A desire to “pay it forward” has prompted a changing of the guard at one of New Zealand’s most celebrated restaurants, with Sid and Chand Sahrawat selling their fine dining establishment Sidart.
Established in Auckland in 2009, Sidart will change hands in September, with the Sahrawat’s passing the keys over to chef and long-time friend Lesley Chandra.

The couple decided to vendor finance Chandra, who previously worked at Sidart, to help him realise his dream of owning his own restaurant, and allow the couple to afford him the same opportunity they were given when they first opened Sidart.
