Autopsy confirms Fred Cox died from bullet wounds
The official release of Fred Cox's autopsy has resulted in new calls for the State Bureau of Investigation to release its report about the shooting death of the slain High Point teenager.
Civil rights attorney Benjamin Crump and a handful of other activists and community members held a press conference on Monday to discuss the autopsy recently conducted and released by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. The report, according to the family, largely corroborates their depiction of events surrounding the shooting death of 18-year-old Fred Cox by a plain-clothes Davidson County police officer.
