A non-league football club in Bucks will be boycotting social media over the Bank Holiday Weekend due to online racism.
Aylesbury United, who currently ground share with Chesham United, will not use any of their platforms in Twitter, Facebook and Instagram from 3pm on Friday, April 30 to 11.59am Monday, May 3.
This is due to players who play at all levels across the country being racially abused through the internet.
Aylesbury United's tweet
We stand with the football community to urge social media companies to do more to tackle abuse, hate, and discrimination — at all levels of the football pyramid.
We will join the boycott of Twitter, Facebook and Instagram from 3pm on Friday 30 April to 11.59pm on Monday 3 May. https://t.co/3NAMLP3njk— Aylesbury United FC (@AylesburyUtdFC) April 26, 2021
