Attempted murder charged in Glastonbury stabbing at home of wealthy businessman

GLASTONBURY — A wealthy businessman convicted of involvement in a sex-trafficking ring that preyed on young men was stabbed in his home, his lawyer says.
Anthony Spinella, the lawyer for Bruce Bemer, confirmed that Bemer was the person stabbed in what police described as a family violence incident, and said he is going to be OK.
Police charged Jason McCormick, 47, who also lives at 215 Sherwood Drive, with attempted murder. He is facing additional charges of first-degree assault of an elderly person and second-degree threatening.
McCormick is being held in lieu of $500,000 bond and is to appear in Vernon Superior Court today.
