Australian Oaks on the table for Amarelinha

Emerging Kiwi superstar Amarelinha will be given every chance to book a flight across the Tasman for a Group 1 Australian Oaks tilt this autumn.
Owners Te Akau Racing confirmed their autumn plans for the Jamie Richards-trained filly which would leave the passage open for a trip to take on Australia’s best three-year-old staying fillies.
Connections elected against paying a late entry fee for Group 1 New Zealand Derby in favour of keeping Amarelinha against her own sex in the Group 3 Sunline Vase, staged on the same day at Ellerslie on March 6.
A date with the Group 1 New Zealand Oaks (2400m) at Trentham will follow on March 20 before Te Akau makes a final call on a trip to Australia.
