Assemblywoman Sharon Quirk-Silva (D – Fullerton) continues to assist the elderly and homeowners through funding provided by state agencies. Both the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) and the California Health Facilities Financing Authority (CHFFA) have provided funding for various programs.
The CHFFA recently awarded Community SeniorServ, Inc. a HELP II Loan in the amount of $1,490,000. The HELP II Loan Program, administered by CHFFA, provides low interest loans up to 1,500,000 to nonprofit health facilities. These funds provide much needed capital to small facilities that often have difficulty accessing funds to care for our underserved and vulnerable population. Furthermore, the City of Cypress was awarded the Local Early Action Planning (LEAP) program grant in the amount of $150,000 to help provide funding to accelerate much needed housing production and create strong healthy, and resilient communities with affordable housing. This funding was possible through the Governor’s 2019-20 Budget Act.
