Gideon Del Rio grew up in a home that was Catholic, homophobic and transphobic.
So he understands where you’re coming from if you’re shocked that transgender youth seek hormone therapy or horrified to know that trans adults want sex-reassignment surgery.
Del Rio felt the same way when saw comedian Eddie Izzard do stand-up in high heels and women’s makeup.
Some Texas Republicans have taken those feelings to the extreme. They’d be more comfortable if fellow Texans like Del Rio or Brits like Izzard weren’t so verbal, so “out,” about helping others understand themselves and their bodies.
