith and marcus ellis win badmintons british battle. Also coming up in the programme. Well be live in lyon as england ready themselves for another world cup semi final. And after watching his beloved liverpool lift a major title, we took kyle edmund to anfield to chat football and a bit of tennis too. Welcome along. Straight to edgbaston then where england are playing india in a pivotal match at the cricket world cup. The hosts set india 338 to win and its a nailbiting finale. Joe wilson is in birmingham for us. Joe, you talked yesterday about time running out for england at the world cup. Theyre just about ticking along now. It has been such a gripping, thrilling kind of afternoon here. Only in the last ten or 15 minutes have been able to take our breath and feel the game is concluded because india are about to face the last over. I think they need 44 but they are unlikely to score those runs. Weve got a trickle of indian supporters leaving. A great atmosphere around the ground and for much of their chase, we thought it was just about possible. Even when they needed ten or 11 runs an over. Lets give you a review of what has happened here today. It started with england winning the toss and having the opportunity to bat. That was very important after their nervy failures to chase down totals. Especially forJonny Bairstow, who opened again. Answering his cricket critics with a century 111 runs today. Great start for england, 160 for the first wicket and then when they needed some acceleration towards the end, and other influential endings from ben stokes. 79 today. In those defeats against sri lanka and australia, ben stokes held his head during those failed run chases are even. Some lovely shots, a switching reverse hit that almost defies description. A very strong total was reached but could india get off to a quick start . The a nswer to india get off to a quick start . The answer to that was known. The first ten overs and strong from a england bowling perspective but there was a strong partnership. A guy who scores double centuries by himself. He got it going to make his way towards a century but when he got the opportunity to keep things ticking over, it really was nervy and seemed possible. It took eight birmingham boy to get back into the bowling attack for england to change things up. We had seen chris woakes bowl right at the start of the innings very economically and take the first wicket but we will now see him take the key wicket. Chris woakes took a great catch on the edges. India could have got there. As it happens, they havent. I am looking towards my little screen to give a sense of what is happening and we are not quite over yet but it is over as a contest. England heading towards victory. Put into context what it means for a world cup chances . It was complicated, wasnt it . Essentially what will happen now is that england will jump essentially what will happen now is that england willjump over pakistan again, so they will be back into fourth place which is the final spot, which would get you to a semifinal. Pakistan have games to come and they might win both of them and bangladesh could still get in the reckoning. The key thing is that england keep their destiny in their own hands by winning this game and end with a possibility of winning their final end with a possibility of winning theirfinal game against end with a possibility of winning their final game against new zealand, guaranteeing their place in the semifinal. As eoin morgan said here yesterday, england could be world champions and that is still a theoretical possibility as we stand here right now. Many thanks for joining here right now. Many thanks forjoining us. Max verstappen produced a storming drive through the pack to win the austrian grand prix and end the mercedes run of victories in formula one this season. The red bull driver started slowly but a brilliant move on Charles Leclerc in the closing stages earned him a maiden win in 2019. Lewis hamilton could only finish fifth. Eleanor roper watched this one. As formula 1 travelled to austria, france stopped to remember nicky louder. Eight months on from his death and turn one of the red bull track has now been named the nickys turn. Looking for his seventh win in nine races, Lewis Hamilton started in force because of a penalty but a technical problem altered his progress. As verstappen made his way through the order, the fans lit up. He made it into second place, but could he catch leclerc . With two la ps to could he catch leclerc . With two laps to go, he was passed. Although the manoeuvre is being investigated. When Sebastian Vettel overtook hamilton, it made his bad day even worse. The first day this season he hasnt made the podium so if you are tired of the mercedes dominance, this at least provided some relief. After that start i thought the race was over but we kept pushing hard andi was over but we kept pushing hard and i saw that i had a bad flat on my first time. After the pit stop we we re my first time. After the pit stop we were flying. You could see on the straight we had good pace that we could make it past. Extremely happy for the whole team but also for honda. Wejust for the whole team but also for honda. We just started working together this year but to win here is incredible. There is still no news from the fia stewards regarding the investigation into verstappens overtaking move on leclerc. Well update you again at 7 30. Lets turn our attention to the other world cup now. Whilst the cricketers battle to make the semi finals, the womens footballers are already there. Theyre in lyon preparing to taking on defending champions usa in the womens world cup. Jane dougall is at the parc olympique in lyon for us. Jane, youve been hearing from both camps today. Yes. And let me tell you, both camps are very up for this match. Such an exciting semifinal. England against the defending champions here in this magnificent stadium in lyonjust the defending champions here in this magnificent stadium in lyon just as the pa system kicks in. They are playing katy perry which is a good for the lionesses. The