A baby has died and another girl was injured in a serious car crash Monday afternoon.It happened about 12:30 p.m. at South 34th Street and West Greenfield Avenue in Milwaukee.Police said a 4-year-old girl and a 3 1/2 month-old girl were taken to Children’s Wisconsin for treatment.The older girl suffered serious injuries.The baby was listed in critical condition.She died Wednesday.Police said a 35-year-old man was speeding and attempted to pass a vehicle when he lost control and struck an unoccupied parked vehicle.A 27-year-old woman in his car also suffered serious injuries and was taken to the hospital.Investigators said the driver was not injured.He was arrested at the scene on suspicion of operating under the influence causing great bodily harm.Criminal charges will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.Police said the crash was caused by reckless driving and the children were not properly restrained in the vehicle.The suspect's name was not released.The names of the victims have also not been released.Investigators did not say how any of those involved were related.No other details were immediately available.
