assembly elections: 18+ MPs in fray: Several state bypolls could come up in 6 months

The Election Commission (EC) faces a unique challenge as a record number of 18 Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MPs are contesting assembly elections in five states, with more expected to join. This could result in a significant number of bypolls within six months of the elections.
