A Formula One Team owner has revealed the Australian Grand Prix will be postponed ahead of an official announcement.
Aston Martin team owner Lawrence Stroll said the Melbourne event will be moved from March 18 towards the end of the F1 season in the Australian spring (or autumn in the Northern Hemisphere).
Bahrain will replace Melbourne as the opening race in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic and quarantine restrictions in Australia.
It comes after the 2020 Grand Prix was completely cancelled due to the pandemic less than two hours before cars were set to hit the track for the first practice session on March 13 last year.
