It comes to coverage of President Trump. We know its angle, as it were. They are talking about his visit to china. I think it is an interesting story. It talks about the idea that china is on some sort of parity with the us, and by a lot of parity with the us, and by a lot of economic measures, by 2030 there economy will be bigger than the american economy. So there is that serious background to this. Then there is a certain irony that as communist party princeling, just re elected as head of the communist party, and this wheeler dealer, this rash wheeler dealer that the New York Times loves to poke fun at, meeting together and getting a message out. On the i hander will trump has been very critical of some Chinese Business especially when it comes to trade. 0n the other hand, he has to engage with china, especially this thorny issue of north korea and the nuclear question. It is quite interesting. Presidency jinking question. It is quite interesting. Presidencyjinking went to the United States. President xi jinping. He met President Trump at his residence in florida. Since then, things have changed a lot between the two countries. And also for the two residents. President trump is having a very tough time at home, getting very little through in terms of his own key changes and policy. Yet xijinping, his terms of his own key changes and policy. Yet xi jinping, his status and power has been elevated to that of chairman mao. Absolutely. A fascinating situation which contrasts so wonderfully, this wonderfully mercurial figure of donald trump, and a very steady, almost waxen image of chinese modern third way communism. We shall watch with great interest. This, we put this in specifically, because you are here, you are a specialist in the area of the middle east, saudi arabia, yemen. The bbc looking at the conflict and the likes of the us cents on looking at his catastrophic situation in yemen, millions in need of life saving aid. The Un Security Council is discussing this today. Yes, we have seen huge levels of Colorado Stop huge levels of mortality. We shouldnt use the word mortality, these deaths. These are the result of the ongoing conflict which bubbles along like a weeping sore. For those of us who watched this region it has been a very dramatic few days. What has happened in the run up to this blockade on yemen has been monumental. Focusing particularly on yemen at the moment, this does not show any signs of going away. It will be interesting to see the un response. We have had some criticism from the un. It seems to support the saudi accusation that iran is supplying weapons to the rebels. As we know, over the weekend, a weapon was allegedly fired at riyadh, which was then shot out of the sky by the Saudi Defence forces. That dedicated this blockade. The humanitarian angle, regardless of the politics, is grim. But it is the politics which is preventing any sort of forward inking as faras preventing any sort of forward inking as far as yemen is concerned, isnt it . Thinking. You look at saudi arabia, the saudi purge, donald trump on air force one, saying that they want to see this listing in new york, you have the uk trying to get as much business out of saudi arabia as possible. From an international perspective, it is more about what they can get out of saudi arabia, as opposed to putting pressure on saudi arabia. Absolutely, and you cannot help but think we are living in this area of real politic which is pretty hardline. Real politic which is pretty ha rdline. Realpolitik. Real politic which is pretty hardline. Realpolitik. You have to do business with certain people and have to put up with elements you might not like about their policy making. Might not like about their policymaking. Lets look at the internal politics in the united kingdom. Another challenge for Prime Minister theresa may. She has already lost one cabinet minister in just the last week. It looks like priti patel, some might say she has to go as well. In a sense, many of the papers, remember, the daily telegraph, for our international viewers, is very much a supporter of the conservative party. This is an interesting angle. It asks, how much does a minister have to do to get the sack. This is quite interesting. This is somebody who has contravened all the standards of ministerial conduct, yet showers, at the moment, getting away with it. Talking about the disputed Golden Heights on a private trip will send alarm bells off the intelligence community, the government, and everybody else. Golan heights. Wall street banks warned trump team of fears of a rising brexit chaos. What do you make of this story . Every day we have a brexit warning, a brexiteer story. Your thoughts . Interestingly, ijust got story. Your thoughts . Interestingly, i just got that from talking to some mexicans who argued exactly the same about nafta and the uncertainty that United States is putting out there. We have to balance this out. Pots and kettles. Undoubtedly, if you are and kettles. Undoubtedly, if you are a big banks, headquartered in london for your european business, you would be very concerned about passporting writes. You would be concerned about the post brexit deal. 0ne concerned about the post brexit deal. One year into negotiations and we have not really had much. All i would say is that this comes at that time for theresa may, who is embattled, as we have seen in the previous story. At a bad time. At the same time, you are a banker, the opposition injeremy corbyn, who espouses venezuelan style socialism for the espouses venezuelan style socialism forthe uk, espouses venezuelan style socialism for the uk, would cause even bigger alarm for the banks. Speaking of courses for alarm, are you alarmed about getting in a taxi without a human in it . A driverless taxi . This is what waymo is