coach said hes been waiting for this ever since he took the job. Jill ellis is actually english. She was asked in the lead up whether she felt at all english . A captain said she felt very american. She was also asked if she had stayed in england would she have had the same opportunities in england as she did in the us . I had zero opportunity to play foot ball i had zero opportunity to play football here so that is what america gave me, and environment to put on my first ever team uniform in terms of soccer and i always love the sport and now itjust kind of gave me a vehicle to kind of experience it even more. Now, one of the things that makes the semifinal so tasty is the individual matchups between players. Morgan against horton. But the individual matchup that phil neville was asked specifically about was lucy bronze, the player that he said was the best in the world, potentially up against megan rubino, the talisman. It might be rachel daly up against megan rubino, you never know. Rachel daly did really well and the ability of bronze to step in. Megan is someone from day one i have really admired. I rememberwhen someone from day one i have really admired. I remember when there was a ball that bounced on the touchline, i went to catch the ball and a stood came right through my watch and she hasnt paid me back for that what i liked about it, she didnt say sorry and she got on with it because she isa and she got on with it because she is a winner. Not the first time a player has put their studs through phil neville. This tournament has gathered such momentum and the visibility and the growth of the womens game seems to have grown massively as well. So much enthusiasm for it. Captain steph horton was asked how she felt the game was lifted globally via this tournament. Every time a game is being played we are told the viewing figures at home and for them to be record breaking for the last few games is fantastic for the last few games is fantastic for english football. The standard of the games, as phil neville has spoken about, has been exceptional and in terms of people coming through the crowds, coming to watch is in the stadium, hopefully it will be sell out in the semifinal so for us be sell out in the semifinal so for us to attract so may people do watch it and watching back at home and all over the world is unbelievable for the sport and without a doubt it is the sport and without a doubt it is the best womens world cup yet. It has been. The only thing about it is the temperature. The heat today has been oppressive. 37 degrees. England are training tomorrow in the morning and that is because it is slightly cooler and youve got to remember that tuesdays match is at 9pm local time, apm uk time so perhaps the temperature will have cooled down a little bit by then. Its the final day of the european games today. Great britain were guaranteed gold in the badminton mixed doubles but there was a surprise as marcus ellis and ellis smith pulled off a shock against commonwealth champions and compatriots chris and gabby adcock. 2114 219 the comfortable scoreline. The win will also count towards olympic qualification next year. This time tomorrow, the bubbly will be popped and the crowds will be tucking into strawberries and cream. It can only be wimbledon, of course. No andy murray in the singles draw again so kyle edmund will carry the hopes for the british men. In an exclusive interview, our Sports CorrespondentDavid Ornstein joined edmund on a tour of his Favourite Football Club liverpool and found out that the british number one is more nervous watching football than he is playing tennis. Theres a point where you really have to start believing it if you want to do it. Kyle edmund has lofty ambitions, inspired by the Football Team he follows, the british mens tennis number onejoined me on a visit to liverpool. Its amazing how big it is. Home of the european champions. The bottom line is you are never considered great or, you know, good in peoples minds without silverware. I think thats just the nature of sport and looking at these guys winning trophies who have been so consistent throughout these years, its impressive but there is a time now when those guys are going to be coming out of it and there is a gap to be filled and its down to me to do it. Born in south africa but raised in yorkshire, edmund has been a lifelong liverpool fan. And who better to get advice from than the man who has guided the reds to a sixth european title . My father was a tennis coach. I played a lot of tennis in my childhood and one of the first things on my bucket list when i had my break was going to wimbledon once, having strawberries with the cream and stuff like that. Everyone turns on the tvs at that time of year and the first name you go to is obviously the british number one. Thats where the expectation is and andy has done very well for so long and it shows how well he did to cope with it and how much sort of pressure and expectation was on him but, you know, now its me and its my turn. In his 111 year career, andy murray reached the top of the world rankings. Edmunds highest position is 14th and at wimbledon he is seeded 30th. While marie has won three grand slams and two olympic golds, edmund made last years Australian Open semifinals but aged 2a, he has plans to go further. I wish you luck for wimbledon. A lot more nervous when im watching football than i am playing tennis. Going out at centre court youre obviously nervous and excited but you know youre in control of what youre doing and youve done it so many times but in football you are out of control, youve just got to watch and hope. He will also hope not to be hampered by a recent knee injury. Maybe one day when your career is done and dusted, you might be back here as a season ticket holder. When my career is done and i get the chance to go every saturday i would maybe do it but the waiting list is so long i dont know if ive got a chance to get one. As a wimbledon champion you might jump a few places on the list. Well see. Edmund will be third up on centre Court Tomorrow against