Aspiring gardeners help prepare Grounds for Sculpture exhibit for spring

“And sometimes it’s just really hard work,” said Napoli, Grounds For Sculpture horticulturalist.
On a cold and dreary Monday, when the ground was wet and still partially snow-covered, gardening was decidedly hard work.
Napoli was leading a handful of determined and aspiring gardeners, all wearing masks, of course, in a workshop at Grounds For Sculpture — a 42-acre sculpture park and museum in Hamilton — on learning how to cut back grasses and plants in preparation for Spring. And it wasn’t a level playing field.
All the work this day was done by Napoli, Grounds For Sculpture assistant horticulturalists and volunteers and members of the public who pre-registered and paid for the workshop.
