Athol Historical Society undertakes tree planting and improvement project

ATHOL — Thanks to a donation from retired graphic designer Mary Pat Spaulding, formerly of Athol, the lawn at Athol Historical Society will have two new purple leaf plum trees at the front of the building.
The historical society also planted two sugar maples at the side of the building in memory of Howard Wilson, longtime historical society president, and Russell Kennedy, longtime vice-president, according to Debra Ellis, historical society treasurer.
