WORCESTER — According to the most recent figures, there are 331,002,651 people living in the United States. Susan Mara Bregman is one of about 331,000,651 who have never rolled a strike in candlepin bowling.
Unlike most of those millions, she has at least tried. It just hasn’t happened yet. That has not, however, dampened her enthusiasm for the quixotic game that was invented on Pearl Street in this city more than a century ago.
She has just written a book about the sport, “New England Candlepin Bowling,” put out by Arcadia Publishing.