jaume munar of spain. He follows us and aussie open champion naomi osaka and defending mens champion novak djokovic. Kicking off action on court 1 is simona halep. Exciting german Alexander Zverev follows with 15 year old coco gauff taking on 39 year old venus williams. Thats all from sportsday. England have beaten india. Now time for the travel show next. This week on the show. Getting mckee in the name of conservation in thailand. And going under in austria. We are starting this week in thailand on the small coastal village, 90 minutes south west of bangkok. Few International Travellers travel here but in recent yea rs, travellers travel here but in recent years, the amazing transformation of its ecosystem has begun to draw people like me. It may not be the most beautiful ecosystems but it is full of life. Birds and macaws, all kinds of wildlife here. There is a monkey right here. With a crab in its mouth. This place is quite an experience. Here in what looks like an endless sea of mud, there are local delicacies and people who have fought back from the brink of disaster. I arranged to meet up with a local guide to show me around. All morning at low tide, they push like they are on a skateboard and they pick the cockles and clams. And i hear that travellers can give ita and i hear that travellers can give it a try as well. A local fisherman is on hand to show me how its done. On allfours . Is on hand to show me how its done. On all fours . Chauffeur service. Is on hand to show me how its done. On all fours . Chauffeurservice. Not bad at all. The murder is so slick and slippery, one little push and you go pretty far. But then finding cockles is no easy task. This. This is a cockle, the size of a marble. We are finding this little tiny glam on these mud flats. Look at that, its tiny. Well, after an hour even i managed to find some cockles but the fishing here hasnt a lwa ys cockles but the fishing here hasnt always been so good. The shellfish, shrimps and crabs which thrive in this environment were almost on the brink of collapse just a few decades ago because of the dramatic loss of one simple thing mangroves. Industrial shrimp farming left the angry forest decimated and with it a fragile ecosystem the villages depended upon to survive. But the local people began to fight back. He helped bring hundreds of people from nearby villages to replant the mangroves. Eventually their work began to pay off and it caught the attention of royalty. 0k, ok, when ok, when i knew ok, when i knew i was going to be planting mangroves i brought hiking boots for Waterproof Properties but a p pa re ntly boots for Waterproof Properties but apparently this is not the footwear of choice. We wear these, a fusion of choice. We wear these, a fusion ofa of choice. We wear these, a fusion of a womans brassiere and yoga pa nts. Of a womans brassiere and yoga pants. I put these on my feet, almost waist deep in the med and this is how we plant mangroves. Im ready. Three, two, one. This is really. I am ready. Three, two, one. This is really. Iam knee ready. Three, two, one. This is really. I am knee deep and im still sinking further. How does it work . Ive got one. So, dig a hole . And you plant it in, just like a normal tree. All right. Over 32 yea rs normal tree. All right. Over 32 years since the replanting began, the forest has regained a third of what was lost. A fun fact these trees are actually shaped this way like a torpedo because when they fall from the trees they go like this and they are supposed to plant themselves. Mangrove forest, one step bigger. Much of this area is now under royal protection, meaning that the new mangrove forest cant be destroyed and the village has become a model for those working to protect and restore their mangrove forest. Maybe tourists arent the best people to help restore this fragile ecosystem. Id heard that a healthy mangrove forest needs a range of species in order to survive, which tourists cant really coordinate. And of course, there is more than one way to get clean after a day exploring the mangroves. Am told that years ago, local kids found another use for these boards. Its great to give Something Back when youre travelling but even better if you can have a little fun along the way. Now we are in austria where beneath the eyes of the southern lake, a well known game gets an icy makeover. Iama i am a professional free diver. It means without equipment, with just a mask and the air in your lungs. It was a dream from my childhood. At the beginning when i did my first world record in free diving i was so fascinated that i was looking for something to go again under the ice. Then we find the idea of ice hockey that you have to work hard for even on the land. And it was so much fun that we make a regulation about it. In one World Championship we had eight different nations and in each nation we have two players. Ready . The main problem is always to find other players because a normal hockey player makes no sense under the eyes because you need very good free divers. It is already a big challenge to go under the ice because it is about the temperature and orientation. You cant go to the surface whenever you want and it is a very quick game. Because it is quick you need much more oxygen. I cant break my arms and legs so it is much safer under the ice. The only problem we have is that we can easily lose the orientation. You a lwa ys easily lose the orientation. You always have to calculate that you had to swim to the whole. You cannot wait until you need air because at that moment you cannot get it. For me it makes no difference if i have ten or 11 World Records. Now i want to use my World Records to bring attention to all the problems we have with the ocean. And now the problems have hampered the world record attempt. If you wa nt to the world record attempt. If you want to play against me at ice hockey under the ice, you are more than welcome. Of course, despite the invitation from christian, dont even think about doing underwater ice hockey without expert help and supervision. Some reasonable weather coming up this week.
