Auto accident helps Wayne angler make it to B.A.S.S. Nation finals

A little more than a year ago, bass angler Willie “Doodle” Adkins wouldn’t have been able to use his left arm to lift a tournament trophy. Doctors reconstructed the badly broken limb, and Adkins used it to win the BASS Nation Southeast Regional tournament in Georgia.

An X-ray of Adkins’ left arm shows where surgeons at West Virginia University were able to replace the lower part of his upper arm and build a hinge joint that would allow Adkins to bend his arm and, ultimately, begin casting bass lures again.
