A little more than a year ago, bass angler Willie âDoodleâ Adkins wouldnât have been able to use his left arm to lift a tournament trophy. Doctors reconstructed the badly broken limb, and Adkins used it to win the BASS Nation Southeast Regional tournament in Georgia.

An X-ray of Adkinsâ left arm shows where surgeons at West Virginia University were able to replace the lower part of his upper arm and build a hinge joint that would allow Adkins to bend his arm and, ultimately, begin casting bass lures again.
