assam madrassa education: Assam govt changes nomenclature of all govt & provincialised Madrassas that were converted to general schools

The Assam government has changed the names of 1281 government and provincialized Madrassas that were converted to general schools. The Gauhati High Court dismissed a writ petition filed by 13 petitioners, stating that the claim that these Madrasas are minority institutions is not acceptable. The Assam government has converted all government-run Madrassas into Upper primary, high school, and higher secondary schools.
