Plans to transform Barrow’s town centre will continue, despite it losing out on a £22 million Government bid.
Town chiefs submitted a blueprint to regenerate Barrow to the Government’s Future High Streets Fund in July, but it has been confirmed that it was rejected.
However, ministers have confirmed Barrow has not been selected to receive a grant from the fund by the Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government.
