Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Dhaka Marathon 2021, which has been arranged to mark the historic Homecoming Day of Bangabandhu on January 10, is scheduled to be held today. Bangladesh Army is organizing the event in collaboration with the National Implementation Committee and the overall coordination of the Armed Forces, marking the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Some 100 runners including 37 foreign runners from France, Kenya, Ethiopia, Bahrain, Belarus, Ukraine and Morocco and SAFF nations -- India, Maldives, Nepal and Pakistan will take part here. The event, which will be held in two divisions -- men and women, will start from Army Stadium at 6:30am and will end in Hatirjheel area. The route: Bangladesh Army Stadium - Kakoli Rail Crossing Kemal Atatürk Avenue - Gulshan 2 - Gulshan 1 - Police Plaza - Hatirjheel.
