Labourer Jordan Castrey has been jailed after arming himself with an axe in a town centre confrontation.
The 24-year-old grabbed the weapon during the row with a work-mate outside The Oddfellows Arms, in Tower Square, Tunstall.
But he was disarmed by his mum and arrested by police.
