GUWAHATI: In view of the rise in Covid-positive cases in the capital city of Assam again, the Kamrup (Metro) district administration has constituted a task force to ensure strict enforcement of Covid-19 protocols to curb the spread. Deputy commissioner of the district, Biswajit Pegu, told the media that one additional deputy commissioner has been assigned with the force.
The development came following an instruction of health minister Keshab Mahanta to the DC to take necessary steps in the matter. "Most people have left wearing face masks. They are not even maintaining minimum physical distancing. For these reasons, there is a rise in Covid-19 cases again. We have to be strict so that we can prevent the virus from spreading any more,” Pegu said.