testing now in arizona. In phoenix. They are on the streets, these driverless taxis. A p pa re ntly streets, these driverless taxis. Apparently google have been doing this for seven years. They have really stolen the march on the big majors like audi. I quite like the idea, i have to say. It doesnt worry you that there is no human day to ta ke worry you that there is no human day to take the wheel is nothing if something goes wrong . Of course it does, but you have to embrace change. I recognise that i have a luddite in me, which i have to counter. An interesting business angle, how do you ensure a d riverless angle, how do you ensure a driverless car . Well, this was in the press a couple of days ago. We we re the press a couple of days ago. We were talking about this in the uk, they are looking at the insurance angle of the business, when it comes to d riverless angle of the business, when it comes to driverless vehicles. Because that isa to driverless vehicles. Because that is a big issue. Absolutely. Notjust insurance, the whole issue of everything. Infrastructure, the whole story. I think while this is the future, there is an awful lot of infrastructure around it, at every angle, that will need to be put in place for this to be a reality. All right. We talked about snapchat and twitter before. We have had so many tweets from viewers who have been getting in touch with us. I want to share some of them with you. John says, iam share some of them with you. John says, i am a user of twitter and linkedin, but not the others. Two are enough for me. We have jamie saying that the users on snapchat are not a small feat. The issue is that snapchat has not really comprise their user experience. I am sure that soon they will be adding on services that help them on a tyre is. On services that help them on a tyre is. Help them monitori on services that help them on a tyre is. Help them monitor i is. Monetise. Give us your take on this, which social Media Services are the most user friendly, which are the most user friendly, which are the most useful . I use twitter a lot, because i followed the news, probably like you. I keep facebook for personal use. I look at instagram for personal use. And linkedin is for business use. It comes down to functionality. It comes down to functionality. It comes down to what you use. One of the criticisms of snapchat is this user interface. It is obviously not as smooth as it could be. If it is appealing to young people, presumably a lot of people in the developing world, with a blossoming population. The issue is, as my previous guest said, facebook has gone to war with snapchat. This is the real worry, that these Smaller Companies will eventually not be able to compete with the likes of facebook. That is monopolising. Able to compete with the likes of facebook. That is monopolisingm isa facebook. That is monopolisingm is a david and goliath scenario. If you fall on the wrong side of facebook, woe betide you. Oliver, great to have you with us. Lets just mention a couple more. Jamie, you are watching us in new delhi. Thanks for your tweet. It is difficult to some platforms, says jamie, snapchat has to add services that help users live better. And we have greg in the media. I mentioned you already. He says he is a big fan of facebook and twitter as well. Thanks so much for all your comments today. We have of course got all the latest Business News and sport coming up at the top of the hour, but for me, for now, it is goodbye. See you soon. Well, the skies across Northern Britain cleared upjust in time for a spectacular light show. We have had some pretty great pictures of the Aurora Borealis coming in. One from the outer hebrides. I love this green one from argyll and bute. A stunning one here from cumbria as well. A lot of clear skies across the northern uk. That means there is going to be a touch of frost. Chilly air out there right now, but not everywhere. In fact, across east anglia and the south east, this is where we still have that weather front, moving across the uk during tuesday, which has ended up across east anglia and the south east. For norwich and london, temperatures around maybe four, five, six degrees, those sorts of values. For the rest of the uk, out in the countryside, it could be as low as minus four degrees. So some mist and fog around as well, but generally speaking, lots of clear weather. However, anglia and the south east could be gloomy and drizzly in the morning. The weather will improve here, but it will take time for that cloud to break up. The rest of the country, beautiful and sunny. Light winds, crisp, fresh, misty and places. Carlisle still around freezing at eight oclock. This is the next area of rain that is moving into the outer hebrides. Probably by the time we get to the morning that will nudge on. Wet and windy again, it will reach Northern Ireland eventually. Many areas of england, you can see that beautiful sunshine. On wednesday, still a bit of cloud left over in east anglia and the south east. Lets look at wednesday night. This entire weather front needs to move across the uk, wednesday night into thursday. Again, cloud and light rain around. Wednesday night will not be cold. Frost free across the uk. Thursday afternoon, some sunshine around as well, not a bad day, not a perfect day either. Overall, not looking too bad. Towards the end of the week it will be quite unsettled. The winds will be strong across northern areas. Lots of isobars here. One weather front moving through, and another one on friday, bringing rainfall to the south. So friday will be wet. Saturday, should be out of the way. And we are in the clear. The thinking is that after an unsettled end to the week the weekend will be bright and breezy with showers. But it is going to feel on the chilly side. Goodnight.
