Définition et Explications - L'ancienne abbaye de Fontmorigny, dans le Cher, est située à une vingtaine de km à l'ouest de Nevers, était une abbaye cistercienne d'hommes. Elle fut fondée en 1149 sur les instances de Saint Bernard. Au Moyen Age, les moines tirent parti des ressources naturelles du site qui connait un important essor économique, grâce à la sidérurgie.
