Tristan Ross Locke was found guilty last month of murdering Mark Cowling last Father's Day, in the High Court in Christchurch.
The trial heard Locke, who's on the autism spectrum, was incensed when Cowling phoned noise control, and had at least twice cut power to his flat - and went next door and stabbed him.
Locke was sentenced to life imprisonment today.
