Pharmacies and workplaces are set to start delivering Covid vaccine jabs in a major military-style escalation of the government's rollout program.
High street chemists will join GPs at the pandemic frontline along with big banks, mining companies and other private businesses under the new strategy by Covid vaccine czar, Lieutenant-General John Frewen.
He was brought in by Prime Minister Scott Morrison three weeks ago to turn around the stalled vaccine rollout which has so far seen just 7.1 per cent of the Australian population fully vaccinated.
Pharmacies started rolling out the jab earlier this month when Foote's Pharmacies in Boonah became the first in Australia to deliver the vaccine on June 6.
