Ashley Coupal has danced her way to her dreams and, now, into the record books.
The 18-year-old North Vancouver ballerina has been named a winner at the prestigious Prix du Lausanne international ballet competition for younger performers. She’s only the second Canadian female to be named a winner at the prestigious event in its 49-year history. Typically, this is a destination competition in Switzerland for the best-and-brightest in classical dance across the globe. This year’s event was held virtually due to the pandemic.
