GOSHEN - State Assemblyman Jonathan Jacobson announced Thursday that the recently passed state budget includes $27 million for the state and county boards of elections to fund voting reforms.
Jacobson made the announcement at the Orange County Board of Elections, with elections commissioners Louise Vandermark of Orange County, Ashley Dittus of Ulster County and Hannah Black of Dutchess County.
"Across the country, from Arizona to Georgia, state legislatures are working to disenfranchise voters and restrict their residents' access to the ballot box," Jacobson said. "But since January of 2018, we in New York have significantly expanded voting rights and opportunities for all New Yorkers."
