Auckland lawyer who laundered money for Comanchero Motorcycle Club granted parole

Simpson, who is now 43, appeared on March 2 in front of the Parole Board, where parole was granted.
“We are satisfied that Mr Simpson does not present a significant risk to the safety of the community and has now a good grasp of what he needs to do to safely conduct himself in the future,” the decision said.
In January, at an earlier hearing, Simpson was declined parole after the board was concerned he wanted to return to working as a lawyer in five years and had not had the opportunity to engage in treatment.
