The provincial government is planning a long-term economic strategy with the advice of a world-renowned scholar of economics and innovation.
Minister of Jobs, Economic Recovery and Innovation Ravi Kahlon said Mariana Mazzucato will advise government on “the future of the economy as B.C. develops a long-term economic plan that will steer the province through the post-pandemic era.”

“We are looking at how we can build on the strengths of our economy while giving priority to the social, cultural and environmental values that people in this province care about,” said Kahlon. “This will be set out in an economic plan that will look beyond the economic recovery initiatives supported by ‘Stronger B.C.’ and the ‘Restart Plan.’ It will support a new and inclusive approach to economic growth.”
