School evacuated after small fire breaks out
PUPILS and teachers were evacuated from a city school earlier today after a fire broke out.
Fire crews attended to extinguish the fire which is understood to have occurred in a bin in the boys' toilets at Bannerman High School in Baillieston today.
The incident happened shortly before 10.50 am and members of staff raised the alarm quickly. Three fire engines attended and extinguished the small fire.
The children were then able to return to school and continue with their work within half an hour.
A spokeswoman for Scottish Fire and Rescue said: "At 10.48 am on Tuesday, May 4 we were alerted by the fire activation alarm system at Bannerman High School, Baillieston, Glasgow.
