Barbados’ Concacaf Gold Cup journey suffered a premature ending as they went down 8-1 to Bermuda in their crucial qualifier at the DRV PNK Stadium in Fort Lauderdale on Friday night.
The Tridents conceded four goals in either half including the fastest goal in Gold Cup history, scored by Bristol City striker Nahki Wells 17 seconds after kick off.
Concerned about a possible offside, Canadian referee Drew Fischer consulted the Virtual Assistant Referee (VAR) who deemed the goal to be a fair one.
