We ran behind the ball. We will never regain that ball, and everyone is committed, everyone is ready to make his efforts, and that is why. And of course, winning 50 games in a row has never before havent, it gives us a lot of confidence, and we can do it. And, well, it is not often that teams score as many as city this season. Well, the third ashes test will begin in perth in the next few hours. Australia have a 2 0 lead in the best of five series, so a win would see them regain the urn. The hosts have reason to feel confident. They havent lost to england at the waca since 1978. Our correspondent andy swiss is there, and sent this report. Well, welcome to the waca, where england and australia have been fine tuning their preparations ahead of what is potentially decisive test match in this. England know that defeat here and the ashes hopes are over and they have hardly had the ideal world up, with yet another disciplinary controversy involving the lions batsman, then ducat, who has been suspended after tipping a drink overjimmy hendersons head in a bar last week. Despite all that, joe root was in up the mood when he spoke earlier on. He says he believes england can still find a way back into the series. It is an opportunity to create history. It is a real chance to flip the dynamics of this series on its head. And if we come away 2 1 from this game, and it does blow the series wide open. Well, as for australia, they still have one selection issue to resolve, batsman peter handscombs place is under threat. He could be replaced bya under threat. He could be replaced by a Allrounder Mitchell marsh, rather of shaun marsh. That would give australia another bowling option as well. Rubber. They have an incredible record at this ground. They have not lost a test match at the waca since 1978, but even so, theircaptain, the waca since 1978, but even so, their captain, steve smith, says his tea m their captain, steve smith, says his team are taking nothing for granted. For us it is about the message that i have said to the boys is dont get complacent. You know, keep playing really good, hard, aggressive cricket and doing the basics really well. And if we do that on this wicket then hopefully we will get the result we are after at the end of this week. Yes, australia with another opportunity to seal another ashes triumph on home soil. Now, this is the last ever ashes test here at the waca. They will be playing at a new stadium here in perth. England, though, will be hoping that they can spoil the Farewell Party and keep this ashes series alive. The International Cricket council is investigating claims that indian bookmakers offered to fix the third ashes test in perth. The Sun Newspaper in britain says a gang, working with an australian called the silent man, was charging up to 185,000 to influence the match, which begins in a few hours time. No england players were named as being involved, but the gang claimed to have recruited one former australian player. In a statement, the icc said these are serious allegations, and of grave concern. We welcome the suns offer to share the information they have, so we can instigate a full investigation and, where appropriate, involve Law Enforcement agencies, and this process is already underway. In the womens race, us veteran and standings leader Lindsey Jacobellis was first over the line, ahead of Chloe Trespeuch of france and Michela Moioli of italy. But, from me and the rest of the sport today team, goodbye. Well, after a very brief mild spell, those temperatures are coming down again for the next few days, and into the start of the weekend. And for thursday, its low pressure which dominates the scene. Tightly packed isoba rs across the country meaning fairly windy, and theyll be blowing in lots of showers, particularly to Western Areas of the country. And these showers will be of a wintry mix during the overnight period and first thing on thursday. Some snow to the Higher Ground of scotland, northern ireland, northern england, wales, maybe the south west of england, and some wet sleetiness down to lower levels for a time, too. So, first thing on thursday, we are again looking at an ice risk, particularly from the midlands, north wales northwards, so watch out for these. There could even be some lying snow around on some of the higher routes, for example the pennines and across scotland. But we start thursday off on quite an unsettled note. Its going to be windy, especially in the west, gales on exposure, showers here and wintry over high ground and wintry showers in parts of wales, the north west england. Ice to watch out for, too. Largely dry to start in eastern and south eastern parts, early sunshine around but quite chilly. The same east of the pennines and eastern scotland. But further west, loads of showers and again some heavy and even sleetiness down to lower levels as well. And then, through the day, very little change. It stays blustery, i think the winds slowly easing down through the day. Theyll continue to be strong in the north and the south west, with gales here. Plenty of showers with wintryness again over Higher Ground and central and eastern parts of the country should be drier, with some sunshine. But notice the temperatures down on wednesdays values, in single figures for all. Its going to feel cold if you add on the wind. Then, as we head on in towards friday, we open the floodgates again to the arctic as this area of low pressure moves across in towards scandinavia. So it does mean a cold and frosty start in places for friday, and also a risk of some ice. But i think, generally speaking, friday is looking like a quieter day, more in the way of sunshine around, lighter winds for many. Still fairly breezy around the coasts, where well see wintry showers at times. Now, that cold air is with us obviously through friday and into the start of the weekend. But then, for the second half of the weekend, well start to see this plume of mild air making inroads slowly. A cold start on saturday, watch out for ice. Sunshine around through the morning. I think thats slowly fading as more cloud piles in from the west, maybe a few showers, and its going to be another cold day. On sunday, more cloud generally, sunshine will be very few and far between, and there will be a few showers, but that milder air slowly making inroads.
